Been searching for a replacement for King buffet in Plymouth Meeting. Found this place with a Yelp search and thought we would give it a try. About an easy 30-minute drive from East Norriton. Upon arrival we did a quick scout around and we're impressed by the selection and the cleanliness. $15.99 for dinner with a 10% senior citizen discount is more than reasonable. Beverages were extra but we only got water. You pay first then a hostess seats you. I headed for the sushi first. There was a good variety. Quality was OK for an AYCE. Everything seemed pretty fresh. The wife headed straight for the steamed blue crabs. They were on the small side and all females which is fine by us as we prefer them for the roe. It's kind of an Asian thing. The tray was well stocked and we had no problem getting as many as we wanted. As their name implies there were many seafood selections in the hot table. Lots of shrimp dishes, mussels and clams, steamed and fried fish. Everything I tried was fresh and well seasoned. I ended up make 3 trips to the feeding trough. They also had a well stocked table with Western fare. Prime rib, fried chicken, bbq ribs, etc. Will try some of those on our next visit. Only disappointment was the chocolate fountain was unavailable due to Covid precautions. No complaints about service. Water was refilled promptly, dirty dishes were cleared efficiently. Went here on a Saturday morning about 11:30 glad we went that early. Everything was fresh a bit of a crowd but not bad at all. We sat down and ordered our drinks and went straight for the buffet. Well, I thought this place was pretty darn good and apparently everyone else thinks so too because it was PACKED. Totally packed with a line at the door the whole time we were there. I really don't know how the staff keeps up with the droves of people, but they do - everything was well stocked and quite good. They have pretty much everything, so I will just mention my faves: some kind of Asian steak that had a real nice flavor and char to it (so good!!!); cheesy spinach (rich and yummy - Popeye would approve!); pan fried pork dumplings (yes, please!); cheese topped asparagus (never saw those on a buffet before). This place is very nostalgic to the original old country buffet and I love it! I have never seen a buffet that had a waiting line out the door. If this place wasn't so far, I would probably lose a lot of money as get fat real quick. There are a lot of seatings however there were a lot more people. Since that place suffered a fire and is currently closed for repairs, we decided to go here since we wanted quick food and we wanted it now. I didn't know what to expect. Walking in it was fancier looking than Dynasty which was on the same street and felt inviting. They certainly had plentiful grub; they had their probably "regular" items but also this Turkey Day had turkey stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and also last but not least the most popular bird everyone knows about. The food was surprisingly not bad though more expensive than Dynasty Hibachi. The only food I ate I didn't like were the "chicken sticks" which were big pieces of meat on kebab spears; I don't know why but it did not taste like chicken and had a charcoal or strange after taste. The rest was pretty much standard fare at this kind of restaurant but some was better than other dishes. Yummy food! Plus stopping off to the rest-room I noticed it was spacy and not cramped-in like the men's room at Dynasty so there's that too! Good food. So I was in the area, hungry and figured I'd visit this spot that was grubby Old Country Buffet when I lived here back in 2005. For the food, the price is fair. It's above average, some things good, somethings pass. There were alot of carby dishes I did not try, but as to what I did - I recommend the sushi - pretty and fresh. A bit heavy on the rice but still, enjoyable. The finger foods like the sweet wings and the crab cheese ragoons - very tasty. The korean beef, flavorful but rubber tough. The dislikes were the bulk meats ( carving meat) and chicken pieces - inedible dry. But the spareribs on the bone were good - hit or miss. While I wouldn't go out of my way to re visit, if you are in the area, not a bad choice. Service was good, and place is clean given the mass numbers. read more

This seafood buffet is disappointing even though the reviews on Yelp were above average. We went on a Sunday night at around 6:30 pm, it had a long line at the door. We waited for about 15 minutes to pay and waited for another 5 minutes before we were brought to a booth. The waitress must used wet towels to clean the table and the seats (not sure if it was the same towel) as the seats were wet at the time we were seated. The food options were fair, but what stood out was that it offered lots of seafoods, such as mini lobsters, crabs, shrimps, fish, etc. The crabs and mini lobsters were very popular and they were gone within minutes as soon as the staff brought them out, but they got refilled relatively quickly. The food were served hot and fresh and the refills were done very quickly and sometimes before the dishes even went out. I liked the way how they refilled the food so that I did not have to wait for long to get what I wanted. The hibachi section had a long line and the chef could only take care of 2-3 customers at a time, so I decided to give up on the hibachi as the line was just too long. The overall food quality was fair, but they offered very limited services. We had a group of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids) and we got a 4 people booth, so our table was already filled by water / soda cups and with limited space left for our plates. The waitress did not came to pick up the used plates even they saw we piled the plates up. Throughout the 1 hour 45 minutes we were there, they only stopped by to pick up the used plates twice. Water / soda cups were not refilled at all even they were almost empty. The restaurant was big and there were only a few waitresses, so we did not see any waitresses nearby or they were busy cleaning / serving other customers for the most time. Lastly, the buffet price kept changing. From other yelpers' posts, I saw different price for Sunday buffet, I think I saw $12.99 and $13.99, but the price I paid was $14.49 last night (Sunday). This is actually probably the best Chinese buffet in the area. I've been here on multiple occasions and I've learned to only come on weekend evenings. The times I've come on a non-weekend, the food was lukewarm and looked untouched for hours because the number of customers are quite low. The low customer rate on weekdays lead to low turnover rates of the food, which is why a lot of times I felt like the food was not fresh. Come at the right time and there will be a line out the door, and when you do get seated, you can feast on endless fresh (relatively..) seafood. The food turnover rate is quick, and everything is piping hot. They do the typical fare better than most if not all surrounding Asian buffets, and the variety is great. You really have to know what to eat at these places.. like why the heck would you go get mac and cheese.. it's a freaking Chinese restaurant, go get that crap from Boston Market. read more

I was impressed by the cleanliness here. The restaurant itself was spotless and the men's restroom was immaculate. Sorry ladies but I didn't check the women's bathroom. I wasn't in the mood for all the yelling and screaming that was likely to ensue! The wait staff was fine. My soda was refilled and my plates were whisked away with no problems. I even received a nice smile and a thank you as I prepared to leave. So what about the food? You need to know that I don't eat sushi. I'd rather have a root canal with no pain meds that eat raw fish! I'll leave the sushi review to someone else. The Chinese food here is solid. Every selection was full and kept that way while I was there. All the temperatures were proper. Won-ton soup was great. Update: 8/13 I've been coming here a few times to settle my cravings and I have to say while this place isn't like the best restaurant ever, keep in mind this is a buffet. Came here for the first time this past Friday since my parents were looking for a seafood restaurant that is open for sit down services. We were so happy with the variety of food, the amazing attentive waitresses, and most especially the sushi bar and stir fry area. Their modified COVID services are excellent, with requiring the use of gloves at the buffet section, providing table-side hand sanitizer, and spaced out open tables. Everything was either over or under cooked, the prime rib steak was literally raw, the shrimps were old and the oysters were definitely covered in bacteria. Also while dining eating the muscles my tooth experienced a shattering blow, literally, due to a metal fragment in my meal. Nothing but 5 stars for me a long time Pre Covid. Tons of different foods, service was great. My very favorite place to eat by myself or with friends. Going there was a ritual, Then came Covid and I didn't even think of going out anywhere. Lunch was particularly inexpensive with senior citizens discount.
