Service was a bit slow and our young server didn't seem very familiar with the menu nor knew anything about any of the premium tequilas in offer, which was a bit problematic as we requested more info and pricing of several -- and, every single time, the young lady had to leave for a few minutes and come back with an answer. Other than that, she provided courteous, albeit somewhat frustrating service [she didn't look too happy to be there :( ]. Apps started with a bunch of guacamole and chips - WHOA to the GUAC! Incredibly chunky, fresh, and obvi delicious. Entrees ordered by our group ranged from average to below average, but were all pretty well-seasoned. The standout for me, particularly because I find it harder to see offered at Mexican restaurants I typically frequent, was the COCHINITA PIBIL...in ENCHILADA form. Say WHAAA?! Yummmm! Sooo flavorful and HUGE. It smelled so good I devoured it for a bit before realizing I had not taken a photo yet. I'll note though, even that great dish was too rich to eat too much of, so it was definitely shared and we still had leftovers the next day. Would I come back? Absolutely! We got our drinks and noticed a hair in my husbands water cup and sent it back and went on with our breakfast. Through out our meal we noticed 5 more random hairs on our table and started looking around skeeved out and saw we were surrounded by dust , dirt and hair all over our booth. The waitress didn't seem fazed she said she would let the manager know. Manager never even came over to apologize or ask if we wanted to be moved. Vibe- This is a nice Mexican restaurant in Pearland! There's an area for outdoor seating and PLENTY of seating inside. It's very colorful inside :) Customer service- Great! We ordered the Emma's Margarita the second go around and it was better. It came with 2 floaters each but it's like that's all the alcohol that was in it. Makes me think nothing was even put in the original ones. Let's talk food. I ordered the burrito with ground beef. It was alright. Nothing bad to really say about it. Better than some places but worse than others. My boyfriend ordered the fantastico plate combo. It was weird. It came with one cheese chile relleno, one chicken fajita taco al carbon, and one chicken fajita enchilada al carbon. What was weird was one of those was just plain chicken in a loose flour tortilla. Nothing on top. And nothing else inside. It was so dry. I gave him some of my cheese dip to go on top of it. First time eating at this restaurant in the 15 years I've lived here and I've always been curious about it, especially with all they've done to the place. Safe to say it didn't disappoint :) The inside was much nicer than I expected. Casual, clean, and a bit quirky (all things I appreciate). The service was great and friendly. Full disclosure: If I absolutely loved texmex, this would be a 5 star review. But I don't and tex-mex actually falls at the bottom of my fav cuisine list. So why did I order all this? Well I really had a hankering for some tres leches. When I saw they had PECAN tres leches it was GAME ON!!! Also ubereats had a $10 off if you spend $30 or more deal so i said wth...why not. As usual, the food was generally a bit bland for my liking. The beans needed a generous amount of my own seasonings (Adobo all purpose, garlic AND onion powder, red pepper, and a dash of chicken boullion). The Carne guisada was VERY VERY VERY GOOD. spicy and flavorful. Wish they went slight heavier on the beef though. Lol. Finally the tres leches. Very delicious and worth every bite. For some reason it felt room temp. I guess it's because it was kept wrapped with the rest of the warm foods. But delicious nontheless. One thing about tex mex food is they don't hold back on VOLUME. Definitely one of the most budget friendly type cuisines out there. I could see why the typical family would opt for this. I got the enchiladas barbacoa is was superb the Spanish rice and refried beans were scrumptious. My wife got spinach and chicken quesadillas. We both had iced tea. Queso was warm and creamy with warm tortilla chips . Great appetizer. We had our meal in 12 minutes tops hot and fresh. Our waitress was so very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is amazing with beautiful mural art, and soothing music. My wife suggested that we eat there I've driven by the restaurant for years . I should have stopped sooner. My 1st time ordering to go, and had no issues calling in and placing the order it was fast, easy and the lady said 15-20 minutes the food should be ready. I ordered the beef fajita for 2 and a side of crazy veggies. I was excited to see all the onions on top of the fajita meat, but it was short lived after tasting the bland, flavorless, oily, mushy fajita meat. It didn't even taste like it had salt. Very disappointed in spending $68 for this meal. I thought I could mask the taste of the meat by making tacos with what I assume where home made tortilla, pico de Gallo, cheese, rice, charro beans, and guacamole. But Gosh darn it, to no avail still tasted blahhh. Flour tortilla where undercook or old I don't know but they were hard and chewy so not sure what they were. Out of the whole meal the rice was the best tasting part. Even the side sauteed veggies were overcooked and mushy with no flavor. They gave me 4 tiny slices of beef, 5 tiny slices of chicken and 6 shrimp (3 were small which was hidden by 3 medium shrimp on top) for $45.00 plus. Not worth. There is more Sauted big slices of onions than the meat and it was mushy and very oily. The onions were filed up on top of the tiny meats. I tried this place because of the review of 5?????? Not again. I wont mind paying too Much as long as the food taste good. I would recommend Lupe's for Fajitas or Papassitos. We got abandoned by our waitress. We decided to try something different last night. Gringos and Casa Ole are our favorites but we wanted to mix things up. First impression was it is run down. All the booth seats fabric is falling apart. There are gaps around the booth windows to the outside where bugs could crawl in. The taco meat is super greasy. We asked for Queso with taco meat added and what we got was a table spoon of taco meat on top and a half cup of grease floating on top. The only good part about it was the margarita was good, but when we were ready for more drinks our waitstaff was nowhere to be found! I waited another 20min while my wife finished her food then I was ready to go. Still nobody had checked on us in the time! I had to go out to my car to find cash, then we read the menus and calculated how much our meal would have been and left the money on the table and left. Never actually got totally abandoned at a restaurant like that before and I will never go back here. read more

