Went to ihop today for National pancake day! It was about 4pm and the restaurant wasn't busy at all. The service was decent. Our food came quick and hot. I'm a little surprised how the price added up to 25 dollars with one combo and two sides ordered but I guess that is to be expected with increased prices everywhere. I wouldn't recommend coming here on a late weeknight, based on my experience. I came here on a weeknight around 11:30 pm, assuming that dine in was open 24 hours. The waitress sat us down and warned us that the dining room was closing soon and that she will not be able to serve us, but also said that we can still sit and eat here without a server. No problem, understandable. In less than 5 minutes, a manager comes to us and basically said we need to get out of the dining room in a condescending way. As we were already turned off, she started backtracking and said we can eat here. The manager needs to make up her mind and set through with it in a nice way, rather than kicking us out just to say we can eat here. The server was right all along, and it should have ended with her, not the manager coming in cranky. I did not know that this IHOP's dining room closed at midnight or earlier. Definitely hadn't been to an IHOP in years! Was in Potomac Yards with a family member and we decided to give this location a try. I initially was not excited but was open to the experience. It was morning on a weekday and everything was quick- being greeted, seated, and placing our order. The staff members were friendly and the space was clean. The layout is open and even though other customers were seated on each side, it didn't feel too crowded. The only downside is that our server disappeared and no one checked on us until bringing the bill. :-( Food: I ordered the double blueberry pancakes. They were good but probably not something I'd order again. Though the butter pecan syrup (an IHOP classic, by the way) was an amazing add. My relative ordered a chicken sandwich, which came with potatoes as a side (fries) and on the sandwich (hash browns). So that was a bit much. Lol. The hubby and I decided to come here on a whim after taking our dog to the park on a Saturday morning. I can honestly say I haven't been to IHOP in years and I was happy to go back. We were seated immediately although there was a nice crowd of people already sat. Our server greeted us pretty immediately and brought us two waters. Our server was pretty good although we did have to ask for refills and he didn't clear our empty glasses. Otherwise, he was great. The hubby got the Colorado omelette stuffed with bacon, shredded beef, pork sausage and ham with green peppers, onions and cheese. It was also served with salsa. The hubby said it was good, but a bit heavy for him. It was less stuffed with the ingredients vs. the ingredients being on top of the omelette, the hubby wished it had been stuffed. I got the quick two egg breakfast, instead of bacon I got turkey bacon and turkey sausage. I was quite happy with my meal. The turnaround time for the food was quick, although my husband's toast was delayed. We think our server forgot to put in his order for toast. I can honestly say the food was better than I remembered, it seemed fresh, the restaurant was clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We will definitely come back. Sadly, IHOP can be hit or miss (depending on the neighborhood) . NO complaints for this location. This location may be small in size but BIGGG on customer service. Ordered pickup. Food was ready by estimated time, but food was subpar at best! I noticed Ihop recently went up on their food prices. I only get the chicken fajita omelette with pancakes, have for years. It used to be $14,$15 it's now $18. The omelette was bland and little and the pancakes were about double the size of silver dollar pancakes. Probably won't go back to this location. Not worth $18 for baby food. read more

I was thoroughly impressed. I've been to an IHOP once before, many years ago, and remembered very little about the experience other than it happened. I was not expecting much from here and was actually blown away by how good their pancakes were. Our server was also incredible and when we couldn't decide between two dishes we asked for his recommendation and went with it. We were not disappointed. We stopped by late in the evening so the place was pretty quiet. It had a nice relaxed atmosphere to it. While it wasn't sparkling it also didn't feel grungy and I didn't notice any stickiness, a common occurrence when syrup is a main condiment. What we got: Pumpkin Spice Pancakes - 5* WOW. These were fantastic and I am now committed to trying to make them myself. Spicy Poblano Omelette - 4* pretty good. I honestly was expecting much but this hit the spot and I appreciated the diversity of ingredients. Sunnyside eggs, sausage, and hash browns - ? I forgot to ask my partner for a rating. I placed my carry out order on the app, walked in, was promptly greeted by someone, waited another minute before someone else asked if I'd been helped and after another minute or two, my order was handed to me. I checked the bag to make sure everything was there and it was. There wasn't anyone in the waiting area but the dining room looked pretty busy at around 12pm on a Tuesday. Along with two friends I visited this IHOP at this location, part of a large shopping center with ample parking. The interior is somewhat dated in terms is seating, however the wall graphics and paint bring things current. Our wait staff (Aynalem) was nice and brought our breakfast food quickly. I enjoyed my IHOP styled omelette, hash browns and pancakes greatly, which to me is a treat vs. an everyday breakfast. Knowing that was an outrageous price (even the glasses were small), we asked for "no ice." They filled the glasses with ice anyway. One of us ordered a salad. Nothing special. The other ordered a burger. We asked for a side order of broccoli with the hamburger. They LITERALLY brought out four small broccoli stalk TOPS on a plate (not even the entire stem of broccoli). It was $3 for that gem, which works out to 75 cents per tiny broccoli top. (#@#$%^&%*^(&*) We ordered nothing else, except for a bowl of tomato soup. After dropping wifey off at the airport this morning, I tend to go to this particular IHOP off Richmond HW in Alexandria. It's been over a year since I ate at any IHOP. I entered the restaurant, and was immediately seated; some patrons but not many. Ambience was nice. They no longer have my old favorite Country Omelette on the menu, so I opted for the "Build Your Omelette" as an option. Basically, I made my own C/O, with ham, onions, green peppers, Hash Browns and American cheese; I got sour cream as a topping. As usual, the 3 pancakes come with it; butter and syrup are standard. I always get coffee and cream, too. I have to say that my meal was simply delicious, and the dining experience was superb. My server (a Latina) was very nice and attentive to my needs. I will be back someday soon. I just gotta convince the wife to take more trips via the airport so I can visit this IHOP again. Highly recommended. read more

We finally got out to enjoy IHOP whilst covid19 is going on. Upon entering the establishment they have signs mask are required when entering and sanitizer is available at the door. All employees are wearing mask and there is social distancing inside where you eat. Paper menus are provided as another precaution. Not sure how many can occupy at this time. Now onto my experience while here.. We were seated immediately and menus given to us. Our waitress was very professional and also wearing mask and gloves. It's a trying time right now so when ordering be sure to be clear due to wearing a mask and your waitress or waiter wearing one as well.
