One of our favorite spots we would go on Sundays is now not our favorite. The prices jumped 50% What would normally be a $40 bill for two people is now a $60 bill and it wasn't worth it. You can go to the store and get a pack of Ramen for $.50 not $3. Also you can get fresh not frozen bok choy for under a dollar as well not $3. Love the hot pot concept. Choose your soup base and then everything is a la carte. White plates are $1 ea, blue $2ea, green $3, pink $4, and purple are $5. The difference between $3/$4 soup base and the $8/$10 menu is that the more expensive menu includes soup and meat (no sides). If there's anything you want and can't find it on the belt, you can always ask your server to bring it to your table. Their veggies and meat are very fresh. Their soup base is made with bone broth not bouillon cubes and msg. The sauce bar is a bit limited but there was enough variety. I found myself not needing any sauce halfway thru the meal. Prices are really fair. Highly recommend. Kid friendly too. High chairs available and you can trap the kids inside the booths. Booths seats 4 and 6 per table. Larger parties will need to split off. I am obsessed with hot pot in general & generally enjoyed our visit to I Luv Hot Pot. We will be back for another round with some friends. Broth was flavorful, prices reasonable, and the quality of the ingredients was great. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars: lack of savory options on the sauce bar & I had to ask for re-fills of cilantro + garlic. I would also prefer if more red meat circulated around and if they added lamb. They did not have a drink menu, but I was able to get some sparkling moscato by asking for white wine. I would have preferred a Singha or other asian beer, but they only had domestic options. Considering there was only 1 server on staff during our off time visit which ended up getting slammed, we received excellent service. I asked for scallops & beef, which was delivered directly to me, which was nice. I could see this being complicated for larger parties as only 2 people sit close to the conveyor belt. It's also definitely better to go with someone who understands hot pot and knows what the ingredients are. Nothing on the conveyor belt is labeled, so you have to already know what you're looking at. Very intriguing but the seating was uncomfortable and inconvenient for the people sitting away from the conveyor belt. I'm a very anxious person and I'm not very fond of conveyor belts and having to be conscious of what's rotating. I'd rather have my food laid out in front of me. The Thai tea was impeccable and very authentic! The quality of the meats was decent, the $5 lobster tail was surprisingly satisfying. The vegetarian soup comes with mushrooms so it saves you a couple dollars rather than picking up $1 plates with mushrooms. Just a tip lol. The hot pot here was really good and reasonably priced. You first come in and select your choice of broth, and then once you get your pot, you're good to go. All of the side things, such as noodles, meats, and seafoods are on a conveyor belt for you to pick as you like at your own time. There was one flaw of this place, however. I visited on a Saturday for an early dinner. It wasn't packed, but was about halfway full maybe. Overall I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. I ordered the beef broth which is a pho broth. It literally is a straight up pho broth, and it was actually really flavorful! I did add more garlic and some fish sauce and chili oil to the broth. I love the concept of ordering a la carte for hotpot, because then I'm able to order a variety, and since I'm not a huge fan of vegetables, the vegetables won't go to waste. It does take some time for the conveyor belt to go around though, but we requested a specific item from the waiter, and he was happy to bring it out for us. One thing I wish they did was a small plate of combination veggies such as a little bit of cabbage, bok choy and watercrest, offered all in one plate instead of offering them individually. I think that would work much better because sometimes you don't want that much amount of one vegetable. But then again, you can always split the plate with another person which is a plus. I was surprised to see that they had lobster tails and scallops for $5.50. Not bad of a price at all. I opted for the beef. I love it because it's super soft. I wish they had a better sauce bar. Mini hot pot has all these ready-made various sauces for me to dip my meats in, but I Luv Hot Pot only had a small selection and nothing that I would really use to dip. Service was fine. I've come here about 5 times and have finally gotten myself to write a review! I always have mixed feelings about this place. I can never tell if I love it or hate it. However, my final verdict isss ... I feel very meh. The concept is great, however the execution is sub par. But, I also wonder if that statement is fair considering the price point. You know? You get what you pay for, which isn't much at all. My biggest issue is if food is on a conveyor belt, specifically raw meats the belt should offer some sense of refrigeration, but maybe it does and I just don't notice. I've seen plates of meat starting to brown as they pass my table and on the flip side i've sat for