BUT THE SERVICE, THE SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. you know what it is to not even be greeted but instead the first thing they tell you is "5-10 minute wait" where my Goodmorning. My wife and I went to this new location yesterday morning October 16 first impression was bad , floors very dirty , some forks on the floor ,our table and chair was dirty salt sugar on the seats , the table was dirty and that's the way the server conducted business. my wife order the create combo that come whit pancakes she got no pancake had to ask for my toast, i order chicken strips and fries for my daughter to go, when we got ready to go there was no order , the server was a new employee and had no clue what she was doing. Went in today for brunch with my daughter and enjoyed our visit. IHOP close to home is the best! It was busy when we went and we waited about 15 minutes which I thought was reasonable. Our server was friendly, greeted us with a smile, and welcomed us with a great attitude. We are familiar with the menu but the server took her time to go over special and made a few suggestions. The food came out in a timely manner and she made sure to check up on us as we enjoyed our meal. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. Everything was absolutely delicious! If there would be a .25 star I would've give it. I do not recommend this place, at least not with the crew that was there today 1/29/20. We waited to be seated for over 15 minutes with an almost empty restaurant and 4 employees floating around looking busy. After we were seated a server approached us and told us to give her a minute and disappeared for good. We weren't offered not even menus to check out. We understand that there could be complicated situations on the back but we weren't offered not even an explanation or apology. Absolutely horrific... If you call for a to-go order, you will be put on hold eternally. If you dare to go in, you will be greeted by an individual who clearly has been forced to work there against their will. So much anger. Once you get thrown into a booth, your truck stop waitress will make you feel bad about being born. And for the finale-- the food tasted like road kill... Tonight was our second visit to this restaurant. There won't be a third. The first time was about 3 months ago, shortly after this restaurant opened. The service was terrible that night. There were very few people in the restaurant, but it took an extremely long time to get our food and the waitress had to come back to our table multiple times to get our order straight. They never did get it right and the manager ended up comping our entire check. Her excuse was that she was the only one working in the kitchen that night. Fast forward 3 months to tonight. We decided to give it another try. Big mistake. Same situation, but with different manager. This time, we waited 45 minutes for our food and never did get it. The wait staff was totally inattentive and seemed like they were avoiding making eye contact. When we spoke with the manager (who looked like she had walked in off the street and was not even wearing a uniform), she was totally non-apologetic and kept saying over and over that nobody showed up for their shift and that she was alone in the kitchen. Sounded just like the last time we were there. I'm hoping that someone in this restaurant's senior management chain reads these reviews, since there is clearly a systemic issue at this location. I give this place 6 months and they will be out of business if corrective action is not immediately taken. read more

I'm giving this place 5 stars solely because of the new owner, JP. He is absolutely turning that place around. I was there with my family and ordered pumpkin pancakes (it's the weekend of Halloween, mind you). They were out of the pumpkin to make the pancakes, so the waitress came, told me, and asked me what else I wanted. Long story short, I guess the waitress said something to JP because he actually sent someone to the store to buy pumpkin and made me the pancakes himself! (Obviously I didn't know or ask them to do any of this). He even make me his own special pumpkin cheesecake pancakes for me to try! For the record, everyone who loves pumpkin needs to go there immediately and ask him to make you those pancakes. You'll thank me later lol. Waited 45 min for a to-go order I called in. Was told it would be ready in 10 min but come to find out it was never put in. After 3 staff and the manager ask me why I'm standing at the register, I tell each of them the same thing with no resolution. Minimal communication among the team is a concern based on my personal observation today and during other visits. The Waterford Lakes community was excited to have a local ihop but I've experienced consistently poor outcomes and have heard the same from others. This location can no longer blame poor performance/leadership on being new and today it certainly wasn't because they were busy. Only 4 tables in use with plenty of staff running back and forth looking stressed out. I observed tables having to ask for service when there is enough staff to give each table undivided attention. What is going on? Food was a good temperature and tasty so kudos to the kitchen workers. When you try out this location, bring an open schedule and lots of patience and you should be fine. read more

Waited like 20 minutes just to get our drinks, then when the food came out it was wrong then we told the waitress and she said she was sorry and took the food back and the food she brought back was still wrong..... then she took 20 minutes to bring us our check. My boyfriend and I wanted pancakes at around 9 PM. It was not busy, there were around 2 servers and only about 3 tables (my boyfriend worked in a restaurant and he is the one who told me they were not busy and were very well staffed for the scenario). It took about 3 to 5 minutes for him to be noticed by staff, and the only reason he was noticed by them was because a fellow customer who was eating a meal with his family pointed him out. He waited 10 minutes for the pancakes after this, then we went home. The pancakes were smaller than they usually are at iHop; roughly half the size of the usual pancakes. We often to go breakfast at iHop in other locations and this was our first time at this location. His pancakes were fine other than being small, but mine were raw on the inside. We even tried to put them in the air fryer and they wouldn't cook much more. We are going to visit the store tomorrow and complain with the pictures we took, but I wanted to leave this review to warn other customers. I love iHop pancakes normally but this was a disappointing visit. read more

