I visited for the first time and was pleasantly surprise how spacious it was . It's very family friendly with many table seats for large parties. The staff were nice and accommodating. My husband and I asked for a spicy salsa. Initially, our server advised that they did not have a spicy salsa but after conversing a bit more, he was able to provide us with Jalapeños and a habanero sauce. That was very kind as it was not a sauce typically provided . The service started off pretty slow , but once our server introduced himself, from that moment on it was smooth. Our food was good. I ordered the chicken flautas which came out fresh. Once I drizzled the habanero salsa on top of them , my dish was perfect . I appreciate the chips and mild salsa upon arrival and the ice cream sundae section to grab something sweet on the way out. Overall, we had a good night and a pleasant dinner experience. read more

Walked in very nice, clean place. Immediate customer service as you walk in the door - quite welcoming! We had the La Jefa plate since I couldn't decide - it was delicious. I really liked this place and was a repeat customer here until the last time, which I got food poisoning and was up puking all night--nonstop into the next day. Little too intimidated to return after that experience. I got the poblano chicken, which was my favorite to get along with the cool flight of margaritas. Was here for lunch one day with some business associates. They tell me it has been up/down and has changed names a few(?) times, but say this latest incarnation is very good. I must say they were correct. The food was wonderful! They have a number of different menu items and combinations that you don't find just anywhere. It makes it hard to narrow it down to just one thing! Means I'll have to go back some time... We were there at lunch time on a weekday and it was a little loud. We had to kind of shout our orders to the server, but it wasn't so bad that we couldn't carry on conversation. Despite that, our orders were all correct. Our server was really hustling and the group never wanted for anything. Staff were friendly and the overall vibe was very cheerful. On a weekend when everyone is drinking it is surely lots of fun. Came to Iguanas Ranas Pearland thanks to a dinner invite from local Yelpers Jason D and Lyndsey N. Iguana Ranas original location in Pearland was right outside my neighborhood and I never got a chance to try it. They then took over this restaurant in Old (East) Pearland where they could spread out in this very large space. This was my first time walking into the space and it is huge. Parking was not an issue the night we came, but I feel like with the amount of space and tables inside and if they are busy, parking will be tight. Customer service was great. We were seated right away in the main dining area next to the Tortilleria where they make their tortillas. Dawn was our server for the night and she was such a joy. She matched my energy and I am all for it. Work was particularly busy that day and a margarita was calling my name. I will say the drink and food prices are pretty nice here. We just missed happy hour which would have made the prices even nicer. I went with a frozen strawberry margarita. I'm not a huge marg guy, but this drink hit the spot. It wasn't too sweet and was quite refreshing as well. Like other Tex-Mex spots, you get the complimentary chips and salsas. We tore through a couple of baskets of that. The appetizer menu did look good, but I was ready for a meal. My go to dish on a first visit is usually a chimichanga, but Dawn talked me into trying the Fajita Flameadas. I got the combination beef and chicken that sat on a sizzling bed of thin onions, topped with that nice melty cheese, and then a generous amount of chorizo. It was served with fresh flour tortillas, charro beans, rice and all the fajita accoutrements. The fajitas were cooked to perfection. They were nice and tender and had a hint of lime. The cheese and chorizo was a nice flavor enhancement. The tortillas were delicious as well. I thought the rice was good, but my charro beans were a little too watery for my liking. The flavor was there though. No room for dessert on this visit, but those churros and sopapillas will be had soon. Overall, I'm kind of mad at myself for never visit them at their other location closer to my house. Pearland has some good options as far as Tex-Mex goes, so this place will go into the rotation. My first visit to this restaurant wasn't the best experience. While I was part of a large group of 12, it was a Monday night, and it took over an hour for us to get our food after ordering. Our waitress even confirmed at one point that it had been 50 minutes, and it still took time to come out after that. By that point, we were so full off of chips, that we couldn't fully enjoy our meals. I understand this was a new location for them, so maybe they're just working out kinks or was an off night. Worst margarita this Millennium. Maybe ever. I like most margaritas, even if they're too weak, too sweet, no flavor, frozen, rocks, everything. I can't think of anything that I can compare to Iguana Ranas' on the rocks margarita except maybe mixing Kool aid and tequila in college. I could only stomach two sips and drank water instead. Our group of 3 adults & 2 kids came on a Thursday about 6 pm, so the restaurant was relatively busy. The facilities were new, bright, & very clean. All of the greeters & wait staff were very friendly & attentive. The food took a long time to get. Together, we had an assortment of foods ... beef fajitas, shrimp, chicken taquitos, bean chalupa, beef taco, cheese enchiladas, refried beans. Barracho beans, flour tortillas, corn tortillas, guacamole, queso chips, etc. Unfortunately, essentially all of the food was very bland. (I joked with our table that this was Mexican food for old people.) It also took a while to get & pay our bill. As I was leaving, one hostess opened a drawer & gave several sets of silverware (knife & fork rolled up in a paper napkin) to another hostess to seat a group of people that just came into the restaurant. After the 2nd hostess led her group to a table, the first hostess dropped 3-4 sets of silverware onto the floor. She just picked them up off of the floor and put them back into the drawer with the clean sets. I told her on the way out that I wouldn't want to use napkins that have been on the floor. We enjoyed the free ice cream afterwards with a follow up of arcade games with my littles. Glad to see the Juanitos space hopping again! We have been to Iguana Ranas on Walnut and Grand a few times. The inside is open, bright, and inviting. They have a large bar area to the left when you walk in. They have an area with video games in the back right. They also still have the banquet room in the back! Service has always been good and the food is great. We had a small concern one time but the server worked to fix the issue and exceeded our expectations! We even saw our favorite waitress Ms. Carmen! My husband is in search of the Holy Grail of Tex-Mex. Iguanas Ranas on South Grand in Pearland fits the bill. We have eaten in many times, and we have done to-go orders too. The quality of the food has been excellent each time. The wait staff are well trained and excel in customer service. Hubby Man usually asks to design his own platter. Not once has there been a complaint. I've been leaning towards the Chile Rellenos, but the Chimichangas are good too. The only complaint is a few times when we have come, there have been big family celebrations with the kidlets. These bambinos are really loud. That is frustrating; however, with twelve grandchildren, I know it can be challenging to keep them subdued. It has not kept us away. read more

My regular Pollo Del Mar was an all time favorite and now they serve you a measly amount of chicken and rice.
