Blown away by how bad this experience was. It's the worst I've had in a while. So.many.things. Or as my husband said, like a "domino effect". We did call in for a reservation and good thing we did because there was a line of people wanting tables. There's no full hostess; she's running around to tables when she's not helping the line. Upon sitting down, we got a dirty water glass, which we asked to have replaced. We ordered beverages. One whiskey flight for hubs, ginger beer for me. I asked about "mocktails" for my preggo status but server dude didn't seem to have anything to offer. I got my ginger beer right away while my hubs didn't get his flight for another 20 minutes or so, and still never got a clean water glass. Meanwhile, 2 other tables were served their drinks and food before we saw much of anything. We ordered food - Brussels, hangar steak, the salad, and sausage. None of it came out while the other tables seemed to be happily embibing and eating. In fact it took at least 45 minutes for us to get our food order; no doubt I was getting hangry and annoyed. Server dude was running all over and not really checking on us at all, but whenever he did make a pit stop he said "didn't you order food?" Yeah, dude, you took the order. Anyway, it all finally arrived and the Brussels were the best in my opinion. And then, it went further downhill from there. We were given another dirty share plate and had to ask for a replacement. How many dirty dishes should one encounter on a single visit? Bad sign. Then, after making our way through the steak I found a bug crawling on it. The salad, which was advertised with "spring mix" was all but that. Iceberg lettuce my friends. I have a severe hatred for iceberg lettuce, as it's pointless to eat. And it's like a dollar. I'm sorry, but I will not pay $9 for an iceberg lettuce salad. And the canned mandarin oranges. Distasteful. Completely not as advertised. We showed server dude the bug on our steak plate and mentioned the salad is not as advertised. He didn't really do anything except say sorry, then ran off to his manager to tell him. Then came back and took it away just saying they'd take the dishes off the check. So bad. So, so bad. Service was just flat out bad. Server dude was off. Food COULD have been good. For what it's worth, what I tasted was pretty good. The lack of clean dishes is an issue. With that, we left unhappy and terribly disappointed. It's popular for some reason, but from this experience I have absolutely no motivation to ever return or encourage anyone else to go. They did end up comping all of our food, but considering all of the above, still not worth it. read more

Amazing food! Bulgogi ribs have excellent flavor and are super tender. The Brussel Sprouts are nicely crisp and really like the thai chilli sauce. The pork sliders, mmm and the buffalo style smoked wings had great flavor. These are not the burn your tongue types rather tantalize with flavor. The spirits are good and reasonable flights for what one's tastes are. I enjoyed the single malt the most, and the rye was solid. The blackerry lemonade mocktail is absolutely srumptious. This was a tough review for me to write. The food and drinks were unreal but the service was subpar. We came here last weekend for dinner after hitting the slopes and had quite the experience. Quick disclaimer, we did come into a distillery with a two year old and two babies; however we did make our reservation for 5:30 in hopes of missing the rush and not tying up a table during their busy time. Our server was rude and irritated from the get-go. I'm not sure if it was us having kiddos, a bad day for her or just her general personality. It just went downhill from there. The biggest issue being that our meat and cheese board didn't come out prior to the rest of our food and when we asked about it and decided we didn't want it, she proceeded to stalk off in a huff. (Sorry but my thought is apps come before everything else...) Anyways, enough ranting. The food was delish. Do yourself a favor and order the mac n cheese bites, brussel sprouts and the french onion soup. They were all fresh and cooked to perfection. The French Onion soup is a fun twist on an old classic with the short rib. Additionally, they make almost all of their booze and mixers in house. This creates a unique experience that is truly innovative. Its also super fun that the barrels are all around the room and you can see the distilling process. I'm sure we would come back if we were looking for a good place to eat in Winter Park. Hopefully the service would be better next time. read more

This is a hidden gem right off the highway. After heading down the side stairs you walk into a cozy stone basement with tables, comfy chairs, a big fireplace, and a beautiful distillery open for all to see. Most of the snacks are tasty, some at better than others so I recommend you just try what you like. I'm a big fan of the brussel sprouts. The spirits, though! The Moscow mule is an easy win for anyone. In addition to their vodka, they make their own (delicious) ginger beer. I haven't found a whiskey-based drink I didn't enjoy, yet either. I'd recommend this spot to anyone looking for a fun local cocktail. read more

