Osteria Mozza nails the atmosphere. The place looks great, service was excellent from start to finish, and the prices are actually more reasonable than I expected for a nice restaurant in DC. That said, the food was a letdown. The mozzarella appetizer was fine but nothing special.. it's cheese and tomato. Everything after that was further disappointing. I wanted to like it because everything else about the experience was solid, but the food is ultimately what matters most. Unless they're having an off night, I don't see myself coming back.

We joined as walk-ins for a cocktail and dessert at the bar. What a beautiful Italian restaurant right in the middle of Georgetown. The service was disengaged, but the dessert was delicious and my Negroni was perfect. Definitely try the butterscotch! I will return to try the full experience. PS they even have your favorite Italian spices, pasta, sauce, and other goods for sale as you walk out -- worth a little shopping spree!

I had really high hopes for Osteria Mozza after hearing so many great things (since my LA years). First impressions were fantastic. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, the service was warm and attentive, and I was pleasantly surprised that the prices were actually pretty reasonable for a restaurant of this caliber in DC. Unfortunately, the food just didn't live up to everything else. The mozzarella appetizer was the best thing we ordered and delicious. My pasta dish was noticeably overcooked and mushy, which was disappointing for an Italian restaurant. I kept hoping each bite would get better, but it never really did. Overall, I left feeling pretty underwhelmed. I'd happily come back for drinks and the mozzarella, but I don't think I'd return expecting a memorable Italian meal.

Went here for a beautiful weekend brunch. Interior was spacious and immaculate, very airy and nicely decorated. Staff was as welcoming and knowledgeable as can be. We shared several dishes. I got the roasted eggplant piadini. A Margherita pizza was also ordered, as well as the steak and eggs. Everything was delicious. The piadini was a light, puffy and crispy round bread stuffed with a heaping portion of roasted eggplant with a yogurt dressing. A side salad of greens in and oil and vinegar dressing rounded out the meal. The pizza had a thin but chewy and crispy crust with a savory tomato sauce, soft mozzarella and basil. The steak was tender and slightly charred in the exterior. Great place for an intimate meal or groups!

So many great things to say about this place, best of all being its STAFF! We stumbled upon this place by chance. I insisted on going in here because they just look like they have good wine. Correct. They did. A great selection of respectable European varietals. We noshed a bit but didn't eat a meal, but I can tell you that the wines would pair incredibly with their menu. We ordered the olive bowl and grilled octopus-- which was made to perfection, btw. Really brought the wine to life. The space omg THAT SPACE! Beautiful, breathable, eclectic and yet wholly European lakeside chateau vibes. We sat at the bar but there was also a huge dining room, a wide green room (glass ceiling so it gave major outdoor vibes without actually being outside, and even a (roomy) private dining room on a mezzanine level that overlooks the dining and bar area. As mentioned, the staff were our favorite part. Special shoutout to Oja (spelling? It's pronounced Oha), Dominic (if I remember correctly), and a member of the catering/events team, who was so warm and professional. We spent most of our time with Oja, who was so delightful we proactively highjacked her time! Definitely will come back much as I can. Everything was such a smooth, professional, and obviously carefully curated operation. A stand-out place in G'town.

The food oin Osteria Mozza was on point the focaccia appetizar a high note, good wine selection too. The service was attentice and the ambience was amazing with all the energy of Georgetown.

10/10!! The service. The food. The ambiance. The inside is so beautiful and there is so much space to sit! There's an upstairs, a main level, a patio, it is huge!! The main attraction for me was the mozzarella bar though... so many options with different types of mozzarella and all so delicious! I did think it would be a salad bar situation with the mozzarella but it is on the menu and it prepared fresh which was even better! I went with a large group and we ordered the arancini, focaccia di recco, sun gold tomato Caprese, burrata and peach, tuna crudo, eggplant ripiene as apps. For entrees we got the pici, goat cheese ravioli, lamp chops, and then for dessert the rosemary olive oil cake and the strawberry gelato pie (so delicious, so unique, and I'd definitely get this again)!!

We were in town visiting our daughter this weekend and she made us a reservation at this beautiful restaurant in Georgetown. There is plenty of seating in their indoor dining room, as well as in their outdoor air-condioned patio area, or the spacious bar. The menu offers about twenty delicious appetizers, ten pastas, nine entrees, and seven side dishes. Our table started with the sungold tomato caprese, the shaved Brussel sprouts, and the arancini. All three appetizers tasted great. For entrees we had the rigatoni alla carbonara, the mafaldine, the goat cheese ravioli, and the beef tagliata. We also had the sweet potato side dish which was fabulous. Everyone enjoyed their entrees but the standouts were the mafaldine and the beef tagliata. Service from Daniel was outstanding.

