My brother recommended this place for crab, so we decided to make the drive here to give it a try. The dinner is $22.99 and in my opinion, it's very much so worth it for the crab alone. The other items were a bit mid, especially their sushi selection, but I knew I wasn't there for that anyway. It's not a vibey spot by any means. It feels very much so cafeteria like and a bit sterile, but I guess at that price point, you shouldn't be expecting anything crazy. It also looks like they have a private room for those that are looking to host a party for something. Service wasn't bad either.

Been to Ichiban Buffet a few times now and whewwww... DO NOT come here on a holiday weekend unless you enjoy survival games and fighting strangers for crab legs!!! The place turns into absolute chaos on holiday weekends!! The entrance line? Long!!! Food line? Even longer!!!! There are a billion people in line waiting!! Grill guy looked like he was one inconvenience away from quitting on the spot!! Even the customers start acting like it's Black Friday at Walmart!!! Pro tip nobody tells you: CHECK IN AT THE FRONT AND GRAB A NUMBER!!! Apparently that's how the line works, but the crowd standing around inside gatekeeps that information like it's classified government intel!! Parking tip: stop battling for the front spots like it's the last helicopter out of an action movie. Park on the SIDE of the restaurant. Tons of parking and honestly probably less walking anyway. Now the important part... THE FOOD. I originally came because Yelpers baited me with photos of giant beef ribs. The restaurant used to have em but no longer serves it. Emotional damage!! The betrayal!!! Both times? Only pork ribs!!! BUT they did have NY steak at the Mongolian grill, plus beef pot roast and beef broccoli. The chicken wings though?? Absolutely dangerous!! Crispy little blessings from heaven. Most of the chicken and veggie dishes were honestly really good too!! Seafood lovers are gonna lose their minds here because they have SO MUCH seafood!! Huge crab halves, crayfish, salmon, shrimp, mussels, fried fish... basically the ocean filed for unemployment and showed up at this buffet!!! Hubby loved the mussels!! Also shocking discovery: they had a giant pile of sliced dragonfruit sitting out at the fruit section like we're all billionaires now. Dragonfruit is crazy expensive!! Overall, the food tastes super fresh compared to a lot of other buffets, and for around $23 a person, this place is honestly a steal!!! I'm still mourning the missing beef ribs, but the variety and quality definitely made up for it. Great spot when you're bringing the whole squad..... just maybe avoid holiday weekends unless you thrive in buffet warfare!!

This was my first plate. Had the sushi as my second plate. Some fruit and ice cream for dessert.

Came here for late lunch (which is available until 3:30 PM). Parking is super easy since the plaza has a large lot. Prices are reasonable and they have a great variety of food offerings. The fruit was a big hit! The sushi was decent (have had better elsewhere but for the price, it is more than satisfactory). Liked that we see staff preparing the sushi and that they try to put more fresh food out as diners come. Would have liked that each item was clearly identified. NGL, some food items were definitely better than others. The noodles had an off taste and some of the meat items were a bit tough or rubbery. A few items seemed the same and had a mushroom taste to them (not exactly appetizing if you don't particularly care for the taste). However, for the price, this buffet offers a bang for your buck! Liked that fellow diners seem to enjoy their meal. BIG PLUS! Overall, we had a pleasant dining experience. This was a nice buffet. Recommended as the variety was really good and most items were quite decent for the budget-friendly buffet which is a fabulous addition in this area. Forgot to take more pics of the food. Maybe, I'll remember the next time.

05/07/2026 Came here for a pre Mothers Day dinner. I really hate crowds and traffic. My mom said the buffet is excellent she really enjoyed the food. My wife loves this buffet too. They love the seafood hahaha I'm not much of a seafood guy I like meat. If you're a meat eater then don't come here you'll be sadly disappointed!!! Well since my mom and wife loved it it's going to get 5 Stars.

