These fellas are kind, understanding, professional, hardworking, reliable, etc. I'll go on in this review to explain how an installation with multiple hiccups and hurdles proved that The Car Audio Shop deserves five stars. ---------------- ANDROID HEAD UNITS ---------------- I ordered a beautiful 12" Android head unit and asked TCAS to install it. Nick initially refused, mentioning customers are never satisfied with them and neither are they. I paid for them to put it in after the warning, and I saw what they meant. It didn't work with steering wheel controls, sounded awful, etc. I hated it on day one of install and scheduled my next visit that day. ---------------- STINGER HEAD UNITS ---------------- TCAS only sells and installs what they put in their own vehicles, and I understand why. This Stinger head unit has my 2016 4Runner feeling more like a 2026. Everything works and integrates well, and the sound quality is incredible. ---------------- COST ---------------- $100/hr. Don't let this scare you. Whenever I stopped in for surprise visits over the days they had my 4Runner, there were almost always two or all three working on it at the same time. ---------------- WORK ETHIC ---------------- Find a chair in their shop. I triple dog dare you. When these guys are on the task, they're working and working hard. ---------------- WORK WARRANTY ---------------- Unfortunately for me, the dash cam rear view mirror main unit and one camera were faulty. The manufacturer sent me a replacement and TCAS worked 5 hours at no cost to me on a Saturday to get me fixed up. read more

I had Nick install a set of BavSound speakers in my BMW 640i Gran Turismo - the car was done as promised and on-time. I noticed that the center channel was distorted somewhat and after returning, his techs found the mid base driver in the center channel was defective. It wasn't their fault. But they didn't charge me additional labor to diagnose it and aren't going to, to replace it once it comes in. For all they knew, it would be a one and done. But they still treated me courteously. Nick and his guys are affable, knowledgeable and really do have a passion for the work they do. After some discussion and letting Nick see/hear the ... interesting calibration I had on my 2009 BMW 135i's current setup, I decided to have the car upgraded with some BMW-specific Morels including their Subwoofer and an Audiotec-Fischer DSP. Anxiously awaiting the end results. I'm pretty sure I'll be thrilled with the results, and I'm already looking at getting them to install a dash cam. A first impression means a lot. And Nick has been great to work with in achieving my specific goals and has been gracious with the BavSound issue. I see why he's so highly rated here. I'll follow up this review with some detailed impressions of the install and DSP setup. Highly recommend this shop though. Especially if you've got a German car. --- Post Car reception Initial Impressions: I got the car back from Nick as promised at 5:30 on a Saturday. AND he had his guys replace the faulty center channel speaker in the 640i! The sound quality in the 135i was night and day difference. I did a little bit of fiddling with the DSP tune to get it how I liked it with my reference songs, and also set the options up to prioritize the line out from my stereo in case I receive phone calls or decide to use the built-in navigation. Tapered off the low-end a bit since the subs aren't super efficient past about 35Hz and tapered off the high end since I don't need power going to 20KHz+ when my hearing's only good to about 15-16KHz. Nick got me about 95% of the way there, which is impressive, considering the wide breadth of musical tastes his clients must have. I can't recommend the AudioTec Fischer UP8DSP/Morel IR-BMW-42 and IP-BMW-SUB82 enough. It's a cliche' to say "These transformed my car audio" but while I always felt the Focals I previously had were lacking a bit of je ne se quois (midrange and bass), the new setup sounds full at all volumes. I'll be heading back to get a Dash Cam installed later. Don't let the neighborhood scare you or your high-end car off. Nick and his guys treated my car and me well, and additionally, the products they sold me were amazing, on-time, and installed on time - and for that, they deserve the coveted 5-star award that I rarely give out. read more

Nick is amazing! I requested a quote and he was prompt with a response. I upgraded from a stock stereo with all new speakers and added a sub. I scheduled an appointment with time availability and he literally had my car ready when I had already requested a ride to pick up my car. Nick and his team did a great job with my Porsche. As most Porsche owners can tell you, we are very concerned about anybody digging into this fine German machine. What did I get done? The Car Audio Shop installed Apple Carplay with front and rear cameras using the OEM head unit. While this may sound routine, it required opening up the OEM head unit and installing a new circuit board. This is something the Porsche dealership would not even do because Porsche does not sell an OEM modification for my car model year. He bought all of the stuff needed and started to install himself when he realized he needed professional help since drilling through the truck's firewall was needed. He reached out to the HAM Club he's part of and was recommended to check out this shop. It ended up being a great recommendation! Here's the scoop: -We took the truck down to get an estimate on the work needing to be done. The staff was super helpful and explained what needed to be done, approximately how long it would take, and how much it would cost. It took maybe 15 minutes total. Nice fast service! -We set up an appointment for later and paid half of the quoted estimate to hold our spot. Having an appointment is so nice and helps you plan your schedule. This was very appreciated on our part. -When we arrived for the appointment, the truck was taken back right away. The work took about what we were quoted time wise and the price all stayed the same as what was quoted in the beginning. No hidden surprises here! -Masks were enforced for employees and customers.
