I'm giving this 4 stars since it is hands down the best place for a nice dinner in this area. The view is awesome - spectacular actually. The service was incredibly attentive but not intrusive and friendly. I was very impressed. The food was also very good. My salad was fresh and the dressing was served on the side which I appreciate. I had the rib eye steak from the twilight menu which was cooked to my request. The mashed potatoes are to die for! I'd like to have taken them home for breakfast actually. Husband had the pasta primavera which he enjoyed. Dad had the short rib and he is hard to please. Mom had the pork chop which she also enjoyed. I will look forward to returning and am so thankful for a nice place to eat out when visiting the parents in Prescott. read more

Slow slow service, fair food, nothing to get excited about. Great view. Go for water on the rocks and enjoy the view. A super palette of geography and unrealized food service. Not recommended. Understaffed and very overrated. read more

There has been a total change in the wait staff AND the kitchen. They are still finding their way, and we will not be returning until they have found it. Service was not what we have been used to, and the food is not up to the past standard. Too bad, as this was a regular for us for 5 years or more. read more

I had the Filet Steak and it wasn't very tender. I ordered filet because it is usually very tender and this was not. For the price I expected a better grade of beef than it was. My husband had the Boneless Short Rib and it was not very tender either. Would not order again. In fact will skip dinner here and just maybe go for breakfast or lunch. Also, they have discontinued their Sunset dinner specials (even though shown on web site). read more

In late 2010 the Prescott Resort completely remodeled their dining room, adding beautiful and comfortable appointments. The view of the Prescott area is unsurpassed. Unfortunately, the food and service in the lovely room are still sadly unremarkable. Servers are either brand new at the profession or under trained, or both. Basics like replacing silverware if it happens to fall or replenishing water are not a given. And our server the night we were there over the holidays acted like she would have much rather been somewhere else. Unfortunate, especially since we were one of the first there. The menu is ambitious and there are a wide variety of choices. That night we chose salmon and crab stuffed shrimp. The large portion of salmon was not cooked enough and had an odd bread crumb-dollop-of-butter topping. The shrimp were tough, with the breadcrumbs overpowering the crab. The rice pilaf was uninspired and the vegetable was undercooked carrots. All in all not showing a master hand in the kitchen. The salads are works of art, but the little bread chunks served with the olive oil and herbs for dunking are too doughy. Also, getting the herbs from the bottom of the oil in the little container requires a smaller implement than is provided. All in all the resort is making an effort, but whether they are impeded by mismanagement, lack of qualified staff and training, or a lack of knowledge of real-world four star restaurants, Icha Maajor is not the great place to dine that it could be. read more

This place was a great surprise. You don't usually expect much from a hotel restaurant, but it was so good we kept coming back. Breakfast was pretty standard stuff, but all well done and excellent. Prices for bfast weren't bad. Dinner was great. The "Angry Calamari" is outstanding. Also, the vegetable wellington was great. The pork tenderloin was also excellent. I have come to the realization that there is no fine dining in Prescott and this is no exception. Polyester linens - one of my pet peeves. Polyester napkins are worthless for wiping your hands. We had a new waiter who was very personable and tried his best, but had not had enough training. I had looked online and saw that they had early bird specials, I called to find out what they were, but no one knew. We went in anyway hoping the restaurant people would know. The EB specials we went in for included salad and dessert. These were priced separately when we went in. They explained that they no longer had early bird specials. At that point it was too late & too much hassle to go somewhere else. Along with the entree this ended up being a $45 to $50 dinner with salad and dessert. NOT a good value. Is this a bait & switch? Please keep website up to date and train your people who answer the phone. Most appetizers were seafood, except for a beef carpaccio which three of our party do not eat, so we had no appetizer option. The wine list was limited, overpriced and not particularly interesting. I ordered a beet salad $9, and two others in my party elected to split a salad. My beet salad came out on two plates, split. The caesar was supposed to be the split one, which they eventually got right, but they took away the second half of my beet salad and I was charged the full amount. The entrees we ordered, filet, pork and a scallops were actually pretty good, but for these prices the whole experience including service and selections should be better. read more

First time customers. Food was delish, perfectly cooked. Randall our server was gracious and available without being pesky. Definitely a great choice with a wonderful view. Husband had the salmon cooked perfectly as was my braised short rib. Mashed potatoes were as good as others reviewed. Would definitely come back!!! read more

