Chicken Karaage
Reyana K.

We decided to spend Christmas at I Love Noods. Parking was kind of expensive in the garage, but that wasn't stopping us from enjoying our dinner! We ordered some karaage chicken, ramen, and boba drinks. I ordered a brown sugar boba milk drink and we both opted for the Black Garlic Tonkotsu. We got our food very quickly! The music was loud and it was honestly a vibe, there were only a few other patrons there while we ate. We've also tried the Mi-So-Hungry ramen as well and it is also amazing!

I won't lie, I was compelled to try this place mostly by the name (and secondly because the pictures of the food looked good). When you walk in, they have three screens to the right to place your order or you can also order at the counter to pay with cash and get 5% off. I went with the screens since I wasn't sure what I wanted and this gave me time to browse and take my time. I ended up going with the spicy tonkotsu ramen and a lychee drink and tried some of the friend's pork dumplings and gyozas. I was definitely overwhelmed with their drink options (there must have been over 30) since they all sounded fruity and delicious. We got our main food about 15-20 minutes after ordering and it came out at the perfect temperate--it wasn't cold but I also wasn't burning my tongue or blowing on my food. The flavor of the ramen broth was good. It was creamy but a bit too salty. It could've been a bit spicier but I was grateful that I could taste all the flavors since it wasn't that spicy. The pork slices were one of my favorite parts. Usually I'm not a big fan since it can taste funny or have too many fatty parts. These pieces were perfectly cooked and sliced to perfection. I did order my ramen with corn to introduce a sweet element. The noodles were cooked perfect and a tad chewy as expected. The egg was good. The drink did have a good lychee taste and had some jelly balls but I didn't realize the foam would be a bit salty. The cups are super cute and durable (I ended up using it as my water bottle for the weekend). One thing that did inconvenience me was that about 3-5 minutes into going in, the fire alarm sounded and didn't stop for a good 5-7 minutes. We didn't have to evacuate since the source was in the adjacent/top building units and it was cold outside so we didn't move. I found the prices to be standard. There's a parking lot around the corner and it's near Ohio State if you're interested in a tour.

Quick service and good food. Always being a loyal customer here and my personal fav is black garlic tonkotsu. I'll give Char siu a "meh" but they really know how to cook broth.

Came by on a weekday early afternoon. Not busy at all. A few folks dining in. You order on the screen then it prints out a receipt. They'll call your number when the food is ready. Since they weren't busy I was kind of watching them cook the food out of curiosity. I liked seeing that they made everything fresh. I had ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen at regular spice, pork and crab dumplings, and kaarage chicken. The broth of the ramen tasted good. I should've gone spicier as regular spice was not spicy enough. I LOVED the kaarage. It has a really nice seasoning and the pieces were large. The dumplings were decent to me. But I'm a huge fan of Din Tai Fung. It's hard not to compare. Overall, it's great to see options like this. And prices are good for what you're getting. I'll come back for their bubble tea! **Parking garage at the back. It's not free but it's the most convenient option. Or opt for street parking.

Black Garlic Tonkotsu, Gyoza Dumplings and an Ol' School Hong Kong BBQ Pork Bun
Dan W.

This great little noodle shop is located on the corner of High Street and Lane. They even have a parking garage located in the building behind them. They have fantastic ramen, pho, dim sum, and boba teas. If you're on campus, visit campus or in the area, I highly recommend stopping by this place. The service is quick and the flavors at this place are amazing. If you have never tried an Ol' School Hong Kong BBQ Pork Bun, this place serves up a MUST TRY BBQ Bun.......You'll thank me later.

Service was fast and the ramen was incredible. The dumplings tasted frozen and were okay but I think I would skip them in the future. It was a bit small and cold in the dining area but I think the ramen is worth it. :)

Their menu cover Pho, Ramen, Dim Sum, Bubble Tea, and more. Bringing a friend along is definitely a wise decision for an undecisive person like me. Tried a couple appetizers, a bowl of Ramen and the bubble tea. My highlight would have to be the Chicken Karaage and the OL' School Hong Kong BBQ Pork Bun.

