A REPAST dinner after the services !! Good food with dishes indeed remained hot at the buffet ... When I reach my table my food still warm to eat !!! Offering variety of Seafood, bbq, dim sum , sushi, pizza, ribs, duck, veggies, fruits, salad bar as well as Mongolian stir fry !!!

My brother recommended this place for crab, so we decided to make the drive here to give it a try. The dinner is $22.99 and in my opinion, it's very much so worth it for the crab alone. The other items were a bit mid, especially their sushi selection, but I knew I wasn't there for that anyway. It's not a vibey spot by any means. It feels very much so cafeteria like and a bit sterile, but I guess at that price point, you shouldn't be expecting anything crazy. It also looks like they have a private room for those that are looking to host a party for something. Service wasn't bad either.

Stopped by on Saturday, 06/20/26 to celebrate Fathers Day a day earlier. We stopped by on Mothers day and the wait time was insane, plus holiday price of $25.99 ($3 extra dollars). Weekend adult prices are still $22.99 per person which is such a great deal, considering the plethora of options you get to choose from. Seafood (shrimp, clams, mussels, sushi, fried crab, snow crab, etc), and this time they offered lychee, in addition to dragon fruit!

Been to Ichiban Buffet a few times now and whewwww... DO NOT come here on a holiday weekend unless you enjoy survival games and fighting strangers for crab legs!!! The place turns into absolute chaos on holiday weekends!! The entrance line? Long!!! Food line? Even longer!!!! There are a billion people in line waiting!! Grill guy looked like he was one inconvenience away from quitting on the spot!! Even the customers start acting like it's Black Friday at Walmart!!! Pro tip nobody tells you: CHECK IN AT THE FRONT AND GRAB A NUMBER!!! Apparently that's how the line works, but the crowd standing around inside gatekeeps that information like it's classified government intel!! Parking tip: stop battling for the front spots like it's the last helicopter out of an action movie. Park on the SIDE of the restaurant. Tons of parking and honestly probably less walking anyway. Now the important part... THE FOOD. I originally came because Yelpers baited me with photos of giant beef ribs. The restaurant used to have em but no longer serves it. Emotional damage!! The betrayal!!! Both times? Only pork ribs!!! BUT they did have NY steak at the Mongolian grill, plus beef pot roast and beef broccoli. The chicken wings though?? Absolutely dangerous!! Crispy little blessings from heaven. Most of the chicken and veggie dishes were honestly really good too!! Seafood lovers are gonna lose their minds here because they have SO MUCH seafood!! Huge crab halves, crayfish, salmon, shrimp, mussels, fried fish... basically the ocean filed for unemployment and showed up at this buffet!!! Hubby loved the mussels!! Also shocking discovery: they had a giant pile of sliced dragonfruit sitting out at the fruit section like we're all billionaires now. Dragonfruit is crazy expensive!! Overall, the food tastes super fresh compared to a lot of other buffets, and for around $23 a person, this place is honestly a steal!!! I'm still mourning the missing beef ribs, but the variety and quality definitely made up for it. Great spot when you're bringing the whole squad..... just maybe avoid holiday weekends unless you thrive in buffet warfare!!

Coming through this side of town, I figured I'd give Ichiban Buffet a shot. Dinner was only $23, so it sounded like a solid deal. It's tucked away near the end of a quiet strip mall with plenty of parking, and I got seated right away around 7 PM on a Friday. The only downside was the A/C...it was pretty warm and steamy where I was sitting. The food selection was better than I expected, with duck, fried fish in sauce, fresh eggplant, and lots of other choices. For the price, you really can't complain. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

05/07/2026 Came here for a pre Mothers Day dinner. I really hate crowds and traffic. My mom said the buffet is excellent she really enjoyed the food. My wife loves this buffet too. They love the seafood hahaha I'm not much of a seafood guy I like meat. If you're a meat eater then don't come here you'll be sadly disappointed!!! Well since my mom and wife loved it it's going to get 5 Stars.

