Idlewhile was my coffee indulgence for the week! It's located on 12 th street near Lamar. It's a small place with limited seating in a shared space with a shoe store. Wade, the cashier and barista, told me that he recommended the Cappacino and Latte as the most popular menu items. They also sell pastries and tacos. The iced latte with lavender syrup was was robust and fragrant...nice combination.

Good coffee! Got a lavender latte, it was good. There's a few stools to sit on but it's located inside a shoe store so it's more of an add on area than a cafe. The service was fairly quick. Looked like there were a few metered parking spots outside. Great for grab & go!

We went there based on the Yelp photos... looked like a coffee speakeasy. Apparenlty, that's their previous location. This newer location is still located in the No Comply skate shop, but it's more of a coffee stand with a few tables. The coffee menu is simple - lattes, cold brew, espresso, etc... but they did have a few specialty drinks (like a strawberry matcha) and flavors (like lavender). I opted for an oat-milk latte; my friend got the cold brew with lavender. Unique, huh?! And he shopped around for shoes while we waited on our drinks. They do have wifi, so we squeezed in a few minutes of work. There's metered street parking; the nearby garage is for students, but not sure if it's also opeened to the public.

100% perfection! This coffee was amazing! We got 4 drinks and each person loved it, no complaints! I got a dirty chai latte with oatmilk - the chai was subtle, not too strong, sweet, and creamy! The actual location was so cool! The coffee shop is inside of a skate shop, and looked so lux. The location was clean, and spacious. There isn't much space to sit, there were a few spaces, but not much. The staff was great and welcoming! There is a parking garage behind the shop. I was a little confused, wasn't sure if i could park there. It says students and faculty parking, but the gates were open. We parked since we were only going to be there for a few minutes. I don't live in Austin, but when i come back, I will for sure make a trip here! Perfect coffee!

A nice hidden gem where the coffee shop is in a skateboard merchandise store. The coffee and chai tea wasn't sweet at all and the barista was very accommodating with non dairy milk. 10/10 would recommend!

Popped in for a quick coffee and was not disappointed. The shop had a really cool atmosphere and the person that made my drink was very nice. I got an iced latte with oat milk and it was fabulous. Will visit again next time I'm in town.

Came here with friends on a Sunday afternoon after watching the game at Shoal Creek Saloon down the street. Super cute coffee shop that's inside the skate shop (nocomply). Ordered a cold brew and some ube cookies (supplied by purply) and everything was amazing! The cold brew was the perfect strength, cookies were not super sweet and soft and it was just nice to walk around the shop and look at the merch. If you skateboard, even better lol. They have a fridge of some drinks too if you don't want coffee like coconut water. The guy behind the counter was super friendly and efficient, especially since it was just him helping a group of 8 people. Not a ton of seating though so would go here for to go coffee.

Well this place definitely should catch some attention. It's a nice coffee shop / bike shop near the heart of downtown next to a skate park. The store front is nice but is only outside ordering so you can sit inside and enjoy your drink/snack which I don't mind since they're taking the right precautions making the experience 10x better! The pour over was great! I can't complain although I'm sure I'll have to come back to judge it once again since I'm a firm believer of "if it's great, it can't be a one time fluke". The latte was good but my gf did seem to enjoy it so I'll take her word for it. I love love LOVE that they had bougies donuts here! Love seeing local support local so that should earn some extra points right?! Either way enough rambling, just come on by (car or skateboard) and grab a cup of coffee to shred the rest of the day! Lol

It's a very small car bar inside a skate shop. I got an iced vanilla latte and it was decent but could have been a touch sweeter. There is nowhere within the shop to really sit and hang out, so this is more of a to-go coffee experience. It's fine if you're in the area, but it's not somewhere I would specifically drive to for coffee or meet friends there unless we wanted to shop around in whatever skate store it's inside of.

