I called Edgar after 5pm that same day, and he answered. He even tried reaching out to his guys to see if someone could come out that night. Although that wasn't possible (which was completely understandable given the timing), he made it a priority to come out the very next day with one of his employees. We live in an older home with less than ideal plumbing, and Edgar quickly identified the issues. He offered helpful suggestions on what could be improved, but never once tried to push additional work. We truly appreciated his honesty and approach. He simply wanted to make us aware of what he noticed. We also asked him about a few other plumbing concerns, and he was more than willing to share his knowledge and guidance. Edgar is not only kind and professional, but also very knowledgeable and skilled at what he does. Highly recommend!

It was 35 years since the house was built and time for the tune-up. They did an excellent job of cleaning up. I also like that they are a Union signatory company with well trained and experienced people who explain what is and isn't needed and why. The price was reasonable and I even included a tip for the excellent service and communication.

I originally called Roto-Rooter for a clogged sewer line. The initial technician was fast and…read moreeffective at clearing the clog, but the follow-up was concerning. After a camera inspection, the tech and his supervisor claimed my entire line was 1970s-vintage Orangeburg pipe and quoted me five figures for a full replacement. Following a second opinion from the City of Modesto, I discovered the pipe was actually ABS from start to finish--no replacement needed. I was understandably upset and reached out to management. The Branch Manager, Devin, called me back. He was professional, genuinely surprised by the discrepancy, and took full accountability to make things right financially. Devin is the only reason this is a 4-star review instead of a 1-star scathing one. If you have issues, ask for management--DEVIN IS A CLASS ACT!

Technician still snaked the drain and believed, based on the "muck" that came back ln the snake, that we needed to do a jet clean and then a scope to figure out the issue. He quoted us $2150 for this - agreeing to deduct the amount we paid for him to snake the drain (that didn't even need to be done since the clog had cleared - which cost $395 plus the weekend fee of $79!). The next day, the city came out and scoped our line for free! And the next day, we had someone else out who inspected our line and cleared some roots for less than rotorooter's initial service cost! We also got rates from other plumbers to jet wash and scope the line, and they were a quarter of the price of rotorooter. Would never use this company again.

At the end of March 2026, I submitted a project in Yelp asking for help to unclog my toilet. I…read moreinitially attempted to use my automatic snake to free up the debris that was clogging the toilet but the snake was stuck and I couldn't pull it out, and so I got help using Yelp to find me a licensed contractor. The plumber was able to pull out the snake but it doing so the at the end of the snake it had a bunch of fiber glass insulation maybe the size of a golf ball. As he continued to do his work, he then called me a 2nd time to show me what he pulled out of the drain, which was a softball size of Wall insulation. We were both puzzled as to how insulation was in the plumbing. At first he said that maybe the installation was not done correctly and may have been done in a way where the venting just went into the attic and the snake ended up pulling insulation from the attic. But I then by checked and went into the attic and noticed that the venting went all the way through the roof as per code, and so the plumber mentioned then that someone must of flushed this material down the toilet. This didn't make sense because there's no logical reason why my daughter or my wife would have access to insulation on the 2nd floor of my house to even put down the toilet. I questioned him again and he said that there was no other way except that the insulation was put there intentionally and thus clogged the toilet. I asked him also if he had a camera to inspect, but he said he forgot it. So after "unclogging" the toilet he then did some tests like draining water down the toilet and verified that it was draining properly. I asked if everything is working order and that he fixed the problem, and he responded that he did. I paid him the $325 for the service and he left. Fast forward to today, we heard a bang from something falling and to later find out that my wedding Portrait has fallen off the wall. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the drywall was wet and moist. Btw, this area of the wall hides the drain pipe from the 2nd floor bathroom and upon further investigation, I saw that the iron drain pipe was disconnected from the rubber grommet that connects to the pvc 45 degree elbow drain. So all this time my bathroom drain was not going down the iron pipe but instead falling down like a waterfall down to the first floor behind the interior walls. I spoke to the plumber and he refuses to take responsibility and says the he did the job and unclogged the toilet. He insisted that it was my problem and that he did was he was hired to do. I explained to him that yes he unclogged the toilet but in doing so he inadvertently jarred the drain pipe off the rubber grommet that connected it to the main PVC pipe, and also it now makes sense that the metal snake caught the insulation from the wall rather than insulation which he suggested was in the drain pipe by someone placing it down the drain. He's arguing that it was my doing that I got the metal snake caught in the first place and so the fact that he removed it, he felt he did his job. Below are the pictures of what happens when a plumber doesn't have the right tools(camera) to ensure all the plumbing he worked on is working and in order before leaving a job.