I had a very delightful experience at Ichiban Buffet (Covina). It's POPULAR and extremely AFFORDABLE! Woah! I had the Saturday Dinner Buffet ($22.99). Surprisingly, the food is cooked/prepared very well for a buffet. I hope those exemplary chefs don't leave anytime soon. (Quick Note: All Seniors 65+ get $1 off. And Kids 3 to 6 are $9.99 for dinner. Also, Saturday & Sunday is All-Day Dinner unlike the weekdays.) I arrived at Ichiban Buffet (Covina) on Saturday (around 11:55AM). I was seated immediately; however, I noticed that the location got very crowded near 1:40PM. Parking is extremely easy; the lot is HUGE. If you're a Covina resident, you'll notice that this buffet is located where the old Hometown Buffet (near the AMC) used to be. Staff is very friendly by the counter. However, Staff becomes very busy and businesslike when doing their responsibilities. Currently, the location felt very efficient and machinelike. Food is regularly refilled. If I were to nitpick, although the plates are fairly clean, it feels like one or two sticky plates scrape through. Fortunately, this buffet does feel relatively clean and comfortable. As mentioned, I had the Saturday Dinner Buffet ($22.99). There's a surprisingly large variety of tasty options! There's sashimi, sushi rolls, crab legs, beef ribs, fish, shrimp, mussels, sho mai, soup, salad, and more. The ice cream station looks a bit rundown, but I can't complain. The food tasted fairly fresh and flavorful for a buffet. It's TASTY and crazy affordable. On ambiance, Ichiban Buffet (Covina) is clean, spacious, and busy. There's so many customers!! There's many, many tables. It's also family friendly with the high-chairs for young kids. Overall, I found unexpected joy at Ichiban Buffet (Covina). This is the most popular buffet destination in Covina!! If searching for very affordable food and well-prepared, flavorful dishes, this is a wonderful choice!! I happily recommend. 4.8 out of 5!

My family and I visited this restaurant for the third time and brought friends with us. I am so glad that this restaurant appears to be going to survive, as word of mouth has definitely spread about the value and great food it offers. The restaurant was CROWDED!! Despite the numerous tables in the huge redo, it was no challenge to find a large enough table for our party of nine. During our first two visits, we observed only a handful of customers at the restaurant. Naturally, we were concerned that this restaurant would not survive without support. I am so Glad we were wrong. This restaurant offers such GREAT, fresh, and tasty food. The variety of sushi available is impressive. Each piece of sushi is well-made and tasty, unlike other buffet restaurants. There are so many types of fish, shrimp, crab legs, and other seafood, which is truly impressive. Chicken options are also numerous, including fried, BBQ, and black pepper. There are beef options and many other delicious food options, including but not limited to fruits, veggies, ice Cream and desserts. The employees are all hard workers, clearing tables every 10 to 15 seconds, and the price is UNBELIEVABLE! My party of nine ate like kings and queens. The total cost for our group was $254.00, including tax and a $40.00 tip--an incredible value for a great, fun, and positive dining experience. We are HUGE fans of this restaurant, and we will Continue to visit as often as possible.

Ichiban Buffet is a new Asian buffet to the city of Covina. This used to be the old Home Town Buffet when i was younger. This location has easy parking since the lots is huge. The location for this buffet is also enormous. They have so many table and booths and even a separate area that could probably be for private parties. The staff greeted and seated us the moment we walk in. We came in on a weekday right before 5PM. They were already starting their dinner by this time. The restaurant was not crowded at all. In terms of selection, they offer many traditional items you would fine at any Asian Buffet. They offer a teppanyaki station, sushi bar, fried food, Chinese food options, some dim sum and soups. They do have crab, crawfish, seafood boil, and cold crab legs too. The value of the buffet per person is definitely worth it. As the time went on the restaurant started to get packed. Overall, I think Ichiban is a great addition and great option for family looking for solid buffet. I'd come back again with my family for sure. ( ^_^)b

My family saw this place just opened and we decided to come for a Sunday lunch. The price is the same all day for weekends. They had an adorable Shin Chan statue in the front with a beautiful waterfall display. The table we sat at was near the back next to the Mongolian grill. I definitely enjoyed their crab and short ribs, very good and I had several helpings. I do like they had a lot of fried food options for the kids and their dessert and fruit section was larger than other buffets I tried. I didn't eat any sushi because I dipped up on their seafood, fried foods, baked mussels, and steamed options. Unfortunately, some foods were too tough to eat such as roast beef, teriyaki chicken, chicken skewers, and some of the beef dishes. I had to stop eating them as I couldn't chew them. The servers were not around much, I think there was only a few and as it got busy, they made only a few trips to our table. We didn't need much attention, but I can tell when it's busy they are running everywhere. The ice cream options were nice, hand scooped and 8 flavors! I think this was a nice buffet, since it was new, I learned to not keep expectations high.

    How much is buffet?

    $17.99 Lunch $22.99 dinner for year 2026

Room for a banquet 50 guest with sound system and overheads?

They can host 50 guests or more in one side of the dining room, they have 2 sides, one in the front by the entrance and the other one is attached on the side. I don't know about sound systems and overheads.

Do they have a senior discount?

Yes, $1 off. That's what they gave my mom who is 84. We had 3 people.

Would like to see what kind of food included in the lunch buffet. Any crab legs?

Unfortunately, no crab legs during the lunch buffet, that I saw. I'm sure the crab is served at dinner. However, they do have a good selection of fish items.

