Had a great time at this sushi restaurant which might be the best sushi I've been to in the area so far. Food: I ordered the Fantasy Roll which was the perfect blend of fresh fish and fruit. Their smoked salmon nigiri was very good and I had a spicy salmon handroll with an unexpected crunch added. Service: the waitress was okay, helpful but pretty clearly annoyed by something. Aesthetic: standard sushi/bistro fare with a visible sushi area and plentiful seating.

We sat at the sushi bar. Service was excellent. Loved watching the chefs prepare the rolls and plates of sushi . We ordered the scallion pancake for an appetizer. Freshly made with nice flavor. Our sashimi platter and crystal roll were made right in front of us and they were delicious. Everything was very fresh and nicely done. Lots of fresh ginger and wasabi. We'll definitely be back!

    First time here!

My wife and I were looking for something different for dinner this past Friday and thanks to a friend's Yelp review, we decided to check out Blossom. This is a small restaurant in a strip mall on Howard Blvd in Mt. Arlington. We came without a reservation, but luckily we were seated without a wait. The food here was very good! We started with Thai iced teas and a Philadelphia roll as an appetizer. For entrees, my wife had the Double Treat, which was sesame chicken and honey walnut shrimp. I had the Pineapple Passion which was chicken, shrimp, and scallops in a white sauce. Both dishes were excellent! The entrees came with a choice of salad or soup. I went with the Hot & Sour soup which was a bit too spicy for me. Service was very friendly. Prices average. I had Blossom bookmarked for a while, so I'm really glad we had the chance to come here!

The food here is always SO fresh and some of the best sushi in the area. Loved the waitstaff, and the food came out quick when we were there at 8. Totally recommend anything on the menu!

Did a review years ago but went back today to check again. Are they still good? The easy answer is yes. We got a ton to try again and everything was great. The special sushi appetizer was great, spicy Kani salad, firecracker shrimp, dynamite roll, shrimp tempura roll, and the Mt Arlington roll. The special rolls were smaller than we remember but so good!

My family has been coming to Blossom for years and it always delivers! The menu has options for everybody, ranging from some great apps to sushi to Thai dishes. Some of my favorites are the cashew chicken and the wasabi tuna dumplings. Not the fanciest restaurant around, but quality is consistent, staff is pleasant, and prices are decent.

Love this place! Nice warm interior with inviting booths. BYO. Menu is a mix of Japanese & Thai. The menu doesn't have a huge selection of specialty rolls which is fine for me as it gets overwhelming at times! We enjoyed the Gyoza and Satay to start - both really good & I love how they pounded the chicken real thin for the Satay! For entree's my husband enjoyed the sashimi dinner & a side of fried rice. I got my usual - the Mt Arlington roll & a spicy salmon roll. We enjoyed our food very much. This was my 3rd time here & I will continue to come back! Note - 20% off for medical workers!

My first time embarking at Blossom. I must say. The food was elegant, fresh, and delicious! I ordered eight different dishes. And loved each of them equally! Thank you for great quality food. I only took 1 photo.

Chicken teriyaki bento box, $8 on Mondays!!!

Came here for lunch with some coworkers. You definitely should focus on the lunch specials! That's where you'll get the most for your money. I ordered the teriyaki chicken bento box that came with soup or salad. I was surprised by the decent sized soup bowl. Bigger than what similar restaurants offer in the area. My bento box was decent, a good variety as what is expected in bento boxes. I had saved some of my teriyaki chicken for lunch the next day and something interesting happened. My chicken tasted like curry the next day. It didn't taste at all like curry the day I ordered it but on the second day, it definitely tasted like curry. Even my coworker who ordered the same thing as I, confirmed tasting curry. Very odd. But anyway, back to my experience at Blossom that day: I'm always very appreciative of the wait staff when I'm part of a big table. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant. And there's a $5 minimum for credit cards, but that shouldn't be a problem, fellow Yelpers

