Do not use this company! At their recommendation we had them install a Remi Halo air purifier and now a year later found that it was not installed properly and has left mold growing around where it was installed! Mold has grown all around our plenum as a result. I contacted the company to rectify this and they have completely ghosted me. They won't take any responsibility and keep telling me someone will call me but nobody has. I would give zero stars if I could! read more

Short Version I called LaCounte and iAirServices to fix a new install job by another company that went horribly wrong. They were professional, thorough, detail oriented and fixed everything that was not right with the previous install. They were able to make the temperature 5 to 6 degrees cooler, make everything nice and up to code, and significantly reduce the static pressure. If you are thinking of getting a new AC call these guys. They pay 100% attention to detail and will make sure it is done right to the specs of manufactures installation guide. There is a major difference between having a single AC technician installing your unit vs and installation crew where people are specialized. You will not have to worry about your install being done correctly. They might be a tad bit more expensive, but I assure you that investment will go a long way in having your unit installed correctly and having ZERO corners cut. We scheduled and they came out did the following (and probably more) : 1) Increase the return plenum for proper rebound zone. 2) Increase the supply plenum from 4' with a terrible workman ship to 8' with something picture worthy. Note: having a larger supply plenum is important part of duct design and helps with air flow. 3) Increase a return duct size to get appropriate return air, 4) Straighten existing duct work to remove restrictions. 5) Install furnace and evaporator coil per instructions. This is where they fixed specifically what the instructions said not to do which was done incorrectly by original installer. 6) Fix the electrical wiring outside to meet code. 7) Fixed the low voltage wiring to the outside unit that had the protective insulation worn off. This probably saved me an electrical short and thousands of dollars of damage a year or so down the road. 8) Sealed/glue the condensate pvc drain line. Seriously, the original installer did not even do this? 9) Moved the air scrubber to the supply side of the unit so I will work more effectively. 10) Remove all refrigerant, vacuum, pressure test and retest the unit to make sure there was nothing bad in the line. 11) Fixed furnace exhaust pipe to go to the right direction. 12) Fixed furnace exhaust to go to correct size outlet. At the end of the day the static pressure decreased from 1.4 to .9  and a 5-6 degree temperature drop but LaCounte wants the static pressure number better/lower. So they are going to come back and increase some of the supply ducts in our bedroom and living room because they are undersized and are not getting appropriate air to them. The crew itself fast, efficient, courteous, meticulous, and cared about the craftsmanship.  Heck, they even vacuumed up in the attic. Yup - that is right. They cleaned up after themselves very well and even cleaned up their mess in the attic. These guys are installation artists. LaCounte, his crew, and iAirServices care about quality and will not cut corners.  If you need a new AC, call them.  You will know that everything will be done right and if something isn't 100% right they will fix it. And they will be transparent... LaCounte said he is not happy with the static pressure number and they will come back to fix it by increasing duct size. If you purchase a new AC system, say a 16 SEER, and the install job is so terrible like mine was, it does not operate at 16 Seer. TBH, I would be lucky if the original installation were as effective as a 11 or 12 seer unit. I am curious to see how this system will handle a 15 degree day, but I suspect it will do quite well. I am lucky to have found these guys to help get us out of a mess. Learn from my mistake and call them first. We had a new HVAC system installed in May of this year and went with iAir Services over some of their competitors because of the reviews here and being told they do high quality work. The installation seemed to go smoothly with what I was told was only a few "minor" changes needed to comply with Austin Energy audit guidelines. They needed THREE trips to my house to install the air intake vent properly. (They initially installed it upside down and subsequent crews fixed the other Austin Energy findings, but failed to correct this issue). We also have a very high pitched humming noise coming from the air intake inside the house. A tech came out to attempt to fix it but needed a different part (totally understandable). That was over two weeks ago and when I reach out to get a status update I'm told they will give me a call later and never do. I don't think they provided the premium service they told us about during the initial quoting stage. read more

Great service! Frank came out and showed us what was wrong. There is a service fee for coming out, but that fee is put into your fix payment. Frank cleared out our pipes and our ac leak was gone! Hopefully no more issues this year, but we'll definitely come back to iAir next time. read more

