The Peachy Jalapeño Gourmet burger - so delicious!!

The friendly service was inviting and comfortable. Our burgers and fries were gourmet standard - fresh and hot! Don't miss out when you are in town, make this a spot to visit.

We were staying in the beautiful Texas hill country, but didn't want to drive back into Fredericksburg again for a meal. This place was a great find! The burgers were awesome and peach cobbler dessert too! Staff were very friendly and helpful.

That being said - we called 4 times on Tues 6/3 to cancel our reservations for 1 overnight 6/8-6/9 because our daughter got covid. Not only was it not canceled, but we were charged $395 for a 1 night stay (effectively paying for 2 nights but only getting 1). When I spoke to the owner, Amy, I told her that we had canceled last week and asked why our card was still charged. I was told that the cancellation policy is 10 days in advance. I informed her that we were not told that at the time of cancellation nor did we receive a cancellation email. Had we known about this policy, we would have given the reservation to my MIL, who was currently in the hill country. She stated that it is on the original bill as well as the cancellation email (we did not get any cancellation email). I asked her to foward me the cancellation email she sent. I am still waiting for that. Very disappointed in both the communication as well as this policy. Emergencies happen, so should compassion. $400 is a lot of money for 1 night. As charming as this place is, we will not be going back and will not recommend.

So it's the real deal. After you make your online reservation (which is extremely easy to do), you're greeted at the entry gate a hostess / staff member, who comes wine-in-hand to give you a welcome beverage and offer you a greeting that excites Texas Hospitality. You're briefly shown thegrounds, walked over to your tasting room, and introduced to your server. The grounds are absolutely lovely. This time of year the vineyards are lush and green. The property overlooks a lovely valley that reminds me of California. Walk around and you'll discover a lovely Monarch butterfly garden teaming with life. We saw over a dozen butterflies and a hummingbird. And the colors of the garden are so vibrant. We had a lovely tasting, bought a bottle of wine to take back to our VRBO, and before leaving, we ordered some food from their cafe and ate in one of their patios. The food was expensive but everything was of the highest quality and had to be made from scratch. The tacos came in beef (an amazing smoked beef cheek) or chicken (adequately spiced with Hatch green chillies) and homemade flour tortillas, homemade chips, and amazing salsa that I would have bought a bottle of if they sold it. Today's tasting was all red. But they switch things out seasonally and you may get whites or roses. But here's what you should know. Only 3% of Texas wineries only ever use Texas grapes. Some offer estate wines and many bring grapes in from the Texas High Plains but those are most often then blended with grapes from California, Washington or elsewhere. This place only works withTexas grapes. So... you're going to get the purest expressions of what the Texas soil and climate produces. This includes Tennat (tons of tannin) and Mourvedre (a small grape with thick skin that also delivers high tannin and is earthy, smokey, peppery... very savory). These grapes are celebrated in Spain, France and Uruguay. So you may be quite familiar with them. But they are very different from the far fruitier wines you may be most familiar with. They are certainly not California Napa cabs or pinots, Sonoma chards or Lodi zins. So know what you're getting into. Since they rotate their tastings, we'll come back and try more of their offerings. I really respect what they are doing here, and wineries like this are part of what makes Texas great.

This ended up being my favorite wine, not only of the whole tasting, but of the multiple vineyards we visited that day. We were brought to our tasting station which allowed for standing only and our guide was very knowledgable about the wines. I especially liked that he was purposefully reluctant to share the wine notes so that we could judge for ourselves (however, as someone who only tastes notes of wine and nothing else, it made it a little difficult). We ended up with a lineup of reds which was not what I expecting. Despite not being a huge fan of red wine, I still fully enjoyed myself and the wine that we tried. Our guide even gave us another tasting to try that was a off menu. I will be back and hopefully, I can try some more whites at that time! My biggest regret is not buying a bottle of the Mama Ruth. What in the world was I thinking?

They apparently revamped the entire space and looks modernized. We came here for tasting first, like their other locations, you're allowed to taste up to four of their wines of your choosing. They have a mix of Texas and California grown wines that are processed in their facility. Eve was our tasting ambassador and she did a great job going through each wine and going through the recent changes in their premium memberships. They also have a restaurant on site that only take walk-ins for members only. Their outdoor patio space was also really, really nice with a view of their vineyards. We were disappointed they were out of some of their appetizers but we made do with the options they had available. All their food was great but their ahi tuna wontons were bomb in particular. This is their only kid-friendly and dog friendly location so we'll consider bringing our dog next time.

The bruschetta Board was a bit strange as it's fruit and sweet on a ton of lettuce that is wasted because no one eats that part and not an original one with tomatoes and cheese.Probably wouldn't get that again and will try something else. Only giving three stars because of the wine is really good but first experience wasn't great.

They show you where all the grapes are pressed, the wine is made, the casks they age it in, and how they filter and bottle it. Pretty cool. They are a major producer, and all of it seems to be distributed to members. They have an onsite restaurant with covered outdoor seating. You're surrounded by the winery and lots of beautiful plants and trees. Indoors you have your standing tasting experiences. The restaurant food is fine. And it's not exorbitantly priced. They have chatceutery and appetizers (hummus, meatballs) as well as simple entrees. Though they own several wineries and tasting rooms, this is the best of them as a visitor experience. The confusion to seat members in an open area is laughable as staff members at the first kiosk/host stand struggle reading an iPad, moving customers to a second kiosk, and figuring out what the staff said or did at the first kiosk before seating you.
