The only mishap I really had with HOM is that I did not receive the text message the day before to confirm my installation and provide me with my install window. I called HOM at 9am and Angie returned my call within the hour to let me know that my install window was between 12pm-2pm appologized for me not receiving the text message and said she would escalate with their IT department. Jorge called me at 1:30pm to let me know he would arrive in 25 minutes, and he did. He and his helper were fantastic, very careful with my furniture. I live in a smaller place but they were very creative on how to get furniture from one room to the other. While I was waiting I went down the rabbit hole of 1 star reviews so I was nervous. But I can tell you I can not be any happier! Thank you Home Depot and HOM for delivering a stress free experience, I am very satisfied!

New vinyl in hallway - notice the insane number of angles. The installer did a great job of matching all it up nicely.

I had old tile floor removed and new vinyl plank installed in my hallway, office and kitchen. The installation team was really good. They were quick and did a beautiful job. The lead installer convinced me to not replace a section of floor in my laundry room since he felt that vinyl would create problems, which resulted in me saving a few dollars on my new floor and avoiding a future problem. I was actually surprised at how fast they were, and the quality of the installation work was great. I am glad I got the installation team I got...since that can make all the difference between a great or terrible experience. I am only giving 4 stars now because when I had the rest of my condo floors replaced by HOM 4 years ago I had to "fire" the first crew they sent because they seemed to not know what they were doing. I got a different installer and they floors turned out good -- but it only underscores the criticality of getting a good installation team.

Half-inch gaps between wall and tile

Update: after several complaints, calls, and emails with several people in the company, they were willing to put in quarter rounds to fill in the half-inch gaps between the wall and tile, free labor, but we had to pay for materials. The quarter rounds look good. I agree with the previous reviewer that they will not take responsibility for their mistakes, but the manager was at least willing to admit that the installers made a mistake in leaving half-inch gaps between the tile and wall and put quarter rounds in, and us having to pay for materials only.

We purchased new carpet through Home Depot and HOM Solutions contracts with them to install in our area. Overall, everything went fabulously and we're considering them for additional flooring projects. It's 2021 and there are lots of supply shortages, but HOM Solutions gave me a direct number to my service support person and she was great - even calling on a Saturday to confirm dates! When install day came, the installing crew called early to let us know they'd be here shortly and were polite, friendly, clean, and extremely skilled and hard workers. Before they started they checked they brought the right carpet. They removed all of the existing carpet and laid new carpet from about 9:30a-3p, not stopping for lunch. They did a WONDERFUL job and vacuumed and swept up behind themselves. They went above and beyond in letting my 4yo daughter watch the process and chatted with her. Also a customer service rep from HOM solutions stopped by to ensure everything was going well and make sure the installers had everything they needed. The carpet looks and feels fantastic! The install was on time and smooth. We couldn't be happier!

The worst experience you will ever had with them. Purchased the carpet from Home-depot because the free installation and that's where the nightmare occurred. 2 customer representative tried argue with me while it's completely their fault, funny. 1. The installation done poorly with all the seems and bumps, initially they told us it's normal until I escalated the issue. They sent a quality guy and confirmed all the carpet will need to be replaced. Ya, no apology no compensation just simply wasting my time. 2. They damaged my stairs and said it's normal at the begining too. 3. When the reinstallion date confirmed multiple times, they called me in the morning told me they didn't receive the diagram for the floor plan which is completely BS. So the date has been rescheduled. Summary: they are poorly operating company with bad skills. No time management, no skills. Don't give any faith in them, they will scroll you.

We purchased carpet through Home Depot for our newly finished basement, and a HOM Solutions team did the install. The install team was professional, polite and carpeted the whole basement efficiently and quickly. Prior to starting, the lead guy walked me through his understanding of the project and confirmed he had the right assumptions and material. Once finished, he walked me through the completed product, pointed out seams and off they went. Everything looks great, we're very happy with our experience!

