This is the best Thai place we have eaten at in all of Texas so far! Unreal the ribeye was insane as well as the Pad Thai everything bursting with flavor and they use super fresh ingredients. We were checking out Hye Cider and Hye Thai was a nice little surprise! It's a good truck, family owned and ran, located in the parking lot of Hye Cider. The food was delicious!!! We had green curry with chicken, red curry with chicken, chicken lettuce wraps and papaya salad. They had 3 heat levels and we went with 2 which was nice heat but not crazy, I think I'll do 3 next time. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed if you love good Thai food! read more

Pass Bye Hye Thai. The Chicken Pad Thai was really dark and had an unpleasant plastic-y taste. The peanuts were whole. The Crying Tiger was not a steak salad, but a respectably large portion of okay sliced steak laying on a bed of greens and a clump of shredded carrots all laying on a bed of rice. The sauce was spicy and good. The fried egg roll was pretty good with a pretty good sauce. Ban Mi was on the menu-that's not Thai... I'm not a critical Thai Food snob, but for the price, it should be better. read more

Really glad we tried this place, and it will not be a one-time visit. Such a refreshing change of pace from the typical food, and value, of eateries in this area. There were 4 of us, and we arrived at about 1:30p yesterday (Friday). I ordered the Pad Thai (spice level 2), my darling wife and our two guests ordered the Green Curry (spice level 1, 3, and 4), and we bought a bottle of 'cizer' (the product created before it becomes mead if it were left to ferment long enough... I think). Food and beverage were simply outstanding. My Pad Thai portion (served in a very nice to-go container which we will re-use) was really generous. I ate a bunch, and brought the rest home and had it for dinner. Just as good the 2nd time. And it was served piping hot, which I appreciated, even though a sign on Hwy 290 nearby said it was 103 degrees outside! The gals loved their curry, and their spring (albeit technically 'summer' rolls according to one of our guests, because they were not fried. Regardless, they were good, and the peanut sauce was delicious). Speaking of peanuts, they were also in my dish, and a welcome bit of crunch for me, and for the charming chickens roaming around who would eat from my hand. (We have chickens at our ranch, and I do have a way with the birds. Truly.) The vintage double-decker bus out towards the highway makes for a neat conversation topic, and I can picture it serving drinks below and being enjoyed in the open air upper deck someday as the Hye Cider proprietor indicated. Lastly, given the name of the street (Rocky Road), the only thing more we would have wanted was ice cream, although preferably gelato because it seems like it would be the perfect accompaniment to this low-key but decidedly upscale establishment. We hope maybe someday they'll open a location in Blanco which could certainly benefit from a gastronomy option. But it's worth the drive, whether you're coming from Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Johnson City, Dripping Springs, Spring Branch, Austin, or Oakland California -- from where our guests drove to visit us. 5 stars. read more

I found Hye Thai (a food truck) on Google because I was in search of something to eat for dinner near Stonewall, TX (nearly everything is closed for dinner). It was a great find! We ordered red curry and green curry as well as 1 chicken satay skewer. I really liked my green curry bowl , really flavorful and tasted pretty authentic. The chicken satay was tender. Portions plentiful and curry bowl was a very reasonable $9, so good value, and service was great. I will go back next time we're in the area. read more

Small home town feel. Owned by a husband and wife team, both of which checked on us to make sure everything was good and yes it was. I had the fried chicken bowl. The chicken nuggets (real chicken and not processed) sat on top of sticky rice and spinach. The chicken was fried to perfection and not greasy. My wife had the Pad Thai and said it was very good. Both meals were fantastic. For dessert we had the mango sticky rice with real slices of mango.....yum yum! No fillers or fake food here folks, everything is real and delicious. I really was not expecting much bc it's the middle of rural Texas but wow they showed me. I love their pad Thai it was delicious and just enough spicy! If you're not a fan of spicy make sure you ask for less than mild haha only thing I wasn't a big fan of was the spring rolls, but they were not bad just not what I'm used to.
