I am giving four stars because, while the food was great it took quite a while to receive service. The server that originally greeted us walked past us several times while we waited patiently to order. However, what they lacked in service they make up for in the food. The dim sum options are delicious and the sushi is very fresh and affordable. I have visited here a few times and will be back again!

One more birthday lunch at Ichi Sushi! My go to is their lunch special fusion box or Bento box where you get an assortment of items. I chose the chicken teriyaki with fried rice, California roll, edamame and a salad with ginger dressing. My friend got the sesame chicken with my same assortment. Their lunch time bento boxes are $11. Such and enjoyable and reasonable lunch!

Stopped here for a quick lunch. The price was fantastic for the amount and quality of food. I got a Fusion Box with miso soup, half of a California roll, pad see yu with beef, and steamed rice. For me, there wasn't enough beef in the pad see yu. The sushi was great and next time I think I would just get sushi. I'm new to liking miso soup and this was tasty! The service was good. I never had to wait for a refill and felt like I was checked on enough.

I have driven past Ichi Sushi a number of times but never stopped in. In search of a dinner spot and on a whim, my husband and I decided to drive around until we passed a place we haven't tried before. We passed Ichi and I was convinced this was the place! We walked in to a half full restaurant and we were immediately greeted and told to take a seat wherever we wanted. We were seated but a minute before the server (the only one on staff), came and took our drink order. Once he returned with our drinks he took our food order. We opted for dumpling soup, sushi rolls including: eel cucumber, Philly, and spicy tuna, and also an order of drunken noodles with chicken. Everything was fresh and had great flavor! My only note would be is they didn't not ask how spicy I wanted the drunken noodles to be, it was more a one size fits all situation. If you don't like spicy I'd ask for mild or no spice, as they were a tad warm LOL which was perfect for me! If you are a noodle snob, these will rock your world as they were the correct thick ones and perfectly cooked. Also the portion was pretty big so I had enough leftover for lunch the next day. Not sure what the bad reviews are about, because we had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back again soon!

My friend Mitzi and I came for lunch. This was the first time I came for lunch here. My friend has only had California rolls. On Saturday they open at 11 am for lunch. So, I order Sushi Sashimi Lunch: #1 Sashimi Regular usually comes with spicy tuna rolls but I don't do spicy. They were very nice to swap with eel & cucumber roll instead for me. The sashimi is over and oval shape of rice. This is a lunch special...it comes with a side salad + ginger dressing or Mico soup. I got the salad+ ginger dressing to go. Let's say she didn't like the eel & cucumber roll...lol. Eel is my favorite sashimi and in most rolls too. She kinda like some the tuna, salmon sashimi. I love sashimi!! Their food is very fresh and delicious. I also got Unagi Don too. It's grilled eel over a bed of rice. All of their sashimi and sushi comes with fresh ginger, wasabi, chopsticks, and container for soy sauce. When you order Sushi or sashimi you get to pick between salad that comes with ginger dressing or miso soup. I got miso soup that was hot but not too hot to eat...just right. They don't have coffee but they do have hot tea. Jasmine or Green tea. I got green tea and it's really green tea. So, good and fresh. The waitress was very friendly, helpful and sweet to help to pick out what to eat for lunch. Especially, because it was my friends first time. They do play music in the background. Not too loud or too quiet. Just right and all around good songs that anyone would like. This is my favorite places for sushi or sashimi!!! You definitely should try this place!!!

Dumpling Soup

Service was slow. We were planning on ordering an appetizer and an entree. We put our appetizer order in and our server did not come back for way too long. We ended up choosing to skip our entree. We ordered soup dumplings, a pork bun, & a veggie bun. The dumplings were worth the wait but the buns were insanely tough and dry.

Steamed Vegetable Bun

I want to just start off saying this place makes the most AMAZING soup dumplings I've had in the triad area. They were perfectly savory and not too runny with a delicious filling that had a perfect texture. The veggie and pork steamed buns were unfortunately a bit tough and the filling left a bit to be desired unfortunately. The waiter was pleasant. The restaurant is small but there's enough room for it not to feel too crowded when there's a lot of people there. I will definitely be back just for the soup dumplings alone but would like to try more from their menu as well!

The ambiance has a few items as an ode to asian culture. There is a vast array of options, and everything I ordered has been delicious. The service is impeccable. Twice I had Sunny as my server. He provided recommendations and detailed descriptions of the items I had questions about. This is a hidden gem but a must try.

I hadn't been here in a couple years due to the service being consistently bad & loosing patience. I thought I'd give it another try after craving sushi recently. The lunch special is all I've ever eaten here as it's a good deal even over the years and price increase. For three roles and a soup or salad it's $15. The service wasn't terrible, just know to never go here in a hurry. For the quality of the sushi and price it's worth it. I'm glad I gave it another try after a few years hiatus.

Pieces of orange chicken that were spat out for undercooked gristle.

