I mean, I had just heard *too* many great things, and I am hella picky with my hair. There was no way she could live up to expectations, so I tried to keep them tempered. But sweet Jesus, total girl crush. First: Dada itself is a small cozy shop... complete with a disco ball and David Bowie over the waves. Major, major props for that. I loved the big antique comfy chairs and homey atmosphere: nothing obnoxiously trendy, no Lady Gaga booming out of the speakers. Exactly the kind of salon I'd put together if I had the means/creativity/desire. Oh, and I can walk from my house. Doesn't get any better. But then there's Jessica. First of all, she's an absolute dreamboat. I love love love when I envy my stylist's hair, and hers I most definitely did. But when I walked out of the salon I've got to admit that I envied no one's hair, because mine is perfect. I have asked for truly red hair for years, even using terms like "orange," "bright," and "vermillion" that others may typically shy away from. But I typically walk out with the same 'do, a lovely strawberry shade that is all parts pretty but no parts badass. Now, my hair is the perfect combination of both. Jessica was sure to explain the maintenance that comes with red hair which I appreciated and I feel like she really did her best to make my hair look stellar without it being crazily cost-prohibitive. I felt totally at ease in Jessica's chair, and after three hours felt like I had just spent the afternoon chatting with a great friend than having an awkward stumbling conversation with a total stranger. If you're looking for something different and innovative, I recommend Jessica with all that I've got. She's the first stylist in Atlanta with whom I really, honestly, truly look forward to having a repeat visit. Atlanta, I can now officially stick around. I was so nervous because I've had such bad experiences at other salons (even a big name salon). She was so welcoming and really listened to what I wanted. I did show her some inspo fotos. I felt very comfortable after our consultation. She was very meticulous with her work. She took her time and demonstrated precision and patience (she is a perfectionist). Fast-forward to the end, I was so happy. My hair looked so much healthier and she literally did exactly what I wanted. I have been back since then, and will continue to go back as long as she will keep me as a client. I took my mother-in law to Aisha when she came to visit (she was having issues at other salons as well) and was absolutely amazed. Asked for highlights and showed the owner a few photos of the color I wanted which was more towards the ashy blonde/light brown side and perhaps w/ pink or purple highlights. I was drawn to this salon because of the amazing pictures, so I did innately trust the owner who seemed to be extremely personable and professional to color my hair at least decently. Went home under natural light to find my hair color two shades darker and basically black with some barely there highlights behind my head that were inside my hair. Went to another hair salon ten days later to color correct, and the stylist literally said: "i don't get it, there are literally strands of white that haven't been dyed just like randomly put into the back of ur head". Felt like my hair was dyed on a whim, and she didn't really put much thought into if I liked it or not. I remember texting her to get a color adjustment before I took matters into my own hands-- she texted back once that she'd be willing to and then I never heard from her again after multiple attempts to reach out. It's funny cuz I would've dropped any amount of money just to get my desired result, and would've been a faithful repeat customer. The photos show the effect I wanted and what it turned out to be. I can't think of any other reason why they'd do this since they all seemed so nice, except that she thought she could get away with it.

HOWEVER, I know that these are hair stylists in training but I guess I just didn't know how long to expect to be there. My haircut was a little uneven so the supervisor fixed it up for me. It isn't perfect now but it is pretty decent. I'm not sure I would go back just because of how long it took.

They use great products, tools and I love his technique. One major difference I see in the shop is the increased diverse talent and vibrancy of the staff. I appreciate that in a hair salon. Bookings are online or phone call, parking spots are across at Einstein's (I learned the hard way today and parked in the big lot next to Sprint and had to pay an event fare) and Starbucks is up the block if you need a coffee/tea although the staff here will gladly pour you a mimosa.
