    Drunken Noodles with Shrimp
    Shelene L.

I have fallen in love with the Drunken Noodles at N's Thai. This is the second time that I've ordered them, and this time was with shrimp instead of chicken. Freshly made, full of flavor, and served piping hot with the perfect amount of spice. I highly recommend squeezing the lime wedge that comes with it over top. That little bit of acid adds just the right touch. I also ordered the veggie fried spring rolls. They were pretty standard but the dipping sauce was outstanding. I'll be ordering extra of that next time because I loved it so much. Thanks N's Thai for another delicious meal.

This place is an unexpected gem! Now I'm no expert, but I love Thai food and I've sure eaten enough to recognize that N's is one of the best. The chicken actually had flavor! Nowadays I feel that most Thai places have bland chicken or it has a dirty dishrag scent. Not here! The spice level was also on point. Nothing overbearing and not just chili flakes tossed on top. Actual flavor with heat. You just have to make sure to ask them because some of the dishes come with no spice otherwise. My only complaint is the table felt a bit sticky, but I can overlook that when the food is as good as it was. They also offer outdoor seating. Highly recommend trying. I'm planning my next trip out already just to visit them!

N's is an out of the way place, but well worth finding. It's in Boerne, off of North Main on Adler road. This is seriously one of the best Thai restaurants I've eaten in the San Antonio area. You order at the counter, and they will bring it to your table. So a bit of self service. Ambiance is rustic, with Thai decorations. The food is where this place shines. We all have it 4.5 stars. My daughter had Pad Thai, wife had drunken noodles, and I had fried tofu. Official names were The number 1 - Phad Thai Korat Number 6 - Phad Kee Mao A number 1 stir fried Phad Gra Pow ordered with double tofu We had the pork spring rolls - which were great! Wife had the #3 spice and my tofu with a #4 spice. The flavors were amazing in all the dishes. Especially the drunken noodles and fried tofu. Do yourself a favor, drive to Boerne, find N's and enjoy! It took a little while to get the food because everything is cooked fresh - the wait is worth it!!

For dinner, we finally got to try this place on a Saturday evening. We tried to eat there a couple of months ago but were closed. Firstly, the parking lot has room which is good because they were very busy that day! When we entered, we were told that the wait for the entree was an hour. Appetizers were easier so they will arrive at the table earlier. We got our drinks and got a table in the patio. A front had moved in early that morning so it was breezy! Well, they were right, the eggrolls came out 30 minutes later and boy, were they delicious! The servers came out to deliver food but they did not know which table! Weird! After an hour, the entrees came out. I could tell that the food had sat in the kitchen for a while because the noodles were sticking together and were almost glued together. So, we were hungry so we ate the food. I brought home my leftover but after a couple of days, i have not touched it. Since we sat outside, the ambiance was tolerable. Eating inside would have been different. It looked like a warehouse with tables! Overall, i gave them 4 stars - very generous indeed. I'd like to come back when they're not busy and give them a fair shake. A local eatery deserves that!

When they hand me the bag of food, I didn't think to look inside before leaving the restaurant. After I got to my friend's house, I noticed I was missing our 2 soups. The menu said that we had a choice of white rice or fried rice, and it comes with sweet and sour soup. They didn't ask me which we preferred, and I didn't think to ask for the fried rice. They put "one" white rice in the bag, but we ordered "2" lunch specials. Why only one white rice? So, I called to let them know they forgot our soups. The man on the phone insisted it didn't come with soup. When I explained it clearly says the lunch special comes with sweet and sour soup and a choice of white rice or fried rice on the paper menu he had handed me when I came into his restaurant 20 minutes earlier. He said that must be a type-o, and that's a mistake. He kept arguing with me about the lunch special not coming with soup. I then had to explain that if it's on the menu (that he handed me today!) that he has to honor it. He then told me it was an old menu. But he gave me the menu today, I didn't have an old menu at home! What happened to it being a type-o? I said I would be back to the restaurant to pick up our soups. When I got there, one soup in a bag was waiting for me on the counter. I had to explain to the 2 women working there, that I paid for "2 lunch specials " and that is only "1 soup". They talked to each other in their language, and then told me I would have to wait for it. I said ok. Now, let's review the food. My Pad Thai was dry noodles with 4 shrimp lying on top. No vegetables whatsoever except a few bean sprouts on the side and a few scallions stored in. But that's it. No flavor and barely any sauce. My friend ordered the Pad Woon Sen with beef. He said his was pretty bad too, but his looked way better than mine. I didn't taste his, but mine was horrible. And lastly, the soup was the worst hot and sour I've ever had. Overall, I would NOT recommend anyone wasting their money there. When I walked in, a man was walking out with his take out, and when I went back there was a woman that had ordered food. So I guess people go there, but I couldn't tell you why. Simply terrible food and a waste of $30 for lunch!!!!

The pork was dry and tough (old?)...even the flavorless fat bits., the green onion was a lifeless drab green and it just wasn't as appealing or as tasty as what I am accustomed to. Everything just seemed overcooked or old. The Sushi wasn't too different. I ordered a Chirashi Don with "24 pieces" I guess you can creatively cut two micro sized flat, dry, shrimp to make "4 pieces" , but c'mon. All of the pieces were oddly shaped (mangled) cuts of varied sizes and seemed like pretty cheap cuts of fish overall. the Thai Tea was the only "ok" thing I got for the $48 and change I spent, but even that was a little weak and too sweet for my tatse. If you like GOOD sushi or Thai food, I would NOT recommend this place. It was close by and I'd ordered there before and I wasn't expecting much based on my last experience, but this was the worst and enough to ensure I never go back. There are a very rare few decent Thai places in San Antonio, but if they are closed and this is your only option...make the 3 hour drive to Houston instead.
