I LOVE this place!! Granted I haven't been here in quite awhile, but growing up my parents would always take me here. I remember it being family owned. They have the best ice cream, tons of flavors. Ok, so on a whim took my 5yr old son there for light meal and (of course) an ice cream sundae this past Friday night. The young gal took our order and walked away. A while later, she comes to the table with... My sons hot fudge Sundae. Mind you, I ordered him a sandwich AND a sundae. I was startled and reminded her I ordered him a sandwich AND dessert. She looked at me and flat out said "umm, yea. I put the order all in at the same time and they made this first so I brought it out." What?!! I clarified, stating "usually when I go anywhere and order a meal and dessert for a child, the meal is brought out first bc who wants to eat their meal when you bring out a big old sundae first?" She replied "well, you should have requested that when you ordered... I can go stick this in the freezer for you if you want." Ok, a hot fudge sundae with whipped cream in the freezer (ugh) after being ripped away from a 5yr olds grasp after setting it down right in his face in order to wait for a sandwich and forced to eat that first? All kinds of wrong! And the flippant attitude! So, of course my son enjoyed the sundae first, then barely ate any of his sandwich! Freaking moron! They may have yummy ice cream, but that did not settle well. Oh, and then she forgot my to go box and just handed it to me at the register AFTER I asked her about it! Smh!!!!! Would have asked to speak w a manager, but I was so shocked I just wanted the hell out of there after that experience! Won't be going back here for a while! I've been coming to this place sporadically for over 25yrs & NEVER have I ever had customer service as bad as tonight. From anywhere. Went with the fam for dessert & first the red head waitress [Kaitlyn] spills water on us. Then 3 min after she takes our order she has someone else [the Asian dude] bring our tab and drops it off with "Here you go" as it slapped on the table. We hadn't even had our ice cream brought to our table yet! 5 min later we do get our sundaes, the same employee comes by [2bites in] and says, "Can I have the black book back now?" Referring to the bill. Like Really? They were no where close to closing time, however they did have 2 parties of 8 coming in. I said no bc I wasn't ready. Then 3-5 min later he returns to ask AGAIN! I was so irritated I snapped & asked "Where's the Fire? Can I enjoy my ice cream? Are you closing? I will pay when we finish if that's all right". We have never felt so unwanted in an establishment. He literally was kicking us out. It probably wouldn't have been that bad if he was kind or friendly when he spoke. However he was neither. Upon leaving [and paying] I shared our crappy experience with the Manager. I went as far as asking him "Whats your problem? Were you trying to rush us out? Did you think I wasn't going to pay?" Manager blonde lady tried to return our money, in an attempt to make me happy. But obviously not caring about the fact her employee was a total Douche. I left saying "I'll tell you what, since he was so eager to come collect it from us YOU can keep it." With a tip. And I walked out. Maybe that little prick can go buy some manners. They almost went out of business a couple years back, maybe it was their lack of customer service that kept people away. [refer to other Yelp Reviews] Ps: the ice cream isn't bad. However I've gone when they didn't have like 1/4 of the flavored listed available or another time when they were out of kid choices [like Peanut butter for the sandwiches] and another time they had a limited selection of entree sandwiches [like they hadn't gone to the grocery store that week] read more

the service here is so bad.....no service with a smile here! five of us eating and we all got our food one dish at a time and like 10 min apart....then witnessed the waitress bringing an ice cream cone to a patron with her bare hands..no napkin or glove! thinking i wont be back! sad cuz food is good but service and time it took has definately ruined it! read more

