Lovely, welcoming ambiance and cool ocean breeze. My wife & I split the breakfast burrito and it was one of the best ones I've ever had. Incredibly delicious with layered flavors and a fantastic texture added by the thinly sliced Yukon potatoes. Service was super friendly and fast! I'm just sad I didn't have enough room to try something else. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Log Beach.

I have been wanting to come here for years after I heard about their amazing weekend brunch and thankfully, I found myself in the area last Sunday! Sadly, they are only open two days a week for only 5 hours each day, which makes it a bit hard to visit! Nevertheless, it was well worth the drive from Los Angeles! I was able to find parking on the side street right by the restaurant and parking seemed plentiful in the area. There is a gorgeous patio on the street, but I opted to dine inside to stay out of the sun. I was greeted by the very friendly staff upon arrival and they were quick to take my order. I opted for the pancakes, as I was in the mood for something sweet. The pancakes were very delicious and very pillowy. I loved the fruit and coconut whipped cream, which added an extra decadence to the meal. The pancakes were pretty light and while they were filling, it didn't feel heavy in my stomach. The other food I saw being brought out looked equally delicious. The vibes inside were very fun and vibrant and I felt great eating there. The restaurant was spacious but at the same time still felt cozy. The seating was very comfortable and relaxing. The staff checked on me frequently and were very helpful and personable. Payment is by cash, Zelle and Venmo so be sure to have one of those handy! The restaurant is also steps away from the beach and a walkway, so a perfect way to burn off the food after you eat! I hope to return the next time I'm in Long Beach!

Loved the vibe of this vegan place! Went here with a couple friends when we were visiting the area on a Saturday for lunch and it wasn't too busy. I shared zucchini bites and pickle fries with friends, and my partner and I shared the crispy chicken sandwich. I also got a Jamaica agua fresca which was really refreshing. Service was great as well.

Highly HIGHLY recommended - look no further if you're in Long Beach area or, tbh, southern California in general... it's truuuly THAT outstanding. Ambience: pretty much perfection, not too loud, gentle breezy (literally - it's near the bluffs overlooking the ocean in LB ), easy parking, never waited more than 10min at any time of day. The Staff: (( always.always )) on point, chef skills are otherworldly and I've enjoyed exactly EACH AND EVERY meal I've had here. So, g'head & stop whatever you're doing rn and *go.to.here* ASAP - you'// be so glad you did!

We used to get the vegan Monte Cristo and other delights when The Wild Chive (vegan) was a pop-up at the LB Farmers Market (years ago). This was our first time getting to visit their brick-and-mortar spot. Wow! Such a fun interior (disco balls are always a win!) and lots of seating inside as well as some shaded tables outside. The playlist was great! Before we left I went inside to ask about the playlist . They were so great to share it with me! The large kitchen window just adds to the cool interior. We were at Mangiafoglie (another vegan/plant-based restaurant) last night for dinner and saw a poster advertising Long Beach Food Scene Week. As soon as I saw that Wild Chive was advertising a Carne Asada Banh Mi (freshly-baked baguette, pickled carrots, sriracha, cilantro, Fresno chiles, crispy fried shallots, and house-made cilantro-lime aioli + a side salad) I knew that the MR. would want to go there for lunch. This was def the best Bahn Mi that he has ever had! I opted for something a with a little less spice! Oat Milk Berry Pancakes for me! Two fluffy oat milk, blueberry pancakes, topped with fresh strawberries, coco-whip, and dusted with powdered sugar. House-made vegan butter and maple syrup served on the side. Everyone working there was so friendly and had positive vibes!

This is why people choose Starbucks over small buisnesses. This was $5 and the smallest cup I've ever seen.

We went last weekend, and Kes gave us excellent service. I ordered a burrizo, which was spiced well. As a carnivore, I thoroughly enjoyed it, which was a gentle surprise. I loved the rainbow flags. Great way to start June. Beautiful ambiance.

Food was very delicious and I will come back again to try something different. The mushroom sandwich was very meaty tasting and seasoned great with some delicious homemade bread. The soju-Rita was also very delicious and a great price at $9. My negatives were the service. It was sooo slow!!! They asked if I wanted ketchup with my fries but then never brought it. Unless you flag someone down you won't be helped. The music was also so loud you can't carry a conversation even outside. The seating was also uncomfortable, the bench was straight up at a 90 degree angle and the boards were uneven to sit on.

    Delicious burrizo!