I don't like judging food due to cultural reasons and how I was brought up. I was taught to appreciate food even if it is not upto my standards. That said, being on this app and criticizing food is something of an oxymoron of me. I bring some of the most strict criticism to the fine dining experiences I part take in. Osteria Mozza has been on my list for sometime but getting a reservation was challenging till last year. I finally got to visit last night and honestly, I am impressed. This might be one of my top 20 dining experiences of all time. First of all I want to thank the staff for everything they did fr adjusting my reservation because I was running late, being kind when my guest accidentally dropped a glass and helping us clean. I really appreciate the kindness of the staff. Thank you so much. The place is beautiful. The aesthetic is a mix of old industrial ceilings with retro Italian architecture. Coming to the food. Nothing disappointed me even a tad bit. Everything was just amazing. Starting with the Mozzarella bar. The bread, the dips and the cheese. I was delighted tasting everything. I would just come here again alone for the Mozz Bar. Then the blue prawns were marinated and grilled to perfection. The presentation was 10/10 but the taste was 11/10. The oxtail pasta was delicious! I usually do not go for pasta but this honestly made me fall in love with pasta again. The whole branzino was seared to perfection. It was salty, the skin was crispy, the meat was flaky and cooked simply. There was a bed of herbs under the branzino that tasted out of this world. Last but not the least, the rosemary cake. I now know that one should only eat vanilla ice cream over olive oil. Out of this world! This is an experience worth every penny! 5/5 must go for special occasions!

Glad we were able to get a reservation. The restaurant was busy and lively. The decor and atmosphere was great. We stopped by for a late bite and enjoyed everything. We started with drinks and appetizers. We ordered a bit of everything. Our waiter recommended Mozzarella de Bufala and it was amazing. We also tried the focaccia with Prosciutto, Bluefin Tuna Crudo and Goat Cheese Ravioli. Everything was cooked to perfection. So much flavor in every bite. Definitely a place you need to try and experience.

Came here recently Saturday night to celebrate my birthday with my girlfriends. The restaurant is nice, and has an energetic vibe! The bar was packed too. Service was great--our server Mili was friendly and attentive. We started off with the Nancy's Caesar and Shaved Brussel Sprouts--the Caesar was disappointing, just a few pieces of lettuce and oddly presented. Pastas were delicious and flavorful but were relatively small portions--we enjoyed the Mafaldine, Rigatoni, and Linguine & Clams. The 24oz. Grilled Porcini-Rubbed Ribeye was huge--well flavored, tender and cooked perfect! Whole Branzino Alla Piastra was just okay--fish was soft but it lacked flavored, would have been better more seasoned or accompanied by a sauce. For sides, highly recommend the Sweet Potatoes! Roasted Cauliflower was good but it looked like broccoli since it was green, but tasted like a cauliflower. For dessert, Mili brought out a birthday dessert (ice cream with cookie) and a lit candle for the celebration! We also tried the Tiramisu and Apple Crisp. Cocktails were on point and prices started off at $16-17 a drink. We had an awesome experience, would definitely come back!

From the moment we arrived, we felt like our celebration mattered to the people taking care of us. The food was incredible. We started with the Duck Hunt and Cesare salad, followed by the 40-Layer Lasagna, which absolutely deserves every bit of its reputation. Our cocktails, the Arancia Rossa Margarita and Negroni Fumo, were beautiful and delicious. We finished with the Gianduja S'Mores and Pesca Arrostita, and somehow each course just kept getting better. But as good as the food was, the people are what we'll remember most. Talya was incredible. She was attentive, warm, and genuinely kind, making us feel completely at ease from the moment we sat down until the very end of the night. She made wonderful recommendations, checked on us at all the right moments, and genuinely cared that we were enjoying our night. And then there was Robin, the Guest Relations Manager. She made us feel less like guests at a restaurant and more like people being welcomed into someone's home. She checked on us throughout the evening, celebrated with us, and made sure our night felt special from beginning to end. At the end of dinner, we were surprised with two complimentary chocolate cakes, one for our anniversary and one for my wife's birthday, along with cards celebrating each occasion. Those personal touches meant so much to us and were the perfect ending to an already beautiful night. When you're celebrating the person you love most, you hope the place you choose somehow rises to the occasion. L'Ardente did that and more. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere was beautiful, but the hospitality is what will bring us back. Thank you, Talya, Robin, and the entire L'Ardente team. Shortly after we got our drink, we received notification of an opening and were seated by 8:15. We had the burrata appetizer, Ragú x 2, and the seafood fra diavolo. The burrata was one of the best I've had since they serve it with pesto, pine nuts, and garlic bread. It was truly divine! The Ragú was not far behind. Incredible flavor and a generous portion. The seafood dish had a nice kick and had plenty of seafood, which is not common as of late. All dishes were also priced reasonably for the quality you received. As we sat at the bar, we had pleasant conversation with the bartender and finished our meal with a small cannoli that really sealed the deal. I'm glad I said yes because the focaccia is very fresh and was a great addition to the meal. For my main, I ordered the vodka pasta, which was very flavorful and very saucy. I love a good, thick vodka sauce and that's what you'll get here. The one part of the pasta I didn't really enjoy was the chicken inside the pasta. I think I would've preferred a grilled chicken option instead of the chicken that comes in the pasta. That being said, this place is a gem. The prices are great and the portions are hearty. The pastas are tasty, I've tried the spaghetti and meatballs, shrimp Alfredo and the vodka pasta. I just wish they had a little spice ! The Hugo spritz are a must order! To top off the experience the live vinyl music mixes was a great touch, on the Grazie Millie side. I really really like this restaurant. I will continue to come back and enjoy .