Best bang for your buck! Came for dinner service at 3:30 PM and food came out fresh from the kitchen. 3 different kinds of crabs for the price of $22.99, how can you beat that?! Loved their seafood selection and green tea ice cream .

I had a very delightful experience at Ichiban Buffet (Covina). It's POPULAR and extremely AFFORDABLE! Woah! I had the Saturday Dinner Buffet ($22.99). Surprisingly, the food is cooked/prepared very well for a buffet. I hope those exemplary chefs don't leave anytime soon. (Quick Note: All Seniors 65+ get $1 off. And Kids 3 to 6 are $9.99 for dinner. Also, Saturday & Sunday is All-Day Dinner unlike the weekdays.) I arrived at Ichiban Buffet (Covina) on Saturday (around 11:55AM). I was seated immediately; however, I noticed that the location got very crowded near 1:40PM. Parking is extremely easy; the lot is HUGE. If you're a Covina resident, you'll notice that this buffet is located where the old Hometown Buffet (near the AMC) used to be. Staff is very friendly by the counter. However, Staff becomes very busy and businesslike when doing their responsibilities. Currently, the location felt very efficient and machinelike. Food is regularly refilled. If I were to nitpick, although the plates are fairly clean, it feels like one or two sticky plates scrape through. Fortunately, this buffet does feel relatively clean and comfortable. As mentioned, I had the Saturday Dinner Buffet ($22.99). There's a surprisingly large variety of tasty options! There's sashimi, sushi rolls, crab legs, beef ribs, fish, shrimp, mussels, sho mai, soup, salad, and more. The ice cream station looks a bit rundown, but I can't complain. The food tasted fairly fresh and flavorful for a buffet. It's TASTY and crazy affordable. On ambiance, Ichiban Buffet (Covina) is clean, spacious, and busy. There's so many customers!! There's many, many tables. It's also family friendly with the high-chairs for young kids. Overall, I found unexpected joy at Ichiban Buffet (Covina). This is the most popular buffet destination in Covina!! If searching for very affordable food and well-prepared, flavorful dishes, this is a wonderful choice!! I happily recommend. 4.8 out of 5!

My family and I visited this restaurant for the third time and brought friends with us. I am so glad that this restaurant appears to be going to survive, as word of mouth has definitely spread about the value and great food it offers. The restaurant was CROWDED!! Despite the numerous tables in the huge redo, it was no challenge to find a large enough table for our party of nine. During our first two visits, we observed only a handful of customers at the restaurant. Naturally, we were concerned that this restaurant would not survive without support. I am so Glad we were wrong. This restaurant offers such GREAT, fresh, and tasty food. The variety of sushi available is impressive. Each piece of sushi is well-made and tasty, unlike other buffet restaurants. There are so many types of fish, shrimp, crab legs, and other seafood, which is truly impressive. Chicken options are also numerous, including fried, BBQ, and black pepper. There are beef options and many other delicious food options, including but not limited to fruits, veggies, ice Cream and desserts. The employees are all hard workers, clearing tables every 10 to 15 seconds, and the price is UNBELIEVABLE! My party of nine ate like kings and queens. The total cost for our group was $254.00, including tax and a $40.00 tip--an incredible value for a great, fun, and positive dining experience. We are HUGE fans of this restaurant, and we will Continue to visit as often as possible.

Finally checked this place out. It was really good and $16.99. I would most likely go back there. Very flavorful and multiple varieties to choose from.

Ichiban Buffet is a new Asian buffet to the city of Covina. This used to be the old Home Town Buffet when i was younger. This location has easy parking since the lots is huge. The location for this buffet is also enormous. They have so many table and booths and even a separate area that could probably be for private parties. The staff greeted and seated us the moment we walk in. We came in on a weekday right before 5PM. They were already starting their dinner by this time. The restaurant was not crowded at all. In terms of selection, they offer many traditional items you would fine at any Asian Buffet. They offer a teppanyaki station, sushi bar, fried food, Chinese food options, some dim sum and soups. They do have crab, crawfish, seafood boil, and cold crab legs too. The value of the buffet per person is definitely worth it. As the time went on the restaurant started to get packed. Overall, I think Ichiban is a great addition and great option for family looking for solid buffet. I'd come back again with my family for sure. ( ^_^)b

Buffet was okay here. It opened recently and it's near me so I have it a try. The selection is pretty typical to a Chinese buffet. The sushi was okay, nothing much to rave about. I wish the dessert selection was more but the price wasn't too bad.