Used to like this place and come often in the past. Came tonight and there's a shellfish allergy at the table so I asked to substitute a crabmeat roll for a cheaper one already offered in the combo (spicy tuna, spicy crab, and spicy salmon come in the combo so I asked for another spicy tuna instead of crabmeat roll) and was told they'd charge me $2 extra. For a shellfish allergy. What? Lol.. then they came back 5mins saying fried rice is $3 extra when it was ordered with a meal for my fiancé. The other dish was orange chicken and chicken was so grisly and undercooked my fiancé literally spat it out. Tried another piece and had to spit it out as well. When bringing up this issue to server instead no care in the world so I asked for check, paid, left. Still won't ever be back. Nickel and dime you and not allergy friendly. Lost a customer because I'll never be back. Stay away from this place if you actually want decent customer service.

Food Poisoning Got veggie sushi and it was dry and flavorless. Woke up at 4AM with terrible stomach pain and was hugging the toilet like a sweating mongoose. I'm still in bad shape today, stomach is cramped and sour. I wish I never ate it.

6. General Tso's Chicken Fusion Box
Kylonda G.

I ordered my food through GrubHub. It was excellent! It's hard to find general tso that's isn't just fried batter and air. It was actually fresh meat, sweet with well enough spice!!!! The rice was fluffy and soft and that's amazing for brown rice and my California Roll was soo good! Ignore my wasabi and soy sauce on top. Great quality for take out and even better dinning in.

I come every couple months due to the delicious sushi (lunch special $11.99 for 3 rolls and a soup or salad) and the service continues to be bad. Today there is one waitress waiting on a full restaurant. There's usually only 1-2. My drink has been empty and no one has come to check on us. This has been typical for a while :( this will be our last. Poor service has been too ongoing to keep coming.

We were welcomed in by staff, who was very friendly. They offer a massive selection of ice cream flavors, which makes it tough to pick. They offer something for everyone including dairy free options (including vegan options), as well as classic flavors, fruity flavors, and their own concoctions! In addition, they offer unlimited toppings to be added at NO EXTRA CHARGE!!!!! Still stuffed from dinner, I got a "single" cup, which they actually allow you to put up to (2) favors in. I decided to to go with (2) of their original creations, getting the Peanut Butter Cookies & Cream, and the Salty Caramel Brownie, to top it off, i got a chocolate drizzle, sprinkles and whipped cream. WOW! Don't let the size of the cup fool you, they pack it, full, and have overflowing. They don't skimp. The ice cream was absolutely delicious, so rich and full of flavor. The space is very relaxed with plenty of seating, as well as games for people to enjoy while visiting. Another nice touch, the cashier gave us a bottle of water on the house. In addition to cups and cones, they also offer milkshakes, ice cream tacos made to your liking, and so much more. Hands down, this has got to be the best spot in the Triad to get a nice sweet treat! As the days are warming up, I'm looking forward to going back!

I only went to Cheesecakes by Alex because it was the meeting place selected by someone I was meeting with. I thought I would grab a tea, have the meeting, and then leave. However, nothing went as planned. Lol First, I am a "sucker" for eclectic vibes, which is the ambiance that the Elm St. location gives. The inside has a large mural on the wall, it has rustic flooring and furniture, and it is nothing like what I had pictured. I thought I would encounter a more "refined" place where everyone had their pinky in the air because of how everyone raved about Alex and his freaking cheesecake. Gracious! I completely understand now. I mean, I get it. Lol So after the meeting, this roughly drawn menu reeled me in because it had CHAI TEA. That's my jam. Once I had a sip of my delicious hot Chai tea with almond milk, I KNEW everything else was probably tasty, so I (in a reserved way) ordered an apple muffin. The muffin smelled divine, so I inquired (because I HAD to lol) about the best-selling cheesecakes. The cashier smiled at me and directed me to the Bourbon Pecan and the White Chocolate Raspberry flavored cheesecakes. They were $6 per slice, and I couldn't decide, so I had her pack both. I had a long day planned, so I had to take the slices home and refrigerate them. I almost forgot about them until around 10:30 when I had a sweet craving, and...have mercy! BOTH cheesecakes were velvety smooth, flavorful, and decadent. The Bourbon Pecan was heavenly. I could definitely taste its unique flavor pairings, and it had enough pecans. I also loved the buttery crust. The White Chocolate Raspberry was rich and creamy, with the tang of the raspberry exactly where and when you need it in every bite. I had to take bites out of each, you know, to treat them fairly. Lol Although I paid dearly for eating too much dairy, it was worth the experience. Sometimes, you just have to eat the lactose pill and jump in! I'm so glad I did. Now you know that Cheesecakes by Alex is Kiesha Speech approved. Hands down, they are bringing more than flavor. Cheesecakes by Alex is bringing the "flava!" I hear there are several locations in NC. I hope you can try one near you.