My wife, pup and I have lived in our new build home in the Zilker neighborhood of South Austin for a little over two years now, and our builder connected us with Les, Mike and the iAir team for our unique LG split unit HVAC system. I mean this when I say it, but I have never worked with a more responsive, timely and professional home services company ever as a home owner. They come out at least twice per year to inspect and prep our heating and cooling system prior to the brunt of each Texas season, and have been there for us during any quick emergency or repair. During this most recent 2021 Texas winter storm, the iAir team was out to our home within 24-hours to diagnose and repair our system to maximize the heat output during a very stressful time of rolling power and water outages. We called Intelligent Air when our dripping and decrepit unit was "conditioning" us to expect a June sweat-fest. John squeezed into our tiny attic space and cleaned the equipment, cleared out the condensation lines, and then went around out back to juice the business end of our system with coolant. He then calmly explained what changes would have to be made for long-term, efficient climate control. Although we clearly needed a new system, he did not guilt us into selling off the farm to feed the pigs. He doggedly made the repairs we called him for and was eager to make sure we were satisfied. And he actually did more work than he promised. Crazy, right? I-Air has a hokey pricing system, something like "Band Aid" through "Platinum" levels of service, but you can insist on line-item billing and proceed. Also, they presently have a generous coupon online which will take care of the initial service call fee. These guys are not super-cheap-- but they are easy to book, show in uber-fix mode, and do a job that exceeds expectations. And I guess that's always a bargain. read more

After looking around town it seemed the only company that installed whole home humidifiers was Intelligent Air. I was nervous as I was now single-sourced on a vendor, but their reviews were great. However, the work was even better. I asked for a lot of unique things in my system (steam humidifier, alternative control mechanism, etc.) and the team delivered without hesitation. They were quick to come out for a quote, recommended a few things. They spent nearly 3 days on site for the install which required a full rebuild of my air handler. They let me hang out and ask questions about the operation of the system. Additionally, I desired a few small things (how the water line was run, etc.) and the team was right there to make it happen. I will definitely be working with them again and recommending them to anyone that needs a solid aircon company! read more

I bought a new AC system from Intelligent Air in September 2020. I am very pleased with their work and highly recommend them. Mr. Murray was patient, courteous and responsive to my questions. He provided a creative and valuable solution to overcome our restricted condenser space. He solved an air balance error from the house's original construction. He was not pushy in his sales pitch. He even repaired my old unit without being asked, giving me time to make a more informed purchase. He quickly got me all the equipment data I asked for. The installers were polite, well organized, efficient and quite competent. They were extremely tidy and careful not to damage anything in the house. They also observed all the Covid precautions. There were two minor problems. One was a gap that remained at the front door weather stripping. They reset the latch and deadbolt so it now works properly. They even touched up the paint to leave it looking nice. Second was a damaged burner manifold, which they replaced without being asked. Intelligent Air completely handled my rebate from Austin Energy. My check was exactly what they said it would be in their proposal. As the winter storm was approaching Austin today, our upstairs AC/heating zone quit. I mean nothing. Thermostat dead, and no way to get it going. Normally I wouldn't sweat it, I mean its upstairs. But it turns out our kids/grandkids are staying with us right now, so I called iAir. Literally within 1 hour a tech showed up, went right to the problem, and figured it out. Super nice guy, very carefully explained everything, and was out of here in less than an hour. The heat unit was pushing too many amps and tripping the breaker. He simply adjusted it and all good. Afterward the owner of iAir called me to make sure all was ok. Class act. Highly recommended. read more

