These fellas are kind, understanding, professional, hardworking, reliable, etc. I'll go on in this review to explain how an installation with multiple hiccups and hurdles proved that The Car Audio Shop deserves five stars. ---------------- ANDROID HEAD UNITS ---------------- I ordered a beautiful 12" Android head unit and asked TCAS to install it. Nick initially refused, mentioning customers are never satisfied with them and neither are they. I paid for them to put it in after the warning, and I saw what they meant. It didn't work with steering wheel controls, sounded awful, etc. I hated it on day one of install and scheduled my next visit that day. ---------------- STINGER HEAD UNITS ---------------- TCAS only sells and installs what they put in their own vehicles, and I understand why. This Stinger head unit has my 2016 4Runner feeling more like a 2026. Everything works and integrates well, and the sound quality is incredible. ---------------- COST ---------------- $100/hr. Don't let this scare you. Whenever I stopped in for surprise visits over the days they had my 4Runner, there were almost always two or all three working on it at the same time. ---------------- WORK ETHIC ---------------- Find a chair in their shop. I triple dog dare you. When these guys are on the task, they're working and working hard. ---------------- WORK WARRANTY ---------------- Unfortunately for me, the dash cam rear view mirror main unit and one camera were faulty. The manufacturer sent me a replacement and TCAS worked 5 hours at no cost to me on a Saturday to get me fixed up.

I called them a couple of days later and even went in person as I was eager to make some improvements on my ride and they said they'd contact me back with a quote and never did. Seems like other reviewers got ghosted too. The shop looked filthy / messy and I was hesitant but I went off of the good reviews. That was not my experience. Following through with potential new business should be one of the biggest core aspects of running a small business. If you can't be reliable before even agreeing on work, I wouldn't want to know what it's like should they actually be hired and an install goes wrong. Very disappointing.

I went ahead and did a Maps search for whoever was close to me but the shops i looked into - their reviews sucked butt. I went further into my search.... Hmm, Pro Car Audio. I'll see what they are all about. How many miles away from me though, I went ahead called. I spoke to the owner of the establishment and with his knowledge on speakers, amps, and whatever was needed, I decided to make an appointment with him. At my appointment, from the outside of the shop, it looks like a hole in the wall shop, but when you step foot inside, it was like the Taj Mahal!! The lobby and what was displayed was pretty awesome, and very organized. Sohail gave me a quote that sounded very reasonable to install the speakers to my vehicle, but I had just recently purchased another vehicle that needed a dash cam installed. Instead of getting speakers for the vehicle I originally wanted done, I got the installation for my dash cam instead, and they were pretty professional and on point on how they did the installation. Very clean and very impressive. I've been in many car stereo shops before, but never like this just for the fact that the owner and his brother know what they're talking about and what's good.. no, GREAT for your vehicle! Sohail and Faisal - the best in Austin for sure. And if anyone is reading this, COME TO PRO CAR AUDIO. The word "PRO" is there for a reason!

Specifically, I've worked with Patrick both times, who has been accommodating, caring, and an all-around pleasure to interact with. We have yet to go to them for auto needs, but we will be their customers for that in the future! Just wanted to give them some praise because I believe in supporting businesses that have excellent people and customer service.