My family saw this place just opened and we decided to come for a Sunday lunch. The price is the same all day for weekends. They had an adorable Shin Chan statue in the front with a beautiful waterfall display. The table we sat at was near the back next to the Mongolian grill. I definitely enjoyed their crab and short ribs, very good and I had several helpings. I do like they had a lot of fried food options for the kids and their dessert and fruit section was larger than other buffets I tried. I didn't eat any sushi because I dipped up on their seafood, fried foods, baked mussels, and steamed options. Unfortunately, some foods were too tough to eat such as roast beef, teriyaki chicken, chicken skewers, and some of the beef dishes. I had to stop eating them as I couldn't chew them. The servers were not around much, I think there was only a few and as it got busy, they made only a few trips to our table. We didn't need much attention, but I can tell when it's busy they are running everywhere. The ice cream options were nice, hand scooped and 8 flavors! I think this was a nice buffet, since it was new, I learned to not keep expectations high.

I felt like it was your average chinese all-you-can-eat buffet; nothing was amazing or stood out. A couple of the trays were empty; they didn't really keep up with keeps everything stocked. Including the ice cream; one if the flavor was all out. There were some items that I normally don't see at other buffets, so that was cool. The waitress tried to carry too much while cleaning our table and dropped the plates, and some of the food got on my cousin's back. She didn't apologize, and left some of the foos garbage, including a crab leg on the floor behind our chairs.

I like all the different fish choices they had like the pink salmon the crab in the little shells was so delicious, different sushi options was really good I was too full to travel Mongolian BBQ but would like to go back and try it. They had a big fried fish but it was all gone and they never replaced it so it was kind of bummed about that All the appetizers were so good with the dipping sauces. Would definitely be returning I went during the week but I hear on the weekends and nice they do see food like crab legs

Room for a banquet 50 guest with sound system and overheads?

They can host 50 guests or more in one side of the dining room, they have 2 sides, one in the front by the entrance and the other one is attached on the side. I don't know about sound systems and overheads.

Do they have a senior discount?

Yes, $1 off. That's what they gave my mom who is 84. We had 3 people.

Would like to see what kind of food included in the lunch buffet. Any crab legs?

Unfortunately, no crab legs during the lunch buffet, that I saw. I'm sure the crab is served at dinner. However, they do have a good selection of fish items.

Is there crab legs during lunch?

We came around 5pm, so we were quickly seated with only a handful of tables occupied. We ordered our drinks and made our way around the location to figure out what they had. They had ice cream and boba tea in the back corner, then came the dim sum options, hot foods, items for the grill, sushi, desserts with a chocolate fountain, and a mixture of cold items, such as fruits, seafood, and more desserts. Right away I got a plate of snow crabs and noticed the seafood boil the had shrimp and corn, so I got one of that as well the clams and some pieces of sushi. The crab legs were easy to open though I did have my husband request for crab cracker to help me with the harder pieces. I definitely preferred dipping the crab meat into the seafood boil sauce than the melted butter they had. The clams were pretty good as well, so I made sure to get a second round of them with the snow crabs. I did dabble in trying other foods, but preferred my seafood combo that I got. Once I had my fill with savory, I tackled the sweets and buffets are always fun to try new desserts but overall my fave was just good ol' pistachio almond ice cream with my milk tea. The Hits: - Fire-grilled BBQ station (steak, galbi (short ribs), pork belly, and squid) - Variety of sushi and rolls (average quality for the nigiri) - Dim sum options (popular items that get refilled regularly) - Desserts and fruits - 16 flavors of ice cream - Coffee and boba station The Misses (that I tried) - the orange chicken (flavor was off and bland) - fried chicken wings (looked good and crispy, but they were bland and had no seasoning) Service and staff were great. From taking drinks orders to clearing used plates, they were fairly attentive to everyone in the party. The food was refilled at decent times as well. There were plenty of seniors dining here since there's a special price for seniors. Reservations are recommended for large parties or peak dining times (dinner and weekends). This was our first time here, and it was a pleasant experience overall. It's a decent Asian buffet if you're in the area. A solid 3.5/5 rating.

