We stopped by IHeart Kolache for lunch yesterday. I'd been wanting to find a good Kolache for a while, and I am glad to say I have. I wish they were closer to my house, but at least I know where to go when I am in the Colony. We were late in the day, so inventory was a little low. To be expected, so just let that be a reminder to go early. My Jalapeño sausage Kolache-- spot on. Egg and cheese -- another thumbs up from my wife. Our raspberry kolaches -- as good as I've had in the area. My granddaughter's apple Kolache -- I didn't taste it, but it looked really good. Service was fast and friendly, and the place was really clean. My only knock was that the hot coffee and tea were REALLY HOT. My two year old granddaughter always gets a sip of grandma's tea, and yesterday was no exception. Unfortunately grandma had not sampled it yet. Lotsa tears. We both tossed a bit of ice in our cups. We have been coming to I Heart Kolache for a few years now. This is my daughter's absolute favorite place for fruit or traditional kolaches. Its all about the bread and let me tell you...those buns are the most amazing things ever. We like these better than the famous kolaches from West, TX (even though we never pass those up on a trip south!). Coffee, lattes and other coffee and tea drinks are also offered. Beyond the wonderful kolaches is the amazing woman that runs this place. We are convinced she lives there because no other employee is ever out front working. Tonya is always there with a huge smile, a 'welcome in' and quick, friendly service. She always remembers us, knows when it has been awhile since she has seen us and always, always remembers and asks about my daughter's sport. We worried about if her little shop would survive in our community during the Covid lockdowns. I saw a few posts on facebook and the town seemed to rally around her. We are glad her business survived and hope she remains in our community for years to come. We could go anywhere for kolaches but we choose her. Hardworking and so personable. I went here to meet with a client. It's a small place in a little plaza. I went here on a whim because the other place that I planned to go to had no seating. It was very clean. Had a few tables for seating, coffee setup, and at the counter is where the kolaches and etc. are. The menu is good. It has just enough selections to not feel overwhelmed but also not feel like you didn't have options. I ordered the cream cheese kolache and sausage kolache. I paid around $7. The lady warmed them up for me and set them on the plate pretty. . They were so good. It tasted so good and fresh. The cream cheese wasn't overly sweet or tart. Great mix of both. Nice and soft. They were a good size too. The only reason that I didn't do 5 stars is because it's one of those places where the service is r good or bad..it's just service. My brother and I came here after church on Sunday to check them out. We were greeted by a sweet lady at the register who was very pleasant. From their menu, they had a pretty good variety of kolaches to choose from which was great. We ordered the ham and cheese Kolache, jalapeño Kolache, and a raspberry tart. We liked the kolaches and raspberry tart but there was a lot more bread than sausage and tart. This is a local shop with delicious kolaches and amazingly personal service! A lot of kolache places have limited vegetarian options, but this place had a good variety besides the fruit kolaches. The veggie/spinach kolache was delicious with great flavors. My husband had gotten the potato egg and cheese along with a broccoli potato and cheese and he had wanted some hot sauce, which they didn't have, however the owner brought out some picante sauce with freshly diced jalapeños. She went above an beyond customer service expectation when she could've easily said they didn't have any. The bread was nice and soft. I had also gotten an iced mocha, which was good, although a bit sweet and definitely very chocolatey. May not get the iced mocha next time, but would try maybe a just an iced coffee.
