Had such a great experience at nesso, which is tucked into the lower level of The Alexander. I ordered the pappardelle and the puréed potatoes. Both were delicious, well seasoned and comforting in the best way. The atmosphere was warm and stylish without feeling stuffy, and the service was excellent. Someone at our table didn't love their first drink. Our waitress took the time to ask what they liked, talked with the bartender, and came back with something that was spot on. I went with a wine she recommended, and it paired perfectly with my meal. Overall just a really solid experience from start to finish. I'll definitely be back.

I'm glad I was able to visit Nesso with a larger group (8), to celebrate a birthday. This way we were able to try so many different things! Everything was del looks. We tried most of the appetizers. They were all so good! I highly recommend the burrata, the focaccia bread, and the cauliflower! I had the gnocchi, which was probably the best I've had! Much of our group tried the bolognese and loved it! Service was amazing too! Our server was very attentive and helpful when deciding when and appetizer portions! The space is beautiful. Parking isn't ideal, but they are by City Way and downtown, so tricky parking is nothing new. You can find close parking if you are willing to pay and there's also valet parking available.

I don't often give 5 star reviews but this meal and experience was amazing! The ambiance is very sleek and high end, but the staff was very friendly and down to earth, which you don't get at every nice restaurant. Their pasta is made in house so each dish was amazing, but would highly recommend the PAPPARDELLE of everything I have tried thus far. The location is perfect for a downtown night out, walking distance of everything, we went to a show at Gainbridge right after this and it was perfect! Lastly but most important, THE BURRATA IS INCREDIBLE! Seriously one of the best appetizers I've ever had! Will be getting this each time.

Fantastic meal! Excellent service. Chill atmosphere. Grow salad made me feel healthy before the pappardelle with short rib which I highly recommend. Best upscale Italian downtown.

Work's been running me through the wringerbut I always make time for the important things. This past weekend's dinner date was at @nessoindy -- and it did not disappoint! The ambiance, the food... my taste buds were doing the Tamia Shuffle . And the best part was I had a @crgrestaurants gift card! Definitely spinning the block on this! Go and ask for Miles, he was the best.

Honestly not impressed with anything I had other than the drink. Nero started off as 10/10 and quickly faded to a mess of over powering seasoning. This became find the chopped octopus and single diced shrimp amongst the pasta.Tiramisu was so soft, you'd be better off getting the custard. Disappointing for sure because it looks amazing.

You can never go wrong with a Cunningham restaurant and Nesso really proved that for us. It was my husband's 30th birthday dinner celebration and it was wonderful. The couple next to us were celebrating their 42 year anniversary and were given some free champagne and dessert wine from the restaurant. Nesso was next on our list of Cunningham Group restaurants that we hadn't tried yet, and they're all so amazing I still don't think I can choose a favorite. The cocktails were refreshing, the focaccia was savory (we saved a bite to dip into our pasta sauce, pro tip from our server at Vida), and the octopus was prepared wonderfully. We got a pasta to share and we joked about how we could order three bowls and be completely content for the night. I am a savory and salty lover so the pasta sauce really impressed me with the rich flavor. The entrees were amazing, and our server gave us recommendations for wine pairings to go with. The desserts were outstanding. I totally recommend getting the trio if you're a sweet treat lover like us. We loved how lowkey and personal the restaurant felt inside. We can't wait to go back!

Absolutely amazed by this place. Great food, impeccable service in a beautiful, modern space. I should have tried this sooner! I had dinner with a friend here. They take reservations on OpenTable. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly, and she helped us by answering all of our questions about menu with a smile. The meatball. This was great. Probably one of the best I've had in Indy. The portion is generous and the sauce was very rich. I read many good reviews about their bread so we had to order some. It was warm, fluffy and baked to perfection. We got two, but one order would have been just enough for two people. I ordered Bolognese tagliatelle. I thought the pasta was overcooked because it had mushy texture, and I know it was not how it was supposed to be. Mushy and they were stuck together almost. However, the bolognese sauce was so great, it literally saved the dish. (This is the reason for the missing star) We didn't have any room for dessert but I'm sure they are good too. I will come back 100%.

Nesso (a Cunningham owned restaurant) is located on the lower level of the Alexander Hotel. It's a modern decorated Italian restaurant that has a limited menu that packs a punch. We started with a couple of apps - the homemade bread with oil and balsamic vinegar and the meatball (it's one big meatball) followed by Caesar salads. For our dishes, I went with the Orecchiette - which was the perfect amount of spice and al dente. My husband had the Tagliatelle - which was very rustic and hearty. We finished it off with homemade gelato which was incredible!

Top-notch special occasion spot! I visited here for the first time for my birthday this fall and had a wonderful experience. Parking nearby wasn't too difficult with a garage connected to the restaurant and hotel. Service was friendly and since I noted a birthday in my online reservation, they brought a complimentary dessert! The burrata appetizer was a highlight, dessert was amazing, and we were happy with our entrees. The interior is beautiful and not too crowded when we arrived, although it filled up by the time we left.

Ambiance was 10000000%. Won't lie, we definitely came here for the ambience, and stayed for the food! Got some appetizers for the table - focaccia, burrata, and meatballs. All were really good - perfect to share with the table and all delicious. Salmon was perfectly cooked and every little element on the plate melted together really well. Service was great as well. Food came super quick and we had wonderful waiters. Definitely would be back if I was in town!