I am absolutely shocked to read the bad reviews. We live not even 5 minutes away from here & are frequent customers. Some of the employees should probably be replaced by people who are a little more experienced in customer service, but the service has never been so bad I would think to complain. We've always been treated very well & have never had problems with our orders. We've ordered sandwiches, drinks, ice creams (sundaes, cones, etc) pretty much everything they have to offer & it has always been great! My personal favorite is the French dip sandwich followed by an Almond Joy Sundae. So so good! Just try to be understanding that most of the staff are teenagers & this is probably their first job. Let me just start out and say I walk in and immediately feel uncomfortable. The environment was very awkward. It says please wait to be seated so I'm just standing there and nothing is happening so I decide to seat myself. Someone finally comes up to us after maybe a good 7 minutes and gives us menus. However, we wanted to move to a bigger table because more people were coming, so they told us they would clear the big table. They take forever to clear the table so we even go as far as to stand up so maybe they would hurry up, but no they didn't hurry up. After what feels like a decade we get to our seats and receive our menus. My friend ordered the firework float and my other friend ordered a grilled cheese. The grilled cheese had a hair in it and when pouring the pop rocks in the firework float it started attacking my friend like shooting rapidly at him. They should of put a warning label for it. Anyways, overall it was just an uncomfortable experience. I wouldn't go back there even if you paid me to and that's saying something because I'm broke. read more

When we walked in to the restaurant, I commented to my wife that it looked like there was a cloud hanging in the restaurant. They informed us that the grill they used to cook burgers was smokey, and they didn't want to open the doors to air it out because it was cold outside. I took this to mean that their overhead hoods were broken, which is not a big deal, as these things happen at all restaurants from time to time. My wife and I ordered our ice cream, and went about our business. When we arrived home and dug in, we were both dismayed to discover that our ice cream tasted like frozen liquid smoke. It was completely unappealing. I would recommend to them that they find a new method of cooking burgers,get their hoods fixed, or suck it up and open the doors, because all the ice cream in the place will taste like a grill top until they switch it out. Blech. I'll try it again someday, but that was very disappointing. read more

I have to say that I really enjoyed eating here last week(3-2-12) The menu was updated to accommodate the new trends: sandwiches & salads...Cob salad was awesome. I do agree with one of the other reviews that your not greeted right away, But one needs to realize that the place just opened and everyone deserves a chance at a job. I plan on going back for more ice cream, that's for sure!! read more

I haven't tried their food, but their Ice Cream is so delicious. They have an immense shake menu so there is no way you won't be satisfied. They're a bit off the beaten path, so it took me some time to find them, but if you are craving a milkshake this is the place to go. I only gave it 4 stars because they are what I'd consider expensive, but since the ice cream is made on site and amazing, it's a trade off. read more

while I enjoy their ice cream I must admit frustration with the availability. I've come in 3 times in a row in the evening to find inventory extremely low or out all together. once there were no bananas, another time the flavors I wanted weren't there, and another time was on a tue after valentine's in which half the flavors were empty. while I love the product they routinely don't have all their products in stock which makes it difficult as a consumer to trust in their ability to CONSISTENTLY meet the demands. if companies consistently run out of items before close that can't be good management of supply and demand. I couldn't imagine going to a nice restaurant to learn there is no steak or shrimp left or ordering a pizza and hearing they are out of cheese. they r extremely pleasant and apologetic and I support them as a small business. I will continue to go there but eventually better steps to insure adequate supply must be implemented. read more