There's a bartender who cares about customer service and actually takes care of customers. Major kudos to him! The front house staff was completely opposite of the bartender I mentioned above. The front staff was egregiously rude and unwelcoming. The hostess was incredibly unaware of what the venue served. How is that a thing?! Clearly they don't train their staff about what can offer customers. That's shocking. The manager...what can we say besides pretentious? He wanted nothing to do with us. It's as if my friends and I (a group of four) walked in the door, he judged/labeled us, and decided to ignore us for the rest of the night. Clearly he had bad judgement when a group of professionals walked in and he essentially told us to get away. Suddenly they were at capacity, even though they had tables open in the back. My group pushed on the "capacity" comment, we negotiated for us to be able to get a drink at the bar, and yet the wait staff continued to push us out of the way and tried to make us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Numerous waitstaff told us to get out of the way when we were trying to order our drinks. The manager and one of the waitresses had the audacity to rudely discuss why my friends and I were standing in the hostess area with a drink. One of my friends overheard them, looked at them, and suddenly they ran away... I wanted to come check this place out for a few years on my numerous trips to Winter Park, but after this experience, I won't be back. I'd suggest you stay away unless you're a hoity toity person... We asked other locals about the venue and they mentioned Idewild treats locals in the same way when they get busy. This place clearly has zero concerns about customer service. Why did it take so long to come to this place. I had been the location along time ago when it was the old sushi bar. Coming to yet another underground basement nightlife establishment didn't always sound so appealing. Then I heard a few people talking about it and we decided to stop by and check it out. They did a great job at redesigning the space, it feels open and bright. Our bartender was nice and friendly letting us try samples of stuff before we decided on drinks. I stick to wine mostly and don't drink much hard alcohol. They sell wine here which was a huge surprise. I ended up with a cocktail of hibiscus gin and bubbles. I've never heard of hibiscus gin before. Interesting. What a cool place with a cool vibe. My friend wants to meet up here and play games. She said lots of people bring games in to play. We got this recommendation from a local we ran into at another bar. We were extremely disappointed once we got there. The hostess was rude as was the bartender. We sat at the bar since the hostess stated that was the only available seating (there were open tables I could clearly see). We obliged. The bar tender said there was a QR code for the menu and said rudely she could get us menus if possible. My husband went to the restroom and the bar tender never asked if I wanted a drink. Meanwhile the hostess came back over and asked if I would move so she could cram more people into the space. I moved down and then two people came and sat down. They either work there or knew the bartender because she immediately started talking to them and got them drinks. Meanwhile my husband was back. She still never asked us for our drink order, she was too busy conversing with her friends. We left without ordering anything. If you make it clear we don't fit in and you can't be bothered- I'm not going to spend money there. I'm sure it's fine- but they need to work on their customer service. read more

Hands down the best restaurant we tried during our 5 days in Winter Park. The atmosphere is very nice, with lots of tables set away in nooks and crannies amongst barrels from the distillery. The cocktails were very good - I particularly enjoyed the Vodka Shrub which was fizzy and lightly sweet. I also ordered a Last Call, a classic cocktail that was not on the menu. This was one of the best versions of the drink I have ever had. It was perfectly balanced and I had several :) Companions noted that the Old Fashioned was sweeter than they are used to. We ordered tons of food (sausage, truffle fries, short rib, chili, wings, brussels) and enjoyed everything. We ended up getting second orders of the short rib and the jerk wings which were favorites of the table. The short ribs were rich and a little sweet thanks to the caramelized onions. The jerk wings had a lingering heat, with extra-crispy skin and perfectly cooked, not dry meat. read more

