I've been a customer for over ten years, and today I had the worst experience I've ever had at your location on April 30th 2026. I came in to order ice cream for my five-year-old. One of your staff threw a fit when I said my son had a peanut allergy. She assumed my cousin, who was with me, was my child She didn't bother to ask or listen when I tried to explain, and then threw the ice cream away with a really poor attitude. I love your ice cream and I've been coming here for years, but this experience left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome. If you're a parent with a child with an allergy, I would highly recommend to reconsider going here. Im very disappointed. read more

We had a Sunday stroll on the waterfront in Tacoma and as always the line was out the door but went sort of quickly. As soon as we got in we were greeted nicely and there was plenty of room while waiting and in and outside of the establishment was nice and bright and clean. Love this place. Always clean, staff is always friendly. Got a split scoop of Valhalla and roasted banana in a waffle cone which I highly recommend giving a try. Looks like the prices have recently gone up a bit. Total was about $10 for the cone with a split scoop but times are tough so I get it. The girl who helped my family was very rude and seemed annoyed that we were there. I was honestly shocked at her attitude. Usually the customer service here is great. I don't usually eat ice cream, but when I do, Ice Cream Social is where it's at! They have a wide variety of flavours, including rotating seasonals. Overall the coconut almond poppy is probably my fave, but I haven't found one that I didn't like! They also usually have a couple of vegan options on board as well. It's a long long line today but it's worth it! They have a separate place for ice cream tasting and buying ice cream so you get to try while waiting in line. Now I know why they worth the vibe. I walked into Ice Cream Social. My first time at this location. I haven't gone for years to Ice Cream Social. I forget how good it is and why I love this specific ice cream shop. I love Ruston Way but it's always busy there. I loved the colors of the interior. The owners and the team did a great job at designing this perfect ice cream shop. It's cozy and welcoming. Colorful and vibrant. The little girl within got giddy excited to sample flavors and choose what she wants. The gentleman and lady working there were kind and courteous. I tried several flavors, seasonal and their staple ones. I loved them all, even the vegan and sorbet flavors. Ice Cream Social does it right. I decided on a single scoop, two flavors. The almond honey along with banana chip. Together it was fireworks. One is more subtle while the other is extremely flavorful, creating a party in your mouth. I skipped down the street with my cone. Valentine's Day seems like the perfect time to write this review for Ice Cream Social for several reasons... So here I am! I saw Ice Cream Social post on their Instagram about their February flavor of the month, which is ROSE. I love anything floral flavored and just knew I had to try it. My boyfriend and I stopped in to this location (which is in a SUPER cute area) right when they opened on a Sunday to avoid any sort of a wait. The girl working was super nice and we were in and out within five minutes. If you like floral flavors already (i.e. rose, lavender, etc) you will LOVE this ice cream! It's pretty heavy on the rose, which I really like. I feel like some places who do floral flavors go a little too light, but Ice Cream Social wasn't afraid to be a little heavy-handed with it, which I'm all about. I've only been to the Ruston Ice Cream Social, so checking out this location was a nice change. It's adorable inside and I like the garage door style wall they have - definitely would love to come back and take advantage of the bar-style seating there in the summer! Ice cream never disappoints. This was our first time at this location. There was a line out the door. The line moved pretty quickly and it was not an issue at all. It gave us plenty of time to decide what we wanted to try this time. They have plenty of unique flavors to enjoy. Employees were very friendly and helpful. Staffed worked well together, you could tell they all enjoy working together. Everything is very clean. There are tables you can sit inside or a bench right outside. This location is great! This location is close to tons of cute shops and lots of trendy restaurants. Super cute place for a first date. I totally recommend coming here the next time you are craving ice cream. read more

I arrived a few minutes after they just opened on Sunday. Immediately as I entered, I was greeted by an employee and they were patient with me while I was trying to decide what flavors I wanted to try out. It has been a while since I have been to an Ice Cream Social and this was my first time coming to this location. Speaking of which, I love the layout of this Ice Cream Social much more than their other two locations. Plenty of space with different types of seating, bright lights and décor, and the convenient way to get your cold treats. I tried their pumpkin, gingerbread, raspberry swirl and chocolate orange. Each sample was amazing and made it difficult to choose, including from their usual selections. Since I was still deciding, father and daughter came in not too long after and went ahead of me. The employee showed the same kind and professional service to them and ensured they got exactly what they wanted. I forgot they can do a scoop of two different flavors, but I just stuck with a raspberry swirl scoop. The ice cream was the perfect balance of creamy and sweet, I couldn't stop taking more and more bites as it was just the perfect treat! Glad to have visited the last location that I needed to visit and will definitely stop by whenever in the area! read more

I adore the Proctor neighborhood and have had some delicious eats here in the past. Ice Cream social is new to the neighborhood but not the Tacoma food scene this being another location for them. The space is bright, clean, and welcoming. I was with a friend and my son and the staff were kind and attentive offering us samples and explaining some of the flavors. I ended up with the caramelized banana and couldn't pass on the vat of molten hot fudge that was visible from the cash register so had that added to my generous scoop. I sampled the chocolate orange sorbet which managed to be creamy with a citrus punch just like those break apart chocolate oranges I've grown up having in my stocking. The roasted banana was fantastic. I have a deep love affair with banana ice cream steaming from an early relationship with Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey and this was akin to the smooth banana flavor found there. The chocolate fudge was an excellent addition and to my surprise didn't overpower the sweet banana flavor. I will definitely be back! I haven't been to this place in a million years but stumbled in here after eating some sammies next door. The coffee cheesecake ice cream was fab and I had an excellent time giggling with my friends in the lobby. Ah, Ice Cream Social! Still wonderful as always! I haven't ever been to their Proctor location and didn't even know one was here until I stumbled across it. I do remember the shop on 6th Ave and farmer's markets where they first started and could get in and out with ease before the city discovered it. Which is why I went to this Ice Cream Social location in the winter. No lines going out the door like the shop on 6th eventually got and what the Ruston location gets in the summer. For ice cream this good coming anytime of the year isn't a problem for me. Also coming in the winter you see some flavors of ice cream you don't see in the summer like Candy Cane peppermint flavor. But what really grabbed me was their Sweet Potatoes and Marshmallow flavor. A flavor of their's I didn't encounter before or anywhere else for that matter. The Sweet Potato was lovely and awesome as always in general. The marshmallows complimented this flavor quite well and on request I had a slight dusting of crushed nuts which gave this ice cream even more charm. No disappointment here and as always Ice Cream Social makes memorable flavors and high quality ice cream for the local area! read more

Only issue is prices are up there, more mass production could reduce their costs. My personal favorite was their cookies and cream with hot fudge. My son was thrilled with the balsamic and strawberry ice cream as well. Wanted to say this place was very friendly toward kids. Icecream is absolutely delicious and I love that they offer vegan options (although limited and would appreciate more!). The only major kicker is the price. $6 for a cup of ice cream is quite hefty.