And they have a super cute patio outside that's far enough off the main street to be quiet and shaded. We started with cocktails. I especially enjoyed the Elderflower Spritz. You gotta have a spritz at an Italian place, right?? Then, we had our appetizers - the tuna tartare and buratta. Both were fresh, pretty and tasty! We loved the panzanella salad with the creamy burrata. And the tuna tartare was chopped nicely and seasoned well. The standout for us was their pizza though. Mamma mia!! The Drunken love with pepperoni and vodka sauce was to die for. Their pizza is like a mix between NY style and Neapolitan. The crust is crispy and puffy. It took a lot of will power to not eat the whole thing. The pastas fell a little short for us. The alfredo was just ok- not the best flavor. And the pesto was really soupy and a huge portion. Definitely, more Italian American than traditional Italian. We wrapped up the dinner with a cannoli brownie. A fun take on the classic Italian dessert. Overall, a delicious meal! We will be back for pizza FOR SURE.

We wanted to start out with the bread with the honey whipped ricotta, but some large party was rude and hogged it all for themselves (insert sad face here) However! We ended up getting the Truffled Garlic Bread instead, and, y'all..... I've thought about this bread several times since. It was perfection. It wasn't too crunchy, but crunchy enough, perfectly chewy, and the butter on it was perfectly toasted. My mouth is watering as I relive the experience. Now, keep in mind I had been on the whole 30 and hadn't had bread in over 30 days, but am so glad this is how I broke my break and carbs fast. Two folks got the Mafaldine Cacio e Pepe and really enjoyed it. After some hemming and hawing, I settled on the Rigatoni alla Vodka. It was alright... I mean, it was good enough that I finished the WHOLE plate (again... no pasta for 30 days), but I found the sauce to be missing flavor and depth as it just tasted like a simple creamy tomato sauce that had little seasoning. Would I go back? Yep... even if only for the bread, but I would definitely try a different main course.

With $7 martinis available from Monday to Sunday in their cozy lounge, it's an ideal spot to unwind with friends. I sampled several cocktails and found each one to be exceptional, but the standout for me was the Cala Rossa a sweet yet refreshing delight. After enjoying our share of martinis, our appetites kicked in, prompting us to check for a table. The staff was incredibly accommodating, allowing us to sit at the bar. We indulged in their pasta offerings, opting for the Capelletti and Rigatoni, both of which were delicious and perfectly cooked. Cucina Morini combines great service, delicious food, and a vibrant atmosphere, making it a fun visit for anyone looking to enjoy a fantastic night out.

Not saying that dining companions are distracting, but I felt like I could fully experience the flavor of both the Taglioni Neri and Gnocchi, both half portions at $10 each, better on my own. When the dishes came, I saw that the sauces were both red and feared they would taste too similar. After one fork full of each, they are quite clearly distinct. The standout in the Neri were the shellfish for me. Even though they were small bits, the pieces tasted fresh. In the Gnocchi, the saltiness of the prosciutto, though not overwhelming, paired well with the basil sauce. I finished a little more than half of each plate before boxing it up for a small lunch the next day. The service was great and the tall ceiling and windowed dining room provided a nice atmosphere. It was a cloudy and rainy Memorial Day, but I wondered what the sunlight looked like shining through those high windows. How lovely a space they have created to enjoy fine Italian dining in.