My Fiancé and I were visiting the Indianapolis area and decided to visit Nesso after seeing its positive Yelp reviews. We unfortunately had a mediocre experience. We made an Open Table reservation for a Friday at 5pm. We were the first group to arrive to the restaurant yet the hostess brought us to a secluded table next to the restrooms and server counter. We asked to be moved and thankfully they were able to accommodate. After reviewing the menus, I ordered a French Martini and was later told they did not have pineapple juice so I switched to a Cosmo. We started with the Meatball and Bread starters followed by the Gnocchi and Orecchiette pastas for entrees. The meatballs were quite dense but had a food amount of red sauce to accompany them. The Gnocchi pasta came out with minimal black truffle shavings and a very small portion in comparison to the bowl it came in. The Orecchiette was not quite the pasta shape we expected and overall flavor was more spiced and chili forward (a comfortable heat). We ended with the Bombolino, a recommendation from our server. It was small in portion but had a good, bright flavor. Our server was great and on top of checking in on us and refilling waters. However, the rest of the staff was congregating in the open dining room and talking loudly to each other which was distracting. The restaurant was nicely designed! Though the food was good, nothing blew us away and the customer service/hospitality was lacking; we left feeling underwhelmed.

I decided to treat myself to a new Devour Indy restaurant and Nesso had some of the most unique options for my pescatarian self. I started with the parmesean cauliflower, which is way more tasty (and visually beautiful) than you'd think. For my entree I ordered the fjord trout. The outside of the trout filet was crispy while the middle was juicy and had tons of flavor. Flavor wise, it was similar to salmon. My favorite part was the dessert - my first time trying panna cotta! The panna cotta was presented in a nectar-y pear sauce that wasn't overly sweet. It was the perfect way to end my dining experience.

Actually yes, we take our 6 year old regularly and they cater to him very well. I've seen multiple kids and they will make things like buttered noodles for the kiddos as needed.

The biggest issue, though, was the check. The calamari never came off, the meatballs for the children's pasta were more expensive than what was on the menu, and we were charged for an extra calamari dipping sauce that we did not ask for. Most of these problems were fixed but the whole thing illustrated a lack of attention to detail and an appearance of up-charging the customer in any way possible. Chorizo, fresh jalapeños, red onion, cilantro, mozzarella, and that cool drizzle of sour cream somehow all work together without one ingredient stealing the show. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the rest of the experience. From the very beginning, our waiter came across as disengaged and uninterested. For a split second, it felt like we were at Dick's Last Resort--except without the humor. While he did take our drink orders, there was a noticeable delay, and when he returned, he only brought waters and soft drinks without any communication about the rest. The interactions throughout the night felt rushed and inattentive. When taking our appetizer order, he moved on to another table immediately without checking if we needed anything else. Later, he briefly returned, pointed, and said "this?" to confirm the order, then left again. One positive note--he memorized all of our orders without writing anything down, and everything came out correctly. That was genuinely impressive. I understand that service jobs can be mentally taxing, and I truly empathize with that. We were also a party of seven and requested multiple checks (4-5), which I recognize can be more complex and time-consuming. That said, the overall lack of attentiveness and professionalism was still disappointing, especially for a special occasion. With food and atmosphere this strong, the service should match.

I've struggled with how to rate and review Goose the Market for a long time…read more I've struggled mightily. It's an Indianapolis icon in many ways. It's beloved. And listen, it's not the most wheelchair friendly place in the world. If you're a wheelchair user, you're in all likelihood not going to the cellar unless you're extraordinary with you're chair or you crawl. I remember attending a Yelp event here, and I just wrestled with these issues so much. It's not inaccessible - you can get in the door, though even the parking is a bit wonky and the curb-cuts a bit worn. This is an older building in an older neighborhood. So yeah, if you're a wheelchair user plan ahead. I am a wheelchair user. And I suppose I should knock off my usual 1-star for accessibility issues. But, I just can't do it. I, instead, choose to go 5-stars with my narrative disclaimer that there are accessibility issues here. But, my word. This is a great place and every single experience I've had with Goose the Market, including last night's Italian Film Festival, has been stellar whether I'm in their location or at an event they are catering. What is Goose the Market? First off, nearly everyone considers it one of the best - Indianapolis Monthly, Eater, Yelp, etc. Goose the Market offers a daily menu of sandwiches, soups, gelato, and small plates. It offers raw beef, pork, poultry, game, seafood, in-house made sausage/smoked meats, and more. It offers charcuterie - both in-house and from other producers. It offers farmstead cheeses, fresh produce, artisan breads, preserves, sauces, pickles, pasta, crackers, flours/grains, and a lot more. There's the cellar - Enoteca bar with Italian style wine by the glass and small plates (and it has all-ages seating). Goose the Market offers a wine of the month club, gift cards, catering, classes, daily specials, and more. What can I say? There are those places that are worth the effort. As a lifelong person with a disability, I long ago realized the world would never be perfectly accessible. It's never going to happen. I'll continue to work toward a more accessible world, though I'll also honor that there are those places where I feel welcome anyway. I feel welcome at Goose the Market, though I can't quite get the full experience. The service is exceptional, the products quite awesome, the environment warm and friendly, and there's simply no doubt it's one of Indy's treasures. So yeah, five stars. With a disclaimer that those with mobility impairments may need to plan ahead or have a companion along. Who wants to be my companion?

Bacon making class: overall I am glad I did the class, but think there are some things that could change. We were told we would get 1.5lbs bacon, and .5lbs bacon bits. When picking up the bacon, we only got the bacon, and none of the bits. This needs to be updated on the class description. Sandwiches: we tried a goose, and a batalli. The goose was good- nothing spectacular. I was a fan of the batalli- nice amount of mayo, appropriate spice, and good amount of meat/cheese. Would definitely get the batalli next time. Overall, I enjoy the sandwiches, think the sandwich class could be improved.