Had dinner here with the family on a recent Monday night. Good meal! We started with miso soup, chicken wonton soup and yummy dumplings. Soups were robust and flavorful with generous portions. The yummy dumplings are a chicken, shrimp and vegetable mixture in steamed dumplings, garnished with an excellent peanut/sesame sauce. These were yummy, indeed. For entrees we ordered avocado rolls, duck breast, General Tso's shrimp and chicken, and champagne mango grilled salad. The rolls were freshly prepared with crisp vegetables,an excellent rendition of this favorite. The duck breast was great as well. Nice crisp skin, with moist firm meat and very little fat, sliced into manageable pieces. A hoison sauce and a garlic sauce are served on the side for dipping. The accompanying scallion pancakes were disappointing - on the greasy side and bland. The chicken and shrimp was beautifully plated, complete with an orchid garnish. The chicken was excellent - plump pieces of white meat dressed in sweet and spicy General Tso's sauce. The shrimp were thickly breaded, tails on, and fried lightly. These were dressed in a sweet mango sauce. The breading was a little too thick for my taste, and would have been easier to navigate without the tails. Still this is very tasty and a big portion. Lastly, the champagne mango grilled salad. This is served with strips of grilled jicama (in the turnip family) over a bed of greens with strips of mango, dressed with a sweet, mango dressing. The jicama is chicken-like and very tasty. The mango adds a nice sweet & tropical taste. This was a good one. The storefront restaurant has about 10 tables and a dozen chairs at the sushi bar. The interior is upscale and modern, done in dark wood. Service is friendly and quick and the food arrives promptly. Overall a good meal at a local Asian cuisine spot.

Breath taking, truly breath taking experience I just had at blossom asian bistro! By the time I could turn around after sitting down & ordering a drink -- the sushi chef turned & handed me an incredibly delicious squid appetizer with fresh ginger, seasoning & cucumber. Not only did this get me in the mood for more fresh sushi -- but was truly something delightful in my most humble of opinions. He went as far as checking in every so often to ensure each dish (attached below) were to my liking -- which they absolutely were! Now if we can quickly pause, I have at least a hundred sushi pictures on yelp -- I've been to even more unique restaurants & I believe to date, the best "special roll" I've ever had is without a doubt the ''mango tango roll' which is spicy king crab and avocado inside topped with fresh salmon, mango and caviar in chef's special sauce!! I had their standard American sushi which is tuna, salmon & yellowtail -- literally out of the hands of the sushi chef straight on my plate & ready to enjoy. It's truly the best experience & the taste/flavor profile drastically change as time passes by after it's been prepared vs when it is consumed. I also am a huge fan of kani salad, so if you're in the area & stopping in for some sushi -- definitely consider getting a side of kani salad -- prepared to perfection. The entire sushi bar area as well as rest of the restaurant were very clean, had a fun ambiance & great mood lighting. Thanks again so very much to the entire blossom team -- we cannot wait to come back for some fresh sushi!

Sushi is great but they also have a really good selection of other Asian foods. Their fried rice is excellent. Highly recommend this place.

This used to be one of my favorite all you can eat sushi spots, and I honestly recommended it to a lot of people. I hadn't been back in about a year, but since it's always packed, I assumed the quality was still the same. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The biggest issue was the freshness. The sushi tasted like it had been prepared hours earlier instead of being made fresh to order. The fish lacked that fresh, clean flavor I remembered, and the texture just wasn't right. The sashimi slices were surprisingly tiny compared to what they used to serve, and both the eel and the albacore tuna tasted old, which was really disappointing. On top of that, the portions were noticeably smaller across several dishes. I don't mind smaller portions at an all you can eat restaurant if the quality is there, but this time neither the quality nor the freshness met the standard I remembered. I'm not sure if management or the kitchen has changed, but the experience was completely different from what it used to be. I truly hope this was just an off day because this restaurant was once one of my favorites. Sadly, based on this visit, I can't say I'd rush back.