On a Sunday afternoon, there was a short wait for a party of two. They were certainly busy with all the outdoor tables full too. When we got seated, they gave us some of the best tortilla chips and salsa I've ever had. I would go back just to eat this again. The menu is very extensive, but ultimately I decided to share the Supremo molcajete $31. There was so much food that we couldn't finish all of it. It came with guacamole, rice, and beans on the side. They also brought out warm tortillas. The best part of the meal was the singer. He would choose songs from his phone and then just sing casually into the mic. He didn't even go around asking for tips, like they do in Mexico City! Street parking (free) Bathroom in the back Outdoor seating available Big groups are ok, but space is tight

This plate also includes refried beans, rice, "garnished salad," and warm tortillas. I left El Camichin (Covina) full and satisfied. (Important Note: Bring cash. There's an increased cost of 3.84% for card.) I arrived at El Camichin (Covina) on Sunday (around 1:40PM). There's street parking; however, there's also many nearby public parking lots. El Camichin (Covina) is located in Downtown Covina near a Taco Bell. El Camichin (Covina) is crowded and popular. The customer chattering echoes loudly; the strong Latin American music flies off the walls; and the bar machine's occasional grinding & clanking noises are blaring. El Camichin (Covina) felt cramped and chaotic. A basket of chips and salsa were quickly placed on my table. Soon, I received a cup of water. These complimentary chips tasted crusty, hard, and a little stale. Thankfully, the salsa tasted fresh, and it carried a lovely addictive heat. The cup of water also tasted fresh and clean. My server (name tag said Lalo) is prompt. Lalo spoke English and Spanish. I observed how Lalo glides from table to table to check-in with guests. "How you doin, brotha'?" he'd exclaim. I ordered the Al Mojo de Ajo / Camarones Shrimp Plate ($24). It arrived in 12 minutes and 22 seconds. Very fast. Concerning the food, there's genuine fresh and flavorful quality hidden amongst its ugly plating and presentation. At first glance, the Al Mojo de Ajo / Camarones Shrimp Plate appeared underwhelming and unappetizing. It looked clunky like something dumped from a cafeteria. However, as I slowly tasted parts of its dish, I found myself pleasantly surprised. Its jumbo shrimps came huge, plump, and dripping with butter. They felt fresh, soft, and juicy. Next, the refried beans came thick, fresh, and clean. Its melted cheese created a welcomed savory creaminess. The rice was warm and dry, but its texture and flavor were enhanced as melted butter drizzled over its grains. I especially enjoyed the corn tortilla. These tortillas felt fluffy and stretchy. Unfortunately, I disliked the "garnished salad." It tasted like warm, old lettuce that was scraped off a few random tacos. The ambiance at El Camichin (Covina) felt chaotic, almost like a festival. It's reminiscent of a noisy sports bar at times. El Camichin (Covina) has many flat screen TVs playing football, and many customers appeared absorbed into the game. Fortunately, El Camichin (Covina) felt relatively clean despite being so busy. The floors looked a little messy, but the tables were shiny and smooth. Thankfully, the interior also felt well-ventilated. I also appreciated the beautiful art murals on the walls. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at El Camichin (Covina). This location felt popular and chaotic, but there's genuine good ingredients and food hidden within. I left full and satisfied. 4.5 out of 5
