Walked in very nice, clean place. Immediate customer service as you walk in the door - quite welcoming! We had the La Jefa plate since I couldn't decide - it was delicious. The shrimp enchiladas were amazing (he cleaned his plate) the refried beans were delicious and tasted fresh! Would definitely recommend! Oh - the white queso is the best appetizer!

Was here for lunch one day with some business associates. They tell me it has been up/down and has changed names a few(?) times, but say this latest incarnation is very good. I must say they were correct. The food was wonderful! They have a number of different menu items and combinations that you don't find just anywhere. It makes it hard to narrow it down to just one thing! Means I'll have to go back some time... We were there at lunch time on a weekday and it was a little loud. We had to kind of shout our orders to the server, but it wasn't so bad that we couldn't carry on conversation. Despite that, our orders were all correct. Our server was really hustling and the group never wanted for anything. Staff were friendly and the overall vibe was very cheerful. On a weekend when everyone is drinking it is surely lots of fun. Highly recommended. I would not hesitate to go back.

Came to Iguanas Ranas Pearland thanks to a dinner invite from local Yelpers Jason D and Lyndsey N. Iguana Ranas original location in Pearland was right outside my neighborhood and I never got a chance to try it. They then took over this restaurant in Old (East) Pearland where they could spread out in this very large space. This was my first time walking into the space and it is huge. Parking was not an issue the night we came, but I feel like with the amount of space and tables inside and if they are busy, parking will be tight. Customer service was great. We were seated right away in the main dining area next to the Tortilleria where they make their tortillas. Dawn was our server for the night and she was such a joy. She matched my energy and I am all for it. Work was particularly busy that day and a margarita was calling my name. I will say the drink and food prices are pretty nice here. We just missed happy hour which would have made the prices even nicer. I went with a frozen strawberry margarita. I'm not a huge marg guy, but this drink hit the spot. It wasn't too sweet and was quite refreshing as well. Like other Tex-Mex spots, you get the complimentary chips and salsas. We tore through a couple of baskets of that. The appetizer menu did look good, but I was ready for a meal. My go to dish on a first visit is usually a chimichanga, but Dawn talked me into trying the Fajita Flameadas. I got the combination beef and chicken that sat on a sizzling bed of thin onions, topped with that nice melty cheese, and then a generous amount of chorizo. It was served with fresh flour tortillas, charro beans, rice and all the fajita accoutrements. The fajitas were cooked to perfection. They were nice and tender and had a hint of lime. The cheese and chorizo was a nice flavor enhancement. The tortillas were delicious as well. I thought the rice was good, but my charro beans were a little too watery for my liking. The flavor was there though. No room for dessert on this visit, but those churros and sopapillas will be had soon. Overall, I'm kind of mad at myself for never visit them at their other location closer to my house. Pearland has some good options as far as Tex-Mex goes, so this place will go into the rotation. I'll be back.

My first visit to this restaurant wasn't the best experience. While I was part of a large group of 12, it was a Monday night, and it took over an hour for us to get our food after ordering. Our waitress even confirmed at one point that it had been 50 minutes, and it still took time to come out after that. By that point, we were so full off of chips, that we couldn't fully enjoy our meals. I understand this was a new location for them, so maybe they're just working out kinks or was an off night. Besides the outrageous wait, it was a nice atmosphere and the food and drinks were good.

Service isn't the best, but my mother likes it. That's all that matters.

Good ritas, okayv to good food, mid service.... Close enough to visit again, not not worth a drive.

You're better off going to Taco Bell. Food is a poor interpretation of Mexican cuisine and a travesty at best.

If you are unsure what to order, try out their brunch. My favorite is pozole Verde. It is chicken and it does give you a slight kick in taste. If you are searching for less spice try the carnitas (pork). Their eggs are also relatively calm and easy to handle. I really also enjoy their coffee, café de olla. It is served with an authentic pottery mug. Their soup bowls are also in this same style. Arroz con leche ( creamy rice pudding with cinnamon) is very good. I also love their cute small pasty that looks like a funnel and taste like bunuelos (sweet crunchy rice cake with cinnamon). Great ambience and it feels like you are in a festive place.

