Came in late on a Sunday to this cute shop. They had a basic array of flavors. Salted caramel and cardamom were great! Only reason for 3 stars is because I got mixed vibes from the singular employee working. I feel like it's pretty important for an icecream shop employee to have a good attitude and be joyful (since that's the point of icecream?!) So that was a bit of a bummer. Maybe I was misreading their attitude. Probably will still come in here since the icecream was good.

Unique flavors but definitely on the pricier side. A single scoop is already $7.05 (not sure why the 5 cents) so I went ahead and did two scoops since it was only a $1 more and then at least I could try two flavors. I tried the Key West Chocolate Fever and Cinnamon Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, both of which were good thought the cinnamon was definitely the dominant flavor. It wasn't busy when I came in - just me and 2 other women ordering - but the staff behind the counter was very pushy. I had barely walked in the door before I was asked if I knew what I wanted yet. The other two women asked to try a flavor and were told 1 sample per customer only, which fine. But in the maybe 5 mins we were all standing there looking at the flavors (and again, they've got some unique ones so it's worth taking a minute to look at them all), they must've asked us 6 times if we were ready. No one else came in during that time but I felt very rushed which didn't make for a great experience.

We were driving home through dc and really wanted cookies and this came up on the way. Realized it was in Reagan building food court but hubby dropped me off while he drove around the block a few times. Got three cookies and they were all surprisingly delicious: double chocolate chip, m&ms and chocolate chip pecan. Also got a caramel macchiato which was decent. Barely any wait but it was a little trek to get to the food court. Good option to get out of the heat if nearby.

Friendly staff and prices are reasonable. They carry a good mix of "old school" flavors and fun stuff. Highly recommend.

I appreciate that this ice cream spot is open late so that there's time to stop by after dinner! I love that all of the flavors are handmade and not just bought in bulk frozen somewhere else. They have seating in the corner and pretty lights and decor! The lady behind the counter was very nice and let me try three samples. She threw in a small sample of lavender on top because she said a lot of people pair that with matcha. I would just take off a star because of the price as my cone was almost $11... besides that this is a great place to try in the area!

This is my new favorite ice cream place! I love matcha lattes and the matcha ice cream was spot on. The owners were so kind to us and welcoming!

Cute family spot, homemade ice cream, lots of unique flavors. A bit pricey but you can tell it's made with love. You wont find many "regular" flavors here because she makes them homemade!

Best ice cream ever. This place is owned by and older couple and it definitely gives you that home like vibe. The service is quick, but I loved it. It felt like you were at your grandparents house getting a sweet treat. I dream about this ice cream and I cannot wait to return to DC just for this ice cream.

I really wanted to like this place because I love homemade ice cream and the fact that they are free of preservatives and emulsifiers. However I don't think I'll be back. It was super crowded, yet you just couldn't tell how the line was moving toward the register. There also wasn't too many places to sit (if any? couldn't tell) and the art work on the wall was super creepy. I would've taken a photo of it but I didn't want it sitting on my camera roll. Ice cream itself was spectacular, you can tell it was homemade as it melted pretty fast. Highly recommend the matcha, lavender, and the peanut butter if those are up to your taste buds. However be WARY of the price. ONE KIDDIE SCOOP at $6.50 is honestly the most expensive scoop of ice cream in all of DC. I would've been okay with $5.00 tops but $6.50 is already a high end pint of ice cream at the local grocery store.... I got two kiddie scoops which totaled to be $13.00. That's pretty wild if you ask me. If I were a mom, I'd be using that money to buy ice cream from the grocery store. The ice cream tasted great, but there are definitely other ice cream places that are equally as good that are less expensive.

Mom and Pop ice cream shop that seems to have been around for a while. Once you walk in, you are hit with the smell of fresh ice cream and fresh baked goods. They also have gelato. I opted for the cookies and cream and the caramel swirl ice cream and it came to about eight dollars for two scoops. Very reasonable, very delicious, go get some ice cream it support a small business.

They have a great list of unique rotating flavors, and it's always fun to come back to try out their new seasonal releases. A few of my favorites over the years have been their hibiscus sorbet -- a delightful dairy-free addition to their Hispanic Heritage Month flavors that is the perfect balance of tangy and sweet -- the cinnamon cardamom -- a super spiced ice cream that, despite being freezing cold, feels like you're about to drink a warm beverage -- and blueberry sour cream crumble. When I'm feeling less adventurous, they also have a really solid strawberry ice cream that uses real berries (none of that artificial nonsense you see in grocery stores) with a delightful fruity, slightly tangy flavor. There's usually a pretty long line, but it moves quite quickly since they don't allow samples. It's also a small space that gets crowded pretty easily, so I'd recommend taking your ice cream to go and enjoying it as you walk around Mt Pleasant or on the benches just below the entrance to Mount Desert.

They also don't let people sample, which is weird for an ice cream place. Overall, I would not recommend this place because paying $8+ to take a random chance on ice cream flavors is not worth it at all. At least let us sample first...

I've tried other DDL lattes from other coffee shops around the city and this one is by far the best. It's good hot and iced. The seasonal strawberry matcha is also very good. This place is great for the seasonal drinks and gelato flavors using local ingredients. My absolute favorite seasonal flavor is the Blackberries and Cream gelato. I ate it so much last summer that I could see the color of the gelato get darker as the season progressed and as the berries reached their peak. I got a few hand packed pints to keep in the freezer but they didn't last long. The mascarpone & berries is my favorite classic flavor. I've been to every Dolcezza location in DC and my favorite is the DuPont location. The baristas are chill and somehow their drinks taste better than the other locations. Not sure how that's possible but I notice a difference. I think it has something to do with how the drink order is entered at the register. At another location, I noticed my DDL latte was entered as a latte with DDL syrup and it was noticeably off. Not sweet at all. When I asked the barista he said there was no DDL button but at DuPont the drink is perfect every time. I'm not usually focused on nitpicking but if I'm paying $10 for a coffee, I expect the taste to be consistent regardless of location. Back to DuPont. This location has decent seating but definitely isn't appropriate for longer study sessions during busy times. There's a large communal table and bar style seating along the front window that is great for people watching (or construction watching). It's conveniently located, about a 10 minute walk away from the DuPont metro. Is Dolcezza expensive? Yes. Will I continue to use my discretionary income on $10 coffee and gelato.
