My experience was awful. First dentist in SA- first the hygienist didn't even talk to me at all. Then the dentist came and did not even ask me my name or concerns just went to work on the cleaning and other things. This cleaning was so painful- I have never had a single cavity ever in my life or any other teeth issues. She was just straight up rude and practically yelled at me that I needed to use an electric toothbrush. Then got my treatment plan - diagnosed me with gingivitis and two cavities. Dentist didn't explain anything to me on the plan just gave me the bill and left. It was all these different items including the cavities for over 1200 bucks. I left this place crying. I went to another dentist next day and what would u know...no cavities, no gingivitis. They also straight up said they've heard awful things from ideal dental before. Oh and also ideal dental scheduled me for another appointment in November without notifying me or asking me if it worked for me at the office. Had to call like 5 separate times just to cancel the appointment. Also issues w the insurance and my dad had to call a bunch of times for them to finally take the info and for them to leave us alone. This place literally just cares about money. Which is fine it's healthcare- but at least do good work and diagnose correctly and learn emphaty. read more

I had heard on the radio that with my insurance Ideal Dental did teeth whitening at no cost to the patient. They were able to see me just a few days after I first called them, and by the time I walked out of there I had whiter teeth and didn't have to pay a dime. Their staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I was offered water while I waited for the doctor and a blanket while I was letting the whitening treatment process. My encounter with the doctor was pleasant and he gave me the news that I didn't want to hear -- I need to have wisdom teeth removed :( I will be using their referral for an oral surgeon. Ideal Dental of Road Runner is great. The entire office staff is very nice and helpful. The dental hygienist was great and made me feel very comfortable. Dr Schuchart is such a nice guy and is very thorough. I had a really bad tooth, that I thought could never be pulled and Dr Schuchart extracted it and he made the procedure painless. So, I came back and learned I needed two root canals and two crowns and had both done in the same day. I used to hate going to the dentist, so I have reaped the problems from not going to the dentist for years. However, I love this dentist and the office and I know they are going to help me restore things I've neglected for so long. 5 stars easily read more

About two years ago I started Invisalign with this ideal dental they convince you to leave a good review before you start treatment I had about 4 trays left when I was relocated for work they refused to give me my trays because they did not want to transfer it to another dental office in Florida but expected me to make flights back to San Antonio from Florida just to pick up trays I was on a payment plan and I advised that I would keep making payments if they gave me all the trays but they did not want to forcing me to leave with the job half done this was almost two years ago I still have the glue stuck on my teeth from the trays and now they try to send a collection agency to collect money from a job they did not want to complete do not go here they are cheaper then other places for a reason they act friendly but they just want your money and the first visit super nice and stand there and pressure you to leave a good review while they watch read more

I don't trust this place at all! From the moment I walked in something just seemed a little off. Everyone was overly nice in a way . Almost like they don't see too many people there. I had called when they were closed over the weekend and someone called me back (I think from their house) and scheduled me an appointment for the next day as if they were completely open on the schedule). I went in for a free Invisalign consultation only after having a regular dental exam and cleaning done by my regular dentist the previous week. They took my insurance to check if Invisalign was covered at all, which it wasn't and isn't normally. They proceeded to do a full exam and I reminded the staff that I had already had that done the previous week and I was only here for the Invisalign consultation. They said it was just standard with the consultation so I went with it. Well at the end of the visit, they made me feel like my mouth was a disaster and told me I had 5 cavities and even needed a crown! Another lady came in and sat down and reviewed all the insurance copays with me and for the cleaning. I reminded her once again I was only here for an Invisalign consultation and I would rather not have any dental work performed without consulting my regular dentist. As I'm walking out, she says that normally they would charge me a copay for the visit but she would waive it for me. Now I'm thinking something is up because the entire visit was supposed to be a free consultation in the first place. She also told me to leave a 5 star review, so here it is minus the stars. Fast forward two months later, and I get an EOB in the mail saying they've billed my insurance $208 for the visit! Seems like insurance fraud to me. RADIO LIES NO TEETH WHITENING. Ideal Dental is a large business that is in business to make money. I went for my normal 6 month cleaning and the free teeth whitening. That was the main reason I went there. I have my teeth cleaned every 6 months and have never been at a dentist more than an hour. 2 hours later I emerged from Ideal Dental with the realization I needed to contact my insurance company for possible false claims of work and the Better Business Bureau. The receptionist and billing lady are wonderful, the dentist is a scammer. After over an hour of getting enough photos taken of my teeth for a spread in Vogue I then had to listen to the dentist and his sales pitch for 30 minutes. He wanted to put a crown in on a tooth that might break at some point and refill several old fillings. Then finally they got to the cleaning. The girl polished my teeth but the polishing tool kept slipping. She told me I didn't have any tarter to hold it on my teeth. They were super clean. She flossed, whole time was maybe 10 minutes. Then the dentist came in and used his little tool, sticking it between 3 different spaces on my front bottom teeth, 1 minute tops. It was less of an overall cleaning than I'm used to but I was fine, I was just ready to get out of there. I get to the counter and it's almost a $100 charge. I asked the very sweet lady for what? There is a $196 charge for deep cleaning on my bill. Half my insurance pays and I pay the other half. For what exactly? Apparently him sticking that tool between 3 teeth costs over $65 per tooth. This was a lie. There was no deep cleaning done nor was this necessary. It was simply a way to get more money out of the customer and their insurance. The receptionist was able to adjust my portion down which was very nice but I still feel like me and my insurance are being ripped off for this. They show you a form with everything lumped in, this deep cleaning was down in the section with the crown, I didn't know it was something they were going to do that day nor was it necessary. Then after the cleaning I asked about the whitening and she asked if I had mentioned it on the phone. I said of course that's why I came. She told me it would make my teeth too sensitive and shouldn't be done until after any fillings needed. Well the girl in the post a few below said she had hers done, was happy and going back next week for fillings. What??? I thought it couldn't be done until after the fillings? I was told another dentist will be coming in, the guy now is a liar. The receptionist, billing lady and girl who cleaned my teeth were all wonderful but if you have a sketchy dentist you can't trust it stops there. read more
