It's a smaller place with like 4 tables but we ate our sandwich and coffees here and had the rest of the order for later to try at home. But it's a good grab and go or order ahead. They also sell baguettes and sour doughs loafs. *Sandwich: it was better than the one we had in Italy. It was soo delicate but flavorful *morning bun: flaky, cinnamon and sugar.. there's areas of it that are caramelized and has a nice chewiness to it. Worth it. * everything Croix: if you like everything bagel seasoning you'll love. I'd choose the is over a bagel. *pastrami croix: yum! It's a fun take on a pastrami sandwich. Hit up a new morning bakery place on Saturday at about 8 am. It was still pretty empty when I came and they still had everything. I heard they sell out quickly so I came early. The interior isn't big but there are 4 small tables for seating and a bench for waiting. They have sweet and savory morning baked goods - croissants "croix", daily made sourdough flavors, sandwiches, and coffee. The service was great - the cashier was super helpful and gave good honest recommendations. I got a sandwich (mortadella, burrata, pistachio), 3 croix's (strawberry and cream, everything, and pistachio), and a black cold brew. Food came out in about 10 mins (about the time it took to write this review and take a couple pics). Food was really good - bread was super crunchy and everything was very flavorful. Not gonna go in detail. Try it yourself. I promise it's worth waking up at 7am and driving out here! The pistachio almond was a slam dunk, holy cow. This is an official favorite of mine. Okay first things first - super cute vibes and presentation, I do love the art of pastries on the wall, super enriching! Staff is also kind. So the baker, Rodrigo, is from Mexico and you can taste the influence in the cream. The crossaint have perfect flakiness - soft on the inside and perfect flakiness on the outside! This goes for the pistachio crossaint and the vanilla cream cruffin. The size, portion, flavor are all done right (though I wish I could taste more vanilla in the cream cruffin). The kougin amann is also more traditional - caramelized and hardened (I suggest adding some fruits inside, a bakery I went to in Jersey City did that and it was all I ate from them for awhile.) I'm giving 5 stars because while there is room for something new, you have to go for the pistachio crossaint. read more

I ordered the iced cold brew latte and the only breakfast sandwich that was available. I asked if I could get it on sourdough and she stated yes but I would have to buy the whole loaf of sourdough. The sandwich was egg, bacon, cheese, arugula, aïoli, on a croissant. This was a $11.25 sandwich which had me almost headed home. I said try it! The cheese was not melted, the bacon as I bit it, it all fell off my sandwich, I couldn't bite through it. Thankfully, I chose to put the aïoli on the side, as I did not like it. Now this sandwich would have tasted a lot better on sourdough, cheese was melted, bacon was crispy. I did eat it, well because I just spent $18.00. It's a bit far from my home, but it's well worth the trip. We got the almond, glazed, and bear claw croissants. They call them "criox" here :) The buttery almond croissant was super nice. We loved the toasty, sugary almond flakes on top. The glazed croix was creamy and sweet, but not too sweet. The costing was very thin. We also enjoyed the bear claw croix with savory pastrami and cheddar. But most of all, we loved the croissant dough. It was super buttery and flaky. They also sell loaves of sourdough bread that look delicious! We came here for breakfast, but they also offer some wholesome sandwiches, like pistachio pesto caprese and roast beef, which are great for a quick decent lunch. Great experience at Croix. The mortadella, burrata, and pistachio sandwich is one of the best Italian sandwiches I've had in DFW. It had a very soft and bouncy focaccia that was toasted very nicely with a great balance of flavors from the pistachio pesto and creaminess of the burrata. The croix namesake was basically a croissant and it was decent. A little on the dry and bready side. Could use a little more butter and may have been a little dried out. Also got a sourdough loaf as it looked pretty promising. It was a classic country sour loaf and very good! Inside was soft and springy though the outside was a little chewy so may have been sitting around a little while. Otherwise, toasting it with butter was very delicious and it maintained the soft springiness in the middle. Great vibes and friendly service. I visited Croix Bakehouse last week and had a delightful experience. The first thing I noticed upon entering was the smell of freshly baked bread. The interior was a bit small, but it was thoughtfully arranged. Everything I ordered was freshly baked and tasted delicious. The sourdough stood out in particular: a deeply caramelized, crisp crust with a soft, airy interior and a pleasant tang that was chewy without being dense, and clearly well-fermented. I also tried two sandwiches. The roast beef sandwich was very satisfying, with juicy, tender beef, sweet and hot mustard, and pickles all on their delicious focaccia bread which held everything together without getting soft and soggy. The mortadella, burrata, and pistachio sandwich was a bit richer and more indulgent with the burrata, mortadella, and the slight nuttiness from the pistachio pesto, and the flavors were complemented by their focaccia bread. Saw this new bakery opening nearby on Instagram and decided to check it out! It's at a convenient location off the Dallas North tollway. The wonderful smell of baked goods was wafting outside. I could tell it was going to be amazing. The lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful. We were there in the early afternoon. So, they had sold out of a few items. We ended up getting a sliced loaf of sourdough bread, two croissants, a Pain Au Chocolat, and a chocolate chip cookie. We ate them when we got home, and everything was stellar. They're located at the old Batch pie shop location. Their offerings are limited, which is fine, but you'd expect what is offered to be fantastic. It was just fine. We tried the regular croissant, chocolate croissant, sticky pecan bun, croissant bread, and kouign amann. Their kouign amann is NOT how you make that. It's supposed to be made with multiple layers similar to a croissant, but it's just a dense solid dough inside. Go to Tulla if you want a real one. The chocolate croissant was just utterly depressing. The other reviewer was right, there BARELY any chocolate inside (see photo). It was $6 for that. Pretty much everything is $6 except the regular croissant that was just over $3. The chocolate chip cookie was THICK. Thick and dense. Didn't really have much flavor either.
