First and foremost. The service was great and the team that works there is so nice. But this didn't make my top 10 Thai places in Vancouver. Strangely they don't ask spice levels and I ordered the Basil Friend Rice that had a spice symbol next to it and it wasn't hot what so ever. My dish tasted very bland, meat had a weird texture and pretty chewy. I was disappointed especially when the bill was $100 for my family of 4. On a positive note My wife loved her Currie from here though and that says a lot because she's pretty picky. If the rating was strictly on my dish it was be 1.5 (if possible) but again service was great and my wife did like her dish. Pass on this place if you're a fried rice eater. read more

Decided on Thai Eatery for lunch since we were around the area. It was a delightful meal which we loved. Ordered the Pad Thai which was very flavorful and savory. I absolutely enjoyed the balance of sauce and noodles. The Prik King was amazing. The salty, sweet and spicy flavors blended so perfectly. The veggies were cooked to perfection with a nice crunch. The golden flowers were delicious as well. Thai tea was good. Staff and service was fast and friendly. The restaurant has a nice and comfy ambience. Covid-19 guidelines are established. Avoid this place at all costs. The staff is extremely rude. I was on a call for work and an employee came up to me, put her hand on my shoulder, and told me to go outside. When I asked her why, she pointed at another person, and said that her " customer" was trying to eat and that I was being too loud (by the look on the guys face as he was dragged into this conversation, he had no idea what was going on). Also, I'm pretty sure that I was also a customer in this situation. I pushed back about how rude she was being, and she raised her voice at me, yelling that she barely could here a phone call she had received and asserted again that I had to go outside. Clearly, this was about her and had nothing to do with any other person. By this point, the entire restaurant was staring at me and my family. We decided to retract our order and go to Planet Thai. They were fine with my phone call. As you can imagine, I will never come back to this restaurant. This is a little late but figure I better write it. I actually visited when we were allowed in the restaurants (times they have-a-changed). I know that I'll have a chance to go back so that I can give it a second try. I feel that we were forgotten and we had to call the server often. I wanted to like the place but this really ruins a visit for me. The food was okay. Nothing to write home about. There was another family there who seemed to be known by the employees. They were the main focus which is why we were ignored. I was polite throughout our visit but again, it ruined the experience for me. Curries had so much wonderful, complex flavor!!! Conversely, the Tom Kah was disappointing. It was the same consistency as the curries, very onion heavy, and one note. Spring Rolls tasted super fresh and were a rewarding experience. Their pad thai was good (happily not candy sweet) but nothing more beyond that. I've eaten satay for 25 years and it's always been prepared with strips of grilled chicken. I Am Thai served me boiled chicken. The meat was a thick chunk of flavorless, watery and swollen chicken on a stick. I threw it away. If you want to order here, the yellow curry had a nice flavor and the jasmine rice was comparable to the yellow curry I've had at other Vancouver Thai restaurants. read more

It can be a hit or miss on the spice level, I have asked for medium and it doesn't have a kick at all, and I have asked for hot and it's too hot to eat, but now, I tend to just ask for medium and hope it has enough kick for me that time. My husband and I LOVE their food! Our favorites are their chicken wings (both kinds are very tasty ~ one in a teriyaki like sauce and the other in a sticky sriracha sauce), papaya salad, beef salad, Pad Kee Mao with pork, and Pad Ginger with chicken & brown rice. Try it, and you will LOVE it! I'm part Asian so I am very picky when it comes to Asian food. LOVE their spices and sauces. Friendly staff. Service turn around time is reasonable (they get REALLY busy around dinner time so I call ahead to place my order, and my husband picks up the food). Food is SO DELICIOUS!!! Used to come here every so often but hadn't been in a few months. The prices have just gotten too high for what it is: an okay fast casual restaurant in a downscale mini mall. An online order of Massaman Curry with beef came to $20, a little more after the obligatory tip (even though I picked up the food to go). That is a crazy high price for average Thai food with lackluster service and zero ambience. I get it, restaurant profit margins are slim and inflation rose in 2022. But sorry, I just can't justify those prices sitting between a nail salon and Goodwill. read more