The food quality is good. I've never had anything gross or undercooked at this location. However, they have never gotten my order correct. I've ordered from this location a handful of times now and I will not be returning. I have called to place my orders for pick up. Every time I have picked up my order there is something wrong. I ask for no cheese on my eggs and they put on cheese. I ask for gluten friendly pancakes and I'm always given regular. They also always forget silverware and all condiments that go with the specific meal. I make sure the order is read back to me and everything seems fine until I pick it up. The staff has been nice to me and I've had two of my orders fixed. The others that were wrong I didn't have time for it to be corrected. I hate writing negative reviews. :( read more

We went in for a quick visit wanting pancakes. It was not appealing when you saw the exterior of I hop. The interior is ok. Wait time was fast so we got seated quickly. ok... I'm not one to complain so if I'm making a negative yelp review you know it's bad. Brought my friends from out of town for an easy breakfast before we start a busy day to this newly opened ihop and it was absolutely awful. The back of house staff couldn't read a single ticket. We had five people in our party and not one of our orders were correct. We had to wait almost a full hour before our food got to us. People who had sat down before us got food and left before we even got our food?? Even getting our checks after we settled with what we got it was an issue!! The girl didn't know what we were actually served and had to send back check to get the prices right. What a nasty place to have breakfast. The pancake looks like those that you get from a machine at your near by hotel. The service is horrible. The tables, floor, utensils, and bathroom were dirty. I understand there's a pandemic and social distancing and sanitary requirements would suggest that longer wait times and considerations must be taken. However, neglect and lack of management is not a good excuse. We were sat at our table and waited patiently for over 10 minutes and saw how we were "jumped" twice by servers helping other tables that arrived after us. Today was the last time we will go there. We have tried now 5 times since they opened, because we live just around the corner, but every time we were dissapointed. The hosting situation was never how it should be, often nobody even at the welcome desk. The food is only loop warm, but the worst part is the service. Almost all waiters there just walk around lethargically you can see on their face they are missable and do not care. Which brings me to the last point: a visit there takes longer than it should. My grandfather and I went there today, took 15 minutes for them to even take our drink order, hen messed up a lot on our order, for example my grandfather asked for sweet tea and for his burger to have no cheese. Where do I begin. It's Mother's Day. I ordered online. It said it would be ready at 8:31a. Get there at 8:50a my dad gets out to pick up the order and the order was not ready. I call again, speak to manager again, I ask for a status update, she puts me on hold. SIX minutes later, I end up hanging up the phone. I finally get out of the car to speak with the person face to face. I go off on the poor kid who was plopped at the front because the manager couldn't handle the pressure from upset people. I made it clear to him I wasn't upset at him directly. He was a very sweet kid. The manager NOT ONCE came out to apologize to anyone. There were approximately seven other people waiting for their orders, al the while dine in folks were ALL getting their food within 10mins. Can someone explain that to me? My dad tells the there were only three tables being served at the time we arrived. I FINALLY got my order at 9:40a. No discount, no "I'm sorry" extra pancakes, absolutely nothing. The manager was not empowering her staff, and sucks at prioritizing. Based on other negative reviews I've seen on here today, that manager should either go through intense food service training, OR seriously reconsider her work and not be in a customer centric job. This IHOP food is mostly consistent with other locations. HOWEVER, the service was more than neglectful. We sat for well over a half an hour waiting for food. The restaurant had fewer than 7 tables with customers seated. We observed 3 tables adjacent to us be seated, order food, be served, paid, and leave before we were served. We asked to server to check on our order and she never returned to our table. I had to flag down the manager to inquire. I offered to pay for our drinks so we could leave. But in that conversation our food arrived, but we were still waiting for items. As I am looking around to see the mostly empty restaurant, her response was, "the kitchen is really backed up." Really? At least a complimentary chocolate milk would have been nice. There was definitely a teachable moment for proper customer service, but I really didn't have any more time to wait. I would be giving zero stars if that was possible. So, they get a star but they did not earn it. We've been there many times since this location opened, and each time my family and I have been disappointed. This is mostly due to the horrible service. Incorrect orders, glacier-slow service resulting in cold food, and errors in the check can be expected. The cooks need serious training, the waitresses do not even verify their food is correct before it comes to the table.