well over 20minutes and have noticed not one plate of meat go by but only a plethora of vegetables. I understand a restaurant can get busy and people can grab as many plates as they please; however, there should be someone monitoring when a particular item gets low in order for the kitchen to prepare more of it. I would say this is the Food Depot of hot pot places. You can get what you came for, for a fairly cheap price. But, then you have to wonder ... is saving money when you're going out anyway that serious? I personally would easily pay more to go somewhere else nearby like Pop Pot or J's Mini. *THIS IS JUST FOR HOT POT, NOT BOWLING* The hot pot here is decent at best. They offer five types of broths: beef, chicken, veggie, Thai, and kimchi. I tried the Thai, also known as the eponymous I Luv Hot Pot broth, and it was way too salty from the start. The broth took a while to boil up as well, so we didn't actually start the meal until 10+ minutes of waiting. That said, the sauce bar was nice but a little limited: fish sauce, hoisin, oyster sauce, among others. As we started the meal, I noticed the conveyer belt line was a little limited too. Just basic seafood (salmon, tuna, shrimp, and fish cakes), beef, noodles, and some veggies and mushrooms. Everything was of mediocre quality. After like my second helping, I just couldn't eat anymore from 1) how salty it was and 2) how full the seafood had made me. I guess the food was meant to fill you up after all, but to me, the atmosphere and vibe seemed a bit too rushed and no-frills. Don't forget the sauce bar. You can make your own concoctions. I think the conveyor plates self explains the plate cost by the color that you pick. Only issue with this was that they brought out our broth and for almost 15 of use choosing what we wanted and adding it to the broth we noticed our brought was not getting hot. I Luv Hot Pot is conveniently located in the I Luv Pho plaza, hence the similarity in name. It's a hot pot place with a conveyor belt system, which is rare in Georgia. Walked in for dinner and it was fairly empty. More pople started coming in around 7pm and we were there around 5:30. We were promptly seated and given water with a slice of orange in it. My husband and I ordered beef and chicken broth and after we got our individual pots, it was time to chow down. The beef and chicken broth tasted like the pho broth from I Luv Pho. I'm not used to hot pot broth being flavorful and I do wish the broth wasn't as flavorful so that the meat and veggies I choose would flavor the broth instead. We saw a lot of veggies before we finally saw the meat and seafood. There is a good variety in veggies on the conveyor belt but the meat and seafood seem limited. I think you may have to order if you want certain meats and seafood; otherwise, the meat on the belt was raw beef, cooked beef, meat balls, fish balls and the seafood was shrimp, mussels, squid, and octopus. There were also various kinds of noodles as well. The service is almost non-existent. The servers are there to seat you, refill your water once in a while, and take away the lids that cover the food on the conveyor belt. Otherwise, everything is completely self service. The sauce bar has pre-made sauces that you can combine or use individually. There are bowls and long square plates in bins as well as eating utensils and ladles. The sauce part is tricky because there are a lot of strong flavors so it's not as easy to customize your sauce to your liking, especially with the pre-flavored broth marinating the food that you're cooking in the pot. Our bill came out to $40ish, which is a lot cheaper than other hot pot places because the price is determined by the colored plates (different colors indicate difference prices and broth is about $3). Although it was cheaper, I would say that the quality isn't as good as other hot pot places. The experience was cool, though. This is a great concept and the meals are quite fun to prepare for people of all ages that can. My friend's 5 yr old son was able to make his meal with ease. It was a bit tricky figuring out what was on some plates and even asking got you nowhere but everything tasted great. Some items like scallops didn't come out until I made my soup but I neglected to ask if they had any. The plates don't cost too much and they can be shared so trial and error was fun. I had a tamale that I hoped was corn flavor and turned out to be pepper shrimp with the shell still on. I like shrimp but I dislike the shell. They automatically bring you a glass of water. We ordered the chicken broth and it was delicious! We went to the sauce bar to make our own concoction to add to our both and it was GOOD! When I heard of all the hype about I Luv Hot Pot, the conveyor belt concept definitely drew me in. In Atlanta, we barely have a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, so conveyor belt hot pot?! Broth: Now I'm not a typical fan of hot pot because the broth is usually underwhelming. But coming here with a couple of family members, I was introduced to the "I Luv Hot Pot" broth. It's really important to have a good base for your broth and I really enjoy this broth. It's probably what made me come back 3 times already (within 2 months). It reminds me of a Vietnamese sweet and sour soup (canh