This review is a great pleasure for me to write for my first time at Kla sanctuary. I was excited…read moreto try this as the yelp reviews looked great and promising. I had scheduled to do a sanctuary pass 90 minutes and a 90 minute massage. The pricing was reasonable. I was made aware to come two hours prior to my scheduled appointment for my massage parking around the building was available on street and under the bridge nearby. I was able to find a parking spot walking distance and when I arrived, I was welcomed in by the host I had let them know that it was my first time and they mentioned that I was a few minutes early. They said that I could go to the conjoined café next-door while I wait for my appointment time as I stopped by. I was able to get a Matcha with coconut water, pink tea leaves and enjoy my space. The barista were very friendly and ensure that I was happy with my choice and made sure that everything was perfect. Once it was my time for my sanctuary pass. The receptionist came to the café to bring me up and walked me through the steps they gave me sandals to change into and held my shoes for me. They showed me to the first room where I would wait for my provider to show me around once I got inside they went over how the shower works the lockers bathroom and they also walked me through to show me how the pools work the saunas the steam room and also they had a Himalayan salt exfoliate for when you want to scrub overall, I made the most of my experience and tried all the amenities. They had a hot bath, a cold bath, a warm bath, and even a mineral bath, which all of them were amazing my favorite part was they don't overbooked too many people at once it was only me and a couple the entire time I was there which was nice and made it very relaxing and peaceful. They even had tea and water to make sure you were hydrated and facial mist three different options to choose from I was extremely relaxed by the time it was my massage appointment. Denise was amazing and showed me to the shower so I can rinse before my massage and let me know what was needed before my provider. Tiffany helped me out with my massage. Tiffany showed up and was very kind. I'm very welcoming. I haven't had a massage in a long time and Tiffany definitely knew what she was doing. She found all the spots that needed to be massaged. I love that she was patient and kind yet strong handed and absolutely amazing. She made sure that I was comfortable and took her time. She was communicated and overall the best massage I've ever had. I highly recommend trying. Kla.

What to bring: - swimsuit…read more - any hair products you want to use after showering - plenty of time to slowly transition out (and enjoy the Selah cafe next door) What they have for you: - plenty of towels - bathrobe - rubber spa shoes (for wet or dry areas) - powder room with moisturizer, hair dryer, lotion, deodorant, eye drops, ear swab - bathroom with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash - large locker with built-in lock - water and hot tea It worked well for me. However I noticed that despite their ADA compliance, it's still a little tricky for people who might have mobility issues to navigate. It gets slippery esp with all the water dripping from people as they transition spaces. Overall I did enjoy my time and found 90 mins was the perfect amount of time. Long enough to feel luxurious but short enough my fingers didn't get pruney. The staff is really super helpful and thoughtful. I appreciate the auto 20% tip as it makes things more straightforward. Even when there was a lot of people in the small sanctuary spaces (10-20 clients), it still felt super peaceful bc everyone is respectful and quiet. People also come in waves, so at times it felt very full and at other times I had a pool all to myself. The price point makes complete sense given all they offer, but I'm a little too constrained financially to do this more than just a few times in my life.

    1. They charge you $10 per class if you don't verbally and manually checkin with the instructor…read more I've been charged $10 for classes that I even attended and was a few minutes late to. You're better off not signing up and just walking in. 2. Brining guests is a complete hassle and you're charged a non refundable fee of $25 if life changes happen and you don't come with a guest that day. On several occasions I was denied guests even tho it was well before the required 24hour application to request them. On multiple occasions my requests were completely ignored and went unreported to even if they were placed 72hours in advance. I was frequently traveling to KC for work and sports only to be hassled when my wife visited from LA stating that I reached my cap for local guest passes (mind you, she lives in California full time and would visit me about once or twice a month for a weekend) 3. Steam room in women's bathroom is utterly disgusting and wasn't cleaned since I was there over a several month period, how'd I know? The dirt streaks and giant clump of hair that just remained of the floor for over 6months 4. Coming from Los Angeles and the Heimat gym where I pay $350/month, I was excited to try this gym... but this gym is clearly nothing but a wanna-be elite gym. The best part of this place is the flavored water in the women's locker room- And maybe the pools in the summer but good luck finding parking 5. Looking to bring up an issue with the staff and escalate it? Don't worry, they're happy to ignore you. Trust me, you're not gonna miss this place. Only thing it's memorable for is being complicated while trying to use its perks and over complicated. The 2 stars are for the water and the equipment. The cleaning staff is super nice tho!

However, it can get busy there and the hot tub chlorine does sting my eyes a bit. There is also a steam and dry sauna there (both men and women in there). Parking is also difficult to find close by with how many people go there now. The women's locker room was nice, but honestly I expected the showers to be nicer and more modern. We stopped by the cafe on the way out. I tried the grilled cheese and tomato soup. The grilled cheese had apples in it and had good flavor. However, the tomato soup just tasted like thick, sour, tomato paste. It was not creamy like typical tomato soup.

There are also many options to customize this for exactly what you need. I did a late on Friday afternoon session and I felt amazing walking out afterwards. They started my room at 130º, but you can adjust this to what feels right for you. Once you start the time anc are in the booth you can relax. Just sit back and watch tv and relax. I had a good sweat going on during my session. Afterward, the eucalyptus cold towel was a nice touch and a nice way to cool down. I will likely go back. I can see how amazing this would be on a winter day, where you just need to get some of the bad out.

She gave a great explanation of the benefits and the way for me to get the best out of my experience. I signed up for the unlimited week after which I eagerly signed up for a monthly membership. You have a choice of pay each time, unlimited or 8/month option. Every session, I turn on the Bluetooth connected TV to play music and get to spend 40 minutes reading or meditating. You can also watch TV if you choose. You are given towels and a cool eucalyptus washcloth to use after the session. I always leave very refreshed and can't wait for my next session. The staff is great and make me feel welcome and appreciated.
