My husband and I went to LeRoy's Tex Mex BBQ for lunch while in the area. We parked, and walked to the restaurant. The parking lot isn't paved but we didn't have any issues. We walked around on the grounds and noticed that there is a separate patio and a bathroom with seating outside. The women's bathroom was clean. Now to the restaurant. We walked in the restaurant and it wasn't very big. You could see the menu on the wall, the ordering counter was close, the food pickup counter was next to the ordering counter, the seating was in the middle, and the bar at the other end. After walking in and checking out the menu we walked up to the ordering counter. The person that took our order was friendly and patient with me. I wanted the El Burger that was listed on the menu but I didn't notice that it's only available on Wednesdays. The person told me that so I checked the menu out again to see what burger I wanted. I decided on LeRoy's Smash Burger which comes with smashed brisket patties, pickles, bacon & onion jam. I ordered mine without cheese. It came with a choice of a side so my husband and I picked the potato salad to share. I also wanted to try the Smoked Pork Belly Menudo which substitutes the traditional tripe meat with smoked pork belly. This came with onions, cilantro, and chopped jalapenos that you could add if you wanted. My husband and I decided to share LeRoy's Nachos which has tortilla chips covered in beans, queso, avacado, pico, crema, salsa, BBQ sauce and jalapenos. These come with your choice of meat and we decided on brisket. My husband ordered one taco to try called Chancho La Panza which comes with pork belly, beans, cilantro, and queso fresco. The Food. LeRoy's Smash Burger was delicious. I liked the flavor of the meat and the jam. The potato salad had a mustard flavor to it which I didn't mind. The Nachos were tasty. The BBQ sauce in them gave them a hint of sweetness in the midst of all of the saltier ingredients. The Menudo was spicy. I wasn't expecting it to be so hot but it was tolerable. The smoked pork belly mixed in the soup was good. There was also a crunchy texture mixed in that added to the experience. I tried my husband's pork taco and it was delightful. There was so much flavor packed into a single taco. Overall the experience was positive. The restaurant was small but comfortable, the service was good and the food was fresh and delicious. read more

The food was AMAZING! You have to order at the counter, and they'll call you when your food is ready. It's a small place inside, but there's plenty of outdoor seating. There's also plenty of parking, which is always a plus! My baby had the chicken quesadilla, and she LOVED it! It came with fruit and a juice, so I thought it was a great deal. My husband and I ordered Leroy's Smash Burger and the pulled pork sandwich. My favorite was definitely the Leroy's burger. SOOO GOOD! BTW I think their potato salad is fantastic! I'm calling this place Bruce Leroy's cause they are kicking arse! If you park in the back be careful. I learned the hard way, the first door you encounter is actually the kitchen door. I walked in and saw the cook. He saw my embarrassment and said "hey come on in I've got some dishes for ya" lol! This spot is next to a field with all types of goodies like pumpkins, squash, okra , etc and behind a cute little shop so it can be confusing. But I'm here for it and ready to be part of the crew since I'm already on dish duty ha! I ended up doing the brisket tacos (the Limp Brisket tacos,love the name.) These are so tender and a must if you are out this way. The assortment on wines was spectacular. The prices were very reasonable. The bartender was a lady who made me laugh so hard I was crying. I've been to a lot of BBQ places in Texas, both the famous ones and the hidden gems, but Leroy's in Fredericksburg really impressed me. The menudo was amazing--perfectly seasoned with tender pork belly that took it to another level. Luke, the owner and pitmaster, brought us some end cuts, and they were incredible. This spot was hidden behind Jenschke Orchards and was a great find on our way into Fredericksburg! You can tell this spot is a regular visit for people who frequent Fredericksburg or stop by the peach stand. The nachos and the burger were both delicious! This place is amazing! We have driven by countless times but didn't even know it was there. The food is so delicious. Do not skip the award winning queso! The tacos are large. One was plenty for me. At first I was skeptical of a bbq joint outside of Austin but I was so hungry after the 1.5 hour drive to get to Fredericksburg that I was willing to give it a shot. I'd have to say it's one of the best bbq places I've been to in a while. I dare say even better than most bbq places in Austin. We were in the area and starving, without having lunch planned anywhere else we decided to stop at Leroy's since it was close by and had good reviews. It was a hot day so we stayed inside to eat - but I'm sure on a cooler night its nice to sit outside. As this is a BBQ and tex-mex joint the brisket is where it's at. It's so perfectly tender on both the BBQ sandwich and on the tacos. We shared an order of chips with queso which was the perfect thickness. I got a brisket taco, and my husband got a brisket sandwich with a side of elotes (with hot cheeto dust) and potato salad. There was not one bad thing that we tried. Great brisket taco without the cumin seasoning. Then saw they had mezcal and as I am always in search of the perfect spicy mezcal margarita I tried one. I was a passenger, so one turned into two. Away from the crowded main street area where everyone normally flocks. Happened upon this place while visiting the flea market that's practically next door. Nachos were great, with your choice of meat, we chose brisket, with queso Blanco, bell peppers, onion, jalapeño, queso fresco, Cilantro and a bit of bbq sauce. My husband and I split the full order which was plenty really, but honestly, if we were both super starving we could have each probably demolished at least 3/4 if not all of the full order on our own. They were really good. Glad they didnt go crazy on the bbq sauce or it would have been too sweet. You order the front and there's a bar at the back with a few tables in between. Bathrooms are outside in a separate building which is for not only the restaurant but also the winery right next to it on the same property. First trip to Leroy's was for breakfast one Saturday morning and it was great! The Limp Brisket Taco as well as the Carnitas Taco were outstanding, but the carnitas was the winner. Tortilla chips with Roasted Poblano Queso and guacamole were great, cheese was different than most, it was very thin and runny, but tasty. That was Five Star visit. Unfortunately, the second visit was a One Star at best. We picked up a "to go" order which included a Carnitas Taco, Limp Brisket Taco, Chopped Beef Sandwiches and Roasted Poblano Queso with tortilla chips. The only thing that could even be considered good was the Carnitas Taco the rest of the order was pathetic as best. I could believe the small amount of DRY chopped beef and the mashed dry bun, less than a teaspoon of sauce on any of the sandwiches; just horrible and inedible. The Queso was even thinner that the first time, would even stick to the chip. And finally for the Limp Brisket Taco, a repeat of the sandwiches, the brisket was very dry and apparently been sitting out for hours before making into the taco. We did pick up our order an hour before close, so I guess we just got whatever was left over from the day, regardless of what shape the food was in. We might go back to see if they can redeem themselves, but "two strikes and you're out". Hopefully the second trip was an anomaly. read more

The service was amazing and the food came out quick! We had gotten the brisket street tacos and an order of the pork belly half nachos along with the elote in a cup. The street tacos were fresh and the meat was so good and the beans were also very surprising and honestly the best thing we had. It had fresh toppings on the side for your usual street tacos. The nachos were amazing it had a good amount of meat and every bite and filled with flavor. The elote in a cup was also very very good and I enjoyed it.