chua). Besides that, they have beef, pork, vegetarian, and kimchi broth! Food: There are a variety of different toppings for your broth. With the conveyor belt concept, each colored dish represents a different price point. The variety of food includes different types of noodles, a selection of protein, mushrooms, greens, eggs, etc. They even serve fruit and traditional Vietnamese desserts! My favorite types of noodles are the Vietnamese glass noodle (mi mien), but I've noticed it rarely, so you can ask a server. I tend to reach for the Enokidake mushroom and a few greens, fish cakes, and protein. It's nice that there's a large variety of vegetarian options. The sauce bar is a nice addition. If the broth wasn't already flavorful, I would probably utilize the sauce bar more, but I do enjoy mixing and matching different types of sauces/toppings to make a master mix sauce. Service: While you basically serve yourself in this type of restaurant, the service is just ok. You most likely get seated right away, since there's an abundant number of tables. The server mainly focuses on you when you first arrive, to seat you and get you started with your broth. The table has individual hot pot heaters built into the table. If you set it at a 5, it can be boiling hot, so make sure you don't burn yourself. If you're lucky, you can wave them down to get a refill for your drink. When we ordered our broths the first time we came, we noticed that other table who had arrived after us got their broths first. When they did bring it out, it was one short. When we ordered a thai tea, we had to remind the waiter at least 3 times (but he kept insisting it was coming out each time). Honestly, the broth of the hot pot makes a huge difference, so it can be a hit or miss or anyone. I enjoy the hot pot broth and ingredients here. I'm not sure where to start... 1 good thing: Parking is awesome. Huge parking lot. Back to the real point: 1. When we first walked in, we were informed the conveyor belt was broken. It started working half way through our meal... but very slowly. A little alarming since it was a Friday night aka dinner rush & I think that was the main attraction here. 2. 2-3 of our 4 hot pots were not working at our table. 1 was working quickly (my friend's). My bf's slowly started to work. Mine just... died after trying to boil for 15 mins. The 4th one was broken anyway. After kind of telling the staff about my hot pot- they kept saying: "oh it'll come on... just wait a little longer". I just finally asked: can we just get a new table? I don't want to get sick by eating uncooked food....They finally moved us. 3. The biggest point: After we moved to the new table... about 20 mins later, we see a family of cockroaches at the end of our table. Literally 3-4 of them. WTF. I personally lost my appetite. 4. After we summoned our server, he just kept saying sorry. Didn't really give a solution. I told our server we wanted to notify the manager. He said none of them were in today. WTF? No managers in the restaurant on a Friday night? Yeah right. We finally got someone from their office next door (She was a General Manager?). She saw what we saw and was disgusted. She agreed to comp our meal + give us $10 gift certificates each. But let's be real.... we will most likely not come back. Seeing 3-4 cockroaches .... ugh, so disgusting. She did say we could use the gift cards next door for bowling though. 5. When the General Manager came to our table... she said 1 thing that was VERY alarming. The lanes are pretty similar to any other bowling places but this spot has an open bar! It's really neat and they're drinks/pitchers are cheap too! They also serve food but unfortunately the kitchen was closed today when I went. I like coming here because the music just gets you hyped and makes you wanna dance lol. 4 stars because I would like to see their upstairs, so maybe when they're done remodeling I can check it out. However, I wouldn't recommend going on a Sunday night because it's always super packed and would take a really long time for you to get to your table and eat. It's been a while since we've came here. But this visit definitely was not it. The service is definitely not there. When we finally got seated, it took about 15 minutes for our server to come greet us. Server only came because we notified staff that we were sitting there for a while. Didn't get our waters until half way through the meal. The whole time we were there we weren't check up on once, we had to grab the server every time. When it came time to pay, we split the bill in two and we both paid cash. My part was $76.06. I handed him $100.06 and then my sister in law handed him correct change. He asked my sister in law if she needed change and she told him no. We waited for about 10 mins and he never came back. So when we asked him for my $24 change he said he put it into the register for tip and that there was no way that he could open the register back up to get my change back. When I am craving for hot pot and can't decide on where to go to get a bang for my bucks, I luv hot pot is always the ideal spot! There are tons of variation you can get to add to your hot pot broth, maybe a little too much that it can get a little overwhelming, but I'm not saying that's a bad thing. My go-to broth is the thai style and if it happens to be a day where it doesn't meet your tastebuds expedition, then just add more seasonings until you're satisfied straight from the sauce bar. Just so you know, different colored plates from the conveyor are coded for different prices. I love this hot pot concept and the place is quite spacious. read more

