I had the chicken and prawn combo. The salad it came with was small, with a watery dressing that barely had any flavor. The teriyaki chicken was unremarkable, maybe slightly below average. The kicker? The "teriyaki prawns" were four medium shrimp on a stick. This all ran me over $18 after tax and tip. I won't be back.

Amazing teriyaki! This place has been around my whole life and I am SO GLAD they survived the pandemic. The service is also friendly, attentive and quick.

    Chicken katsu

Never seen such poor and low quality chicken katsu - thin, dry, chewy. It's surprising how it's even possible to make that

Katsu chicken was old and discolored. Outside of the possible health concerns, it was the consistency of beef jerky. Un-eatable.

This place used to have great service and good management but then a new owner took over. Food is worse and service is rude.

Not good. Rice clearly tasted like instant rice. Fried rice had no flavor. And hot sauce cost extra.

Great spicy beef teriyaki! The gyoza and fried rice were also tasty. Terrific service. I highly recommend this place.

Good teriyaki and reasonable price, not a ton of affordable options in this area. I got the spicy beef. I'll be back

The udon were really good but if you let them sit for a long time they get a bit soggy and lose their texture, mainly a concern if you eat really slow though. Broth was also great, just a tiny bit of spice really added to it Overall I'd definitely come back here!

I've been to Azuki at least five times from September 2025 to now and genuinely like this place…read more Udon is my favorite noodle and I love handmade ones with irregular thickness. Writing this sucks and also I feel like I'm giving a completely honest and fair review of last night (Friday, June 19, 2026) from 7 to 8:30pm ish. Two hairs - one in my kaisen champon, one in my partner's niku udon. A dead bug in the niku udon. A staff member walking the floor actively bleeding from his nose with a napkin stuffed into it. Any one of these on its own would have been a rough night. All three in the same meal is something else ‍ The kitchen is small and open so you can see and hear everything, which meant we also got a front row seat to the chef yelling at his staff multiple times throughout the evening. The team was clearly working hard and seemed genuinely understaffed, but the kitchen felt like it was coming apart at the seams. We were in line to order for about five minutes, during that time we heard the employee at the register say to the man in front of us that there is no more summer special cold udon flight. Bummer, but totally understand. The menus are acrylic boards at the ordering counter, there were two for the two specials and they were left up when we went to order. The employee told me that unfortunately they have run out of the other special (not the flight). She turned around to do something else for a bit, came back, so I ordered the flight and she said they don't have that either. LOL okay!! No worries! I asked if any of the udon can be made cold? She asked the head chef. He yells back that he has no time for this. Like a good one minute lecture, yelling at the staff. So sorry I made him yell at this poor girl I ordered kaisen champon and my partner ordered the niku udon. We waited for a good 30 mins for our food. Fine we like each other enough to spend time with each other and can clearly see it is chaos in the kitchen. We get our food. We didn't get utensils with our food, and were told "I'll grab utensils for you, sorry about that" So we just sat there waiting for utensils. Food is good but there are hairs and a bug ‍ During our time waiting the water wasn't ever filled (it's self serve) so after our food came I asked for water three times, kept getting "I'll refill it". The chawanmushi showed up 20+ minutes after our food, basically as we were finishing. And they don't have to-go containers, which fine, but worth knowing. I've given this place real chances. Last night felt like a hygiene issue, an understaffed kitchen, and a service breakdown all stacked on top of each other. Usually we go during lunch so maybe that's my recommendation moving forward - I'm giving this place a rest from the rotation for now.

The menu is pretty out there but the flavors on everything were excellent. I tried some of my aunts green beans and I can definitely say they were the best Ive ever had. So much flavor for something I'd usually never get as an app. I went with the five spice duck confit, which comes with a duck leg and thigh. Everything was delicious, noodles, bok choy, and the broth was killer. I drained it after I ate everything. Staff was really great and helpful, we had a kid in our party and they had no problem making a spiced up order of their kids noodles. Get the black sesame ice cream, it had a peanut butter flavor and was super creamy and smooth.

Started the meal with Sweet Potato Hoe Cake. This had cornbread like texture but felt softer, smoother, quite moist with a sweet honey butter syrup base. BBQ Shrimp tasted out of this world delicious: very fresh head/tail on shrimp cooking in garlic butter, Metier coconut porter. The good to the last drop sauce had bold flavors although quite salty, just perfect for dipping the focaccia in. Unc's Wing was equally endearing: rubbed in a 13-spice blend, with perfect crispness and plump, juicy flesh beneath the coating. Butter-basted cabbage was a rare treat: basted with butter that accentuates the sweetness of caramelized cabbage. Miso butter sauce a great match. The drink I ordered was less intriguing: Kinfolk (bourbon, Jamaican, rum, Cynar, and pecan liqueur) was bourbon heavy, very balanced nonetheless just not memorable. The chocolate truffle was the only item we did not enjoy: it had hard shell and very dense filling.