Fried Gyoza Dumpling and Chicken Karaage
Ashleigh S.

This black garlic tonkotsu was the beautifully warm hug that I so rightfully deserved on this chilly depressing day. The flavors hit just right and the noodles were perfectly al dente, just the way I like them. I'm not the biggest fan of fried gyoza so I don't know why I even tried but the chicken karaage was nicely breaded and crispy. I'll return for the ramen alone!

Pros: Good location on Lane Paid parking in garage around corner Clean, open dining area Friendly service Black Garlic Tonkotsu ramen was delicious - noodles perfectly chewy, broth not too garlicky and pork slices had wonderful flavor Loved the jammy egg Mango Tango slush was refreshing and enjoyed the milk foam on top Like the variety of the menu - pho, ren, and dim sum (includes soup dumplings) Lots of drink options Cons: Price is a tad high for the smaller portion You are supposed to order via the kiosks, which I hate, but the server told me I could order at the counter Pro tip: Go right when they open to avoid the lines

Milk tea and Thai tea bobas

Incredible food that looked and tasted amazing. I love that you just order on the computers and take a number and seat yourself! They don't ask for tip, but I left one anyway bc of the convenience and quick services. Super chill spot with WiFi and Starbucks around the corner. Loved everything about this place from the name to my last sip of Thai tea boba.

Peach Green Tea With Nata Jelly
Jennifer W.

Delicious! I ordered for delivery and got the Hong Kong Bun, the gyoza, peach green tea, and the black garlic ramen. (I wasn't planning to order all of that, but upon reading reviews from others, felt I needed to try it all. And boy were they right!) The Hong Kong Bun was hot and flavorful, the gyoza were crispy and the sauce with it was unexpectedly flavorful. It was all absolutely amazing and packaged well for delivery. The broth was in a separate container so I was able to add it once it was delivered and let the noodles soak. Will definitely order again!

I'm so happy this opened near campus! It's super new, but the service and ambience was great. We were greeted right when we walked in. There are a few kiosks, but we were asked to order at the register, where the cashier was super patient and sweet while we looked through the menu. We realized later that we had come super close to closing time and asked if it'd be better if we got to-go, but the cashier was super friendly and said we were welcome to stay and take our time. The curry bomb ramen was so good! Full of flavor, so excited to try more ramen. The pho was pretty bland, but the chicken broth pho is marketed as very light. The table had hoisin sauce, chili oil, and sriracha to add. I do wish they had a more substantive chili oil, with flakes instead of pure oil, but I had plenty of leftovers to bring home to my own garlic chili oil. Wouldn't recommend the chicken broth pho personally, but I don't want to rule out the beef without trying. Each table also has plastic cups and a water pitcher, which was super convenient. And the tea!!! I ordered the peachy blossom green tea with nata jelly and it was so good!! Not super syrupy or sweet at 50% sugar, and the jelly was really great quality without excess syrup too. The lime and pulp (not sure if it was the peach or nata) was added a lot too. It was less than $6 for this size and quality, which I think beats both nearby KFT and Cuppa Cha. I think this is my new go-to for campus boba. Really looking forward to trying more here, highly recommend!

Beef balls and tendon Phó
Ces C.

Came across a pop ad that said 50% off up until today for an opening promo. Glad I checked it out. We tried the Black Garlic Tonkatsu Ramen and Beef balls & Tendon Phó. Both were delicious! The broths were on point. We even had some to go. You also can't beat the half off milk tea bobas, so for the two of us we got to try 4 different kinds and they were all good! The bobas were nice and chewy. Service was fast & friendly. They have kiosks on the right side of the resto when you come in for to go orders. Overall, great experience would love to be back! Happy tummy!