Wish I could give zero stars. Worst customer experience experience of my life. They have a policy of not answering phones. You can call a million times and never get through. They will call you back whenever they want; and it WON"T be in a timely manner. You will spend hours on the phone the days go install because the company hasn't clearly explained to the installer what to do and no one has any idea what is going on. They say it is routine to cut your carpet outside - in my case in a parking lot that is EXTREMELY dirty, tons of leaves, dog piss and puddles. They don't have plastic or tarp they just want to unroll your carpet right on the ground and cut. I got to spend another hour trying to explain that's unacceptable and I had to go buy plastic to lay down. Then they damage your walls when ripping out your old carpet. Apparently (according to the warranty department) if your wall has ever been painted then that paint sticks to the old carpet and rips off the paint and drywall- even if you paid $$$ to a professional painting company that took measures to protect your carpet, that's their story and they stick to it. They have no responsibility for it and will not repair it. They also won't warn you this will happen. Literally the worst experience form the very start to the bitter end. I will NEVER use them again or let anyone I know use them. Hopefully they are out of business very soon. Home Depot needs to do better and use a reputable company for their flooring install. One who can actually do a good job and stand behind their work.

After disappointing experiences with a number of other fabricators over the last few years (oh, the…read morestories!), DMK Marble & Granite was finally recommended to me by trusted friends who had just completed a project with them. After initially encountering a few minor hiccups, Daniel, the owner, escalated my small, but detail-oriented projects and began to oversee them personally. From that point forward, everything moved quickly and smoothly with excellent communications and a beautiful end result. I quickly learned that Daniel and his fabrication team are highly skilled, honest and upfront about everything (from what is possible, to timing, scheduling and pricing), and most of all, they stayed on top of the process from beginning to end. Their collective attention to detail, precise measurements, extra care while inside my home, and competitive pricing were also critical to me. As a result, I can confidently recommend DMK to anyone with quartz or stone projects large or small. (The word "integrity" comes to mind.) Not only is their team of fabricators and designers highly experienced, they are creative, talented and honest too--not an easy combination to find today. Bottom line? They earnestly strive to do a great job, take great pride in their work, and go the extra mile to make sure your projects are not only done well, but that you are thrilled with the results. I know I am, and look forward to not only recommending them to others, but working with them again. Choose carefully. These projects are pricey and an investment you will live with for a long time. Pick a fabricator you can trust. You won't regret choosing DMK! (A special thanks to Daniel, Ben, Dimitri, Alex, Vadim and all the others who were involved in making this a smooth, affordable, fun and pleasant experience that resulted in a number of stunning upgrades to my artful home!)

They got maybe half of that right, and most of the work was just "fine" in the end. First off, someone came by and did an appreciably detailed job finding out what work I wanted done, taking pictures, and giving me a quote. But when the worker showed up to do the job, he seemed to not really know what I wanted done, with none of the materials, then disappeared for hours with no updates, going to different Home Depots to get everything he needed. He ended up really rushing the work to finish by the end of the day. Project 1: installing a new fence gate post which had come out of the ground. The new post was secured properly, but he didn't actually make it so the gate latched, because who would want that, right? It wasn't too hard to fix that myself, but not a great start. Project 2: installing a new exterior crawl space door. Initially he installed it so that it only opened a few inches before getting stuck on the patio bricks. I had to clarify that, uh, yes, I do want to be able to open this door all the way, so he redid it. Project 3: expending a too-tiny attic hatch so that a normal sized person could actually get through it. This was the last thing he did during the day, and it was rushed and came out very shoddy. It ended up being just a piece of unfinished plywood, held in place by a hinge and magnets. And the magnets were so weak that the new hatch kept falling open on its own. I had to get him to come back another day to install some trim to make it look nice, and some extra magnets for it to actually stay shut. (Of course, they charged me for this second trip.) All of these were kind of shoddy, but I wasn't going to complain until the long-term results of Project 4: installing hand rails on the steps to my basement. I was actually happy with the results of this one... until less than a year later, when one of the hand rails pulled out of the wall. It turns out the worker secured them to the wall using only drywall anchors (pictured). I don't care what the box says, these things aren't even good enough to hold a TV on the wall, much less support the weight of a person. And none of the people who live here weigh over 160lbs, so a heavier person probably would've taken it down much faster. This is both poor workmanship and dangerous. Maybe you'll get lucky, and whatever worker they send to do your job will be more competent. But I won't risk using them for future jobs if this is the kind of work they do.
