The concept of the noodle soups are very unique in how they just give you a boiling stone pot and other toppings like beef, surf clam, various types of veggies, corn, and mushroom, and you can add it to your liking. The stone pot does cool down pretty quickly so you should definitely add the meats first but I like the variety of the toppings and how it is very customizable. You can also get the broth spicy, like I did, and add chili oil for more of a kick. The noodles are slightly thin and chewy, and the portion is big. What makes this dish even more special is after a friend told me about the Chinese folktale that explains the origins of the Yunnan crossing noodle soup. It was supposedly created by a wife of a scholar who began to prepare the soup and ingredients separately and crossed a bridge every day to bring it to her husband (who was so engrossed in his studies that his food would get cold) so he could eat his noodles fresh and hot. This tale made me appreciate the noodle soup even more They have lots of appetizers too and I especially liked the fried salt and pepper chicken! It's been awhile since I've been back but it feels cozy and warm just as before. There's an abundance of parking in their lot and a decent amount of tables inside. The restaurant is warm, inviting, and cozy. We got the Classic broth and the Mala broth, as well as a Scallion Pancake. The broths were yummy, made well and flavorful but the Mala wasn't spicy. There is chili oil and vinegar on each table to help season your food. The toppings came out in little dishes and they were good and it's a good idea for customizing what you want or don't want. The broth comes out boiling hot and then you add your toppings and noodles. Each noodle dish comes with an abundance of noodles and a good amount of each toppings. I thought the beef and shrimp were both good proteins for our broths. The scallion pancake was okay. I felt like it wasn't as crispy as it should have been and it is one piece cut into 4. The scallion pancake was not very flavorful but it was good to try. Each bowl was around $15 dollars but they have some that are a bit more expensive. They also offer rice bowls and ramen! You can also purchase additional toppings Staff was very nice and accommodating but we didn't have much interaction. We had the best time here this evening! The food was incredible. I am so surprised it took so long to try this restaurant. We really love the Asian food scene here in Columbus, and I was surprised that I had not tried this noodle place before. Those selection of noodles is a great and I think some of the soups are very unique. We got a variety of noodles. We got the spicy miso Ramen, the classic soup, and the Yaki Udon. we also got a salt and pepper fried chicken appetizer to share. Everything came out hot and fresh. The soups were absolutely incredible. The noodles seemed fresh and were delicious. I thought the portions were really as well. We will definitely be coming back here! Today we stopped in for lunch. I got the Yunan crossing bridge noodles for $22. It came with a bowl of hot broth and 13 toppings. If there are 1-2 toppings (like squid or quail eggs for example that you don't like) you can switch them for something else. You also get a big bowl of noodles to dump in your bowl. There are instructions at the table that say which items you should cook first (like the beef). One thing I wish tasted better was the broth - it could have been more flavorful. The ambiance was very nice and professional and they had tons of Asian artifacts around that you could look at. I'd love to come again and get ramen or another bowl dish. HELLO DELICIOUS NOODLE SOUP! Ok so a few weeks back, when we checked out Mjomii's soft opening nearby, we saw Yun Nan Crossing Bridge Noodle Soup and immediately got it in our radar to check out. Yesterday eas the day! We came at a super weird pre-dinner time and we were the only people in the resto. It was fine by us but note that there was no ambient sounds...no music, tv...it was very quiet which is actually nice but just be aware of it. The young woman who was our server was so nice. We ordered waters to drink and they came without ice. Again, no biggie but different. Mr. ordered mala spicy pork chop noodle soup and I ordered spicy beef noodle soup. All of the soups have a different broth base with a protein you choose and a whole tray of little bits and bobs to add to your soup. We didn't know what a lot of them were but everything was so delicious we didn't care! The soup is HOT. Like almost too hot to eat fast though we both tried The spice level was great on both but two things I especially loved were the chicken bits we got on the tray and the mala broth. I think the depth of flavor was a bit greater in the mala broth than my spicy beef broth but I could t fault either -- they are that good! Everything was hot and fresh. The beef chunks I got were very fatty but I was sort of into it. The fatty bits just added that much more flavor on top of the nutmeg spice it had. We ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimp and Salt & Pepper Chicken for our appetizers and both were delicious! I especially loved the chicken, it was so juicy and perfectly cooked/seasoned. Came and tried this place due to a friend's recommendation! We had the classic rice noodle soup with crispy salt and pepper chicken. Absolutely fantastic! The soup was light and had a mixture of things I don't expect to be in it, like corn, a quail egg? and a chicken leg LOL. The salt and pepper chicken was also really good! For both me and my sister, we couldn't really finish the chicken. We were too full from the soup. The menu isn't large but I'm unfamiliar with this type of cuisine. Friend suggested this place ans im always down for some noodles. Didn't realize that was pretty much all they had with appetizers. Appetizers were good. Pork steam buns were fluffy and the sauce was tasty but I was lacking some meat. The Salt and Pepper chicken was dry (almost seemed as if the chicken was old) ans did not taste of either salt or pepper. It did however taste of cinnamon, which was not my favorite surprise. Homemade dumplings were delicate and tasty. I think I would have preferred the pork but the triple flavor was ok. Seems that they blend all three items into a meatball so you couldn't really discern much but I still got plenty of mushroom, which was not the primary flavor I wanted. Teriyaki cuttlefish was brought to us by mistake so we didn't get to taste it but I included the picture for reference. I must have forgotten to take a picture of the broth but it was somewhat viscous and had a really good flavor. Even the spicy broth had no spice for me but I tend to have a high tolerance. The noodles were my biggest disappointment. I know rice noodles don't always have the most flavor but these tasted particularly bland. There was a good amount of them but they offset the good flavor of everything else. Overall, this place seemed authentic and beloved by many but I probably wouldn't go back anytime soon. This was my first visit to Yunnan Crossing--I called them directly for pickup and the food was ready when I arrived in 15 mins. The server was very friendly and professional. I got the spicy salt and pepper chicken based on the reviews here. This was a bit of a disappointment--it's definitely a bit too fried for what I was expecting. I'm a huge fan of pickled greens so I ordered the Beef with Pickled Chili Rice Noodle . We enjoy the pickled greens flavor so that bowl was our personal favorite of the two . We went in for lunch and ordered classic soup. While I was amazed with the presentation (the picture on the wall), we were rushed by the server (an older lady) to order. The service is similar to the usual trend/stigma of a Chinese restaurant (bad service = great food). However that wasn't the case. The classic was bland. There are hardly any tastes. Only a piece of goji berry in my soup. My wife was rushed to put everything in the soup and eventually the server did it for her. It completely takes away the experience that they marketed in the first place. The noodles seem too soft or over cooked. There's no texture in it. The side dish seems to be cooked the day before(cold fried batter), The quail egg tasted awful, a few pieces of beef and a lot of vegetables. Overall, for the price it is understandable to have a minimum portion. They'll just need to improve the service and the food quality. read more

When I asked the hostess, she simply said oh, we couldn't keep up with the grocery price increase. I said you need to mark it on your menu, this is cheating.