Hearing about this place, we decided to give it a try hearing about the 1 dollar per game special going on this week. Although it seemed like a good deal at first, the $5 or so/2 hours + shoes ended up being more worth it. The place felt pretty cheaply built, but I mean you get what you pay for. We got through around 3 games, but both of our lanes kept needing to be reset, to the point it got really annoying. At the end, one of our lanes stopped working altogether, and resetting it won't even help. I think it would be a little more worthwhile to pay a little more to go to Brunswick or another venue instead. There's a newly renovated Brunswick in the metro-area, and it's definitely worth the price. But if you want a cheap, not so busy bowling place to hang out with friends or to practice, this is would fit for you. The concept of this place is fun, in theory, but it's the practicality, the basic notion of freshness, lack of variety, price, and overall method of delivery are what gave me the 2 star rating for I Luv Hot Pot. I finally decided to check this place out. I'm still on the search for all-you-can-eat hotpot but so far, I've not found it to the extent that it has the freshness of ingredients as well as promptness of service. Most hot pot places in Atlanta have one or the other. Let's start it on down the road. Why I'm saying this place is fun, in theory, is because you choose your own ingredients. It all starts with your broth. They give you a selection of beef, chicken, all the way through kim-chee. This is obviously more Vietnamese style than Chinese style because Chinese style hot pot provides spicy, herbal, or regular style flavors. I Luv Hot Pot does not afford that for their customers. From there, via a conveyor belt, you choose the ingredients you want in your broth. There is a range of toppings/sides to choose from but they vary in terms of price. What I mean is this. This place uses a color system to provide the pricing for your lunch or dinner. Each place on the belt signifies a color which denotes the price of the side. So for 2 eggs, it sits on a white place which costs $1.50 and the prices go up. A red place side like snow crab costs $5.50 per place. Basically, you add that all up and that becomes your bill. Imagine now how crazy you can go with it. The green plates usually refer to your meats like pork or beef and it's $3.50 per green place. Between tendons, brisket, and ribeye, you can easily drop $15.50 if you're not careful. This is why it can be so expensive. I dropped $31.00 plus tax and tip on lunch because each plate has a value attached to it. Again, fun to choose your toppings but this is where it gets impractical unless you have some cash to burn. The sauce bar probably has the best selection thus far. The only thing they lack is the sesame sauce but they have literally everything else, even the tiny Thai chilis! I appreciated this! The staff is friendly and the ambiance of the place is decent but when it comes to the actual food, it's not much to write home about. You will have to gauge your own risk factor as freshness is not something that you can count on but luckily there is a steamy vat of broth to cook your meats in but other than that, it's only fun. No flavor, can be expensive, and a lack of freshness should be expected since your ingredients are on a conveyor belt and you never know when they change the old for the new and if the new sides are new at all. If you want something fun to experience, this place is it! If you want a traditional hot pot experience that's all you can eat, then I don't recommend. It is food, it is filling, but it's not the hot pot your Chinese grandmother would recommend, and now after this experience, I won't either. My friends and I went here on a staurday night while they were having their free first two hours bowl specials. We only had to pay for shoes rental and that was just 2 dollars. Great deals. Too bad, that night was also the last night of that deal. I heard they been having that deal for a month but I didn't find out till then. I would come back to this place even if the deal is over. I think mainly because the service was great! The guy at the counter was nice, took down our names and number to give us a call cause there was a line. He offered us free pizzas and drinks. The whole bowling experience was just like other places. But the service deff. stands out. This place seems like they are still under constructions cause I notice the bar area wasn't ready. The place seems kind of empty but its a very big space. The decor is very glittery. lol Overall, I would come back here and the plus is that its a great place to bring your family. Also, before I left, I saw that They also have billiards table. So will deff. come back to try that! P.S. Before I left, I did ask the price if they weren't having the specials, and the lady told me that its 30$ for a group of six people to bowl including shoes rental. So check it out! :) read more