I've had this spot bookmarked for a few years and I'm mad that I waited so long to try it. The brunch menu was simple and easy to choose from, which I appreciated. The country breakfast and the burizzo were both delicious. I expected them to taste similar, but they both had their own unique flavor profile. The texture on the burizzo tortilla was perfection. Areli gave us great recommendations and fast service. She and another lass helped us get rid of some frustrating hiccups. They tried scaring tactics, mental games and finally a shot of hot sauce, which did the trick. They went above and beyond and made The Wild Chive a new favorite Long Beach spot. The sidewalk seating was very relaxing and dog friendly , very appreciated as well. It's all street parking, but it wasn't that hard to find a spot even on a Saturday at noon. Clean restrooms too!

I'm always on the lookout for a good brunch spot, and The Wild Chive totally delivered. The vibe is unmatched--great music, a friendly and diverse staff, and a menu full of affordable, flavorful vegan dishes. Their to-go cafe serves amazing coffee, and the space is super inclusive: dog-friendly, LGBTQ+ friendly, and proudly POC & women-owned. Street parking is available nearby, so getting there is a breeze. My only negative? I wish they were open more often because they're that good! I think they rotate their menu, too--last time I went, I tried their Monte Cristo sandwich, but it wasn't on the menu this time. Still, I'm already looking forward to going back! Food: don't know that vegan food can taste so good!! I love the grilled burizzo, crispy zucchini bites and the French toast!! My top 3. Service: was great!! Staff are very friendly and attentive!! Ambiance: very unique with its mural on the ways with a twist of modern, yet with political view.

Wild Chive remains my favorite restaurant since trying it for the first time a year ago. When I'm in town, I have to come once a week. Since going vegan a few years ago, it's been hard to find vegan restaurants that I enjoy, but not Wild Chive. Truly knocks it out of the park every time. Exceptional flavor, diverse menu, and stellar service.

Hi Jade, It will be making a come back this fall/winter. Thank you!

They have changed their reservation policy multiple times since the brick and mortar opened. And now their phone number doesn't seem to work. Does anyone know if we need a reservation or if they accept walk ins?

Are there any regular gluten free options?

Yes! They a lot! My favorite is the wafflelito, the waffles are made out of corn! So good!!!

It's a short walk to both Bixby Park and the Bluff.

Where can I get their food?????? ive been trying for a year

They used to be at the Long Beach Marina farmers market. They're opening up a brick and mortar in Feb. sometime. Check their IG to keep updated.

Does the restaurant use nuts at all for dishes ? If so, are they careful to accommodate someone who has nut allergies (including dairy and egg)? Thanks!?

They are there every Sunday morning from 9am-2pm and Thursday evenings after 5pm. Follow them on IG for their current hours and specials!

    Hi! What's the address?

Visually, the burger was impressive and looked exactly like something you'd want to dig into. However, the salt level was overwhelming to the point where I genuinely could not finish it. What made matters worse was that our server was not attentive with refilling our waters, and when you're working through an extremely salty dish, hydration isn't optional. I left the meal feeling dehydrated and honestly a little frustrated. The bright spot of the visit was the Brussels sprouts, which were genuinely well done and showed some real kitchen care. If I were to return, I'd probably stick to the vegetable sides. For a restaurant with a 4 PM lull and minimal table traffic, there's no excuse for that level of inattentiveness. A simple water refill and a quick check in would have saved the experience. As it stands, the combination of an over salted entrée and absent service made for a tough sell on the value. If you're in the area craving a burger, you might want to save your money and head down the street to Louis Burger instead. Ellie's may shine in other areas; I've heard good things about the pasta, but this particular visit missed the mark.

