Literally the cutest place. I really wanted to try their superwoman ice cream while in Detroit, despite the fact that the weather has been like the arctic circle lately. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that they have boozy flavors!!! What a good idea. I tried one of them, which was incredible but had to get what I came for. A couple scoops of the superwoman was very reasonably priced. The clear cups allowed for full visibility of those wonderful colors. Just as visually pleasing, it tastes quite good as well. What are those delicious flavors???? Too bad they don't sell that shit nationally. read more

Did not appreciate the way I was treated this evening. Came in on a date and got in line behind a family - staff was super friendly with them, let them try a bunch of stuff, kept recommending toppings for their kids. When they got to me, I asked to sample one of the flavors, which they let me do. But then they moved on, took my date's order and then proceeded to take sample requests and orders from everyone else in line behind me, completely ignoring me. Eventually, my date and I made it to the register and they were still taking orders from everyone else behind us, even people who were just walking in the door. My date explained to the cashier that I had been overlooked in the line and wasn't given an opportunity to order. The cashier went ahead and charged me for what I had wanted to order while they pulled in another staff member who was just starting her shift to make it. No apology, no explanation, and not the same level of interaction everyone else in that line received. Definitely not the note I expected the evening to end on taking my date there. Don't recommend and won't be coming back after being treated that way. read more

Stopped here with family on a trip to Detroit and was delighted. The staff was so nice and there are cold sweet treats for everyone. My son got the Super Wonder Woman, my husband got the Matcha with cognac, but my favorite was the Detroit Summer with passion fruit, pineapple, prosecco, and St. Germaine. Delicious!!! We came here on a whim after some sushi, and we are glad we did! The coowner Kiaria (sorry if misspelled) was extremely accommodating and gave descriptions of their products, let us taste them, and very proudly shared their roots and their amazing flavors. My personal flavor is the avocado passion fruit. The servings are smaller but honestly you don't need huge portions. The one scoop was sufficiently robust in flavor. They offer special events and taste creating classes, and although the inside is small, they state they'll even have a patio area come summer. This place is a MUST try. Additional bonus, women owned and they def OWN their flavors. Must try! read more

Found this place on our way to Selden for dinner. The yellow ice cream sign outside definitely caught my attention. So after dinner we walked over to get some treats As soon as we walked in, we were greeted w joy, energy and kindness. The owner who also makes all the ice cream explain all the flavors and offered all the samples. Everything we tried is so good. And the names of the flavors were also unique. We sampled the wonder women, city slicker and the one infused w champagne. Everything was delicious. Def a MUST visit if you're in Detroit! read more

Ever since Treat Dreams left for good, Midtown has been in need of a new ice cream spot to take over. I'm happy to report that Ice Cream Detroit is more than up to task and is stepping up to provide Midtowners the ice cream they need! The ice cream served here is so fresh that it almost has a gelato like texture. It's not clumpy and there's no freezer burn with any of the flavors. It's much better than Treat Dreams in that regard. I had the liquor infused butter pecan with whip cream and all the fixings. I've been eating butter pecan since I was a child. I consider myself a connoisseur of sorts. This was the best butter pecan I've ever had. I think the liquor gave it a sweetness that I've never experienced before and, like I mentioned before, the texture was second to none. Moment Gelato is where I went this summer for my butter pecan cravings. It's very close, but I have to say that Ice Cream Detroit has them beat butter pecan wise. Ysahi runs Ice Cream Detroit and she's just an awesome person who is just extremely passionate about her craft. She does an excellent job running the place and you can tell upon meeting her where the creativity of the store comes from. It's in a wonderful location, right near Seldon Standard and some of the other high end dining spots in Midtown. If you want a post date scoop to eat while you stroll around the area, this is the place to go! read more

What an interesting concept ice cream inspired by various alcohol and herbs. We tried several flavors and ended up with a matcha,peach and butter pecan. The butter pecan with bourbon was definitely the favorite among 3 of us. There are alcohol free ice creams and sorbet flavors. They are mid town and service is friendly. Serendipity today! Bc the local bar's kitchen was closed this afternoon. As I approached the door, read the sign and slowly turned around. It was at that very moment, that I saw, Ice Cream Detroit! I'm so glad that I did. As I walked acrossed the street I was only imagining what flavor of ice cream that I would indulge in. Let's just call the my experience as a whole, a 10 out of 10! All that made this area a big dead end it made no sense to venture into if you're not a Wayne State student or employee. This Sevs does some serious business. I'm guessing it does the most volume of any 7-11 in Detroit. Only the one on Jefferson between downtown and Belle Isle and the one in Cadillac Square offer any real competition and I'm guessing this college Sevs crushes em. Parking here sucks. I'm not keen to feed the meters and even if i was spaces are scant. Late night on the weekends, though, after metered hours, when I'm getting off my restaurant job grind and have a taste for some junk food this place is banging. Like crazy busy. Like I almost feel like I'm in an 80s movie or TV show where the convenience store is this happening hangout. There's more space here for hot food - pizza, wings, hot dogs, taquitos, etc - than I've ever seen at a Sevs and they keep it moving, too. The hot dogs are no doubt unhealthy but I at least feel like they haven't been rolling around on those metal cylinders for hours. The slurpee and Big Gulp stations are bigger than usual as well. And there's usually three employees on as opposed to the one or two you'd usually see. Even still the line at the checkouts gets stacked pretty deep - seven, eight or nine at times. One night I came in a bit earlier, around ten and it wasn't jumping, only a couple other patrons besides me. Late night, though, students with snack attacks are rolling deep. As you can imagine things can get pretty messy here sometimes with all that foot traffic. The employees do a reasonable job I'm sure but the customers just work even harder at tearing this place up. The trash can by the hot dog station just isn't close enough to it either. The cops are ALWAYS in here, too, even more than a regular 7-11. That night I came in earlier than usual was I think the only night I didn't see police in here and I've probably been to this Sevs at least 7 or 8 times by now. No good cheap dollar beverages here, they only stock the big Arizonas and even waters run more than a buck. They do actually have a couple functioning water fountains, though, for some reason. This 7-11 is just really extra and sometimes I'm in the mood for that and sometimes not. If you need late night convenience around here after the mighty Marcus Market closes and you don't feel like fighting the crowd here I recommend Midtown Market.

We stopped by about 20 minutes before closing, and the owners were incredibly warm and welcoming! They guided us through sampling all their amazing flavors -- each one freshly made, full of creativity, and crafted with care.
