Nice massage! I prefer a heavier hand for deep tissue but it was extremely relaxing overall.

I am still struggling with some residual pain from my cervical surgery last July. Woke up one morning recently and was paralyzed with pain in my lower back. Decided to turn to my amazing referral service -- the one and only "Yelp" and try to find a masseuse in the Wesley Chapel area. When I phoned to make an appointment the receptionist was very accommodating and worked me in that day for a deep tissue massage. When I walked into the facility -- it was very tranquil, calm and clean. I filled out the required paperwork and was taken back by a masseuse named Yoko. Wish I had booked for 90 minutes versus an hour. She was incredible. We discussed all the available treatments they offer from facials to waxing. Best of all -- they are open seven days a week (Monday through Friday 9 to 8, Saturday 9 to 7, and Sunday 11 to 5) to meet every clients busy schedule. Every Tuesday and Thursday all the treatments are 20% off and if you are a teacher, law enforcement, medical field, military/vet, pregnant, or a senior citizen they automatically give you 20% off -- of course proper credentials are required, but that is pretty spectacular. Conveniently located in the heart of Wesley Chapel behind Sam's Club. Cannot give them five stars because when I rescheduled my next appointment for two days later -- when I arrived --- was not on the schedule ( one can only surmise that because the young receptionist was on her cell phone -- she had rescheduled me for two weeks later not two days). The owner was extremely professional, helpful, and apologetic --- she going to work me in, but I could not wait 30 minutes. She was kind enough to offer me a free massage for the inconvenience -- (if you are reading this -- thank you very much). Perhaps I will try them again one day, but I will for sure call and reconfirm my appointment before arrival. Overall -- I would definitely give them a try -- the massage by Yoko was incredible. Great massages. I started going there when I had a gift card for a free 30 min. massage. Honestly, that 30-min massage was better than most 60-min massages I'd had elsewhere. I've been back several times and seen four different massage therapists. All of them were great and focused on exactly what I said I wanted. I have recommended them to many friends and know others who are loyal customers as well. They offer excellent deals and also a 20% every day discount for teachers, police, fire and rescue, military, etc. which is awesome. The front desk is always courteous and helpful too. I have been going to Ideal Massage in Wesley Chapel since 2009. At first I was getting a massage a decadent treat for myself, a bit of self-pampering. I came to understand through the education of the knowledgeable therapists that the self-pampering was really providing a hidden health benefit. My sciatica which would flair up could be helped by massage and is. While I was at the time going to chiropractor I no longer have the need of one a visit to Ideal Massage is all I need. Although there are many other massage places in the area, this one is locally owned and you do not have the staff turnover like the other chains. What i really like about this massage studio is they offer different types of massages and their staff are trained to do them. Speechless!!! That's how I felt after my massage yesterday. I couldn't even speak because I was so disappointed and tried to keep from crying out loud. I was in tears because the massage was so terrible. I used the Christmas money I received as a gift to get a much needed massage. I was truly looking forward to a relaxing and soothing experience. I requested and paid for a full body massage. The masseuse' hands were tough as leather and felt like sand paper on my body. I asked her on 3 occasions what she was doing because it felt like she was pinching me, prodding, and pulling my skin--not massaging it. There was nothing soft, smoothing, or relaxing about it. In all other full body massages I've had, I am asked to turn over and the therapist massages the other side of my body. I was not even given that. I stayed faced down the entire time. My arms were never massaged and nor was my neck, and nor were the front limbs of my body. While I mentioned that I had tension in my shoulder and feet when asked, I explicitly asked for and paid for a full body massage. This felt like a brand new therapist who had not been trained. While I paid for the services out of common decency, it clearly was not worth it. I immediately got in my car and called somewhere else to get a REAL full body massage with an experienced therapist. What a waste of Christmas money and time. SUCH A LET DOWN FOR SOMETHING I NEEDED SO BAD. SO DISAPPOINTING!!!!! read more
