I got the boneless chicken teriyaki and tofu yakisoba. The chicken was a generous portion but pretty standard and it hit the spot. However, I'll say that the tofu yakisoba was underwhelming; it tasted more like Chinese chow mein and was missing the sweetness of yakisoba. The portion was surprisingly small compared to the chicken. Adding teriyaki sauce helped a bit, but it still felt like a miss. That said, the food came out very quickly, which was a plus. Overall, a bit pricey at nearly $20 per dish, I'd stick to the rice and protein.

Hole in the wall... great food. Pricey but filling. Ordered the chicken plate and also the beef plate with 1 soda. Almost $50 Very expensive but the food is great. The portions are big. Both plates fed myself , wife and 5 small kids. Came with 2 small Salads (ask for extra dressing). It was happening. Lots of people coming in, very limited seating so if your going during lunch or dinner hours , prepare to take it "to go" I always reference the place, service , cleanliness etc... but typically rate based on the food. It's pretty grimey and dirty , but that's what you would expect from a hole in the wall ... it really doesn't bother me , staff is friendly but busy, don't expect to get any attention or service after you order and get your food , located off a busy road with limited parking , but people are coming and going quickly , so wait a minute and something will open up. Food was great. Flavorful , no thrills. Just straight to the point. And they give you a lot of it. Had hoped for some mac salad or some other side beside the salad with a drizzle of dressing. If I'm in the area again, I'd stop by and order again ! Since I can't give 4.3 stars I rounded up !

Got boneless chicken teriyaki. Almost everything about the food was solid. Salad was fresh. Rice was properly clumpy. Although it's pricey, plenty of chicken for two average stomach people. Sauce was good. The one disappointment and arguably the most important part was how dry the chicken was. This was surprising because it's a kenjo Lopez fav spot. Maybe it's a one off but it's a good deal overall. No issues with service. Small amount of seating for small groups. Mainly a carryout spot.

One of the best Teriyaki spots in Seattle. My boyfriend and I have become teriyaki enthusiasts when we go out west and one of the best stops we made was this place. Wonderfully authentic Asian food experiences with amazing customer service. Consistently dreaming of their chicken teriyaki.

Incredible food. Very friendly staff and quiet atmosphere. Reasonable price. Very easy to get to as well.

Generous portions and a great location make this spot a must-visit, especially if you're heading to Gas Works Park. If you're craving teriyaki and need a quick, satisfying lunch, this is the place to stop. The lady at the cashier is incredibly kind, and it's easy to see why so many people keep coming back. :)

Not very busy waiting for 8 piece Gyoza and they tried to charge me $4.99 for a bottle of Mexico Coke #WTF
    David S.

It's about as mediocre as you can get for Teriyaki and considering it in the Fremont area beware because they want $4.99 for a bottle of Mexican Coke!! Usually hot usually fast but double check your prices guys because they don't blink twice and how they can justify five dollars for a bottle of Coke. It's just asinine. !

Decent spot for Teriyaki, but it's not the best. There are plenty of teriyaki spots in Seattle given it was popularized here. This teriyaki spot is very close to Gas Works Park, so a good suggestion would be to take it over to the park for a picnic. They have a small parking lot in the plaza, so it's easy to drop someone off to pick up the food. The portions are great and plenty, and the staff was friendly! However, taste wise, it was average and didn't wow me. Therefore, it's a decent local spot if you live close by and want something quick for lunch or dinner, but nothing worth driving out for.

Ask the Community - I Love Teriyaki

I suppose the odds of this aren't very good, given that there's wheat in most brands of soy sauce, but does anyone know if there's anything here that's gluten-free? I figure it wouldn't hurt to just ASK. :)

The sushi rolls were mostly rice with little fish. I would skip getting any of them. The carpaccios were interesting... not really what I was thinking when I order carpaccios at other restaurants but the fish was good quality and the sauces paired well. I liked the the yuzu sour! It was so tart and fizzy, whereas the lemon sour mostly tasted like water. They are really just known for their decor, which is indeed super cool. The ambiance is very fun. It can get super busy so make a reservation, especially if you have a bigger group coming. I think it would be a fine place to get drinks and maybe have a bite or two, but the food is not really worth it in my opinion.

We ordered only from the happy hour menu because they had a ton of good sounding options there. The yakiton came first and was really greasy and black peppery. The yakitori meat was smaller than the chicken skewers I've gotten at Southeast Asian restaurants in the Seattle area, but these ones had a softer texture like teriyaki chicken. The kalbi beef was inconsistent. One of our plates had large pieces, while the other plate was full of small pieces. The smaller kalbi was drier. The bigger kalbi was chewier. I'd stick to ordering kalbi from Korean restaurants where the meat is more tender and easier to eat. The best item we ordered was the crispy chicken wings. They really were crispy - nothing like I've had before in terms of crispiness. Next time I would try the JFC to compare. Something that I didn't like was that they put both orders of the wings on the same plate instead of splitting them up. They split up the kalbi plates, but nothing else. It was ok to combine the skewers because they're so tiny, but the wings were almost falling off the plate they were on and very close to being a bad jenga situation with how they were placed.

The dispenser was wet, suggesting it had recently been used and run out. I flagged this to an employee who was handling food at the time. They acknowledged me but didn't address it. I waited and brought it up again and was met with visible annoyance. Another staff member eventually mentioned that employees use a sink in the kitchen. I asked if I could use it. Shortly after, soap appeared in the bathroom with no acknowledgment or apology. What concerns me most is this: if the customer-facing restroom had no soap during the dinner rush, and the response to being asked about it was irritation rather than urgency, what does that say about how handwashing is handled behind the scenes? I'm not looking for perfection. I'm looking for basic food safety protocol to be taken seriously. I didn't see that here.

Finally, we were celebrating a birthday so we appreciated them bringing out a complimentary dessert and it was very cute having them play the birthday song on the speakers so the whole restaurant sang along! On the misses, the spicy salmon hand roll was extremely salty to the point where it was burning my tongue. The hot dishes like the salmon chanchan yaki and chicken teriyaki were bland and overcooked, didn't even want to bring leftovers home. And the sushi took FOREVER to come out, at least 15 minutes after the hot dishes, so be warned if it's busy.
