Considering Idyllwild is incredibly dog-friendly (The city's mayor is a Golden Retriever!), we thought we'd have a good experience here too. They've got a beautiful patio with a great view so we were excited to get a patio seat with our dogs. This is a sports bar restaurant with sports playing on multiple TVs so the noise level was fairly loud overall. Unfortunately, we have smaller yappy dogs so they did start barking whenever a dog would walk by. We didn't think much of it since it was a fairly noisy environment however, one of the waiters came by claiming that we received complaints from "a few people" about our dogs barking. I will state that the waiter was very polite and cordial about it, but it still left a bad taste in our mouths. Would people complain about crying babies as well? We didn't want to risk it so we took our dogs to the car while we finished our meal. Our food was ok but was disappointed that there weren't more options on the menu. It's appetizers you'd normally find in a bar, a few salad options but mainly variations on hot dogs, sandwiches, and burgers. read more

Wednesday night, low season. Plenty of seating (not that it was empty, just that we only needed 1 table & had several options) Waitresses were great & had plenty to recommend off the menu. Brussels sprouts, fish & chips & ponzu sauce salad were all delicious. None of us tried the burgers. Only negatives were unlucky- we happened to arrive when they were out of the local IPA & switching their dessert menu, so just the beignets were available. Drinks, food, snacks, desserts and more. They also have a newer Tiki Tuesday menu with pretzels, burgers and chili. Check out the beer flights too! You can sample 4 different kinds of beers and support local businesses. We had a great experience at this fun kid friendly brew pub. The ambiance is warm with pleasant views of the trees. The service was great - it was busy but everyone was really nice. The food was also very good. My chicken pesto sando was really yummy - perfectly toasted so it was crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside. The onion rings were perfectly crunchy and really good. My husband got the chilli, which he said was good just lacked some spice. My kids each got a kids meal (hot dog and chicken tenders) and the portion was a really hearty size. Highly recommend coming here for lunch. read more

We visited this restaurant when we were in town visiting. We were looking for something local and with good reviews and the brewpub did not disappoint. The wait staff was so friendly, even joking around with our 5 year old and having some fun. Something so simple, but makes your visit so much more memorable. Last time we were here it was because we were hiking the PCT! So this place is especially nostalgic to us. I'm super biased but I just think this place is wonderful. The prices are a little high, but there is a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains and forest from the deck. They have an awesome food and drink menu which never disappoints. Tree lined exterior with a great outdoor patio for dining. Views were excellent while enjoying your meal and drinks. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Everything was clean and well arranged. Up here with friends, and we came starving. It was a hit! Everyone was very happy with their meal. My boyfriend and I split the classic burger and the chili. Fries were delicious. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was definitely the place to be. We waited for 15-20 minutes for a table for 7, which wasn't bad at all. We sat outside on the patio, which was perfect with the weather being so nice. Quite a few fur babies on the patio, so safe to say this establishment is dog friendly. First time going to Idyllwild Brew. If you don't like stairs or heights this might not be the place for you. I didn't see any other way to get in. We got greeted right away and we chose to sit outside, was way cooler with a breeze. She brought us water right away after seating us.The place looked very clean and looks like it gets busy on occasions. The service lacked as we had time to read the menu and look on yelp for reviews. Then finally someone noticed us after taking care of others that arrived after us. We got a beer flight what I had I liked. They could make the card easier to read, the writing was sloppy. Nice pub with typical brewpub fare which is quite tasty but the star of the "show" is their beer selection! They have everything from lagers to IPAs to wheat beers to dark to Belgians. I totally recommend the flight of 4 beers; unlike many other places, where you can't order a flight from the entire beer menu, this place allows you to do so! I am partial to Belgian beers so try theirs plus their amazing Ridger's IPA. Amazing! Long lines during the weekend, keep that in mind. read more

The day after new years we came here and im assuming they don't really cater well to outsiders. As soon as we arrived there was a people already seated and enjoying themselves. A couple was let in by the hostess before us but when they got to us the lady immediately told us they ran out of food? Hmmm strange at 4pm? We got the vibe. It was locals only anybody else you can go somewhere else as she told us there's plenty of other restaurants we can go to instead of there's. Came here for dinner and there was an approximately 45 minute wait, although we got a text 10 minutes earlier than expected letting us know a table was ready. Indoor (table and bar) and outdoor seating is available. Free parking lot available. Restrooms available by the T-shirt's for sale. They had free stickers which was nice. We had an order of Buffalo jumbo wings which come in 6. I got the cowboy poutine off of the specials menu, and it was a very large portion. They have a flight tasting of 4 for $14 and also have ciders/seltzers available. read more

We visited on a Thursday evening and the place was quiet and wonderfully comfortable. Our server Taylor was super pleasant and enjoyable to talk to and even gave us recommendations. Great spot for casual and relaxing hangout. Do I recommend it? Yes. We always end up coming here when we visit Idyllwild. This brewpub has awesome location. The large front patio overlooks mountain and lush forest. The inside looks cool too. I noticed that recently additional seating areas were added outside most likely due to this brewpub's popularity. During this visit we sat by the bar and ordered a few cocktails. The bartender prepared the handcrafted cocktails very well. The right amount of properly mixed ingredients made the drinks very enjoyable. We ordered IBP smoked old fashioned, devil's slide and seasonal seltzer. We will come back again for sure and hopefully next time we will try some foods as well. read more
