    pesto caprese

We really like this bakery for their sandwiches! We like the roast beef and the pesto caprese, the pesto has a nice freshness of the tomato mozzarella paired with balsamic and the roast beef has a really nice mustard and pickle and onion combo that goes super well with the meat. Both are on the foccacia bread that I like a lot, it's fluffy and not oily and savory, we come back to this often

I had been wanting to try and I finally made it but sadly I was disappointed. I walked in and my plan was iced coffee and breakfast. I ordered the iced cold brew latte and the only breakfast sandwich that was available. I asked if I could get it on sourdough and she stated yes but I would have to buy the whole loaf of sourdough. The sandwich was egg, bacon, cheese, arugula, aïoli, on a croissant. This was a $11.25 sandwich which had me almost headed home. I said try it! The cheese was not melted, the bacon as I bit it, it all fell off my sandwich, I couldn't bite through it. Thankfully, I chose to put the aïoli on the side, as I did not like it. Now this sandwich would have tasted a lot better on sourdough, cheese was melted, bacon was crispy. I did eat it, well because I just spent $18.00. The coffee was delicious and I will go back to try a pastry and sourdough.

You can get croissants at almost any bakery or coffee shop, but fresh, buttery, flaky ones are hard to come by. Croix checks all these boxes and more. It's a bit far from my home, but it's well worth the trip. We got the almond, glazed, and bear claw croissants. They call them "criox" here :) The buttery almond croissant was super nice. We loved the toasty, sugary almond flakes on top. The glazed croix was creamy and sweet, but not too sweet. The costing was very thin. We also enjoyed the bear claw croix with savory pastrami and cheddar. But most of all, we loved the croissant dough. It was super buttery and flaky. They also sell loaves of sourdough bread that look delicious! We came here for breakfast, but they also offer some wholesome sandwiches, like pistachio pesto caprese and roast beef, which are great for a quick decent lunch. The shop is nicely decorated, simple but elegant. There are a couple of tables inside. If you're not in a big hurry, grab your favorite pastry and a coffee or tea and enjoy the cozy vibe.

Great experience at Croix. The mortadella, burrata, and pistachio sandwich is one of the best Italian sandwiches I've had in DFW. It had a very soft and bouncy focaccia that was toasted very nicely with a great balance of flavors from the pistachio pesto and creaminess of the burrata. The croix namesake was basically a croissant and it was decent. A little on the dry and bready side. Could use a little more butter and may have been a little dried out. Also got a sourdough loaf as it looked pretty promising. It was a classic country sour loaf and very good! Inside was soft and springy though the outside was a little chewy so may have been sitting around a little while. Otherwise, toasting it with butter was very delicious and it maintained the soft springiness in the middle. Great vibes and friendly service. Would definitely come back for the sandwiches and for more bread!

My new favorite sourdough joint! My only regret was not finding this place sooner! Highly recommend this place. Their pastries are a must as well!! The vanilla cream cruffin was so good and not overly sweet! Do go early because they sell out quick!! We went on a Saturday at noon and they were sold out of sourdoughs and some popular pastries!

I visited Croix Bakehouse last week and had a delightful experience. The first thing I noticed upon entering was the smell of freshly baked bread. The interior was a bit small, but it was thoughtfully arranged. Everything I ordered was freshly baked and tasted delicious. The sourdough stood out in particular: a deeply caramelized, crisp crust with a soft, airy interior and a pleasant tang that was chewy without being dense, and clearly well-fermented. I also tried two sandwiches. The roast beef sandwich was very satisfying, with juicy, tender beef, sweet and hot mustard, and pickles all on their delicious focaccia bread which held everything together without getting soft and soggy. The mortadella, burrata, and pistachio sandwich was a bit richer and more indulgent with the burrata, mortadella, and the slight nuttiness from the pistachio pesto, and the flavors were complemented by their focaccia bread. Just writing this makes me want to return for another bite! The staff were kind and welcoming. Croix Bakehouse is definitely a bakery I will return to in the future.

I hope this place stays open forever! The best bread i've ever had! We love the sourdough and the jalapeño cheddar. Let me just say I tried most things on the menu because I've got a sweet tooth. If you're stuck on what to try, get the morning bun or glazed croix. The croissant is also the best I've had. They're very large and shareable, good to make sandwiches with. My husband had the mortadella sandwich and loved it. The chocolate chip cookies remind me of Levain cookies, thick and gooey. The service is quick and friendly.