After waiting 2 days in the hot summer for my AC to fix itself I realized that it probably wasn't gonna happen. I called around to try to find the cheapest way possible to get this problem fixed as soon as possible. I called around and decided to go with the cheapest service I could find. Big mistake people! After many calls and dealing with mostly rude people who could care less that my AC was not self-mending, a good friend referred me to Intelligent air saying she had an excellent experience with them. Not being from TX (I never even had AC in California) and being a newer homeowner, I'm pretty inexperienced in terms of what's involved in owning and maintaining an HVAC system, how often it needs to be checked, what kinds of things go wrong, etc. Intelligent Air went above and beyond, taking the time to clearly explain how the entire system works, the parts that tend to go out most often (including specifically in my system what they felt may go out soon), as well as tips to maximize the life of my system. Their pricing was reasonable and they were extremely friendly. I have a home warranty and they don't do home warranty work, but I'm not going to hold it against them, since I know how much of a pain in the ass it can be to do warranty work. This review is 2 months late, but here it is. AC went out, I received quotes from 5 different companies. Intelligent Air was in the top 3 for price, but once they came out and took a look at what was going on, they moved up to #1. The guys who actually did the install 2 days later (Daniel and Felix) were excellent. Very professional and courteous. Kept us informed of what they were doing throughout the process. Cleaned up before they left. Also did a couple of other tweaks to our system to help it function more efficiently. Now I want to replace our other unit with a Carrier unit as well because the one the installed for our upstairs is kicking out ice-cold air, and not just 'cool' air like our downstairs unit. Les has been nothing but extremely kind and helpful to my family during our air conditioning troubles. The company that built our house contracted Intelligent Air to do some work on the house and then never paid them, but despite that (and our finding Les on accident) he has been hugely helpful and kind to us, much moreso than the builder who didn't properly insulate and caused us to have ton of issues with humidity etc. Les worked from his end to get us a new unit which would lower the humidity despite the fact that he had no obligation to do so. We used this company due to all the good reviews. They came out on a Friday night to fix my a/c. I was sick that evening so my boyfriend handled the transaction. They got the a/c working in about an hour - $495 later. There were quite a few recommendations for my "low end" 5 year old system. I called other a/c contractors to get a second opinion. None of them have heard of the service they put on my invoice, which was a "voltage absorption system renovation." I emailed the tech asking for specifics but got a vague response. Anyway, I called another a/c contractor and we went over the recommendations over the phone. He said no reason to be concerned after I gave him the recommendations. One item was a code issue but the rest not necessary. I am giving 2 stars because they got it fixed but I feel like I was overcharged because they will not be specific about what was done. read more

I have had several small issues with my units and made the call on Friday. John arrived this morning (Monday) on time and was very professional. He diagnosed the problem and looked at a few other things I mentioned while he was here. He provided several options that varied in cost. He did not push the most expensive option and actually recommended a lower cost option to see how that worked before committing to the higher option. The work will be completed this week and we also got a great deal on the service plan. I'll update later as work continues, but so far, I am happy with the results. After returning from a recent trip, I get home to find HOT HOT HOT and the air conditioner was of course, not working. This was 10pm on a Wednesday night. I called Intelligent Air and two other services around 8am on Thursday morn. Clay answered the phone at Intelligent, two other voice mails at the other ones. Clay was extremely professional, knowledgeable on the phone and was AT MY HOUSE by 9am. He looked over the issue, gave me his recommendations and the rest is history. (Only one of the other companies even bothered to call me back and said "well, we are really busy and might can get over to look at it by the end of next week"...no thanks because by then they would have to deal with me half dried up and parched in the middle of the floor. Much appreciated.... The Intelligent Air team could not have been more professional and thorough. They handled all paperwork, handled it A-Z, installed my system, took plenty of time to check it out and left me feeling as if I had made the right decision in companies. This was above-and-beyond the installation requirements for a newer home, and they knew exactly how and what to do. On a hot July Saturday afternoon our a/c decided to go out. Since it was late in the day (and our regular repairman wasn't answering) I decided to check Yelp. After I sent a message to the closest company I was given an option to send the message to other companies nearby. After someone from a different company tried to talk me out getting service (successfully) I got a call from Johnny from Intelligent Air Services. Johnny told me he'd be here as soon as he could, but he was coming in from Liberty Hill. Now, I'm in northeast Austin, and when the a/c's not working...you just want it fixed. Johnny got here, inspected the outside unit (he had it lit up like Christmas), then came inside (which other companies never bothered to check) and got it running...freezing cold a/c. Johnny explained that I needed a part, and that Intelligent Air Services would get the part and install it on Monday...hopefully it would be okay until then. Well, Monday afternoon Edgar brought my part and installed it. Both of these gentlemen were professional and friendly. They both understand customer service and are valuable assets to their company. Well our furnance stopped functioning on Dec 31, just as the temp dropped to around 22 degrees. We didn't want to pay emergency/holiday service rates so we decided to call first thing this morning, Jan 2. I reached a dispatcher at 9am and was told a service tech would be here between 10a to 2p with a 30 min advance call prior to actual arrival. At about 1:40p I was called and told they would be delayed between 30 min to 1 hr from the original time putting their expected arrival to around 2:30p. I was called by the service tech after 3p and told he'd arrive in about 10 mins. 15 mins later, another call asking about our address, which he had completely wrong. Gave him the correct address and was told it would be at least another 15 mins. I called dispatch back and let them know and was told they'd correct the issue. It's now 4p, 7 hours from my first call and still no one. Not a good sign. Looks like another ice cold night. UPDATE: Very shortly after posting the tech finally arrived. He was able to ignite the furnance, it produced some heat (briefly) and he was ready to leave when it stopped again. He's talking with his supervisor from his truck now. So we'll see what's next in this "cold as ice" saga. 2nd UPDATE: Well, 3 hrs after the tech arrived, we have heat again! The blower motor was replaced and John, the boss, made the delay and address confusion right by providing a discount on the repair. The tech Eugene handled the repair quickly and knew what he was doing. Though he didn't have the blower motor model needed on his truck, another tech picked one up and delivered to us so we'd have the repair completed tonight and no longer have to freeze inside our home! I'm changing my initial rating from 1 star to 4. Can't go to 5 (despite the price adjustment) based on the super long delay from first call to arrival. read more

