Open a bit later than other places, I was able to pop in for take out right before they closed. The space was inviting and had nice decor which I could at least admire as it took about 10 mins to prepare my order. Parking is tough. This place is great for those who can walk there, but honestly, I got extremely lucky finding a place to park in the evening. Something I will have to keep in mind next time. As I dived into my meal, I was impressed that another sushi spots holds their own with the best of LB. A bit different in combinations, but all worked nicely. This sushi spot is such a hidden gem in Long Beach. Our server was absolutely incredible. She was taking orders, cleaning tables, running food, and dealing with nonstop DoorDash and Grubhub drivers shoving their phones in her face. Despite handling everything on her own, she never missed a beat. She noticed when we were out of ginger, kept our water glasses full, and was so attentive the entire time. I regret not getting her name, but I'll definitely update this review once I do. The entire restaurant was such a vibe and honestly reminded me of my trip to Japan. The fish was incredibly fresh and practically melted in my mouth. They also have a great drink selection at really reasonable prices. Happened to be in Long Beach for family vacation. It's a small place and kind of easy to miss because it says café coffee, etc. on the front window and we weren't sure if you were in the right spot. I did a carry out order but you can sit inside or outside they where pretty empty I had a little hard time finding the place but I also didn't use gps parking is a bit difficult as it's surrounded by apartments and the parking spots are pushed out into the street, the place is a quiet mind kind of vibe there's music videos playing on a tv screen behind the cashier I ordered a few things out of my comfort zone over all everything was good for an appetizer I ordered the dragon balls the cashier said that was one of their popular choices and I could see why it had spicy crab wrapped with masago green onion and a lemon slice on the bottom the masago gave it a great texture addition and a pop of flavor , then I had the tiger roll it's one of my basic favs it was good the spicy mayo on the side gave it a little creamy texture and taste , the Atlantic roll the cashier said was one of their popular choices for me it just alright I wish the salmon had a little salt and pepper on with a hint of lemon and garlic as the salmon tasted a bit dried out finally a spicy baked California roll with spicy mayo it was good a hint of cream cheese would've sent it over all I say go check it out the pricing was worth it read more

Where to even begin!! This place had been on my list to try since they have lots of vegan options and we finally made it out. There are 4 partners in the restaurant and one of them was also our server for the night. He greeted us warmly and quickly brought water and menus. We ordered the crispy rice with avocado, popcorn roll and tofu crunchy roll. When we were ordering he told us about an item they're trying which was a vegan roll with yellow curry sauce and mock shrimp so we said we'll give it a try. Each item was SO good. If you like wasabi flavor the crispy rice with avocado has a wasabi vinaigrette. The tofu crunchy roll was fresh and presentation was so nice. The popcorn roll has tempura cauliflower on top with a spicy mayo drizzle which was almost like 2 dishes in one. And finally the trial item of yellow curry roll with mock shrimp was my favorite. It was SO good and i loved the Thai and sushi fusion. Turns out some of the restaurant partners are Thai so they put a unique spin on this roll to try something new. We got to chat with the partner and he told us about his story in the restaurant business and how they like to experiment with different items to change up the menu. Highly highly recommend checking this place out. The restaurant is super clean and friendly ambiance. The staff are so so kind and the food was awesome. First was the room-temperature white wine, then the loud bug zapper that startled me, then the wasabi in a little plastic condiment pouch like at the grocery store. The worst though was the texture of the shells on the shrimp in my sushi roll just made me gag. I've never had shells still on shrimp before but when I called they told me it's supposed to be like that. Some parts of the roll was just empty fried shell! I've been coming here for years and love that I have Ramen available to me walking distance from where I live. I've had both the standard and vegan ramen and have been pleased with both. I've had had both standard sushi rolls and vegan and have also been pleased with both. Service is here is always top notch. When you're here, you definitely get a neighborhood community vibe. Last time I dined here, Frank, who works at the Thai restaurant next door, came in, jokingly accusing of cheating on him while eating here while our Bluebird server laughed.
