Nick initially refused, mentioning customers are never satisfied with them and neither are they. I paid for them to put it in after the warning, and I saw what they meant. It didn't work with steering wheel controls, sounded awful, etc. I hated it on day one of install and scheduled my next visit that day. ---------------- STINGER HEAD UNITS ---------------- TCAS only sells and installs what they put in their own vehicles, and I understand why. This Stinger head unit has my 2016 4Runner feeling more like a 2026. Everything works and integrates well, and the sound quality is incredible. ---------------- COST ---------------- $100/hr. Don't let this scare you. Whenever I stopped in for surprise visits over the days they had my 4Runner, there were almost always two or all three working on it at the same time. ---------------- WORK ETHIC ---------------- Find a chair in their shop. Here's further insult to injury, I referred my brother in law to him (prior to the first comeback) to have a Bluetooth unit installed in his Lexus, guess what? He had to go back! Seems like a pattern for us melanated folk. All hype and no substance, like being hungry and eating a bag of potato chips instead of a meal. Might as well have been robbed by a mugger, except this mugger has a mouth with no real insight past guessing the head unit is the problem instead of a throwing fuses at the problem and melting my fuse box. Shoulda started there, 40 years of experience shoulda told you that but you're so busy looking busy and had the audacity to offset the cost of your ineptness on me. Wow. I scheduled an appointment last week to have the oxidation buffed out of my 3 year old camper…read more I had done part of the back myself , decided my schedule was too full to go further and to go ahead and give my business to a local pro to finish the job. To start with I was told they'd be here at 7-7:30 am. A couple of younger guys showed up around 8:30. I was willing to over look that part even though no one called or apologized for the tardiness after I had to wait longer than planned to meet them before I could leave for work. So anyway , I spent a few minutes showing the guys a 2 foot by 8 foot section of the back where I had successfully buffed out the oxidation myself and wanted the rest to look this way. Fast forward to the afternoon..... After getting home , I was extremely disappointed to find that no oxidation had been removed and the problem has been made worse by the fact that they applied wax over the top of the oxidation. Now , what I have is oxidation with a shine to it??? Really?? After calling the owner, Justin, he tried to tell me that the oxidation could not be removed. What? Is there not a huge area of the back, which is the worst area facing the sun, where I already buffed out the oxidation myself? ... ( Using a cheap buffer and some oxidation remover ) Even if that were the case I would have preferred a phone call right away stating that "hey, we're having a hard time getting this off, what would you like us to do? " At which point I could have told him " thanks for your time , I'll have my wife give you a few bucks for your trouble" and I could begin a new search for someone who knows what they are doing or just continue on my own. I never heard from anyone that they were running into trouble. On top of that the , Justin , the "owner" was extremely unprofessional in his handling of the situation. Kept calling me " Dude" and telling me how he " doesn't have time for this crap " Before hanging up on me. He had also mentioned his guys called him that they were having trouble , that they couldn't get it off. At that point, they should have stopped. Someone evidently made the call to slap some wax on it , get the money and run. Now , not only am I out the $500 cash they ran off with , I have blotchy wax job AND oxidation that has to be fixed. What a waste of time and money , plus the extra work this has created.