Oh so yummy! Always good no matter what you order. My favorites are the green curry, yellow curry and pad Thai. To be fair, I love these dishes so much that I don't branch out too often. I have previously thought after eating at the restaurant and picking up food to take home this was the very best Thai food in Vancouver wa. But after we picked up our order and called with complaint (only 3 pieces of meat in our cashew chicken and 6 pieces of chicken in our orange chicken I'm not happy! They offered to make new cashew dish after 3 phone calls but wouldn't deliver it So now I have a credit for a cashew dish (per Jeff) but honestly the prices have increased which is understandable. Most places serve this as some deep fried protein and sauce. This restaurant adds so many fresh veggies, tomato, bell pepper, green onion, pineapple, onion and fresh cilantro. It does not feel heavy like so many other restaurants make it. read more

Went here with a hankering for some Thai. The joint was clean and bright and clean. Service was really good. The menu was broad with many of the usuals. Food was fresh and bright but the food was not as flavorful as I would like. Hence the 3 star rating. read more

My wife and I had lunch here Easter Sunday on the way to the Oregon coast -- well worth getting off of I-5. She had Running Chicken? with peanut sauce and a side of sticky rice - the parts that she shared with me were awesome. Angry Chicken was what I ordered. It was a half chicken of deliciousness. Marinated in lemon grass then deep fried so the outside was crispy and inside was chock full of yum. Came with a side salad and sticky rice. Very attentive wait staff - they brought me another serving of sauce to bathe my bird in. After a fantastic meal I was paying my bill at the counter and saw someone picking up a takeout food order with Thai iced tea. I made an impulse buy of one to share with my wife and I in the car. We had take out from here today and the food was horrible and the lady who took our order on the phone and waited on us at the counter when we picked up was unfriendly and acted like we were an inconvenience. She definitely needs customer service training. We ordered salad rolls which were filled with large pieces of romaine lettuce and 1 shrimp. They were tasteless and the peanut sauce was very thick and also tasteless. We also had pineapple fried rice which was even worse. No flavor of any kind. must be a bad cook today. Vancouver seems to have a ton of Thai restaurants, but the high reviews drew us to give this one a try. We were impressed by the food here. The first time I visit a Thai restaurant I usually order the same thing so I have a point of comparison - generally a Panang curry w/ beef. The curry itself was phenomenal. Just pouring some onto rice and eating it was delicious. The beef was just okay, but raised by the flavors of the curry it was swimming in. I think you could get any protein and enjoy this dish, or no protein at all. My wife had a Pad Thai which I thought was rather good, and she enjoyed it. Portions were pretty large and we both were full and had enough left for another meal. I ended up eating every last drop of that curry, which is high praise. I'd eat here again any time. read more

Service was fast and overall excellent. I ordered the Pad See Ew with beef and it was very good. Perfect amount of sauce, beef and broccoli were cooked just the right amount, and the portion was average compared to other Thai restaurants for this particular dish. I did order the dish as "Medium" spicy, and it was hardly spicy at all. If you like spicy food, you'll want to order it hotter than that. My friend made a similar comment about her Tom Yum Noodle soup that was labeled as a spicy dish, but didn't seem to be as spicy as expected. Great food, friendly staff. Food was ready in time and all was yummy. I it seems like this place has become our Sunday favorite.

Long time customer. While I Am Thai still features delicious food and an attentive, friendly and professional staff, their mindless and greedy quest for increased profits should be taken into account by any potential customers. My wife and I were always able to split an entree. No more. They've changed their to go containers to smaller, one-piece plastic units that halve the rice portion and almost halve the curry portion. What two adults were able to share is now a single serving, for the same price. More plastic for the landfill as a bonus. I will vote with my feet. Never again. read more
