This place is great except for the food and the beer. Go there to play darts but take a cooler with your own food and beer. Went there twice, first time I would have given 3 stars; the fish'n'chips were average, and the second beer was drinkable. First beer though was poor, tasted flat and not cold enough. Anyway we gave it another chance and second try was poor. Both beers tasted flat, and not fresh. We had the onion rings as an appetizer, then cottage pie for the wife, while I had bangers and mash. All three were absolutely horrible. The bangers (sausages?) were not "British" by any means, and the instant mash was covered in a gooey brown sauce that tried to pass itself off as gravy. The cottage pie was so bland my wife could only manage a couple of bites then left it. I know British food has a reputation of being poor, I think this might be the place that started that rumor. Definitely give this place a miss. Note to Icehouse management: Try harder! read more

Pretty neat little place tucked into a street corner in a relatively quiet part of town! We stopped in after hearing from a local that it was a good spot for a quick supper bite. The atmosphere was, admittedly, a bit different. It was sort of a mashup between an American sports bar and a British pub. The menu also reflected this juxtaposition, offering meaty burgers as well as pub staples like shepherds pie and chips & gravy. Nevertheless, it was a pretty good meal. The food was good. Nothing I would write home about, but it was predictable pub fare with a bit of a twist here and there. We had the smothered fries to start. They were great! We had great service sitting in the outside dining area. The waitress was super busy but still very attentive. We were thankful for her intentionality! This is definitely a spot worth stopping by for a bite or a drink. We will be back. read more

Trying this Pub for the first time I am certainly going to return. Arriving we found an indoor/outdoor bar and dining room. The bar serves as counter space and not a true bar with a barkeep. Of course that doesn't mean your cocktails will be held up at all. Our server, a very pleasant young lady, was very attentive and fun. I apologize for not remembering her name, I want to say "Kayla" but not 100% sure. The foreign and local beer selection is amazing and priced comfortably. We snacked on an appetizer while sampling a few German Beers. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a great selection of brew. Because we didn't sit and eat I don't want to give the complete review but as far as service, selection of beer, cleanliness, and attention I give a solid 4 stars. Just on this experience I would have given 5 for a dedicated bartender. A bar is simply not a bar without an assigned keeper of the spirits. Although we each ordered the 1/2 pound burger, our waitress recommended we split one. Great recommendation and one of the juiciest and tasty burgers we've had in a long time. Also had the beer sampler which was is recommended since they have so many choices. Thanks to the burger recommendation we split the chocolate cake. Try it! Super. Avoid unless you want to be treated with disrespect, or are a personal friend of the manager. We came in to a crowded restaurant this evening after getting soaked in the rain on our way in. We walked to the host stand as the signs tell you to do- a party of two was in front of us. We watched and waited as the table of two was sat by an older gentleman. We were a party of 3, and assumed we would be sat when the host returned. Another party of 3 came in a few minutes after us and was waiting for a table as well. The host- who I find out is actually the manager- walked up to the 6 of us waiting and proceeded to warmly greet and hug the 3 guests behind us, who arrived AFTER us. He then took them to a table and sat them before us. He walks back to us, says "I will be with you folks in a moment"- he returns and tells us he has no tables left to seat us at. When he just gave away the last table to his friends who came in after us!! He did not offer any sort of way to make it right- a free beer could've gone a long way in a situation like this. Had an ok dinner last Friday night it was little cool outside so I thought I'd start with Cup of Clam Chowder for $8.95 figured at that price it must be good it wasn't no clams three small pieces of potato but the oyster crackers gave it some substance. The rest of my meal was good my wife had the redfish, and the beer selection is very extensive. If you get the chowder, tell them to scoop from the bottom of the pot. read more

Wish I could give it a great review, we've been going for years. 1st. Order a black and tan - they were out of Guinness 2nd. sitting at a hight top that is broken and I smack my knee on a low, sharp hanging part of the table, get bruised. Tell the waitress, her comment - "yes, a lot of our tables expand and the parts are broken, let me see if I can find duct tape." Comes back a few minutes later "Sorry, no duct tape - you can move if you want." We already had food and drinks, not really going to move our whole table. 3rd. We order the brownie with out walnuts. A few minutes later "Sorry, we are out of those brownies without walnuts." Don't you think that is something you should know before you offer up a dessert option? Food - good - but that's about all I can say about the food. Hope they get better about customer service and having the wait staff know what the are out of. read more

Had stopped in after a long flight. 1st time here. Loved the atmosphere. Wish we had a place dedicated to dart boards like this place. Had the Boneless Chicken, these were not frozen and hand dipped delish. Others in our party had Roast Beef sandwich look fabulous and another the Beef pie? I call it Shepard Pie. It was one of our first stops on our first month long stay in the area three years ago, and we found it well worth our trek from North Ft Myers. As craft beer aficionados, we were so impressed with the selection, and the helpful, friendly staff made us feel like locals. The prices on these menus bare no relation to prices now. It says 12.99 for cheese and fruit plate, it is 19.00. All the prices have been raised considerably and the food quality has definitely dropped as well as the service. Too bad. Used to be a great place. read more

What a great find in PG! We had been to the fisherman's village for lunch but wanted to try something closer to town. And did we hit the jack pot!Atmosphere and food and service was great. As in the name it is an OLD ICE HOUSE and Hurricane Charlie did some big damage..but repaired beautifully. Their food is yummy especially my grilled redfish sandwich and hubby had the lightly ale breaded cod sandwich. Oh, the sweet potato waffle fries tasted like mini donuts crispy and slightly sweet with a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar!! Sucked! We don't go out often, so I read reviews b/4, and they were good. My son liked his cheeseburger but my wife and I came for the fish and chips. They no longer have an upgrade for cod, they just charge for cod and give you tasteless crap. The waitress asked and I told her the fish was tasteless, 10 minutes later a manager came over and told us how good the fish is and didn't care what we said, but he proceeded to tell us how good their food is and how they make the batter with beer. (Genius). The couple across from us overheard us tell the manager the fish was terrible, and came over and told us their meals were also terrible. We were charged full price, maybe they need a real manager, and fresh fish. Stay away. read more

We ate here today and ordered artichoke hearts, a beer, burger and fries. I'd give it three and a half stars if I could. I was told the burger was great (medium rare.) My hearts could have been a bit warmer but the big fat fries were so hot we had to wait a minute or two before we could eat them. So I asked for extra sauce for the hearts and I got it along with an additional $.50 charge when the bill came. It would have been nice if our server had informed us upfront that an extra sauce was an extra charge but she didn't. Is this place taking after McDonald's? They probably state somewhere in the menu that extra sauce is an additional charge but I had a hard enough time reading the menu in the dark. Beer was $5 for a domestic draft. Another disappointment. I can get domestic drafts down the street for $2 all day long. Our server was very nice, the place was clean and cool, and the food was good. Next time we go I'm bringing a flashlight. read more

Wow. This has got to be one of my favorite bars, period. A beautiful bar inlay and a great setting- inside Punta Gorda's historic ice house. Excellent beers on draft and friendly tenders. The real highlight of this place, in my opinion, is the gaming atmosphere. I had a blast trying my hand at darts and there are other games available- billiards, etc. The Ice House provides a fun time for locals and visitors alike.
