Non veg Dinner for 2
Apurba B.

Delicious, affordable and very friendly staff! Tried Tandoor Restaurant for the first time today and it was totally worth every penny. The ordering was easy and the lady threw in complimentary raita too. The non veg dinner for 2 was very good and I highly recommend it to any trying out Tandoor for the first time. The dinner includes a smattering of jeera rice, chicken 65, Naan, dessert, lamb curry, chicken tandoori, butter chicken and manchurian. Can't wait to try more things next time at Tandoor.

Lunch portion of chicken tikka masala

Brought a friend here for lunch on a Sunday and it was amazing! Ordered a lot of the same things as my last visit but happy we did. Everything was delicious and there was plenty of food for the two of us for leftovers! The ginger naan was perfectly spiced - highly recommend! Service was quick and polite. Would've loved the buffet but maybe soon.... can't wait to come back!

Chicken vindaloo with garlic naan

Love the service and low key space. Very comfortable and inviting. Staff welcoming and polite. The food is great. The best garlic naan, it's literally stuffed with fresh garlic. The chicken vindaloo is my go to dish and very spicy. You can choose your spice levels. Love

Garlic Cheese Naan

The service was really nice here and the portion sizes were great! The garlic cheese naan was great and it was nice the tandoori chicken came out on a hot plate! The seasoning on the tandoori chicken was good, but I will keep looking for great Indian food in Milwaukee.

Mango Lassi

Tandoor has always been my #1 spot for Indian cuisine--I have lost count the number of times I have been there. The takeout and the dining experience are equally exceptional. The service is always prompt, and the dining room is never too crowded. There may even be times where your party is the only group dining. That said, it's absolutely not because the food isn't phenomenal. It is a very low key establishment that does most of their business as takeout orders. My big recommendation if you are going to dine at Tandoor is to make sure that you bring your appetite, or a friend to share a curry entree with. They will give you a lot of food. If you can't finish the food, however, curry makes for one of the best leftover meals. I always will eat half of my food and save the rest for the next day. The options are limitless. They have a huge menu, so there's no shortage of things to try. I love that Tandoor includes a half order of rice with their curry dishes. If you are ordering two curry dishes, however, you will want to order an extra rice. They will not include another half order unless you get 3 curries. You may want to get two orders of naan for yourself too--I run through naan pretty quickly! The spice level is optional at Tandoor, and I believe they offer mild, medium, spicy, and desi (which they don't mention as an option). If you get spicy or desi, you will absolutely want extra rice and naan or you may have a bad time. If you are looking for recommendations on extras, the paneer chili is always amazing and very flavorful! It is one of my all time favorite appetizer dishes. The mango lassi is another extra that I feel is necessary to try for the experience. If you like your curry spicy and do opt for the higher spice levels, the mango lassi is the perfect drink to chase and cool everything down. Tandoor will always be one of my favorite restaurants. They have the service down, they have the food down, and most importantly, they have the consistency down. At least from what I've experienced in the 5 years eating there. It is a must try if you love Indian food or simply like trying new things.

We've been regulars at Tandoor for over 20 years. The food is good and the service excellent. I recommend the thali lunch.

Ordered Chicken tandoori and very disappointed as it's just boiled chicken with absolutely no taste. Definitely this is not Indian.

A recent visit to Peshawar provided BF, my mom and I with an excellent dinner…read more It was a little before the regular dinner hour so we shared the restaurant space with just one large family table and one other table. That suited us as we were low on time and on our way to an event. Service was efficient and polite - a one man crew up front had everything easily under control. The atmosphere is spare and pretty basic, but that doesn't take away from the food experience. My mom's beef dish came out sizzling and spicy. She enjoyed it and the generous portions means she brought a lot home for an additional meal. BF had chicken tikka, which he also enjoyed. He's usually a lamb guy, but he finished his dish happily. I enjoyed my paneer - it had a good heat level and abundant fresh , whole spices and fresh ginger spears. It was not the more common creamy, mushy spinach, but a fresher version that I presume was more typically Pakistani. I had plenty for two meals. Our breads were good. My cheese bread tasted like cheese pizza and couldn't be terribly authentic, but hey - cheese and bread can't be wrong. Mom enjoyed a plain lassi. I did order a side of rice and was happy to have it with my dish, and while it was a generous portion, the price seemed a little high for a side. I would certainly eat at Peshawar again. Very good food with no bells and whistles.

The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was decorated nicely for Ramadan! We got the chicken biryani and butter chicken (two of our favorites when ordering Indian food). The butter chicken comes with white rice and garlic naan, which was to die for. We will be regulars!
