I have had nothing but great experiences and good service here. I've been coming here for years, and patron this business. We always make a drive out here to get their food. By all means not here to sh*t on the business because we still want to come here to support them. However, last Saturday I believe was the 5/23/26, they had an event and an artist guest came and performed for the guests. It was nice, but it was also very packed in there with people out the door. We snuck through the back just to get in, people standing and blocking traffic because there was no room and space. We had to wait in a small crammed isle area towards the bathroom. It took awhile for our simple togo order to get done--which was also mistakenly given to someone else. They couldn't figure out simple logistics. There were also others who got wrong orders while we stood there waiting. They had to re-make people's pizzas while the pizza had to be given away for free because it had already been touched. My gripe is that in the future, if you're having an event, (maybe they do this here all the time), please have a floor manager to alleviate the crowd and simple operations and logistics to handle the lines, the crowd control, and providing fast and accurate service. Not just making the food right, but with time, and a comfortable environment. They could have made it more. It was so busy, that they either looked to be short-staffed or got confused on a lot of their orders. In short, in the future their manager should do better in operations and executing the the transactions to flow more smoothly. If you're having a guest performer, find a way to also make that work better. Maybe make people not block the pathways, more chairs or seating outside, have a bigger venue or open some areas to fit better..maybe they like this intimate atmosphere but it did not work for half of the guests there just trying to get in and out. This review is not to burn the spot but to encourage them do better in the future. We didn't enjoy our experience here, we didn't like the interior decoration and the service was bad. It took them 45 minutes to give us our food and they didn't check on us even though they saw us waiting. The food was not good quality for the price, I would recommend buying frozen Daiya pizza instead. It's also not cool that this restaurant isn't fully vegan. Edit: For the record I support Trans rights, which I said in my original review. It seems to me that the business owner is very inappropriate with any customers who dislike his sub par business. While driving we ordered from Vegan Pizza Long Beach which is inside Jug Band Coffee but I guess is actually named Hypnotic Vegan Pizza Long Beach. We drove by expecting to see a pizza shop. On the second go around we got out of the car and walked, noticing a very discrete green sign letting us know we found our pizza. Something of a scavenger hunt. Walking in we were immediately hit with the welcoming smell of cooking pizza, foretelling what was to come. Pizza was very good. We ordered the Beyond 'Meat Lovers' and Hypnotic Balsamic pizzas. They were both outstanding and they surprisingly made a very well selected pairing. The superbly cooked crust was outstanding and provided a perfect base for the toppings; I have never had this style of crust before. It is thicker but not in a heavy sicilian style, whatever its called, it works. That the pizza was a little light on the sauce for our tastes was easily overlooked. Afterwards you can enjoy your pizza in the comforts of a neighborhood coffee shop We will definitely try to return, and even if you are not vegan you should make an effort to visit. read more

This pizza shop was extremely hidden away inside a coffee shop that we missed it a couple times before we finally saw a small sign indicating the pizza shop. My husband was craving pizza so we ordered the bbq chicken pizza and a side of garlic bread. I am usually the biggest hater of vegan cheese because the texture, taste, and stickiness is too much for me, so I didn't have high hopes that I'd like the pizza. How wrong I was! I don't know if it was the additions of toppings or whether they didn't overdo it on the cheese, but while it still had the usual vegan cheese stickiness, I was so pleasantly surprised by how nicely it was balanced by the rest of the pizza flavors. I have never craved vegan pizza since learning I hated almost every vegan cheese I've ever tried... until Hypnotic. I've been plant-based for almost 20 years, and even though the options have multiplied substantially, finding a good vegan pizza joint hasn't been as successful. This is why I wasn't expecting anything mind-blowing when I tried Hypnotic for the first time. I can't remember the last time I ordered pizza prior to Hypnotic-and now I'm on my third order from them in only a couple of weeks! I love the combinations they have on the menu. If you like something more traditional, they have those options as well as a "build your own." The crust is like a chewy Italian bread, and unlike any pizza I've had before. The ingredients are fresh, they're seasoned well, and I love the cheeses. I wish they had small options-Thankfully I'm a fan of cold pizza and I'll have some leftover for tomorrow:) read more

I have been wanting to try this vegan pizza place for SO long and I was, finally, in the area. The plan was to also pick up a pizza at Marri's Pizza for my non-vegan husband and toddler, but then learned this place also has non-vegan pizzas, so I decided to have them try this place also. The place is nice and service was good. The ambiance was quiet, as there were several people sitting at the tables working on their laptops. Unfortunately, we did not like these pizzas. To me, the vegan cheese just has an odd taste and texture. The pizza was just not edible, even when I scraped off the cheese. There was very little artichoke, also, which was disappointing. I got through half a piece, then just ate the crust and threw the rest in the trash. My husband said his pizza was "just okay" and our toddler only ate a few small bites. After eating 2 slices, my husband also threw his in the trash, and he NEVER throws away pizza! These 2 pizzas were right over $50, which makes this frustrating because that's a lot to spend on food that we won't eat. I was really hoping to love this place, as I haven't had pizza since Secret Vegan Pizza stopped going to LB area. So the owners contacted me and urged me to give the place another try. They offered us a free pizza for giving it another go. And I am so so glad we did ! We asked for light cheese and the result was amazing . We ordered the hypnotic balsamic . The lady working was so sweet . They not only comped the pizza, but also the garlic sticks and drinks. The pizza came out fast and fresh . You could definitely tell there was less cheese in the pizza right away . This, however, in no way took away from the flavor. The pizza was utterly amazing. It did not taste like vegan cheese at all ! It was perfectly melted . The crust was crisp with just enough bite to it. Vegan pizza in long beach is the best vegan pizzas this non vegan yelper has ever had. I was glad I decided to order there at the restaurant because I was able to meet the owner Kevin. So fyi pizza are limited to about 40 per day and Kevin has been selling out. I'm glad to be supporting a small business owner that makes pizza "like his mom makes" and likes sharing new and amazing vegan recipes. Breadsticks are one of my favorite things and if a pizza place can't pull that off it's a bad sign but the sticks here are soooo good! The dough they use for their pizza and breadsticks is great. Nice and thick, soft but chewy with crispy edges. In my opinion that's the ideal dough for pizza. The cheese they use is great, I don't like the daiya most vegan places use. Their toppings are used sparingly but the flavor is good and it feels like a good ratio when you're eating it. The salad is really good too, such a perfect mix to help balance out the heaviness of pizza. Everything was reasonably priced and they made the food really quick. The workers were very friendly and talked to me while I waited. The inside was clean and had lots of info on the different types of pizza that all sound good! I was pleasantly surprised with this vegan pizza joint. I ordered three pizzas not realizing the size. I could've ordered one or two for three of us but for some reason I thought they would be small. Totally ignored the "inches". Well leftovers for a few days. Yay!!! I don't have to cook! I ordered the El Matador, Beyond Meat Lovers, and the Classic Pepperoni. Our favorite was the Classic Pepperoni and I added beyond meat. Super delicious. My least favorite was the El Matador though my BF enjoyed it. It was good don't get me wrong but I could've gone without the "mayo" type sauce drizzled on top. There's something about pizza and mayo that is not pleasing to me but that's just me. When we order again, hands down the Classic Pepperoni with beyond meat added and just one not three! Lord I'm gonna turn into a giant slice by day 3! Overall, this is good vegan pizza! Vegan pizza LB tastes as good as it looks/sounds, maybe even better actually WOW. I think this is the best vegan pizza I've had so far. I kept seeing them pop up on my instagram feed, so I had to order for myself just to find out. I ordered from Uber eats on a Friday evening. I really had no clue where to start with the menu because it all looked and sounded so good. I randomly just decided to go with the beyond meat lovers pizza, and the fig breadsticks. The food blew all of my expectations away. The beyond meat lovers pizza had SO much beyond meatballs, sausage, and burger on it. I was so pleasantly surprised. The balsamic spiral really complimented the taste of all of the beyond products and the CHEESE OMG it was perfect. I've never had vevan mozzarella before, but it was so much like actual dairy mozzarella I was shocked. I usually don't even like meat lovers type pizzas, but this one is the exception, the gold standard for vegan pizza. I also got two sauces for the crust: ranch and chipotle. I liked both a lot, but I think I prefer the ranch. I definitely think it was homemade because I haven't seen vegan ranch that thick before. It went very well with the crust. The fig breadsticks tho. Those were equally delicious and amazing. The vanilla dipping sauce that it came with matched them perfectly. I don't recommend dipping them in the pizza sauce. The vanilla sauce is all you need. Super unique! If you like fig, you'll love these breadsticks. I highly recommend them. Overall, I loved vegan pizza LB! I will definitely order from them again. But the pizza really sealed the deal too. We got the El Matador and the Beyond Buffalo Chicken pizzas. Hands down the BEST v pizza ever. I've never had pizza taste this yummy. I ordered the Italian pizza and it was indeed presented very well but I just couldn't get into the taste. I enjoy vegan food on a regular but have struggled to find a good vegan pizza I like. Lucky us! The staff was incredibly kind and helpful on figuring out what pizza to get for the both of us. We ended up getting a half pepperoni, half veggie works pizza and when I tell you we were shocked! Good vegan pizza is hard to find, but this place does it right! Came in 20 minutes before close on a Saturday. Was told bluntly that they were closed. Actually didn't even tell me they were closed. Asked if I was there for pickup. Said no. I need to put in an order. Then was bluntly told they were closed. When I asked what time they closed I was told I was being aggressive. Meanwhile I kept trying to ask. It says online you close at 9pm what time do you close. Kept refusing to answer and kept telling me I was being aggressive. When I tried to communicate I was just trying to get a simple answer the worker kept being condescending and egging me on to imply I was being unreasonable. Eventually his coworker stepped in and claimed they used their last dough and don't have any more prepped to make another pizza. That seemed sketch but even if that was true that should be communicated if you're denying someone service during business hours. I will never come back here again. The passive aggression on top of no desire to explain to a potential customer why they just wasted 20-30 mins of their time to arrive in normal business hours. Just disrespectful all around.