This is a company that I will be recommending to anyone who will listen. We have lived in our house for 10 years and have battled hot & cold areas the entire time. We contracted with Les & the iAir team to replace our system and at this point I would say almost the entire duct system. The crews were courteous and worked until the job was done during each visit. While dust & mess comes with the territory during any job like this they did everything they could to mitigate the inconvenience. While I hope to not need anything on such a large scale for a very long time, I do look forward to having them do annual maintenance on the system. read more

I hired Intelligent Air for a complete system replacement including new ductwork and relocating both the outside and inside units. I was impressed with Intelligent Air after just 2 service calls on my old system. Both times they came out within an hour on Sundays with no extra service fee. Both service techs were very friendly and communicated well. Someone always answers the phone. It's been Clay each time I've called the office. I knew it wouldn't be long before I'd be ready to replace the system and when it became evident my old system went out for the last time iAir was the first company I contacted. I probably spoke to 6 other HVAC companies and was most impressed with iAir's customers service and price. Les was very personable and took the time to run the design calcs, answer all my many questions and was happy to explain the differences between his design and others. I could only hope that the install crew was just as stellar. I wasn't disappointed. When Les found out I had no cool air at all during the first week of 90+ temps he scheduled me for install the next day. Les always answered his cell and responded to my emails immediately. He also stopped by a couple times during the install to make sure things were going smoothly. I could tell other companies have sales reps I'd probably have never seen again after I signed on for the work. The crew worked tirelessly well into the evening to get some cool air. There were some additional items that required work over the next few days and I would have appreciated more communication as far as what and when to expect the crew, but I assumed they were busy getting other systems running for other homeowners who were desperate for AC too. The workmanship is great and the system performs as Les, John and Edgar said it would. I'm very pleased with all facets of my dealings with this company and would highly recommend that you give them a try for your next service or bid on a whole unit change out. Clay was very helpful in getting me the price and answering my many questions and coordinating the install to accommodate my stores schedule. Daniel was in charge of the install and he and Angel and Carlos did a great job. Daniel and Angel were constantly talking about what options would work best as they went through the process of tearing out a 20 plus year old system and fitting in the new system. It was clear that they new what they were doing and were working together to get the best result. They helped me set up the new wifi thermostat and answered all my questions before they left. John stopped by a few days later to meet the city inspector and make sure the inspection went well and to make sure that I was completely happy. They filed the paperwork for a rebate from the city and because it was the first time filing a commercial rebate, there was a little confusion but we worked together with the city and got it right. My system is definitely one of the more complex systems on the market and the guys at Intelligent Air are definitely up to date on their technical knowledge. I have primarily dealt with John who is very professional, punctual, and courteous. Every issue I have had has been quickly fixed and I have learned something new from talking with him on each occasion as to how to better use and maintain my system. I have purchased the maintenance program that I feel is very reasonable and I can attest to to its importance due to mistakes that I have made in the past that lead to catastrophic ac failure that could have been prevented.