Bottom line, plenty of spaces. Side note, they're not all spaced the way you might expect. Walking in, the place was hopping. Much more crowded than the former business. Pretty good sized menu. They serve you the red salsa, but you can ask for the green. The kind that gives you heart burn for hours. Worth it. Both salsa were great, chips were fresh. We ordered house margaritas, and those were also very good. Pricing was average. For food we ordered the parrillada El Malecon. Mixed beef and chicken, with ribs and quail. Here's where things went a little rough. We ordered the "for two" but the entire was still in a " for one" portion. 3 pieces of steak, 3 chicken, one quail 2 rib portions. Definitely seemed off. The manager came by, and we discussed. On THEIR menu, the double portion is only 4 strips of steak, 4 of chicken, still only one quail, and two rib portions. The reasoning we were given is that people don't seem to like the quail. First, nothing about this is "for two." For 45.99 this isn't it. The chicken and beef were good, the quail was not seasoned well unfortunately, and the ribs were over sauced with a cheap syrupy sauce. Overall food was a no. But here's where I also have to give credit. They stuck with their defense, and while we discussed someone brought a plate of chicken and beef. While we weren't going to ask for anything, we do appreciate their thoughtfulness and speedy resolution. Maybe they knew it was coming , or maybe they just jumped ahead to make it work. Either way, we appreciated that effort. Overall, service was great, food was 50/50. Wouldn't do the parrilladas again, but would try other menu items.

The hunger pangs hit and I just happened to be near this place. I've only seen it in passing but haven't really seen much chatter on the local foodie pages on social media or on here. I arrived around the end of breakfast and there wasn't much of a crowd inside. Parking was easy right out front. I was a little confused at the ordering process. Was it counter service or table service? No one really pointed me in the right direction until my waitress Claudia told me to have a seat and she would be helping me. She did an amazing job from start to finish. I was expecting just a taco joint, but they have lots more to offer on their menu. They have gorditas, tostadas, tortas, burritos, quesadillas, burgers, breakfast items, soup and entrees. They also have your usual drinks options along with agua frescas, shakes, juices, margartitas and beers. I was torn between breakfast and lunch so I decided to try both. I went with the dish that has the same name as the restaurant. Tacos Toreados came with 3 tacos with a protein of your choice on a flour tortillas and what makes these different was that they came with grilled onions and mozzarella cheese. I also went with a bacon and egg taco just so I can really judge the place. What I didn't expect was how massive the tacos were going to be. I got mine with pastor and fajitas. It looked more like a tostada with the toppings covering the whole surface of the tortilla. The fajita and pastor was seasoned beautifully and was very tasty. The onions were sauteed just right but I do like raw onions and cilantro on my tacos a little better. The cheese was a nice addition as well. I barely got through two and on the third I just ate the meat. I saved just enough room to try the breakfast taco which was very good. Washed it all down with a Mexican Coke. This place is very close to my house and I will most definitely be back to make my way through their menu.

This location in Pearland is near a shopping center and has plenty of parking all around. The inside is well decorated and has high ceilings and well-made furniture, plus there is quite a bit of seating so even when it is busy there is a good bit of room. We went shortly before 5pm on a weekend and only had to wait a few minutes to get a table. You can tell by how busy it stays that this is a popular place. I opted for the Plato Soldado (soldier plate) since they were running a Memorial Day/July 4th deal where a small donation was made for every order. It included a steak fajita taco, cheese enchilada, and pork tamale. All were excellent and there was plenty of steak inside. The sides were also great. My wife got the El Dorado (chicken smothered with sauce and other toppings) and really enjoyed hers. We also got some cheese dip and enjoyed plenty of chips, plus they give you some other sauces besides just salsa. All of their prices are quite reasonable and service was very quick, so I get why this place is so popular. Definitely check them out if you are in the Houston area, as they have many locations.
