They made me feel relaxed and comfortable. During the cryotherapy, David talked with me to help me feel at ease and make the time go by quickly as I increasingly got more cold. Who gives a massage in a bright ass room?! No background music. I laid down and she acted like she had never given a massage before. Immediately goes in aggressively and just kept right on going even when I said "ohh!!" This is NOT how massages are done. They always start slow and feel what's going on with your muscles and work their way into deep pressure. She was moving her hands so fast and she dove right in like she was scrubbing barnacles off a whale. Then she asked what my job was, and there are very specific reasons why I do not like talking about what I do, and I deflected VERY politely in the most non confrontational way possible and let her know I prefer to just relax during my treatment and I'm not very chatty. She barked "I NEED to know for your muscles. Because you are very tight. Are you lifting, pushing??" (No shit Sherlock, I know my muscles are tight, that's why I'm here.) I said "No, it's nothing physical like that." I guess she couldn't hear me and she loudly said "EXCUSE ME?" which was super abrasive. I told her I wanted to cancel and just leave because I was so uncomfortable. I had already told her that my last massage was two months ago, but she asked "Have you ever had a massage before??" Implying that it was me that didn't understand the process. I said "Oh yes. HUNDREDS." On her way out the door she flipped on the lights full blast, and that pettiness was not lost on me. The front desk lady came to the door to ask me what happened and as I was explaining, Jo Ann pops her head around the corner and starts defending herself! I had to tell her that I did not want to talk to her anymore and she reluctantly went down the hall. On top of this, the place is janky. It does NOT feel like any spa or massage studio I've ever been to. Cheap. They had space heaters everywhere and said the heat was broken and had been for a while. Said they were waiting to "get enough money to fix it." Uhhhh okayyy. What an absolute shitshow. Jo Ann is a rude bitch with zero understanding of standard practices within the field of massage therapy. They did refund my money which was the only good part.

My wonderful skin care specialist then proceeded to give a soothing facial, peaceful arm & hand massage before proceeding to a cupping session on the facial area. To complete the stay, we then headed off to complete my visit with a sound experience combined with light therapy to assist with calming the skin. It gets slippery esp with all the water dripping from people as they transition spaces. Overall I did enjoy my time and found 90 mins was the perfect amount of time. Long enough to feel luxurious but short enough my fingers didn't get pruney. The staff is really super helpful and thoughtful. I appreciate the auto 20% tip as it makes things more straightforward. Even when there was a lot of people in the small sanctuary spaces (10-20 clients), it still felt super peaceful bc everyone is respectful and quiet. People also come in waves, so at times it felt very full and at other times I had a pool all to myself. The price point makes complete sense given all they offer, but I'm a little too constrained financially to do this more than just a few times in my life.

They started my room at 130º, but you can adjust this to what feels right for you. Once you start the time anc are in the booth you can relax. Just sit back and watch tv and relax. I had a good sweat going on during my session. Afterward, the eucalyptus cold towel was a nice touch and a nice way to cool down. I will likely go back. I can see how amazing this would be on a winter day, where you just need to get some of the bad out.

You can also watch TV if you choose. You are given towels and a cool eucalyptus washcloth to use after the session. I always leave very refreshed and can't wait for my next session. If we had that room the whole time, they should've given us the snack at the beginning so we had the whole time to eat it.. we each had at least two services. I had the massage and it was very average. The lady didn't know where my trigger points were at all and was just massaging with no regard for my personal trigger points. Then when I laid face up, she put a wet warm towel on my face and by the end of it, it was cold and felt like gross wet towel on my face. Also that evening, I had red bumps all over my face. And she completely fucked up my neck. She had no idea where trigger points in my neck were either and was just pushing way too hard on all the wrong spots. It was not great. The sauna can fit two people and you could get on YouTube and play whatever music you like. Which was nice. But I don't see the benefit in the sauna at all. Very odd. Anyways, the other girls seemed to enjoy their services for the most part so at least that's a plus. But I will definitely not be coming back.

She specializes in ways to help each patient age in a healthy way. There are skin care options, anti-aging services, organic products, supplements & natural remedies, and more offered for sale as well. They also offer more "beauty" type services if that is your thing as well. They recently launched a safe, clean, medical pedicure service. This service is safe for diabetics, chemotherapy patients, those who are immune compromised (like myself), and include polishes that are free of Toluene, Formaldehyde, Resin, DBP and Camphor. If you are interested in a different approach to your health and how you might age more gracefully, and gain energy - I would suggest checking out their website, calling to ask questions, & just stopping by in person. After I had spent years in and out of hospitals, trying multiple medications with varying degrees of horrible side effects and generally feeling awful all it took was a few appointments with Dr Lum and my symptoms drastically improved. This is personal and painful but read on if you have crohns. I went from having 8-10 bowel movements a day and recurrent painful fistulas to using the bathroom a normal 2 or 3 times a day and having full fistula healing without surgery. If you have crohns you need to see Dr. Lum.