My CD changer in my 2008 Mazda 6 w/ Bose died and after 2 months of Austin radio I decided I needed…read moreto do something about it. When the changer first died I emailed Custom Sounds and got an estimate on how much it would cost. I knew it would be pricey due to the existing Bose system (Bose doesn't play well with after-market parts). Turns out it was a little more than I thought as the Mazda 6 requires the face of the center console to be replaced to allow for a single or double DIN stereo. When I finally decided to go ahead with this I visited Custom Sounds in person. The employee I had emailed with no longer worked there and hadn't documented our conversation. Dustin gave me a new quote. It was about $50 more than the original which didn't bother me. It's quite possible the original was missing some things and I had asked for an estimate not a binding quote. Dustin was able to work with my schedule and get me in a couple days later on a Saturday (the only day I could do it). I dropped the car off and when I returned home I got a call from Dustin saying they started the work and noticed I had a Bose system and it would be about $70 more due to another part and some more labor. That was pretty frustrating but I told him to go ahead. Austin radio is that bad. A couple hours later they called to say my car was ready. Dustin took me out to my car and walked me through how to use the new receiver and pair it with my phone. The installation looks great and everything (including the existing steering wheel controls) works perfectly. They even mounted the mic for bluetooth phone connections in a way that you can't see the wire going to the receiver. Even better, the extra part and labor weren't needed as the receiver I chose was able to pump out sound at a level that worked fine with the existing Bose amp and speakers. Saved me $70. My only regret is the installation was much better than I expected. If I had know it was going to look this good I would've spent an extra $100 for a double DIN touch screen receiver. With that you'd never know my car had an after-market unit in it.

It was easy to make the appointment to have the Jeep towed in and they got back to me by the end of the day with the diagnostic. My brake line had blown out and they were going to replace it. The next day they called to tell me there were no brake lines available for my Jeep anywhere with MOPAR, or any other manufacturer. People in my situation are all waiting months for these things on back order. Most shops would have probably told me to come tow this Jeep out of their way until a brake line was available. Not Juke! They thought outside the box and let me know a hydraulic shop they work with could build the part for me, and it would only be $80 more! Perfect! Even though they had to run around town with these brake lines, and rely on another shop to hunt down parts and fabricate custom brake lines for me, they had my Jeep back to me after just 6 business days! The other great thing is Miguel kept me updated the whole time and I never had to worry about if my vehicle was being taken care of. The people at Juke actually care about their customers and I recommend them to everyone I know.

I bring up that brake issue because it eventually became a pattern of dropping the ball, and repeated issues 1. My car had to be towed because basic logic well known issue for GMC/Chevy 6.2 liter V8 engines have a lifter issue which requires engine replacement. The car wasn't in bad shape as you say. Cadillac dealership said I should have it towed due to the knocking sound. My car has always been kept immaculate. Yes you quoted a fair price, it was Lambs in Lakeway that was ridiculous and most people know they are. The engine took long because they sent the wrong engine and in regards to my finances it wasn't I couldn't pay . I was at the mercy of you and I was nothing but polite every single interaction with you. Your dropped the ball so many times and you actually asked me for advance payment at one point because you needed to pay your taxes . I didn't want to pay you UPFRONT Frank. You fix then pay, that's most every way it's done . You didn't have the money to cover costs which is a concern regarding running a business. I had also just spent money on another car repair and boat repairs . The car sat as I decided what I wanted to do. As far as stating you could have charged me storage you never once mentioned that and I have every phone call that proves that. Pretty shady of you to pull that out on your reply here. Again not on single time did you ever mention storage fees. So please don't act as if it was some favor you did. The car went in for an engine replacement. As you confirmed the day you put the engine in to test drive you call me telling me I need steering column replacement. Yes I have you on recording Frank stating that indeed the lift and big tires were the culprit. The steering was completely fine and it had not been driven once per you as we waited for the engine issue and replacement to be resolved. You now understand why I recorded you. You can't remember what you told me. I didn't struggle to pay you. I had a boat in repair and another car a Range Rover in repair. I communicated to you very professionally. By the way let's remember you had me pay up front on everything. It was the engine that was ordered that was delayed. 2. Regarding the transmission line. Let the public see this post. I pick up my car from Frank and I make it about a quarter to half a mile or so down road and what becomes the problem is the transmission line. Frank I have that call to you recorded as well and your claim that I accelerated or false and blew the line is total BS. It had nothing to do with big tires. I'm saving all my facts, statements from GM certified techs , and video of your guy coming over to "fix" it. Within a day or 2 it went out again and I made you tow it for free. It was your guy that you sent and had him do what he did and sent me on my way and that all was fine only to have it sent back to you. By the way on our recorded call you tried to lead me to believe with certainty it was one thing when in fact you were wrong and called me with another reason. Again grateful I recorded both those conversations. The reputable mechanics I discussed were my brothers out of Houston. My brother owns a professional garage and luxury and collector car biz for 22 years. The other reputable people was a connection I had out of A Cadillac dealer in Dallas. I mentioned this to you and so logically my car stayed locally with you. 3. The whole issue about you spending 200 for the detail I will just say to anyone reading this look at the pics of my Escalade left in his care. Never should have happened Frank. By the way I took a time stamp video of my car before it went back to you. I didn't spill the oil. That's a regular engine oil. Why would I need engine oil to leave in my backseat after you just repaired and did an engine replacement. Again shady of you to blame that on me. And by the way I had to waste 3 hours of my work day sitting there waiting on a detail. Completely unprofessional. 4. I asked you you fix my windshield wiper motor while you had it. You never did. I kept asking you very time you had the car and I have your texts alone that show you forgot several times. same thing Frank regarding the transmission thermostat. I asked you several times, you came out to fix my running board and forgot to get the transmission thermostat and windshield motor. Again pretty crazy you fixed my transmission yet our texts show you dropping the ball on the thermostat. I have lost count on the amount of texts I have that show you never show up on time. I'm done with my response. I'll update this post after claims court.