I hadn't been here in awhile and me my wife and my son after a long day at the beach, decided we wanted to have some good Ice cream. So ice cream company popped into my head... the memories of mounds of icecream smotherd beautifully is the only thing I could imagine.anf my son being 5 years of age i thought would be amazed with this icecream glory So we headed over there driving across town to reach our destination at 7:00 pm We ordered a candy bar sundae xlarge and the three of us would share it. 20 minutes later she brings it out and it's in a large Togo cup. And I asked her isn't it supposed to come on a dish so we can actually share it. She responds saying that there are no more dishes that there are not any clean..it was honestly the worst service i have ever had. The customer service was pretty good, except for when I told the employee I only wanted food and not ice cream, he seemed relieved because he "wouldn't have to explain them all". Ok... As in a previous review I read, no gloves were used when the chips were taken from the large bag to put into my to-go container. I was expecting to have a small chip bag included like other places might give. The bun of the burger I ordered was pretty soggy. The food overall was just meh. Oh, and even though the food will say it includes an ice cream sample, again as previously reviewed, it was not offered. Very disappointed in the service that I received there tonight. When I went there tonight, there were only 2 tables with customers. One getting ready to leave and another table with 4. There were several dirty tables and obviously not busy. I ordered 2 hand packed quarts and got home and guy that took my order didn't even pack them. There was the equivalent of a large scoop.... maybe a little more in there. They were out of at least 8 flavors. Just very disappointed in the whole service tonight. The only reason this is getting 1 star is because 0 stars is not an option!!! We went there tonight for dinner and dessert...only our dessert never came. Our sandwiches were okay if that. Had we known that by "half" meant literally a square piece of bread cut down the middle for half a sandwich, perhaps we would have ordered the whole...although 10 bucks for a regular sandwich is insane. Our waitress NEVER came to ask if we wanted refills...and we were there for over an hour. When she brought the food out, the order was wrong, and she acted confused as we told her she was bringing a sandwich we never ordered. When dessert came, we ordered the waffle sundae, we were told it might be just a few minutes because they had to make the batter. 20 minutes later, the waitress finally came by and said that it was almost done. Another 10 minutes later (keep in mind we were with kids who were not doing so well at this point) another lady came out and said they were having issues and we were not going to be able to get what we ordered. The icing on the cake, or maybe I should say cherry on top, was when she said, "and what you wanted was really good too"...obviously or we wouldnt have ordered it. We just asked for our checks and left. They didn't offer to take money off our bill, but as we were leaving, they gave us a $5 gift card for future visits...not even enough to cover the dessert we wanted that they never brought out and they expect us to come back? Plus to top everything off, the milk they were giving to the kids, was out dated by 3 days, so let us hope that none of the kids get sick. read more

We went in around 7:20 pm and all the booths that were not occupied were dirty. They had someone cooking, someone making the ice cream orders and the server. The server told us to take a seat and he would clean the table. Then he disappeared. We picked a table that had one glass and a couple of dirty napkins on it. After we were seated, six other people came in. They were basically told the same thing. The person that was making the ice creams, came out and removed the dirty dishes and wiped off everyone's table but ours. He gave them menus and took their orders also. After 18 min. The original server came out of the back and came over and cleared the table off, but didn't wipe it off. Gave us menus. We ordered and then instead of putting our order in he went and took another order. 15 minutes later our burgers came out. The buns were cold like they had been in the refrigerator, there was no onions on the burger either even though the menu said it came with onion. The server asked if we wanted ice cream, but they were out of a lot of the flavors. We ordered the special, which was a mint chip Sunday with marshmallows topping. It was okay but nothing special. About 8:15 pm another employee came in and disappeared to the back. They definitely need some organization skills training or a manager that makes sure people are doing their jobs. The server would go and talk with the other employees when he wasn't doing anything. Instead of busing tables. We will not be going back ever! read more

We had a party of 5. We had to move tables to sit down. We sat there 10 min before we received our menus. Then another 10 minutes before we were asked what we wanted to drink. The coffee was cold. We then finally got our order in 10 minutes after that. As we sat the very large booth was getting their orders a little at a time. We got one of our orders 15 minutes after sitting. Then waited another 15 minutes for a milkshake (that sat on the counter for 8 minutes). Now I forgot to mention, when we did order they were out of coffee ice cream. So that person ordered peanut butter and coconut. The girl came over to tell us that the coconut ice cream was out nearly 20 minutes after we ordered, there was coconut when we ordered. So our guest cancelled his ice cream all together. My husband said, "Just cancel the other orders we will pay for the items we received" and we left. There was 6 people working that we could see. There was apparently someone eating there that was an employee, because they got their stuff not sure if soup or milkshakes and went out the back door. Now when we received the milkshake the people at the booth next to us party of 4 got two of their orders. How is that when we had ours in way before theirs. This seems to be common at this ice cream parlor. We are very loyal and come here often. At this point we will not be back for a very long time or never.These people all looked new, never seemed in a rush to help or check on any of the guests in the parlor. Not sure why you are still in business. I really don't understand how you can ever run out of ice cream. The walk in guests get helped before we even got our full order is that why there was no coconut when they finally got to us???? That is not good business and not good customer service. read more