Is there crab legs during lunch?

    no there arenot

The lighting is also mild in a good way as it's not too bright nor too dark. You have a great view of the open kitchen regardless of where you're seated. Parking - Plenty of parking in a huge lot. The variation of mango sweetness along with the cream cheese + Outer layer of Salmon is just perfect. My wife and I loved it so much that we're gonna make this at home at some point. 10/10 recommend to order this. The Rainbow Battera is a plate of pressed sushi, 6pc of pressed sushi rolls presented very neatly and is basically a mix of each fish in a roll. Each roll is different so take your pick of roll to eat. A unique take to sushi rolls but highly recommend. Fish contains Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail, Albacore, Ebi Shrimp, Shiso Leaf, and Bonito. The CHIRASHI consist of 12 delicious pcs of 6 kinds of sashimi, ikura, masago, shrimp, tamago & seaweed salad on top of sushi rice. It was very flavorful and definitely a shareable dish. I was impressed with the variation of sweet + salty flavors. Overall, a great conclusion to our evening dinner. I loved each sushi plate and their extensive menu. I arrived twenty-five minutes later and observed that the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. There were three groups of people sitting and dining at numerous tables. After confirming my name, the employee said it would be a few more minutes while my orange roll was being made--no problem, I stated. I noticed a white, plastic-sealed bag containing six to seven rolls in plastic containers, sitting on the counter, ready for pickup. I asked the employee if that was my order. She checked the name on the receipt and advised that it was not my order. Ok, no problem, I stated. I waited, and waited, and waited some more. Fifteen to twenty minutes went by, and still, no sushi. The employee confirmed my name and advised, "Oh yes, this is your order. I made a mistake". She handed me my order, and I was gone. Food was fantastic - the yellowtail tasted so fresh and the sushi rolls were "bomb diggity"!! Everyone enjoyed their meals and I wouldn't hesitate to return to try different items from their menu. There is literally something for everyone but the menu also isn't overwhelming. Parking was easy and plentiful on a Sunday afternoon. This was a 5-star meal for sure.

I almost didn't want to leave a review because the service was great but I do kind of have to share…read moremy experience because it was pretty unacceptable. Firstly, I do want to thank the staff here, they were incredibly courteous, polite, professional, kind and communicative with us. This kind of service is rare these days and while my experience was made a lot better because of their empathetic response, I still think the quality of food needs attention. To start, this spot is at a convenient location - right next to Regal theaters, plenty of parking nearby and none of that street parking metered crap. Definitely a plus. Prices are not cheap, rolls run you about $18 and the size was pretty small. We got a protein roll and a dragon roll as the menu indicates you buy one get one half off. Dragon roll was the skinniest, tiniest, most petite roll I've ever seen in my life and just felt like they cheaped out on it, which is kind of crazy since it's basically just a California roll... imitation crab is insanely cheap, it's not even real crab. Anyway... I ordered a Tonkotsu Ramen, plain - only egg & protein and when it was served to us, all I saw was a puddle of grease on top. For those who are unaware, Tonkotsu literally translates to pork bones, so while it is definitely a hearty/fatty broth, it shouldn't have a visibly separated layer of grease on top. You know when you reheat fettuccini alfredo and the oil separates in the microwave? It looked like that. I've tried various tonkotsu ramens - some better than others btw feel free to DM me for suggestions although the locations are not in close range - but none have had that visible grease layer. To be honest, I'm not really one to send things back, although I have picked up on the habit of not accepting crap food lately, so I didn't really mention anything to the waiter regarding the ramen. I slurped my noodles, ate my egg and chashu - both were OK. The chashu was seared and hard to eat, not the usual melt-in-your-mouth deal, and left the bland, greasy broth behind. Sucks because my favorite part of ramen is, of course, the broth. That's really the whole point. Moving on... I noticed my friend stopped eating her protein roll so I was like what's up? She looked at me a little worried and said she thought the salmon was off. I scrunched my face and was like dammit now I have to try this to make sure. Smell was not off, but took a bite of the salmon and that thing was bitter. We told the waiter and he was apologetic and said he'd talk to the kitchen. They said the fish came in yesterday and while I believe them, and could easily blame the heat we've been dealing with recently, we still felt unsafe finishing the food. I appreciate them showing concern for the issue with the food and no reports of food poisoning so far - been like two days now so I'm sure we're fine. Brings me to our total of about $50. Damn. I know sushi and ramen aren't typically cheap items but the quality was nowhere near standard and unfortunately this experience was enough to dissuade me from coming back. I don't want to nitpick, but I just like giving peeps details on certain things so their experience may not come as a surprise, but the general atmosphere of this spot was also a bit... different. They were playing loud music, I recall hearing 500 Miles by the Proclaimers super loud and I was kind of like dang man it feels like I'm right in the heart of Tokyo... /s There are much, much, much better spots for ramen and for sushi, there is literally an actual Japanese restaurant right across the street from Kopan and I'd bet money you'd get way better food for more or less the same price there. Also Burger Bun is in the same plaza, place is also fire, I'll drop that review separately. TL;DR: food bad, expensive, fish off, service good, decent parking, convenient location