This is probably why most people came in with online/phone orders for pickup and got the heck out of there in a hurry. Fries are okay at best but the onion rings are fantastic! I don't recommend the smash style burger because it's smaller and doesn't come with the fixings, but if that's your thing than by all means enjoy. I got the backyard bbq burger and it was very tasty. Staff was also very friendly - when they could be seen at least, but it was one cashier/server with two guys in the kitchen and although it's a small hole in the wall place there is still plenty to do if you're understaffed so I'm not even mad about it. Originally, we were going to try to hit up Zuzu's petal, but the line was ridiculously long and the parking was a nightmare, so I decided to take her to my 2nd choice, which was Kin Long. I thought it would be a run-of-the-mill local, Thai place with food that is more homestyle and tastes slightly above average to hit the Thai food fix. Boy, was I wrong! First and foremost, they have their own parking lot, so YAY! It's starting to sound like my standards are low, but they aren't. OMG- their restroom is clean! JK. From the outside, it looked nice enough, but I was impressed when we entered. It had a comfy, modern, clean, and beachy elegance to it (the lights and that chandelier) without it being stuffy or looking disjointed in terms of interior decor. Servers were very polite and accommodating. I let my friend order since she was the guest. She ordered the garlic shrimp noodles and scampi shrimp to share, and the Thai tea drink with the ice cream bar. I ordered 3 cocktails (Jalapeno + tamarind, Lychee, and Thai tea martini) and they were all good (not overly sweet and weak sauce, but balanced, tasty, and had the right amount of buzz). We had a light lunch since we had AYCE hot pot later that evening (Mikiya - yes I'm a good host). The garlic noodles exceeded my expectations - shrimp were huge, seasoned well, and just cooked through, the noodles were broad, float, tender, and had a slight chewiness to it. The scampi shrimp were huge, tasty, succulent, and cooked perfectly (not surprised since the shrimp with the garlic noodles were so good). NOTHING WAS OVERCOOKED OR MADE ME GO.... "MEH...." and I've been to many Thai restaurants even the highly stylized kitschy ones like Farmhouse Thai in SF. The waiters were very attentive. They made their rounds to make sure waters were filled and all guests were taken care of. It helps they were also handsome too! LOL. I generally find many places nice in the competitive LA, but not nice enough for me to travel from the SGV. However, I will go out of my way to visit KL again to try the rest of their menu (drunken noodles, pork jerky, crab fried rice, papaya salad, etc.) because they left a good impression with me. Prices are reasonable and the quality of food, cocktails, clean restrooms, ambiance was coastal modern, has its own designated parking lot, and service was lovely.

My family and I were heading to the Aquarium of the Pacific and wanted to find a good dinner spot…read morenearby afterward. I came across this place on TikTok because of their famous Thai tea popsicle, so naturally I had high hopes. First off, we got incredibly lucky with parking. I can definitely see how parking could be a nightmare since the lot is tiny, so consider finding a spot part of the dining experience. When we arrived, the inside was cute and seemed clean. We were seated outside, which also looked nice at first glance, but I noticed quite a few spider webs around the windows. My boyfriend even felt webs brushing against his arm while we were sitting there, which wasn't exactly the extra ambiance we were expecting. We ordered quite a bit: spicy Pad Thai, Bang Bang Shrimp, Pad See Ew, mango sticky rice, and of course the Thai tea with the popsicle. I'll give credit where it's due. The Bang Bang Shrimp was easily the best thing we ordered and was absolutely delicious. The Thai tea popsicle also lived up to the TikTok hype, although the actual Thai tea itself was on the sweeter side. If you love sugar, you'll probably enjoy it. My biggest complaint with the food was the spicy Pad Thai. The flavor was great, but it came with what felt like a whole chicken farm and a cameo appearance from the noodles. I ordered Pad Thai, not chicken with noodle garnish. The Pad See Ew was also noticeably salty. Now you're probably wondering why I'm giving this place a low rating if most of the food was decent. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the meal. When it was time to pay, my aunt was figuring out how much everyone needed to Zelle her since the restaurant only allows a maximum of two cards for split payments. While we were trying to do the math, our waiter stood over us watching the payment screen like he was supervising a final exam. He was clearly waiting to make sure a tip was entered. My aunt politely asked him to give us a minute, and thankfully he walked away. Maybe when you see a family actively calculating a bill, that's your cue to...actually give them a minute. Keep in mind we also tipped 20% despite all this. Throughout the meal, he did stop by our table, but it rarely felt like he was checking in to make sure everything was okay. If anything I felt rushed. He also gave off that "customer service smile" that disappears the moment you stop looking. The cherry on top for me happened as we were leaving. We had been sitting on the outdoor patio talking for a bit after paying, which is pretty normal for my family. Before leaving, I went inside to ask where the restroom was. The guy and girl behind the bar looked at each other, laughed, and then asked if I was a paying customer. Keep in mind, I was literally holding a to-go bag with leftovers from the restaurant. I responded, "Yeah, I just finished eating," while holding up the bag that made it painfully obvious. Only then did they tell me where the restroom was. Nothing says "valued customer" quite like being interrogated about whether you actually ate there while carrying your leftovers. It's unfortunate because the food had some highlights, and the restaurant itself has a cute atmosphere. But the service made it feel like customers are viewed more as transactions than guests. Between hovering over us during payment and questioning whether I even belonged there after spending money, I left feeling more unwelcomed than satisfied. I'll happily support a restaurant that appreciates my business instead of making me feel like I have to prove I earned the right to use the restroom after paying for dinner.