Ruined an otherwise lovely Xmas day. The 2 young hostesses were incompetent. The regular menu was not available, contrary to what I was told when I made my reservation. 3 of us ordered the $29 New York steak. We received a basket of cold white bread rolls. No bread and butter plates. The Caesar salad was okay. The steaks arrived, all improperly cooked and inexplicably room temperature. One of us ordered the turkey, which seemed like pressed meat. My steak was seared outside and otherwise raw. The roasted Brussels sprout -- well there was 1 1/2 sprouts per plate -- seemed raw but tasted burnt! Each plate got literally an ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes and parsnips that tasted like neither. The steaks were small and thin cut and smothered with a thickened sauce that was almost like teriyaki. The table decorations featured a glass bowl with 5 glass Xmas tree balls that had ornament hooks in them plus a scraggly strand of tinsel. What a bummer! I refused a replacement meal and asked the meal be taken off my tab. The couple at the next table complained and got their meal comped. I then asked that the two other uneaten meals be removed from my tab, and the entire awful meal was comped. I tipped the waitress $20 and declined the proffered dessert. Yuck. read more

Whether for breakfast or dinner. the service is very slow. The dinners are definitely not worth waiting for. It took half an hour to serve a basic bacon and egg breakfast. The hash browns were under cooked. The rib eye chop was tough. Most of the dinner items are heavy on jalopena, even the cold stale bread served at dinner. read more

Buffet at Icha Maajoh is terrible. Prime rib was almost raw..The roast pork was over cooked...the lamb was over cooked...the staff needs more training...should have no stars......better go to the Golden Coral read more

unfortunately the menu changed and the prices higher then what is shown on website. had i seen that i never would have gone we all had osso bucca pork the pork was good but sides were not i had white asparagus which was sooo chewy i could have used for gum. the side rice very salty, the bread the give you is medicore at best. and if you want a salad for 10.00 dont expect anything special. our friend wanted some tomatoes for her salad and that was 2.50 extra.. way better restaurants in town. Pappas italian restaurant is still the best.. will never go back to icha maajooh again read more

I was very disappointing, I had the scallops and they were the size of a quarter. If they have a real chef I would be surprised.

This is probably for anyone wanting to book a group reservation. With our group of 21 we had a limited menu which they required us to give numbers of who wanted salmon, chicken, and steaks. They knew what to expect from us so for us to have long waits for our entres was not only frustrating but very curious. That evening we waited over an hour for our entrées to come after being served our soup/salads. And only half of us received our food with the other half waiting over 40 minutes for their entrées to be served. So the evening dragged on for hours. Many of the dishes were cold, undercooked, and even frozen in the center of the vegetables. The restaurant is a lovely setting and the servers were decent, but it looked like they could do nothing to speed up or make sure the food was served fully cooked. Just beware of reserving this restaurant for groups. read more

We took our out-of-town guests to an early dinner here with the idea we would have a fantastic view of Prescott while we ate and visited. We arrived around 4:30 p.m. and all the window screen/shades were pulled down because the sun was blaring in the dining room. That made it difficult to see the city and surrounding mountains. We asked to be seated in the row of tables furthest from the window because of the sun. The waitress sat us right I front of the swinging doors to the kitchen. Convenient for her, but not a great spot if you are a dinner guest. Then, the menu came. PRICEY and very limited in our opinion. Two of us had the Scallops which the menu indicated came with vegetables. The vegetables were HOMINY COOKED WITH BACON, A FEW LEAFS OF BABY SPINACH WITH A COUPLE OF SLICED MUSHROOMS. The four (large size) Scallops were cooked perfectly and were a good size, and will have to admit the hominy tasted good cooked that way, but it was $22 which was way over-priced too much to pay for 4 Scallops. One in our party ordered the boneless short rib which was priced a few dollars more and never commented on the flavor. As host/hostess for out-of-town guests I was deeply embarrassed that I had taken them to dinner at such an expensive restaurant and received so little for the money that was spent, especially considering we didn't get the view with it. Will never take guests to this restaurant again at dinner. Lunch is the only way to enjoy Icha Maajoh where the menu is much better than dinner. read more