I spoke to her Monday and Tuesday this week to re-confirm address, pricing and details of what was to be tinted. Lo and behold she waits until one hour before her team is supposed to show up at my house today to tell me oh by the way she made a mistake and it's going to be $600 for me instead of $500. She is blaming it on the fact she didnt know our home was so far. She had opportunities to punch our address is on Friday, again on Monday and again on Tuesday but she claims she never did until one hour before arrival and now I've wasted 2-3 days of time when I could have gotten this job done elsewhere Monday morning or Friday afternoon last week. Horrible business practices this place has and I will never recommend anyone to them.

5/5 - Absolutely Blown Away by the Service and Sound! I recently had 4 speakers and a new radio unit installed on my 2001 Yamaha LS2000, and I honestly couldn't be happier with the entire experience. From start to finish, the team at Jeff knocked it out of the park. First off, the communication was top-notch. They took the time to explain all the options, made sure I was getting the best gear for my setup, and even offered suggestions to optimize the sound specifically for open water. The install itself? Flawless. They treated my boat with care and precision like it was their own. Wiring was clean, everything mounted securely, and when they fired up the system for the first time--WOW. I didn't think a 2001 LS2000 could sound this good! Whether I'm chilling on Lake Austin or partying on Lake Travis, the sound holds strong and clear. It completely transformed my time on the water. Man this guy knows his stuff. I had an older boat I was having re-floored and fiberglassed. I wanted the finished product to look sleek and factory and possible, clean. Not only did Jeff brave rolling around in the unfloored fiberglass boat to wire in 8 speakers and 3 subs for me, but he lit up my whole boat with color changing LEDs, and had to knowledge to upsell me with a second battery and a switch to turn it on and off. Smart move! the system rocked so hard it actually needed the second battery just to run. For all the extra little details I'm got, I was very surprised not to have my head knocked off on the price. Highly recommend if you got a boat. read more

I brought Jeff a 2003 bmw 325ci I had just bought for my son. The car was mechanically sound, I thought. The reason I brought it to Jeff was to get the two front pillars and headiner recovered. It was a pretty good price with a lifetime ownership guarantee. When we went to start the car up Jeff noticed some lights and some rough running and cleaned up the battery connection, checked my tires, and even topped my oil off with a bottle of oil he had laying around. He went above and beyond. I took the car back to him to add carbon fiber interior pieces, bmw badges, and side mirror covers too! read more

