Good service staff are friendly. Only problem is that they have a lousy food at cafeteria.

Heartland wasn't a perfect match for Mom, but it was a great match. I checked Mom in based on prior reviews, so I had high expectations. There were some bumps along the way, but I was really impressed with how dedicated the people were to meeting Mom's needs, making her comfortable, and resolving any issues that came up. Mom spent about three months at Heartland paid for by Medicare as rehab and about three months self-pay in their nursing care. It's all the same care, it's just a matter of who is paying. She spent a week on their assisted living floor trying to live independently, but it just didn't work. What I was struck by, at all levels, was how approachable everyone was. From the aides to the administrator, everyone was there for Mom and for our family. I wish I could name each of their names (I have them all written down here somewhere), but I'd miss someone important and I don't want to do that. More than anything else, Mom wanted to get back to her apartment at her old assisted living center, but Heartland took much better care of her and she was just too ill to return to her old lifestyle. Ultimately, Mom died at Heartland. I could wish for a better ending to her story, but not a better ending to her life. She died comfortably, loved, and well taken care of. Thank you Heartland and each of you who worked with Mom. I would have no hesitation recommending Heartland. Visit for yourself. The building is a bit worn, but the staff are wonderful, organized, and they react quickly to the needs of their patients and residents.

We…read morerecently moved her to another place, and the difference in the care and her well being speaks volumes. There are several good caregivers here; however, I am unable to recommend this community because of the following issues: 1. Lack of communication: Although we were assured when she moved in that we would be updated on her care and condition on a monthly basis, we were seldom updated on her condition unless there was some kind of emergency. We received no regular status updates of how she was doing. 2. Lots of turnover: I understand the senior living industry experiences high turnover in general; however, this place is a revolving door except for a few good caregivers. Depending on who the administrator and memory care director was at the time, it varied on if we were able to communicate with the memory care director. Note: the administrator who was there at the time we moved her was very responsive and nice (Shelly Vercell) 3. Lack of activities: Lots of TV time, few activities. 4. Cost increases: Within six months they issued two large increases, justifying one by saying our mother needed additional care, and justifying the next increase so that they could pay their staff more. The place was quickly becoming a cash drain despite the problems. 5. Reimbursement of funds due to us: We had to give a 30 day notice which is understandable, and pay the month in advance. It took numerous calls and emails over two months to get the funds due back to us that we had prepaid. We were told numerous times "it's being mailed" and it was not until I called the corporate office that we received payment. No apologies from corporate, either.

I can't even begin to tell you how many activity directors left, with only a couple that were dedicated to providing residents with mental stimulation. They mostly watched t.v. or napped which is what you would expect in a nursing home and not memory care.I felt that the caregivers were dedicated and did the best that they could considering the huge turn over of staff. Communication was nonexistent and the main phone number was rarely answered. After 3 years we decided to transfer my 93 year old Mom to a different facility. She went from being kept in a wheelchair for 3 years even though she can walk without assistance to never using one at all. She has scheduled activities from morning until bedtime and never takes a nap. The facility has courtyards that the residents are encouraged to enjoy and they are taken on frequent bus trips. My Mom never left the building previously unless I took her. The last straw was taking months of calling management for the refund that we were owed after the move.We finally called the owner and never got a response but finally received the check today.

DO NOT place your loved ones in Trinity. This facility…read moreoperates like a poorly run state institution--understaffed, neglectful, and unsafe. Staffing: Only one nurse's aide is assigned per ward. This leaves residents waiting hours for basic care. Food: Meals are consistently served cold, salty, and greasy. My mother refuses to eat, and instead of addressing her nutritional needs, the staff forced her back onto a feeding tube. Medical Care: My mother left the hospital with a functioning bladder, yet the staff inserted a catheter unnecessarily. She now requires a urologist to determine if it can ever be removed. Neglect & Emotional Harm: She cries out, asks to be moved, and is ignored. She is left lying in bed in a diaper, denied access to a bedpan or bedside commode, and told to sit in her waste until the single aide is available. Health Risks: Despite her history of stroke, seizures, aspiration, and repeated UTIs, staff dismiss her concerns. When she complained of a headache and requested her blood pressure be checked, the nurse responded with attitude, saying she wouldn't do it "every time." Final Thoughts Trinity has failed my mother in every possible way--medically, emotionally, and physically. The lack of compassion and professionalism here is alarming. Families should think twice before entrusting their loved ones to this facility.

Amber, Leo, Nell, Emily, Victoria, Yvette, The physical therapy staff and Patsy. I appreciate all of you! My father came here for rehab and unfortunately ended up staying. I feel so guilty for leaving him in this place for so long. Besides the people mentioned above, Trinity has some of the most nastiest, unprofessional healthcare workers I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. The lack of compassion and integrity concerning their JOBS/ the care of the defenseless is blatantly obvious and disgusting. Anytime I made a complaint, I was lied to that it would be resolved only for me to find out later that the issue wasn't even addressed and not one person put forth any effort. I used to send emails to Ms Christina (have everything in writing when dealing with this place) and was ignored until I complained. This is the head nurse??? In the 3 years my father lived here I never spoke to her in person NOT once, she avoided me when I came in which I thought was funny. Even on his last day she avoided me :) I also remember a nasty tech CODY calling me and asking when was my dad was leaving??????? because apparently my father WITH DEMENTIA told him so, so I guess it was true. I reminded him that he has dementia, and he then laughed and hung up on me. I will never ever forget that encounter and that was my first impression of him. Such a nasty "employee", I cringed anytime I saw him because my father often spoke of how nasty Cody treated him. I PICKED HIM UP ON HIS LAST DAY THERE AND HE WAS COVERED IN FECES. I LEFT, AFTER 3 YEARS WITH A FEW SHIRTS, 3 PAIRS OF PANTS AND A FEW SWEATERS. No clothes, and anything else of somewhat value was gone. There are plenty of healthcare workers who value their jobs and genuinely care for others but you will not find many of those people here. While looking for a new facility for him, a lady came by to meet him. She called me and said she was so happy that my dad was leaving that place and how horrible it was. She was only there for a few minutes!! She also mentioned his room being 67 degrees which was often the case. They stuck him at the end of the hall, in a dark cold room, so they dont have to deal with him. (also the employees sneak out the back door at night to smoke marijuana and cigs) That is all I have for now, i have so many unfortunate stories but I will save those for my report to Texas Health and human services. For the Love of God, Do not leave your loved one to be cared for by such dark spirits of spite and unhappiness.
