The beautiful wife & I went to Iarias last night for Devour Indy. Food & service were great! Appears they only had 2 wait staff on but both ladies were very busy but efficient & never got in the weeds. We shared a Caesar salad which was cold with fresh ingredients. For our 3 entrees we chose chicken piccata, lasagna & fettuccine Alfredo. All were tasty & prepared well. For dessert we each had a cannoli which were delicious! I wish it hadn't taken me so long to make it out to Iaria's but at long last I made it! I came to Iaria's during our January 2026 winter storm, coinciding with Devour Winterfest. Their menu offering was 2 people for $60 which is a pretty good deal, coming with a starter, 3 entrees, and a dessert. This was a tonnnn of food so we each got leftovers to take home. The ambiance in there is pretty casual and homey, still with some Christmas lights up at the time. It was very charming and cozy. The outside of the building is very unassuming and I've passed by many times without realizing it was a restaurant! I think it's very nice that the restaurant has been owned by four generations of the Iaria family, I love seeing the longstanding traditions within the city. For our starter, we got Pomodoro arancini, which is like a fried cheese and rice ball with tomato sauce. They are fantastic and I would definitely order again. Our entrees were the lasagna, pesto gnocchi, and penne with meatballs. The lasagna was nice and soft, and could be pretty easily cut with the side of a fork. The flavor was really good with a lot of cheese and a nice red sauce. It was also really filling so I only had small bites of the rest of our entrees! My second choice with the pesto gnocchi, in which the pesto has a nice flavor. They also mix in mozzarella pearls which make this dish more filling - I took most of this home for leftovers and it was even better the next day. The third entree of penne and meatballs was my partner's choice. I had some of a meatball and it was quite good but I didn't have any of the pasta since it was just plain pasta with sauce on top. That's a good choice if you're a more simplistic eater, that's just not my style. Dessert was a chocolate amaretto cake, which has a really nice amaretto glaze to get that flavor to shine through. Yet another outstanding meal at Iaria's Italian Restaurant. This restaurant has been here for 113 years and you can tell. I was here before a few months ago and I got the Dragato, which is like a penne pasta with chicken and a flavored sauce. It was fantastic. I took part of my order to go, but my friend on the way home carried the box sideways and it spilled all over the inside of the bag leaving me with dry pasta, not good. The next time I came to town I knew I had to come back. I returned, solo this time, Sam was my server, and I got the Dragato again, as well as the appetizer of the garlic cheesy bread and the polpette meatballs. I had no idea something as simple as garlic cheesy bread could be made so spectacularly. I had it the first time I came here and I made sure to order it the second time. Everything I had was fantastic, and I'm not putting any sauce on it or speaking in hyperbole or recency bias. This is a little-known secret here in Indianapolis, and when I come to town I will make it a point to come here whenever I can. Was looking for an Italian spot taking reservations on race weekend, and Iaria's was one of the few restaurants with availability!Located in Fletcher Place, Iaria's serves a classic Italian menu with old school ambiance (think cozy, green and red neon sign-Italian vibe). Despite being packed, food was served within 20 minutes. My table ordered the calamari as an appetizer, which had a light, crispy batter. My entree was my server's favorite - the grouper piccata. It was my first time trying grouper and wasn't disappointed at all! The fish came in a lemon butter sauce topped with capers. I knocked down a star simply because the grouper was drowning in the sauce, making it very oily/buttery. However, the taste itself was tangy due to the lemon and capers! For dessert, I got a cannoli, which could easily be split between two people. The cannoli filling wasn't overly sweet and the shell was crispy. read more

The food is exceptionally sweet for our palates like sugar in tomato sauce sweet. We could not eat most of the offerings. Peeps love this place and love the food. I love the homey ambiance here. It's family owned and cozy. We got the Drogato and the baked penne. They were delicious though I wished the pasta was a bit more al dente for the Drogato, and it was a bit more greasy than I anticipated. Still, they were delicious and I would definitely come back. we tried this restaurant during Devour Indy 2026! the location was a little hidden, but the exterior design was super cool, and the interior had a great old-school vibe. we started with the pomodoro arancini, which were absolutely delicious. for our entrées, we got to choose between three pastas and went with the Manicotti, Pesto Tortellini, and Rigatoni alla Vodka with chicken. our favorite by far was the Rigatoni alla Vodka, it was super flavorful with just the right amount of spice. the manicotti was extremely cheesy, and the pesto tortellini ended up being a bit too oily for our taste. we wrapped up the night with cannolis for dessert, and you really can't go wrong with a cannoli! the service was also incredibly friendly and welcoming. read more

