I have been to this location a few times and for it to be a Saturday it's moving quick and the people are polite and quick with their service. I would recommend eating here for good service. I will be back for many times to come. read more

This place is always clean, restroom included. Queen, one of the managers, is extremely customer-service oriented--can't speak for those other two who are there Sunday morning. The servers are really good at what they do and Even though it is busy as all get out on Saturdays and Sundays, I never have to wait that long and the food is always hot. The only complaint I would have is the bacon. It is never crispy and sometimes it looks like it's not done. If they could just get that bacon right, I will give this place five stars!! read more

I have been here several times for dinner. I try to avoid weekends for breakfast because of crowds. Dinner has been good. It is not fancy. They have a good selection and, of course, breakfast always available. Food is usually fresh and portions decent size. Service is good. Worst service i've ever received. Server Liane was very slow and took about 20 minutes to take drinks and another 20 to take food orders. She tended to all her other tables quickly as they were the same race as her. Not trying to say she was being racist but it was very upsetting. We had to ask multiple times for silverware and water. Also she forgot about pancakes and hash-browns multiple times not to mention when I finally got my pancakes they were moldy and all she had to say was "That's just the coloring from the grill". I usually avoid places like IHOP, Dennys, and Waffle House because the cleanliness is usually a 'lack thereof' situation. But I had to come here for a lunch meeting and the place was pretty clean. Service was quick and the waitress was friendly and timely. One person had some issues with the food her ordered, and the manager actually came out to assist with the issue. Owing to its hours, all twenty four of them, this IHOP location gets five stars. In a foolhardy showing of hubris and intoxication, one early morning I confidently ordered a Denver Omellete. The combination of ham, green peppers and really bad american cheese gave me mild food poisoning. However, this bacterial issue does not affect the number of stars IHOP gets from me. IHOP can't be held accountable for the logical consequences falling to a customer stupid enough to order a menu item outside of the pancake family. Absolute garbage! The wife and I went after a movie on Sunday (day before MLK day 2014) at 1205 in the morning. We were seated in an almost empty building and were given menus. We sat there for no less then 10 minutes and were never served. I watched all staff sit front cash register and talk. Then on top of that they stared at my wife and I. After the hostess managed to look up from flirting with the security officer, we were told it would take 20 mins. After 45 mins of waiting, we saw that the restaurant was clearing out and people who were waiting were also getting frustrated and leaving as well. When we asked the hostess "Sharon" if we could sit in one of the many empty tables she gave me a dirty look and in an annoyed tone said "no the kitchen has to catch up" and when I asked what does that mean because we've been waiting for over 45 minutes, she said " I don't know what you want me to do because I can't determine waiting time." Before I could even ask a followup to try and at least get us seated and get some thing drink, the hostess Sharon turned her head and started flirting with the security guard again. At that point it's been almost an hour and we decide to just leave. Needless to say that I will never be returning to that IHOP, ever. Great place for Breakfast.... awesome pancakes!!! The coffee is always fresh and the omelets are plentiful. The staff does a decent job in getting your order to you the way you ordered it... i.e. eggs over medium usually get to you over medium, not runny. I appreciate a restaurant that can provide you with eggs the way you want them, not the way the cook feels like plopping them on your plate. Pretty good value for the $$. Definitely a Breakfast ONLY place!! If you want anything other than breakfast food for lunch or dinner, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