We got a few dim sum dishes as well as Chinese home style dishes as well. As for the dim sum dishes, the scallop dumplings were my favorite because of how chewy the skin was. Although the shrimp dumplings were good, they were on the soggier side. The chive dumplings were also super packed with pork and chives, and they were wonderfully crispy. The spicy pork dish was very good, with lots of thin sliced pork, squash, mushrooms, scallions, and onions. If you're into spicy food, definitely enjoy it with their pickled jalapeños and red pepper oil. Chinese stir fried veggies make it so easy to get your fiber in as well. These veggies were super flavorful with lots of garlic and they were tender too! We finished the meal with some fortune cookies and the best part of the meal was how friendly and sweet our servers were. The workers were elderly men and women and they were so nice. They made sure we had everything we needed and even gave us candy as we left. It reminded me of how much I loved seeing generations of families getting dim sum together on the weekends. Definitely will be back for more the next time my dim sum craving hits!

When I walked in the atmosphere was great, I could smell good food and heard conversations. There's a large area with large round tables to right and to the left are booths and almost all of them were full. The menu was a mix of Americanized Chinese, traditional Chinese and included Dim Sum as well. There were a number of dishes we didn't know much about and there were dishes being enjoyed by other customers that looked delicious. The wait staff was more than happy to explain the dishes and/or show us on the menu what someone was eating. They took very good care of us and shared the tasks of bringing our food, filling water, and just checking in. Now the food. The food came out very quickly! We all received a well filled bowl of rice. First out was the string beans, perfectly cooked, not droopy, and the flavors of garlic and hot peppers. Even though the peppers were there the heat was not overpowering at all. Next was the shredded pork with garlic sauce. The textures of the pork and bamboo shoots were a nice contrast and the sauce was perfectly balanced and craveable. The special grilled lamb, I was told, was some of the best in the city. It was tender and well spiced. Even when he said he was full he just couldn't stop eating it. For the dim sum order we got the shrimp dumplings, soup dumplings, scallion pancake, and sesame balls and they brought a soy sauce and a chili oil with them. The shrimp dumplings were tender but the dough was pretty sticky. I think this is normal and they were tasty with some of the oil on them. The scallion pancakes were very thin and gummy, this is the only thing we ordered that I would not get again. The soup dumplings were very small but packed a lot of flavor. The dough did stick together a bit so unfortunately some of the soup did leak out. The sesame balls were the hit and we're just the right amount of sweetness that we considered them desert. They were large, at least 2" in size, with a wonderful sesame seed covered exterior and a soft, sweet center. Chuan Jiang Hao Zi is a wonderful somewhat hidden gem. If you want traditional Chinese cuisine including all the different offal they have it and I would totally try it here over anyone else if I was brave enough. Portions were a good size for the price. I highly recommend checking them out!

Emily, the owner/chef, just opened for business last week. The Violet Festival was her first customer experience. New, bright green truck - can't miss it. She was in the process of the last steps before opening on a consistent schedule. Out and about again today with my niece, we noticed the truck's sign was on. Two picnic tables were added, so there's room to sit and eat. Chatting with Emily, she's super friendly and personable. We ordered two Spring Rolls and 8 Potstickers. We had to wait a little longer than usual, but the truck is new, and operated by one woman. First out was the Pork Potstickers. The potstickers are sold individually - $2/piece. A side of what tasted soy/teriyaki dipping sauce. They were full of flavor! Hot. Solid consistency. The pork was a delight! As we waited for the second dish, we were given Crab Rangoon to try. A bit too much cream cheese for my tastebuds, but not bad, nonetheless. Want to add that the triangles were filled full, so that's always a plus for getting your money's worth. Great crispy fried taste of the wrapping. Oh, and Emily offered us a free bottle of water to compensate for the delay. The truck did not have cooked noodles (for the Spring Rolls), so Egg Rolls it was. They were fantastic! Chicken and veggies. The dough was cooked to a slight crunchiness. Satisfying! I'm excited to try the Steamed Buns and Dumplings, as I'm currently crushing on those! I hope her dishes are as solid as the food I had today!