Very good place. But I got real confused lately. Back in February 2026 I ordered the veal Parmigiana and it was big enough for 2 to 2.5 meals. We got again in April and the same dish appears to have less than half the cut. Are they doing shrink flation? Otherwise it's one of the best tasting Italian restaurants I've been to. read more

We've been coming to Iarias for many years. My son met my wife and I there for our wedding anniversary last Saturday night. The old retro feel and the ambience is just amazing. The bartender had been there, She said for 40 years. We had reservations at 4:30 and was promptly seated. Our server was super nice and helped us with the menu. We had the fried mozzarella for an appetizer, split the cheese tortellini with meatballs, and my son had chicken Alfredo. The minestrone soup that came with our meal was just lukewarm and my wife said it had an off taste to it. She described it a bit like lighter fluid, but I thought it was OK just kind of cold. Our cheese tortellini with the red sauce was pretty good, However, the meatballs were hard as a rock. You couldn't cut them with the fork. You had to use a knife. I would not recommend them at all. My son really liked his chicken Alfredo. You really get great value for your money. Neither my wife and I could finish our split tortellini and my son took 1/2 of his home as well. I only gave s three because of the minestrone soup and the meatballs service was great. The ambience is awesome. The folks are very friendly, but with the quality of soup and the meatballs it really doesn't make me want to come back. read more

Visited on Friday night. Made a reservation for 7:30 but arrived early around 7pm. There was no wait at that time and we were seated immediately. Someone brought bread to our table. The bread was soft and the butter was too hard to spread. It took a while for a server ( there only appeared to be 2 of them working a decent sized room) to come get our order. We ordered soft drinks, a caprese appetizer, and entrees. My pasta came with a Caesar salad. I didn't ask for and we weren't offered oil or seasoning for the bread. On the way out, I noticed several other tables with oil and was jealous! My Caesar arrived. It had tomatoes. Weird. The lettuce was hard, like the center sections not the leaves were used. I ate a few bites. The caprese was great. Fresh tomatoes and mozzarella. Pasta arrived. The seafood pasta has the smallest scallops of ever seen (menu did say baby scallops), 2 shrimp, and about 8 mussels. It was delicious in a cream sauce, but something was still a little off. My wife had the fettuccini Alfredo and enjoyed her meal. We were both unable to finish our pasta, but chose not to take the leftovers. All in all, it's a decent dining experience with average Italian fare. It could be better, but I would go back if I lived near by, but it's not a must have when you're in Indy type place. read more

We went Iarias because we were excited to try the seafood pasta. We arrived on a weekday evening with no wait. Service was friendly. Unfortunately the seafood pasta was out for the night. We received bread that seemed like it hadn't been toasted long enough as it was soft and not crunchy. We ordered the calamari which was a very small plate for $12.99. We ordered the garlic bread hoping it'd be crispier but it was the same bread with garlic oil on top that was flimsy. The chicken Marsala and sauteed vegetables were good. The drogato was very, very oily. I don't think the price matches the value of food we received. We probably wouldn't come again. read more

Every Italian restaurant in Indy needs to move aside and make more room for Iaria's. From the outside you wouldn't be able to tell but this family owned restaurant is the BEST Italian food I've had. We went for devour and got to try the Arancini, the pesto gnocchi, lasagna, vodka sauce rigatoni and the lemon raspberry cake. The amount of flavor in each dish was to die for and it was all unique, delectable and refreshing. Our waiter, Bryan and the manager Dee were so kind and helpful during our time there. Iaria's is a place locals now about and love! It's a 3rd generation Italian restaurant from recipes from Naples, Italy. They have the actual immigration papers on the wall of when they came from Italy. It's a cozy place. No frills just good food!! They bring you fresh baked bread to your table. It's so good!!! It's soft and delicious! Try the olive oil with the seaonsings with it. The chicken Parmesan is delicious! It has the perfect sized chicken to go with the bowl of spaghetti it comes with.