I came into the IHOP in Dumfries at 545 am there was two people there ending there meal . Me and my daughter were greeted with a how are you and I said how are you and I got "tired " . We sat the waitress asked what we wanted to drink I ordered a coffee and water and my daughter a water . We noticed that we had to step over extinction cords on the floor and a few tables around us were dirty then we noticed a vacuum across from us and a sweeper . Another staffer had shown up and our waitress proceeds to yell about all the stuff she walked into on her shift how bad the earlier shift was and then she came out to point out the vacuum cleaner the same one we've been staring at since we came in . I was so pissed that this woman intintinaly left this vacuum and tons of exctintion cord left all over the section she sat us in instead of seating us ina fully clean section or simply put up the mess and go on about your shift . We didn't see much of the waitress she was busy complaining about the prior shift and going outside to talk with her friends in a car outside so 39 minutes went by and she finally gave us our meal then as we began to eat the kitchen person proceeded to tell the new person all the stuff the earlier shift had not done some dishes and cleaning off an oven something about oil . A couple friends and I met here on a Saturday night to discuss an upcoming trip. We got there around 9:45 PM and we ordered food and were drinking as we talked quietly. Out of nowhere the shift manager or supervisor came over and basically told us that we had been there too long!!!!! He had the audacity to say that we were keeping his waitress from making tips because we were holding up that table!!! He was such a jerk and in no way knew anything about customer service! In the few hours that we were there, our waitress not even once came over and asked if we wanted anything else.The restaurant was not even half full at the time, and there were no customers even waiting to be seated. I've dined at quite a few IHOPs, and I've dined at this location more than I'd like to admit solely because of its one positive--convenience. The food is lousy at this particular location. I don't know why. I can order the same meal here and at the IHOP in Rockville, and the food and coffee in Rockville are consistently ten times better. Restrooms are dirty, dirty, dirty! Managers here are unfriendly and incompetent. Who has ever heard of serving hamburgers but not having mustard available? I think that pretty much sums up the quality of this joint. read more

Halloween night, short staffed, waiters had too many tables, and the waiter never communicated to us that it would take a little longer. It took our table of five 20 minutes to be seated, 35 minutes to get our drinks (which ended up being incorrect), and then 15 minutes after that to get our food (some of which never came out). WORST EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE!! I put my name in for 7 people, and 6 of my people showed up and the manager guy Matt Roshandel said I couldn't get the table! I explained to him the other person had some leg issues and wasn't able to come and he still wouldn't give me the table. I asked him why was he doing this, and he said all 7 people had to be there or else I had to put our name again. He said "I DONT CARE" and screamed at me in front of everyone. He completely embarrassed me and my family on Easter Day in front of everyone. He walked away and said "I DONT CARE, LEAVE BECAUSE WE DONT NEED YOUR BUSINESS HERE". He turned his back on us and the lady standing there even said that our name was already taken off the list. I even cried when I got into the car because the other guests were laughing. I will never in my life go back to this IHOP - there is no customer service, instead their own manager will treat you like trash and offend you. read more

Normally I'm a fan of IHop...but today I had a bad experience at this location. The ham and cheese omelet was very cold and not fully cooked. The 3 pancakes that came with it were ice cold (the butter had not melted one bit). A place with "Pancake" in the name better be able to plop some hotcakes down in front of you, but today they failed that simple task. I got a dirty glass with something (batter maybe) on the bottom. As I have been a loyal customer, I spoke with the manager on the way out. He paid me no mind at all as I listed the problems with his business. He took a call while I was speaking with him. Amazing. You go to a place like IHop with the expectation of at least a reliable breakfast experience. Not today. read more

I went to this IHOP on 3/8, and apparently there was a free pancake shortstack promotion. When we finally got seated, no one came by to take our order or even bring us water for over 20 minutes. It wasn't until we decided to get up and leave (after about 20-25 minutes) that someone actually noticed no one was coming by our table, needless to say, we didn't order anything, but she told us to stay and at least grab the free pancakes. After finishing the pancakes, we were still waiting on water to arrive...Meanwhile as we're sitting there, everyone who was sat at the same time as us and after us were getting their orders/drinks. This isn't the first time we've had horrible service at this location, but this is probably the worst that it's ever been. I probably won't be coming back to this IHOP again, way too many bad experiences. read more

this is indeed the best ihop i have been to. the pancakes are always tasty and the coffee is solid. the staff is adept at expediting and bathrooms are even clean. ihop, i think i love u. just kidding but for being in such a high traffic area they are pretty pretty good. read more
