    Pook on the porch

I know I have walked past this place over 100 times and just a couple weeks ago, for the first time, I truly processed it... so I brought my dog today to do some homework on the patio and I really fuck with this place. I got a rosemary bagel with scallion cream cheese, and a drip coffee, which is a fairly simple order and I was perfectly content with what I received. The cream cheese was like whipped or something, so it was pretty light, but it had a lot of flavor and they definitely provide a sufficient amount for the bagel. The vibe stood out to me the most. My dog and I were on the porch, which was chill and a decent amount of seating. It's shaded, which is nice. I really liked the vibes inside, the place has a lot of personality without being overwhelming. The dude who helped me was also super kind and even tho our interaction was brief, he seemed authentic and genuine. There was a consistent flow of people coming and going throughout our time here, it was lively but not overstimulating. My dog also received hella love--and a treat. Will def be returning

French Toast Sticks and Iced Latte (16 oz) with Caramel

I really love this spot's vibe. They have a nice indoor set-up and have seats available outside too. I also love the concept of a place selling coffee and beer (brew and brew). It was easy to set up shop and stay for awhile to work on my laptop and scroll my laptop. I even brought my book to read here. The French Toast sticks were delicious! The dough tasted freshly fried, and the syrup was sweet but not over the top. The iced latte was good, but I wish it was sweeter especially with a caramel sweetener. The staff is also very friendly. It was also see them engage with repeat customers. It definitely has neighborhood, hipster vibes.

Nice indoor and outdoor seating in a raised spot to overlook the streets. The coffee cocktails were really good. A lot of beer on draft. Staff were really nice and attentive. I would like to return to try the food.

Went here for the first time and it was nice. Just got regular drip coffee and it wasn't bad. The sandwich I ordered was tasty. I liked the egg and the bread. French toast sticks in the side were ok. Nothing too fancy. For a quick bite, it's a good little option. They might have some better coffee options than the drip.

My best friend and I walked to Brew and Brew from our hotel and hung out for a couple of hours while we were waiting to check in. We really enjoyed our food, but what really stood out was the service. My best friend and I had some time to kill, so we decided to get a mimosa carafe before heading back to the hotel to get ready for Friday of ACL weekend 2. I saw that they offered frozen lemonade, so I offhandedly made a comment to the bartender like "I wonder if a frozen lemonade with champagne would be good. I mean, you're just swapping out one citrus juice drink for another, right?" I had clearly piqued his interest, so he decided to mix a small amount for himself to try. He thought it was pretty good, and mixed the whole carafe for us! We got to enjoy it on their wraparound porch. Brew and Brew had a nice vibe and was a great place to kick off our stay in ATX. Definitely recommend!

This was such a funky cool place to grab coffee while in Austin!! I mean that in all the best ways of course. It's a lowkey spot and seemed like it had a great energy about it. I just ordered a lavender vanilla oat milk latte and it was pretty good! It could have been a little sweeter. The service was amazing, I was literally cackling with the adorable guy at the register. His locs were as beautiful as his spirit. We could've talked all day lol. Great service! It didn't take long to get my coffee and I'd definitely return.

Brew & Brew is a top choice for coffee, tea, beer, wine, cocktails, and even snacks. They also have events and are open all the time. We're lucky to have a spot like this in East Austin!

It's a chill spot. I've never been in here when it's been super busy. They have limited menu and the food is good. Service is good.

Found this place on Yelp, and I can confirm it's the closest you'll get in Austin to a NYC style BEC breakfast sammy. Also their house cold brew/oat milk bevy is

    Son of a Bun S.O.B.

Busy spot on a Saturday morning! We were able to snag a table and enjoyed some drinks. The French toast sticks were phenomenal and crispy. Perfect amount of sugar on the outside. The Son of the Bun was delightful. The bacon was crispy and the hash brown were perfect. The morning buzz coffee was delish! Lots of people working here on their computer. Would come back to work here and grab a beer!

Good for coffee but lox bagel is a ripoff. $5 for 2 slivers of lox. Better off going to rockstar. They also only had one person making coffee and taking orders causing a delay.

My review won't really reflect the stars I listed because I don't want to make their rating go down any lower than it already is, this place is "cool" the food looks decent when sitting here having my 10oz Sierra Nevada pale ale. It's very frustrating because they don't have any of their beers listed as far as what kind it is, they've got them listed from less hoppy to more hoppy etc. the beertender didn't really have any answers for me as far as what was what. Not sure that I will come back.

Got parking right in front around 9 pm on a Wed. Upon entry was greeted by Melissa and sat in her section. The decor is very diner type with low, cozy booths and few tables and chairs. Not too big of a space and not sure if there is more seating elsewhere. Anyhoo, coffee was good and I got the Royal toast and a single pancake with eggs, and sausage. Ample amount of food and def had take away box. Everything was tasty and the buttermilk pancake was amazing with just syrup. Melissa was kind enough to provide little cups to take syrup home along with the tael away container. They had a daily special and a board above the kitchen with other items. Really wanted to try a slice of pie ( TX Pie Co) but seems a bit outta line with what I already ordered. Maybe next time.

We were both starving and this place is open 24/7. I drove by it for 20 years on the way to Avenue Barber Shop. I wanted shredded beef tacos but couldn't get them without cilantro so I chose shredded beef enchiladas (with an $8!) side of chips and salsa. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries. She requested soft eggs, as she always does because too many places overcook them. The chips and salsa arrived. I was immediately disappointed. The menu said "we make our own chips." They were thick and yellow and appeared to be run-of-the-mill, out-of-a-bag chips. I prefer the thin white ones. I took one bite of salsa, and that was one bite too many. Cumin. I pushed it all aside. Cumin doesn't belong in salsa. (Sorry. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley.) My enchiladas came with black beans, and there was cumin in them. Cumin is overused and abused in most restaurants. I couldn't eat them. The rice was good but the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was not. I scraped most of the sauce off and ate one enchilada, mainly because I just needed something in my stomach. We were still 45 miles from home. I pushed my plate away. I also ordered coffee. One sip of that was all I could stand. Too weak for me. It gets worse, much worse. My wife's eggs were barely cooked. She asked the waiter for some cooked eggs. He took her plate and returned about four minutes later. The eggs were still not cooked. She tried another bite but couldn't eat them. Her bacon was tough as a boot and not chewable. The home fries were average, but by the time her plate arrived at our table for the second time, they were cold. I pulled my card out waiting for our excellent server to return. He asked how everything was (he had to notice two plates still covered with food) and we politely told him. I ate one enchilada and some rice. My wife had two bites of egg and two bites of potato. He apologized and handed me the check. $65. Nothing comped and nothing adjusted. A manager should've been summoned. How does a place like this have any customers? It was our first and last visit.

Friendly staff overall. The food fell flat for almost all of us. The salads were fresh and good. However, the ribs were below average. Cornbread was stale and not tasty. Not quite sure why the food was subpar, but there were 10 of us who all agreed we wouldn't return for food. There is a swanky little cozy speakeasy in the basement that may be good? It's a small space, with only around eight tables and a tiny kitchen behind the counter. It's a bit hard to locate from outside. There's no big sign on the window indicating the restaurant's name, just a plastic A-frame sign outside the building's doors. When I got there, four of the eight tables were empty but the dirty dishes had not yet been cleared. It took close to 10 minutes for the tables to be bused. Because the kitchen is so small, I'd recommend going up to the counter to order as soon as you get there. I believe you can also place your order online using the QR code on the table, but I didn't try that method.
