The food is incredible, and the staff (I believe our server was Jose) was so friendly, making the whole dining experience even better. The tiramisu was hands down the best I've ever had!

I Ricchi--4 out of 5 stars. The ambiance was beautiful and the service is A1. From the moment you walk in, everyone is every attentive. The staff is always checking to make sure you are satisfied and they do it with a smile. The food was decent also. I started with the calamari--very fresh pieces. I also had some kind of shrimp scampi. Our server told us it was specially made for Restaurant Week. The breadcrumbs were an unique addition to the plate, but overall it was decent, just needed a little more sauce. My friend had the Eggplant parm, which she enjoyed, but she mentioned she wished it was crispier eggplant! Overall, I would come back to try more items on their regular menu. Plus you can't beat excellent service--it will always having to coming back!

I do not know where to begin. The authenticity of the Tuscan cuisine is beyond reproach. Chris Ricchi has created a lasting experience for diners. We toured Italy through the menu and had one amazing dish after another. The food was amazing, the service was astounding, and the whole experience was exactly what we wanted. Exceptional quality with an exceptional dining experience. This is a MUST for DC!!!!!

My friend and I decided to check out this restaurant for dinner on a Saturday night. I arrived early and decided to have a drink at the bar while I waited for her. Eric was the bartender and was very personable. We exchanged small talk until my friend arrived and then decided to make our way over to the table. We purchased a Groupon deal which included dinner (an appetizer, an entree and a dessert) and 1 glass of wine per person. We opted for 6 different items so we can sample and share. Our server was Carlos and he was extremely helpful in explaining the different menu items. I was actually too full to finish my entree and dessert so I opted to bring them both home. Overall it was a good experience. I definitely plan to come back. My only confusion was when I was given a bill for $11 which appeared to be a fee for using the Groupon which I had already purchased and paid for in full. I will be following up with them in regards to this.

Beautiful evening on the piazza at Ristorante iRicchi in our Nation's Capital.

IRicchi, without a doubt, is the most authentic Italian restaurant outside of Italy. Truly, when I dine here I feel like I'm in Tuscany, except without the long flight and jet lag. Attended the Annual Cena Bianca dinner on the piazza, which had not been held since Covid struck. 140 diners, all dressed in white, ushered in summer under twinkling lights and twinkling stars, long white tables, white flowers, everything white. We began with cocktails and passed hors d'oeuvres as the Tommy Ruggieri trio played and passersby looked over smiling at the spectacle just off a busy street in downtown Washington, D.C. The food was fabulous, all served family style among communal seating with new friends who all had something in common: love for authentic Italian cuisine, prepared by a chef owner who earned her stripes in Washington years ago and has commanded her own slice of Washington for 30 years. Christianne Ricchi has earned her loyal following, and it was on stage, front and center, Tuesday night. Pasta, shrimp, pork, chicken, and salads that screamed for second helpings, there was something for everyone, and finished off with a delightfully light summer's dessert of panna cotta with a fresh blackberry salsa. A veritable explosion on your palate, the taste buds awakened from the slumber of winter!

Came here for our anniversary and so glad we did! From the hostess to the bartender to our server, the service was fantastic. Very attentive and friendly. The ambiance was lovely, very calm and romantic. The food was unreal- we had the calamari to start (best calamari in DC by far), shared the rigatoni and chicken parm as our mains, and finished with a heavenly tiramisu. Special shout to Jackie, our server, for making tonight so lovely! She was so sweet and attentive and really enhanced a wonderful night. Counting down the days until we can return!