Saw this new bakery opening nearby on Instagram and decided to check it out! It's at a convenient location off the Dallas North tollway. The wonderful smell of baked goods was wafting outside. I could tell it was going to be amazing. The lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful. We were there in the early afternoon. So, they had sold out of a few items. We ended up getting a sliced loaf of sourdough bread, two croissants, a Pain Au Chocolat, and a chocolate chip cookie. We ate them when we got home, and everything was stellar. The chocolate chip cookie was FULL of chocolatey goodness. Cannot wait to go back and try some of their other specialties or a sandwich.

We were so excited to try Croix! We got the pistachio croissant based on their recommendation, the morning bun, a chocolate chip cookie, and the vanilla crème cruffin. The pistachio croissant was both the favorite of my husband and I. The chocolate chip cookie was epic. Small, clean interior with fast service. You could tell each item was insanely fresh and light. There are some other pastry shops in the same shopping center with croissants, and Croix blows them all out of the water. We will definitely be back!

    Bacon egg cheese croissant

Traveled from Massachusetts and was in the area. Highly rated so decided to try it out. My boyfriend got the bacon egg and cheese croissant, and I got the mortadella burrata and pistachio. we also got the chocolate croissant. Everything was amazing, but the croissant was buttery and flaky and so good !

Such a cute French bakery! My daughter said the chocolate croissant (not pictured) was the best chocolate croissant she's ever had! The cold brew is great and the ambiance is quaint with cute music playing. Loved our visit and we'll definitely recommend and be back!

Clean, bright and cheerful small bakery offering a few sandwich choices and several pastries. Counter service was average. The food was excellent. Both sandwiches were really fresh and flavorful. Only thing that was a little underwhelming was the amount of chocolate in the Pain Au Chocolate. Virtually none! Then there is the price. Two sandwiches two pastries and two coffees plus a 20% tip was $49.

Ever since I bought my first loaf of sourdough from Croix at the Frisco Fresh Market I fell in love! I was so sad when they disappeared for a while but I'm soooo happy they have a storefront now! I didn't take a picture of the jalapeno cheddar sourdough or baguette I got, but this mortadella on the absolute best focaccia I've ever had was so heavenly!!

After a lot of research I found these guys and I was so inspired by the story that the mom and daughter started the company together because they were dealing with the same severe gluten intolerance! Knowing that there's no risk of cross-contamination that could ruin my friend's party weekend would have already been worth the expense, but omg these cupcakes were INCREDIBLE! All the girls were shocked they were "gluten free" because they're so moist and decadent and delicious! I have no idea what magical witchcraft these ladies are using to make GF bread items taste like gourmet cupcakes, but we absolutely loved them! Top tier favorites were definitely the carrot cake, strawberry, and this cupcake of the week that had apples inside (seriously so good). But honestly they were all winners, and I personally loved the lemon one a lot. I also really appreciated them going the extra mile when I ordered so that they were frozen and ready for a 3 hour drive to our cabin when I picked them up on the scheduled day. It's that kind of customer service and kindness that makes me want to go back, even though I'm not GF! My friend liked them so much she's even thinking of grabbing a cake for the wedding, so that should give you a hint of just how good these baked goods are! I'd give 10 stars if I could!

They're also aesthetically pleasing. A bit less eggy than other fluffy souffle pancake joints that I've tried overseas. The pancakes here are fluffy and closer to the American cake consistency, but much lighter and easier to cut through versus the types you'd get in Japan. Strawberry Souffle Pancakes - The strawberries are fresh and delicious. Definitely appreciate that the whipped cream appears to be made in house and not out of a can. The premium pancake option comes with the equivalent of three strawberries and two pancakes with a reasonable dollop of whipped cream and strawberry sauce. Nutella Banana Souffle Pancakes - Roughly half or two-thirds of a banana split in two and appears to have a bit of caramelized sugar on it. There's also one strawberry, a Ferrero Rocher, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce to go with two fluffy pancakes. The entree is definitely well executed and fruits are fresh. Whipped cream is excellent. Overall, this place is a great place to enjoy some fluffy souffle pancakes. There's limited seating and wait times on the pancakes are anywhere between 15-20 minutes, which we appreciate because they do make them to order. The price of $13.99 for two pancakes off the premium menu felt a bit steep for the product. Experience at much better establishments, like Happy Pancake, in Shibuya or Ginza offer three pancakes with a greater quantity of whipped cream and fruits at roughly $8.25 with no expectations on tips. I understand we're in the states and this may not be a fair comparison, but the variance in both quantity and price is steep. Other than that, the product is good and worth a try.