Last night 6 family members and myself dined at this unassuming family-style tapas restaurant. The friendly hostess greeted us and fixed us a table for 7 within a minute. Brad (I believe that was his name) was our waiter. He was super nice and attentive, but not at all overbearing. He took the time to give great recommendations and make sure we were satisfied with everything. This is a super fun place especially if you appreciate the distillery element of things. The food was great, I would describe it as "elevated bar food". The truffle fries and ribs were especially big hits. The price point is super reasonable, in my opinion. For our ski trip here at Winter Park, our favorite restaurant/bar is Idlewild. Their distilled spirits were phenomenal; we did a flight and really enjoyed it. My wife loved Idlewild Mule. The have a legit staff there. Everyone was so nice and helpful. It was pleasantly surprising. The chef was super cool, he would come out and even talk to the people there and hang out. Even though it's a bar, the food was pretty incredible: we had the best Brussels sprouts ever there + chicken wings with teriyaki sauce + Asian ribs with corn pudding was simply incredible. Parking is easy and there are lots of spaces. The inside has a man cave feel to it. Loved it! They have a cool sense of style for their furniture. The only thing I wish was that they had a TV there. read more

This place has a super cool atmosphere and the food & service was amazing. We had the crispy Brussels - which lived up to their name and had a sweet & tangy sauce. The Pho - which was HUGE and the Korean ribs - so tender. My husband is a bourbon connoisseur and loved the Woodcutter. I went here twice over Labor Day weekend. Friday evening, we saw a distillery sign and got excited. Distillery in WP? I had not expected that. So, my husband and I stopped in - he got the mule and I had the lemon vanilla martini. The mule was great, delicious house made ginger beer to boot. The martini was refreshingly not too sweet. We moved on to a juniper infused gin and tonic and a mojito. Really nice drinks. We also got the gin brined wings, peach salad and fries. These were all above expectations. We chatted with a gal at the bar and sat a a table because we came with another couple. She brought menus over and we thought this meant table service. That is where the star got lost. We needed to go to the bar to order our bloodies (superb!) and a mimosa and a beer, as well as our chicken and waffles. Again, the waffles were light and herbed, rosemary with. Hint of sage. Fried boneless chicken thighs were incredibly flavorful and crispy. There was a nice sauce, sliced peaches and real maple syrup. Perfect serving size which I really appreciate. The lost star has to do with communication. If you bring menus to the table, please let us know if you don't take our order at the table. We will definitely be back when in WP. We were there with a huge wedding group on a sat night. Most of the tables were filled already. The bartender was busy, busy, busy. There was 1 guy making most of he drinks and another grabbing the beers. It took awhile to get a cocktail. After he first drink I ended up going with beers because that was quicker to get. The raspberry beer was good. We got some snacks. Truffle fries. And pork belly. The truffle fries were really good. There was nice sauce on it. The pork belly was served on a bed of corn salsa. There was one small piece of pork belly and it was $14. Overpriced for what you get. They were slammed due to the 60 or so people from our group but the servers were nice and tried to clear things as fast as they could. Overall a nice place, but a bit pricy. read more

I had the rye mule, and it was OK. The staff was real nice, the ski town 20-something's seemed as interested in planning their evening partying as focusing on customers, but hey- I was a 20-something working in a restaurant too once so I can relate. Then I went into the bathroom and saw the inventory of product bottles stored on the floor in the Men's room?! What the ?? This has got to be some sort of board of health violation. Seriously, in the bathroom? On the floor? These were boxes of spare liquor bottles waiting their turn. Very strange. The pic shows the scene. Can't make a comment on the quality of the food as we never received it. However, the quality of the service was atrocious. The waiter, Lily, was extremely condescending and would make snide remarks about us. My friend asked about two drinks in order to decide which one she wanted, she ended up picking the one that was not one of the waiter's favorites. Her selecting that drink led to Lily making a rude comment about her choice. Later on, about thirty or so minutes after we ordered our food we were informed that two of the things we ordered were not available. That was understandable enough, but the waitress did not stick around long enough to ask if we wanted something else. To add onto that, we were informed that only one form of pasta was still available, but we saw that other people were getting dishes that were supposedly not available. After waiting an hour and a half for our food we decided to ask about why ours had not come out yet when people who got there later than us were receiving their food. Lily began speaking in a condescending tone towards my friend saying that "they were working on it." We waited a bit more after that, but ultimately decided to just pay for our drinks and leave. read more