UPDATE: This great little shop that had to close in its old skate shop location has a new outpost in the SXSW building! I am thrilled! The building is located between Lavaca and Guadalupe and 14th St. They have a limited menu for now of teas and coffees, and a few baked goods, but I'm told they will soon be adding new items, such as grab and go breakfast selections. This is wonderful in this food and coffee desert near the capital.

Idlewild is a cute little coffee shop that's been in my Austin coffee bookmarks for a while now (I feel like I say this a lot in reviews--I should visit new coffee shops more often), and I finally found the time make a visit today! They did a good job with adjusting to COVID-19 standards. You can't go inside, so you have to order by standing outside on the sidewalk. They have a simple menu by the door, so it makes for easy ordering. I ordered a hot cappuccino and iced vanilla latte. Both were...just okay. My boyfriend and I are obviously not coffee experts but merely enjoy going to new coffee shops and trying their different blends and roasts, so I can't give you a technical description on what the coffee tastes like. To me, their coffee is not as unique or memorable compared to some of the other independent coffee shops in Austin. My vanilla latte lacked a stronger vanilla flavor, and I typically like darker roasts. The barista was really nice and friendly, though! I wish I could've gone inside to check out their cool wall art. I will probably come again to experience their other drinks (post-COVID), but for now, these are my thoughts.

Tasty coffee! Friendly, hipster staff! We bought a t-shirt at No Comply Skate Shop while our coffee was being made. So FUN!

Tiny but cute coffee spot inside a skateboard shop. I had an almond milk cortado, which was tasty, and the barista was friendly.

The atmosphere is laid-back and perfect for spending quality time with friends and family. We ordered a Mediterranean wrap, cold sandwiches, iced coffee, refreshing drinks, and a delicious banana muffin. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and reasonably priced, making it a great value for the experience. The vibe here is peaceful and inviting. Although it can get quite hot during the Texas summer, they also operate in the evening, which makes it an ideal place to unwind after sunset. We really enjoyed everything we ordered and look forward to coming back, perhaps after spending some time on the water. If you're looking for a relaxing lakeside hangout in Austin, this place is definitely worth a visit. Cheers!

There is a parking lot that you can get validation for 2 hrs free, but after that you will be charged. Overall though, it's totally worth a visit! The bartenders are really friendly, the bathrooms are immaculate, and the inside of the place is really cute -- think kinda pink vintage? There are some tables, and big comfy couches around a coffee table in the middle of the bar which is where we sat. I had one of their happy hour cocktails that was similar to a creamy espresso martini, and they are 50% off on happy hour days/times! My friend got one of their floral cocktails which wasn't discounted but I LOVED it personally. I also got a strawberry matcha drink (non alcoholic) that was a little too sweet in my opinion; I finished it but wouldn't get it again. Overall though the cocktails and vibe in there are worth a visit alone! When it's not too hot, the area outside has little mini-chandeliers and is also very vibey.

I usually only go to coffee shops to work, but today, went on a coffee date with my dog instead. There's ground floor parking in the garage that's complimentary for two hours. I kept it simple with a vanilla latte. I noticed they had tacos at the bottom of the food menu, but at $13.25 for two tacos + an a la carte item, I decided to pass. Maybe my expectations were too high (as usual) because it's inside a hotel, but I was hoping for the kind of warm hospitality hotels are known for, but instead, the service felt a bit cold. It didn't exactly make me want to spend more money there. While sitting on the patio, I spotted the food truck outside and thought, "PERFECT. A food truck HAS to be cheaper. Take that Simona's!" I walked up to the window... only to find out it wasn't actually a separate food truck. It was just the pickup window. To order? I had to go back inside to Simona's and place my order with the delightful staff... I ended up ordering two Blue Migas tacos, and honestly, they were just... good, but nothing memorable. They tasted like your average breakfast tacos that you can find all over Austin for less. Despite loving how relaxing the outdoor patio is with its lucious greenery surrounding you and the beautiful French chairs and cafe tables, it's located right next to the hotel pool. If you're visiting on a summer afternoon, expect some extra noise with pool guests. If you're looking for a quiet coffee or a place to work, I'd recommend coming early in the morning instead.