I started with a cup of their beef and barley soup. My wife and I both make this at home from scratch and we're both impressed by theirs. My wife took a taste of mine and instantly ordered her own. Very rich and flavorful. I kept looking at photos of their take on chicken and waffles and knew I had to try it. Seriously epic and was good as it looked. They coated the chicken in a chili rub that gave it a sweet and spicy flavor when paired with their maple syrup. Served on top of a waffle and topped with an egg. I loved it and would probably order again on my next visit. My wife had the American plate which was your classic eggs, bacon, potatoes, and sourdough toast combo. High quality ingredients elevated it beyond your typical diner food. Drinks were great too. I had their house made bloody mary which had a nice kick to it. My wife had their brunch version of a Corpse Reviver cocktail. After our meals were done we finished with an Irish coffee since everyone was ordering them. Perfect service, relaxing atmosphere, and delicious food will definitely have me returning very soon! Parking is free for 2 hours at the nearby garage on 3rd and is a very short walk. The closer garage on Broadway is not free. You can make restaurant reservations on their website but it wasn't needed when we went.

It's about how management handled it. We made a reservation three days in advance to watch the Mexico World Cup match. We arrived 10 min early to our reservation in anticipation of the crowds. We received confirmation by both email and text, but when we arrived, we were told there was no reservation and "nothing they could do." Despite showing proof of our confirmed reservation, they refused to honor it and told us there were no tables available. Seconds later, another group walked up and asked to join the waitlist, and he gladly added them. I then asked why we couldn't be added--considering we had a confirmed reservation--and only then did he put us on the list. When a restaurant makes a mistake, the bare minimum is trying to make it right. We should have been given priority on the waitlist. Instead, after nearly two hours of waiting, we were still ninth in line even though the wait time for our table size showed 0 minutes. We left without ever being seated. Thankfully before the match began, we walked over to Broken Spirits (5 min walk away) where they seated us within 15 minutes and even gave us complimentary drinks to celebrate the game. The difference in hospitality was incredible. This wasn't my first disappointing experience here, either. On a previous visit, I waited outside to be seated for so long that I eventually gave up and seated myself at the bar. To make matters worse, the food and drinks don't justify the price. Cocktails are around $20, filled with ice, and underwhelming. As a customer, I left Ordinarie feeling dismissed and disrespected. Between the poor service, overpriced menu, and management's complete lack of accountability, I won't be returning. If you're in the DTLB area, I would recommend better drinks/better service at Broken Spirits or Midnight Oil :)

***UPDATE FOLLOWING DIANA M'S *EDITED* RESPONSE***…read more After deleting her prior response to this review, she is now just focusing on the complaint about the online service fee. I never suggested that it was a "hidden fee", I just pointed out that it is a very high fee for ordering online. As pointed out before, ordering online directly from a restaurant does not usually incur a fee, let alone a $6 fee. If Diana feels that ordering online is so onerous, then maybe she should deactivate that feature and encourage her customers to phone in their orders. Diana should also consider not badgering customers that did not have a good experience with her restaurant and consider taking some classes in Customer Service 101. It's not a good way to run a business and the fastest way to lose customers. ***UPDATE FOLLOWING DIANA M's RESPONSE*** It's unfortunate that the owner responded with excuses and condescension. A simple "Hey, sorry for the mishap, we will make sure it won't happen again" would have sufficed. At least that way, she likely would have had a returning customer since the food is good. But now, no way Jose. And the $5.00 online service fee is egregious. I order quite a bit online and always try to order directly through the restaurants website to avoid fees. I don't know if any other restaurants that charge fees to order online unless there is a delivery involved. --------------------------- Well, not sure what to say. We put in an online order last night, which went through with a $4.95 service fee. (We ordered through their direct site rather than a third party sight to save on fees) If that wasn't bad enough, I showed up at the designated pick up time, and the place was closed. WTF? About an hour later, we were refunded our money, but why is the website taking orders and collecting payments when you're not even open? Talk about inconvenience. And clearly their posted operating hours are inconsistent.

The service was quick, and the menu was easy to order from. The only downside is that parking can be a little difficult to find, but there is street parking and nearby parking lots around the restaurant. I also loved the wall art and overall vibe. Highly recommend checking this place out! We ordered: * Canned Watermelon Frusecha from the fridge - $3.99 * Quesarito Burrito with asada - $19.99 * Added Flamin' Hot Cheetos, nacho cheese, and dusting for an extra $3.99 * Hot Cheetos Balls with sour cream - $20.99

I wanted to dine in; however, just a long countertop with indoor seating was available along with some outside tables on the sidewalk; however, I felt that Cherry Ave was too close to the sidewalk and felt unsafe sitting there so we took our food to go. My BFF and I both ordered the chicken kebab plate and the chicken breast pieces were very salty. The hummus was waxy and the rice seemed more on the Spanish rice side (we figured they cooked on the same grill as their Mexican orders. Although we weren't impressed with their Med food, the portions are plentiful. I wouldn't mind trying their Mexican food on another day so that my change my perception.