My grandparents and I went here for an early dinner yesterday. I have a fully trained, medical alert service dog for my blood sugar amongst other hidden disabilities in my body. Upon entering there was a sign on the door that said something along the lines of "ESA and Pets are not welcome, SERVICE ANIMALS WELCOME" which of course is by law, but I thought it was nice that they were smart enough to weed out all the fakes. Upon being seated, my service dog tucked under the table and laid down as he was commanded to do, and has done a million times before in restaurants. The manager came to our table and asked me for paperwork on my dog, to which I kindly responded that paperwork for service animals is fake and legally they aren't allowed to ask me for it. I then gave him an informative card that talks about service dogs and the laws and what you're allowed to ask their handlers. He took it gratefully and we went on with our dinner. That is until we were paying and the same manager came back to our table and demanded I give him my name and email address so he can "check with the city" to see if my dog was a "real service dog" I again, kindly replied that there is no way for them to check because service dog paperwork is not real. To help him understand I even told him that the dog was meant to alert to my blood sugar (which I absolutely did not have to tell him!). He then proceeded to lift up his sleeve, show me his diabetic blood sugar monitor and tell me "I have diabetes and I don't need a dog." I then explained that I don't have diabetes but a different condition and I am not able to use that type of monitor. He continued to discriminate against me and my service dog. I left before anything could get out of hand. It doesn't take but 3 minutes to educate yourself and your staff on the ADA Service Animal Laws! read more

The food is good , the crowd can tend to be a bit much. The prices are a bit steep for what you get. Margaritas are very good and strong so watch out. My main gripe is the way there are free range children totally unattended. I'm not paying to have to endure kids running and screaming while trying to enjoy a dining experience. The prices have gone way up and quality of food has declined at this restaurant. We paid $53 for a pretty small amount of mixed chicken and beef fajita, and the beef tasted rubbery like it had been sitting in some marinade for too long. We have tried it every 6-8 months because it used to be so good, but after our last visit in which we were mostly ignored, I am not going back. It's sad. It was a Friday night at 6 and the place was almost empty. The decor is starting to look very run down, chairs all need new upholstery, and when you enter the restaurant there is a huge list of "house rules" greeting you on a poster tacked to the hostess desk. BUFFET. Not sure how much more explanation is needed other than that. Lol The breakfast buffet is awesome! They have it every Saturday and Sunday from 8 to 2pm. There isn't anything missing from the buffet. There's an omelet station, fruits, tamales, Barbacoa, waffle and pancake station, eggs, etc, etc. considering the amount of food the price isn't bad either. UPDATE: NO BUFFET. Went back for the buffet and was disappointed to find out they no longer have it. I got the Barbacoa tacos which I don't recommend. Emma's- we have been loyal customers for 22 years -- when they were still Mely's. We even supported their other restaurant adventure on the west Side of Pearland many years ago. We had stopped going to Emma's because they not only raised their prices, but they were charging for using credit. Before ppl start slamming this - either raise or charge extra, but to do both! And to print menus without prices ???? We went tonight because it was close. On the tables they had a "Game Day Special" For certain drinks. We stayed with those drinks, but we're charged full price for all of our drinks (table of 4). They apparently were only doing this"special" for last nights Astros Game. But today was all day football - and the special was for "Game Day"Special. Our server even know we were ordering bases on that advertisement posted on each table. BUT NOT ONLY WAS THAT NOT HONORED, the manger made excuses. When I walked out and flipped one of those ads over on a table and told friends who were about to be seated to beware of this -- she followed me out of the restaurant and asked me to never come back. They are literally hurting for business. Which is sad because Jose did such a great job managing this place. It was their mistake. They should have owned up to this and given us the discount. This is awful for their business. And I know that EVERYONE has had to raise prices. But they were WRONG. They did not take down the ads posted on EACH TABLE and they didn't honor their mistakes by giving us a discount. We were there at 6pm and they didn't know??? Poor management. Wasn't super into my lunch. I order camarones diabla, and got fajita style bacon-wrapped shrimp covered in cheese. I don't eat bacon, so I spent 15 minutes peeling off bacon to eat my food.