Instead of getting speakers for the vehicle I originally wanted done, I got the installation for my dash cam instead, and they were pretty professional and on point on how they did the installation. Very clean and very impressive. I've been in many car stereo shops before, but never like this just for the fact that the owner and his brother know what they're talking about and what's good.. no, GREAT for your vehicle! Seems like other reviewers got ghosted too. The shop looked filthy / messy and I was hesitant but I went off of the good reviews. That was not my experience. Following through with potential new business should be one of the biggest core aspects of running a small business. If you can't be reliable before even agreeing on work, I wouldn't want to know what it's like should they actually be hired and an install goes wrong. Very disappointing.

I told them upfront that the vehicle was inexpensive and I did not want to spend a lot of money on a stereo. Jacob at Speaker Easy told me he had a simple, effective, and reasonably priced solution. He referred me to a company called Emerald Integrations, identified the exact part needed, texted me the link, and told me to order it. Before buying anything, I even sent him a picture of the part to confirm I was ordering the correct item. He confirmed it. The part ended up being back-ordered, so it took about two weeks to arrive. Once it came in, I brought the vehicle to him expecting a straightforward plug-and-play install--because that's exactly how it was described to me. A few hours into the job, he called and said, "This is a lot of work, I have to completely take apart your dash." If the job required that level of teardown, I should have been told before anything was touched. He sent me pictures showing my entire dash completely disassembled. At that point, I had no real choice but to let him continue since the vehicle was already torn apart. I asked for a ballpark estimate. He told me they "usually charge $750 for the day." I was shocked--this was never mentioned upfront, especially after I had clearly said I didn't want to spend much. But the dash was already apart, so again, I had no options. Shortly after, he called again: the unit would not work, and he had no solution other than advising me to call Emerald Integrations. Emerald responded that they did not have a fix and recommended closing everything up so they could issue me a refund for the part. Jacob then told me he had to return my vehicle that same day because he was booked the next day, meaning he wasn't going to fix the issue regardless--he'd just reassemble the dash and hand the car back. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, he informed me he would "discount" the charge from $750 down to $600. I was stunned. I ordered the exact part he told me to order, he confirmed it, he tore my entire dash apart, could not complete the job, provided no solution, and then charged me $600 anyway. I told him clearly this was not fair and asked him to reconsider. He refused and stated he would not issue any refund. In my opinion, this situation falls under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and if I am not refunded, I will be seeking legal counsel to address the damages. I've been in this industry for decades and I have never dealt with a situation handled this poorly. Maybe he does quality work--I can't say, because he never completed the job. But charging someone hundreds of dollars after recommending the wrong part, confirming it, disassembling the entire dash, failing to install it, and giving no upfront estimate is, in my experience, unethical and unacceptable. If you choose to use Speaker Easy, I strongly recommend you get every detail in writing--the cost, the scope of work, what happens if the part doesn't fit, and what you are expected to pay. Otherwise, you may end up in the same situation I did. There are many honest and transparent shops out there. Based on my experience, this was not one of them.

Last summer (2025) I brought in my Shelby GT350 after buying it used. The previous owner had cut big holes in the doors for aftermarket speakers. On a Shelby. I was pissed. I wanted factory-looking enclosures, clean professional wiring throughout, and while they were in there, I added a single 12" sealed Arc Audio subwoofer in the trunk. Michael was great to work with. He's clearly a JL Audio fan but didn't hesitate when I wanted the higher-end Arc sub. He ordered exactly what I wanted, built a super clean box that looks completely natural in the trunk, and installed a JL amp with a convenient power control knob right below the steering wheel. The turnaround time was very fast too -- I had the car back quicker than I expected. The attention to detail and quality of the work was impressive. I'm actually going back soon to have him install a new head unit in my 2012 Honda Civic, and I have full confidence it'll turn out right. If you want someone who actually listens, does clean work, and doesn't jerk you around, go see Michael at Elusive Audio. Solid shop.