This was one of them…read more My wife and I chose L'Ardente to celebrate two of the most important days in our life together: her birthday and our wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived, we felt like our celebration mattered to the people taking care of us. The food was incredible. We started with the Duck Hunt and Cesare salad, followed by the 40-Layer Lasagna, which absolutely deserves every bit of its reputation. Our cocktails, the Arancia Rossa Margarita and Negroni Fumo, were beautiful and delicious. We finished with the Gianduja S'Mores and Pesca Arrostita, and somehow each course just kept getting better. But as good as the food was, the people are what we'll remember most. Talya was incredible. She was attentive, warm, and genuinely kind, making us feel completely at ease from the moment we sat down until the very end of the night. She made wonderful recommendations, checked on us at all the right moments, and genuinely cared that we were enjoying our night. And then there was Robin, the Guest Relations Manager. She made us feel less like guests at a restaurant and more like people being welcomed into someone's home. She checked on us throughout the evening, celebrated with us, and made sure our night felt special from beginning to end. At the end of dinner, we were surprised with two complimentary chocolate cakes, one for our anniversary and one for my wife's birthday, along with cards celebrating each occasion. Those personal touches meant so much to us and were the perfect ending to an already beautiful night. When you're celebrating the person you love most, you hope the place you choose somehow rises to the occasion. L'Ardente did that and more. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere was beautiful, but the hospitality is what will bring us back. Thank you, Talya, Robin, and the entire L'Ardente team. You helped make a day that already means the world to us feel even more special. We won't forget it.

The complimentary focaccia bread they give you is also great (pro tip - dip it in the red sauce that comes with the arancini). For our mains, we got their signature linguini cardinale and the recommended seafood carbonara. Both the pastas were cooked to perfect al dente and were very large portions with lots of seafood. The linguini cardinale deserves every single praise as each bite is rich and indulgent. We ended with the strawberry cheesecake which was good, but very standard. The hostess told us we likely wouldn't sit until 9:45 so I inquired about the bar and the manager quickly stepped in to put us on a waitlist. Since the restaurant is connected to a food hall of sorts, she recommended we grab a drink there while we wait. Shortly after we got our drink, we received notification of an opening and were seated by 8:15. We had the burrata appetizer, Ragú x 2, and the seafood fra diavolo. The burrata was one of the best I've had since they serve it with pesto, pine nuts, and garlic bread. It was truly divine! The Ragú was not far behind. Incredible flavor and a generous portion. The seafood dish had a nice kick and had plenty of seafood, which is not common as of late. All dishes were also priced reasonably for the quality you received. As we sat at the bar, we had pleasant conversation with the bartender and finished our meal with a small cannoli that really sealed the deal. If you're looking for excellent Italian food in DC without breaking the bank, look no further than Caruso's grocery! Found it to be a bit louder than I would've liked but I think it was because of the spacing between tables. Came toward the end of the night and got seated and welcomed right away. I ordered the polpette, meatballs to start. They were quite tasty, but the sauce was a bit watery. Think that's just because the meatballs themselves were pretty juicy. Heard the focaccia was a hit, so asked for some of that. I was told they didn't have any left. Which was weird, because then another server came and asked if I wanted bread. I'm glad I said yes because the focaccia is very fresh and was a great addition to the meal. For my main, I ordered the vodka pasta, which was very flavorful and very saucy. I love a good, thick vodka sauce and that's what you'll get here. The one part of the pasta I didn't really enjoy was the chicken inside the pasta. I think I would've preferred a grilled chicken option instead of the chicken that comes in the pasta. That being said, this place is a gem. The prices are great and the portions are hearty. The pasta is thick, you're really coming here for fresh noodles and ingredients. If you want to top your meal off just right, you'll get the chocolate lava cake. Very delicious! Now, keep in mind I had been on the whole 30 and hadn't had bread in over 30 days, but am so glad this is how I broke my break and carbs fast. Two folks got the Mafaldine Cacio e Pepe and really enjoyed it. After some hemming and hawing, I settled on the Rigatoni alla Vodka. It was alright... I mean, it was good enough that I finished the WHOLE plate (again... no pasta for 30 days), but I found the sauce to be missing flavor and depth as it just tasted like a simple creamy tomato sauce that had little seasoning. Would I go back? Yep... even if only for the bread, but I would definitely try a different main course.
